WWW.FOXNEWS.COMESPN anchor Elle Duncan stands firm after crude WNBA broadcast joke sparks online debateESPN anchor Elle Duncan caught some flak for a particularly crude comment during the networks broadcast of the WNBA All-Star Game.It was during halftime when Duncan made her comment regarding the high-offensive output by both teams."We hope it gets a little bit more competitive," Duncan started off after watching Napheesa Colliers team put up 82 puts to Caitlin Clarks squads 60 in the first half. "Because like a girls trip to Cancun, right now, theres no D."CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COMESPN analyst Chiney Ogwumike quickly said, "Elle, youre in timeout. Youre done." Then, the broadcast went to commercial.Duncan doesnt have any regrets over her comments despite the vitriol on social media. During an appearance on "The Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz," she defended her comment."My thing with the Cancun joke is, I feel like whenever I say something, its like sometimes a reintroduction for some people who clearly dont know me or my work over the last 10 years," Duncan said, per Awful Announcing. "Im like, Bro, I said on-air one time that if you celebrate too early, its calledpremature Im-Jacked-Elation. Like I cant actually imagine this is worse than that. Like I feel like I constantly have to remind people, I have been saying things like this for the 10 years I have been at ESPN.ESPN HOST'S OFF-COLOR JOKE DURING WNBA ALL-STAR BROADCAST DRAWS MIXED REACTIONS FROM VIEWERS"So, I thought it was silly. I thought it was funny. Some people disagree. Some people definitely agree. But it is what it is. Like, yes, girls say crude jokes, too."Duncan also addressed a specific portion of comments."The funny part to me, yall, has been the people who are like, What am I supposed to say to my children?'" Duncan added. "Im like, Well if you have to talk to your children about the fact that D is a slang word for a p---s, then I hope that I was able to help you have that conversation with your child whos old enough to watch basketball. Because my 4-year-old knows what a p---s is."Its so silly to me. The idea that like this is groundbreaking or somehow completely inappropriate in the landscape that we live in right now is just wild to me. I was a little blown, to be real."When Duncans comment went viral on social media, many were quick to comment their frustration with hearing her say it."Add this to a long list of why no one takes @WNBA or @espn seriously," one X user said under a video of Duncan, posted by Awful Announcing."If Shane Gillis said that, theyd try to cancel him," another wrote, referencing the comedians ESPYs monologue that turned heads this past week. When the second half eventually started, there was more offense than defense yet again, as Collier led the way with 36 points to help her squad beat Clarks, 151-131, to win the All-Star Game.Follow Fox News Digitalssports coverage on X, and subscribe tothe Fox News Sports Huddle newsletter.0 Comments 0 Shares 20 Views 0 Reviews

WWW.FOXNEWS.COMTim Walz leading Dem effort to turn bipartisan group against President Trump: reportProgressive governor and failed vice presidential candidate Tim Walz is leading a Democratic effort to turn one of the countrys most influential bipartisan groups against President Donald Trump, according to a report by a mainstream media outlet.Walz, the governor of Minnesota and one-time running mate of former Vice President Kamala Harris, is threatening to pull out of the bipartisan National Governors Association (NGA) over concerns it is not doing enough to push back against Trump, according to The Atlantic. The Atlantic reported that two unnamed people "familiar with the governors' thinking" shared that at least two Democratic governors Walz and fellow Democratic Gov. Laura Kelly, who is head of the Democratic Governors Association are opting to stop paying their NGA dues this month. The two governors will not renew their membership in the organization out of frustration with its inaction against perceived violations of states rights by the Trump administration.TRUMP FOE BOASBERG ORDERS DOJ TO DETAIL STATUS OF CECOT MIGRANTS SENT TO VENEZUELAThe concerns raised included the Office of Management and Budget briefly pausing disbursements of federal funds in January, the clash with Democratic Gov. Janet Mills over transgender athletes and Trumps deployment of the California National Guard to respond to the anti-ICE riots in Los Angeles. The outlet reported three other unnamed sources saying that Walz and Kelly are not alone and that the offices of other Democratic governors are similarly frustrated with the NGA.One of the unnamed sources said "when you are also paying dues with taxpayer dollars, it has got to be worth it, and they are going to have to demonstrate