Jerry Jones faces 'Pay Micah' chants from Cowboys fans at training camp session
The Dallas Cowboys biggest storyline from training camp thus far is Micah Parsons contract situation, and more importantly, when owner and GM Jerry Jones will pay up.And as much as Parsons would love a new extension, it appears Cowboys fans are in the same boat.During open training camp on Saturday, Jones addressed the crowd of fans, and there were "Pay Micah!" chants heard, according to a video posted by The Athletic.CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COMAs fans were chanting, Jones was trying to point out everything else the team has done to fortify the roster this year, including the addition at wide receiver with George Pickens coming in via trade with the Pittsburgh Steelers."I was shocked last year when we ended up with the record that we had," Jones said. "I never saw that coming. . . . I want you to watch what weve done in the areas that we needed to work on. Look at what weve done in this offensive line. Look at what weve done, if you will, with our receiver core. Look at what were doing with our defense."Lot of changes out here. Lot of coaching changes. Lot of player changes."COWBOYS' GEORGE PICKENS TAKES SWIPE AT FORMER TEAMFans, though, are looking at the large elephant on the Cowboys field in Parsons, the teams first-round pick from 2021 who is due for a contract after cementing himself as one of the best defensive players in the league.Parsons will be playing his 2025 season on a fifth-year option, which the Cowboys easily picked up before the year. After this year, Parsons would be a free agent unless the Cowboys franchise tag him, which can always get messy.Parsons has been vocal this offseason about his contract, saying in June that a delay in signing him out ultimately cost the team more. Then, the Cleveland Browns signed Myles Garrett to a long-term extension worth $40 million, which ultimately led the Pittsburgh Steelers to give T.J. Watt a $41-million-per-year extension as well.Parsons hinted at those deals when discussing his thoughts last week, saying he wished the Cowboys had the "same type of energy" as other organizations who locked down their star defensive players."If they dont want me here, they dont want me here," Parsons said, via The New York Post. "Ill go about my business. I understand the nature of the business. Like I said, as long as Im here and under contract, Im gonna do what I have to do to perform at the highest level. But if this is the end, this is the end.""I just dont understand," Parsons added about his situation.Parsons isnt a hold-out player right now, as hes been in Dallas' camp. However, he hasnt been a full practice participant due to back tightness. The Penn State product has been as advertised since he broke into the NFL, collecting 52.5 sacks across his four years wearing the star on his helmet.Follow Fox News Digitalssports coverage on X, and subscribe tothe Fox News Sports Huddle newsletter.

'Daily Show' co-creator sounds off on cancellation of Colbert's show, accuses CBS of being 'afraid'
Lizz Winstead, the co-creator of "The Daily Show", sounded off during an MSNBC interview about the cancellation of late-night host Stephen Colbert's show, accusing CBS of being afraid."To just drop the franchise itself, right, its not like Stephen Colbert, its a double, its a twofer, right? And that says to me, you're afraid, because we've watched, with The Daily Show, with John Oliver, we've watched how people who do not have a dog in the fight, and what I mean by that is people who call BS no matter who the powerful person is, on their hypocrisy or screwing up. And thats what Stephen has done brilliantly, Jon [Stewart] has done brilliantly, John Oliver has done brilliantly," Winstead said.Winstead wrote a piece for Rolling Stone on Friday about the cancellation of Colbert and said she didn't believe CBS' explanation for canceling the show.CBS announced that Colbert's show would be canceled at the end of its broadcast season and said it was a "purely a financial decision against a challenging backdrop in late night."LATE-NIGHT LINEUPS FOR FIRST HALF OF 2025 FEATURE OVERWHELMINGLY LEFT-LEANING GUESTS, STUDY SHOWS"So when the truthtellers are the comics and those comics are actually resonating with the people that Donald Trump has not been able to reach, then hes got to go plan b and plan b is, oh, look at me, I have a merger I need, look at me. I can ask for what I want, and I can silence those voices because my, lardo-thin skin cannot take the ridicule, that most people can who are grown adults running a nation," she continued.Liberals have overwhelmingly argued that Colbert's show was canceled for political reasons.Days before the cancellation, Colbert slammed Paramount's recent settlement with President Donald Trump over his lawsuit against "60 Minutes" as a "big fat bribe" ahead of a pending merger between Paramount and Skydance Media.Winstead argued Colbert, along with other comedians, was an authentic voice on late-night television.CBS HOST POURS COLD WATER ON LIBERAL OUTRAGE TO COLBERT CANCELLATION, SAYS LATE-NIGHT INDUSTRY IS 'BROKEN'"When you are authentic, people gravitate to you, and there is nothing and no one more authentic than Stephen, John. You look at these passionate pleas that they give nightly, and youre like, that is real. And the fire is what makes people come back. And if you lack the fire, man, do you hate it. And if that fire is directed at you, you have no other choice, because youre small, to want to squelch it and put it out," Winstead continued.Winstead wrote in Rolling Stone that she didn't believe CBS' financial excuse and suggested networks didn't want progressive voices.CLICK HERE FOR MORE COVERAGE OF MEDIA AND CULTURECLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APP"This is why Colberts cancellation hits different. Not just because hes one of the greats, but because his ousting is a warning shot. It tells comedians even the white, male, successful ones that theres a line. And if you cross it, theyll find an excuse to take you out," Winstead, who identified herself in the commentary essay as a loud and proud, pro-abortion progressive, wrote."Underneath those thinly veiled excuses is fear. Fear of the power comedians have. Fear that people might actually listen while they are laughing," she continued.