that. Right now, they are not doing that," the outlet reported. The source also claimed "there have been ongoing concerns about the NGA among the Democratic governors and staff, off and on, for years."MESSAGING WAR OVER TRUMP'S 'BIG BEAUTIFUL BILL' HEATS UP BETWEEN DEMOCRATS, REPUBLICANSThe NGA has existed as a forum for bipartisan collaboration among governors since 1908. The organization lists all 50 governors as well as leaders of five U.S. territories as members.Eric Wohlschlegel, NGA communications director, told Fox News Digital the group "exists to bring governors from both parties together around shared priorities."Amid the Walz-led controversy, Wohlschlegel said NGAs "mission hasnt changed.""Every public statement NGA issues reflects bipartisan consensus," he said. "So far this year, all but one statement has had that consensus, and when governors dont agree, we simply dont issue one. Thats how we preserve our role as a bipartisan convener, a principle we wont compromise."DNC CHAIR SAYS 'WE WANT EVERYONE' IN DEMOCRATIC PARTY INCLUDING 'LEFTISTS' LIKE MAMDANIA source familiar with the situation blamed the controversy on "Democratic infighting, unspoken campaign jockeying and a few anonymous voices looking to reshape a nonpartisan institution into a political one."That source pointed out that, despite all the noise about controversy, the NGAs summer meeting in Colorado Springs this weekend is expected to have "record turnout" with 13 Republican and seven Democratic leaders attending. They also noted that "no governors are on the record expressing discontent with the NGA. No allegations of misconduct, governance failure or mismanagement have been raised.""Whats behind the noise?" the source added. "Theres an internal power struggle currently and no consensus among Democrats right now on how to lead, how to message or how to govern in a divided environment."Several Democratic governors are vying for national attention, testing messages for future campaigns rather than collaborating on consensus governance," the source added. "The NGAs bipartisan model is working exactly as its supposed to.DEMOCRATIC PARTY'S AUTOPSY REPORT OF 2024 ELECTION WILL AVOID ASKING IF HARRIS SHOULD HAVE RUN"When a party cant agree with itself, it becomes easy to take shots at bipartisan institutions that dont serve short-term political goals."Fox News Digital reached out to the offices of Democratic Colorado Gov. Jared Polis, the outgoing NGA chair, and Republican Gov. Kevin Stitt of Oklahoma, the incoming chair, for comment on the Walz mutiny.Though not addressing the controversy directly, Conor Cahill, a spokesperson for Polis, told Fox News Digital the governor "has been honored" to lead the NGA and to "work across the aisle with governors on education, permitting reform, standing up to federal efforts to strip away gubernatorial authority around the National Guard and elevating the priorities of states."He added that "during this polarizing time, bipartisan organizations are needed more than ever, and NGA must continue to demonstrate value to all governors and effectively communicate governors' opinions on various matters with the public and the federal government."Abegail Cave, a spokesperson for Sitt, who will become NGA chair this weekend, told Fox News Digital "people seem to forget NGA is a bipartisan organization, not a political one.""Coming to bipartisan consensus is difficult, but governors from across the political spectrum are addressing the real challenges facing Americans every day," Cave said. She said that Stitt "looks forward to leading this organization and finding more areas of collaboration in the coming year."Fox News Digital also reached out to the offices of Walz and Kelly but did not receive responses by the time of publication.0 Comments 0 Shares 20 Views 0 Reviews

WWW.FOXNEWS.COMGrammy-winning artist says she was encouraged to have an abortion after unexpected pregnancyR&B singer-and-songwriter Victoria Mont revealed she was pressured to have an abortion after learning she was pregnant with her daughter, during an appearance on former First Lady Michelle Obamas podcast on Wednesday.Mont, who won Grammys in 2024 for best new artist, best R&B album and best engineered album, shared about how motherhood impacted her career after giving birth to her daughter Hazel in 2021.Not everyone in her professional circle was supportive of her pregnancy, she recalled. The singer explained it was difficult to share the celebratory news because she understood it might not be received well by her business associates.'THE VIEW' HOSTS DEFEND MOTHERHOOD AFTER POP STAR CHAPPELL ROAN CLAIMS FRIENDS WITH KIDS 'ARE IN HELL'"So when I got pregnant, I was an independent artist. I was working with this company called Platoon working out of the UK. And when you're an artist, though you're a human, you're technically the business," Mont said on the podcast. "So, to have to explain to someone who is a partner in your business that your business may slow down because of pregnancy, is difficult, but it's also something that you're supposed to feel celebratory about."Platoon is a London-based music distribution and creative services company which helps boost independent artists before they sign deals with major labels. After breaking the news to her business partner over Zoom, Mont said she was given a presentation telling her how difficult and expensive it was to raise a child."In retrospect, it was really, really disheartening," Mont admitted. "I had a person on my team, though the intentions were good, really, really hurt my feelings because they made a PowerPoint presentation to me about how difficult it will [sic] be for me."PUSSYCAT DOLLS SINGER SHARES ABORTION EXPERIENCES, WARNS, YOU WILL REGRET IT YOUR WHOLE LIFE"And the finale of the presentation was, what's the rush? So, it felt like an encouragement to get an abortion. So that was really, really hurtful," she shared.Mont called it a "very emotional" experience but said it left her with a "fight" to prove that motherhood didnt have to derail her career."And I walked out of that meetingwith that same fight that I had when I left home. Im going to do this. Its my body, and Im going to make it work even if its hard," she recalled. She didnt believe the person meant to "harm" her but wanted her to understand that having a child was a "big decision" that would impact her career.Ultimately, the incident came "full circle," she explained, because one of her most popular songs, "On My Mama," she wrote about becoming a mother."She's been the biggest blessing," Mont said of her daughter. "I had these preconceived notions that having a child would suspend my career or make things even more difficult, but God just was like, nope, but it's been so fun."Fox News Digital reached out to Platoon for comment.0 Comments 0 Shares 25 Views 0 Reviews

WWW.FOXNEWS.COMBills' James Cook firm on contract demands at training camp: 'I deserve what I want'James Cook may be present at Buffalo Bills training camp this week, but he wont be backing down when it comes to contract negotiations with the franchise.Cook, the NFL's leader in rushing touchdowns last season, made his stance clear after participating in the first two days of camp."We have talks," he said, via ESPN. "I mean, I deserve what I want, I need, and its going to eventually happen."CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COMReporters followed up, asking Cook if he feels confident the Bills will meet his contract extension demands."I mean, however it happens, its going to get done. Wherever it happens at," he said. The 25-year-old doesnt lack confidence, and that was seen this offseason when he went live on Instagram with a caption of "15 mill [per] year."BILLS ROOKIE MAXWELL HAIRSTON FACES SEXUAL ASSAULT ACCUSATION, LAWSUIT BEFORE FIRST NFL TRAINING CAMP: REPORTIf that is the case, Cook would be tied with Baltimore Ravens veteran Derrick Henry for the third-highest average annual value at the running back position in the NFL.Cook has posted previously on social media about his contract situation, and he noted Thursday he has no regrets about going public with how he feels.Bills GM Brandon Beane discussed Cooks situation with reporters at the start of training camp."Sometimes you can't get on the same page, or sometimes you're trying to fit it in," Beane explained, per ESPN. "There's times guys have left here that we really wanted. We just couldn't make it work. But I can tell you, I'm hopeful, when we're sitting here at next year's training camp that James Cook is out there practicing and still representing the red, white and blue."Cook has one more year left on his rookie deal with the Bills, which took him in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft out of Georgia. If Cook and the Bills cant reach an extension by next season, he would be a free agent unless the team decides to slap its franchise tag on him.Unlike other players, past and present, Cook was participating in the Bills mandatory offseason practices while his contract negotiations were ongoing."Its my job," he said about reporting. "I got to participate so I wont get fined and just come out here and just show them that Im ready to go and earn what I got to go get."Cook called the Bills a "great organization" and one he wants to continue playing for. But hes made it clear where he stands, and it doesnt seem like hes willing to leave any money on the table. To go along with his 16 rushing touchdowns last season, Cook rushed for 1,009, his second straight year cracking the 1,000-yard mark after totaling 1,122 in a breakout 2023 campaign. While its clear Cook is the lead running back on the depth chart, Ray Davis and Ty Johnson do spell him for snaps and have showcased abilities to help the Bills dynamic offense get down the field and into the end zone.Cook played just 48% of offensive snaps over his 16 Bills games last season.Follow Fox News Digitalssports coverage on X, and subscribe tothe Fox News Sports Huddle newsletter.0 Comments 0 Shares 45 Views 0 Reviews