Lindsey Graham spars with NBC anchor over Tulsi Gabbard's new Russiagate allegations
NBC "Meet the Press" host Kristen Welker asked Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., if he was trying to "distract from the Epstein matter" during a heated exchange on Sunday over Trump administration allegations that former President Obama may have directed the U.S. intelligence agencies to implicate Trump in the Russiagate scandal."Youre trying to sweep this stuff under the rug, and thats not right!" Graham said. The argument erupted over the recent allegations lodged by Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard. Gabbard claimed that declassified intelligence documents and a declassified 2020 House Intelligence Committee report revealed that in the waning days of the Obama administration, the then-president ordered U.S. intel agencies to alter their assessment of Russias attempts to interfere in the election specifically to help elect Donald Trump. The DNI director said that the intelligence agencies had originally concluded that Russia was not trying to help Trump get elected. Gabbard alleged that the agencies in fact had evidence that Putin expected Hillary Clinton to win the presidency. Gabbard alleged that this was tantamount to a "treasonous conspiracy."DNI GABBARD CLAIMS DEEP STATE ACTORS DIDNT WANT TRUMP-RUSSIA INFORMATION TO 'SEE THE LIGHT OF DAY'"The treasonous conspiracy that we have now released to the American people the complicity, the deflection, and the silence of politicians, of the mainstream media, and of those directly implicated into this speaks volumes," Gabbard told Fox & Friends.President Trump called for Obama and others to face "very severe consequences" for attempting to "rig the election." Obama issued a rare official response to Trump, blasting the claims as "bizarre" and a "weak attempt at distraction.""The bizarre allegations are ridiculous and a weak attempt at distraction. Nothing in the document issued last week undercuts the widely accepted conclusion that Russia worked to influence the 2016 presidential election but did not successfully manipulate any votes," he said. "These findings were affirmed in a 2020 report by the bipartisan Senate Intelligence Committee, led by then-Chairman Marco Rubio," a spokesperson for Obama said.Welker claimed that she had spoken to Republican former CIA officer Susan Miller, who categorically denied Gabbards claims. The NBC anchor also pointed to a Trump-appointed special counsel, John H. Durham, who she claimed concluded in 2023 that there was no political interference in the Russiagate probe. She also played a clip of Graham himself saying in 2017 that the Russians interfered in the election to embarrass Hillary Clinton.CLICK HERE FOR MORE COVERAGE OF MEDIA AND CULTURE"There's only one person in Washington that I know of that has any doubt about what Russia did in our election and is President Trump," Graham said at the time. The South Carolina senator replied that Gabbards report contained information that hadnt previously been disclosed, and that the allegations warranted a special counsel investigation."Well, what I am saying is that you left a lot out here The Mueller investigation was crooked and rotten to the core. The Washington Post and the New York Times got a Pulitzer Prize for reporting on Trump's campaign's relationship with Russia. It was all B.S.," Graham said.Graham said he isnt calling for former President Obama to be prosecuted for treason, but said that a special counsel should look into whether the former president ordered the intelligence report to be changed because he didnt like the outcome. He lamented that so many lives got turned upside down by the Mueller investigation, and accused Welker of trying to sweep the administrations findings "under the rug.""For years and months and days and weeks, people had their lives turned upside down, chasing the Mueller narrative that Trump was in bed with the Russians, that the Trump campaign was colluding with the Russian Youre trying to sweep this stuff under the rug and thats not right," he said.