WWW.FOXNEWS.COMColumbia University janitors settle case after being held hostage by anti-Israel rioters on campusTwo Columbia University maintenance staff workers who alleged they were held hostage by anti-Israel protesters during a riot last year and were forced to scrub swastikas have settled a complaint with the Ivy League school.Lester Wilson and Mario Torres settled with the university for an undisclosed sum, days after Columbia announced a $220 million settlement with the Trump administration for civil rights violations and racially discriminatory practices in an effort to restore federal funding, the New York Post reported. The settlement included $200 million over discrimination claims and another $20 million to employees who alleged they were victims of civil rights violations.Wilson and Torres filed a complaint with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission(EEOC), which sparked a civil rights probe into the school.TRUMP SECURES $221M COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY SETTLEMENT OVER ALLEGED CIVIL RIGHTS VIOLATIONSThe two men are still moving ahead with a lawsuit against 40 protesters they allege held them hostage inside the school's Hamilton Hall building. The pair, who have reportedly worked at the university for five years, claim they were assaulted as protesters stormed the campus building April 29, 2024. The protesters allegedly "terrorized the two men into the early morning of April 30th, assaulted and battered them, held them against their will," the lawsuit states. When the janitors attempted to "defend" Hamilton Hall from the individuals, they were called "Jew-lovers," "Jew-worker" and "Zionist." At the time, the protesters renamed the building "Hinds Hall."Prior to taking over Hamilton Hall, the protesters allegedly agreed they would "intimidate, harass, bribe, threaten, and/or assault and batter such employees" who posed a threat to their plan, the lawsuit said.TRUMP ADMIN ALLEGES COLUMBIA VIOLATED CIVIL RIGHTS LAW WITH 'DELIBERATE INDIFFERENCE' TO CAMPUS PROTESTSAt one point, Torres reportedly used a fire extinguisher to defend himself and was hit on the back by protesters while Wilson was shoved and had furniture pushed into him."Im going to get twenty guys up here to f--- you up'," one masked rioter who shoved Torres threatened, according to the complaint. Both custodians claimed they had sustained physical injuries and PTSD as a result of the Hamilton Hall takeover. They have returned to work since, a source told the Post. WWW.FOXNEWS.COMRaiders cut ties with defensive tackle Christian Wilkins in shocking move, igniting feud over bonus moneyChristian Wilkins is considered one of the NFL's top interior defensive linemen, at least when he is healthy enough to play. After signing a lucrative four-year contract with the Las Vegas Raiders last offseason, Wilkins played in just five games in 2024 due to a foot injury. On Thursday, Wilkins' run with the Raiders ended.CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COM"We have decided it is in the best interest of the organization to move on from Christian Wilkins, and he has been informed of his release from the team," the team said in a statement.Wilkins was released under the designation of terminated vested veteran. There is uncertainty whether Wilkins will receive a sizable amount of money from his contract with the Raiders. The deal Wilkins agreed to in 2024 reportedly included $84.75 million in guarantees. Wilkins was still owed around $35.2 million of that guaranteed money, but the Raiders voided the defensive lineman's contract.NFL TEAMS OPEN TRAINING CAMP, STARTING THE LONG JOURNEY TO SUPER BOWL 60Wilkins responded to the move by filing a grievance with the NFLPA, ESPN reported."This franchise has a Commitment to Excellence on and off the field. With no clear path or plan for future return to play from Christian, this transaction is necessary for the entire organization to move forward and prepare for the new season," the statement from the Raiders concluded. The guaranteed money dispute appears to stem from how Wilkins was treated and how he handled his rehab from the foot injury.Wilkins has 22 sacks since he was a first-round NFL Draft selection out of Clemson. He spent the first five seasons of his NFL career with the Miami Dolphins.Follow Fox News Digitals sports coverage on X, and subscribe to the Fox News Sports Huddle newsletter.0 Comments 0 Shares 25 Views 0 Reviews
