Jimmy Buffett's widow demands removal of advisor in $275M trust showdown
The battle over Jimmy Buffett's $275 million fortune has gone cross-country.Buffett's widow, Jane Buffett, demanded the musician's financial advisor be removed as a co-trustee from the couple's marital trust in a counterclaim filed July 21. The tug-of-war over the singer's finances reportedly began shortly after Buffett's death in 2023.Jane claimed Richard Mozenter failed to distribute the funds in the trust in her best interests, according to a counterclaim filed July 21 and obtained by Fox News Digital."Jane will not play into Mr. Mozenters hands by litigating this dispute in two separate courts across the country, which would drain the very trust money that Jimmy specifically set aside for her care," Jane's attorney, Matt Porpora, said in a statement to Fox News Digital.JIMMY BUFFETT'S $275M ESTATE BECOMES CENTER OF HEATED INHERITANCE DISPUTE"Instead, Jane is bringing the fight to Florida, where she and Jimmy called home," he said. "Jane is confident she will prevail regardless of where her claims are heard, and her decision to move her claims from California to Florida illustrates that she is the only co-trustee looking to conserve not waste trust assets."Jane's latest filing accused Mozenter of "repeatedly" failing in his duty to inform her of the marital trust's assets and investments. The widow claimed that despite this failure, the financial advisor had made her pay "unreasonable fees and costs in the context of the services provided."In his own lawsuit, filed June 2, Mozenter claimed that Jimmy had set up the marital trust with the financial advisor as a trustee because he was worried about his wife's "ability to manage and control his assets."Mozenter asked the Florida court to remove Jane as a co-trustee.JIMMY BUFFETT'S BUSINESS EMPIRE WENT BEYOND SEARCHING FOR HIS LOST SHAKER OF SALTIn her original filing, Jane's legal team claimed Mozenter began "stonewalling" her roughly one month after Buffett's death."Rather than help his recently-widowed client understand her finances, Mr. Mozenter spent the next 16 months stonewalling and making excuses for why he could not yet provide the requested information," the filing, obtained by Fox News Digital, read.Mozenter eventually gave Jane an estimate that the marital trust would generate less than $2 million in net income annually, a rate of return of less than 1%, according to the filing. He allegedly told Jane the marital trust would not cover her expenses. Mozenter recommended she make "adjustments" or sell her own real estate to make up the difference.LIKE WHAT YOURE READING? Jillian Michaels wants 'a hell of a lot more banned from our food supply' to protect Americans
A famed fitness guru is a fan of the Make America Healthy Again movement and wants to see Robert Kennedy Jr.'s vision come to fruition.Fitness trainer, entrepreneur and media personality Jillian Michaels spoke to Fox News Digital following her speech at the Turning Point USA Student Action Summit in Tampa, Florida. Michaels is an advocate for a complete overhaul of American consumption of food and pharmaceuticals."I would love to see all the things that Kennedy campaigned on," Michaels said. "The MAHA movement, they're up against four of the biggest lobbies in the country. So, Big Ag, Big Food, Big Pharma, Big Insurance."FDA BANS RED FOOD DYE DUE TO POTENTIAL CANCER RISKMichaels also expressed her support for alternative methods of treatment."I would love to see psychedelics into the FDA so that it can be used therapeutically for veterans, for people with addiction under medical use," she said. She also believes ingredient bans should go beyond food dyes."Honestly, I would like to see a hell of a lot more banned from our food supply than just red number 40," she said, referring to the widely used synthetic food dye.As changes occur, Michaels acknowledged that all changes won't happen instantly."You're certainly not going to get it all overnight, but [what] we need to appreciate is the small wins along the way," she said. However, Michaels encouraged people to take accountability for their own health, "and ultimately, at the end of the day, which we're not going to get from the government, you can create in your own life by taking agency."YOUTUBE STAR DOCTOR MIKE HAS WARNING FOR RFK JR.'S MAHA MOVEMENTIn January, the FDA banned red dye called Red 3, or erythrosine from foods, dietary supplements and ingested medicines after being linked to cancer, as Fox News Digital previously reported. Food manufacturers have until 2027 to remove that dye from their products, while drug manufacturers will have until the following year.Artificial food colorings were originally manufactured from coal tar, while most synthetic food dyes today are made from petroleum, or crude oil, according to the American Chemical Society (ACS) website. As the HHS noted in a press release in April, among the steps to be taken are "establishing a national standard and timeline for the food industry to transition from petrochemical-based dyes to natural alternatives; initiating the process to revoke authorization for two synthetic food colorings Citrus Red No. 2 and Orange B within the coming months; and working with industry to eliminate six remaining synthetic dyes FD&C Green No. 3, FD&C Red No. 40, FD&C Yellow No. 5, FD&C Yellow No. 6, FD&C Blue No. 1, and FD&C Blue No. 2 from the food supply by the end of next year."Fox News' Ashley J. Smart wearable tracks your hydration in real time
We all know staying hydrated is important, but most of us don't actually track how much water we need. The signs of dehydration, like dizziness, fatigue, or confusion, can creep in before you even realize you're in trouble. By the time you feel thirsty, you're already behind. That's what makes the new wearable hydration sensor so valuable. Instead of guessing, this device provides real-time data, allowing you to stay ahead of dehydration, rather than just react to it.Sign up for my FREE CyberGuy ReportGet my best tech tips, urgent security alerts, and exclusive deals delivered straight to your inbox. Plus, youll get instant access to my Ultimate Scam Survival Guide - free when you join myCYBERGUY.COM/NEWSLETTER.Developed by researchers at the University of Texas at Austin, the sensor is designed to detect early signs of dehydration using a method called bioimpedance. This method sends a small, painless electrical current through your bicep and measures how easily that current flows through your tissue. Because water is a good conductor of electricity, well-hydrated tissue lets the current pass easily. When you're dehydrated, your tissues resist the current, and the sensor detects that. The sensor connects wirelessly to a smartphone app, delivering instant feedback about your hydration level. You don't have to stop what you're doing or wait for lab results. The data is continuous and always available. This isn't just cool tech, it's practical. For athletes pushing through workouts in the heat, the sensor could help them avoid fatigue or cramping. For firefighters or police officers wearing heavy gear in scorching temperatures, it offers a way to stay safe on the job. Even office workers who forget to drink water during long meetings could benefit from a reminder when their hydration levels drop. The researchers believe the wearable hydration sensor could also play a major role in health care. Patients with kidney problems or cardiovascular issues often need to monitor hydration closely. Until now, that meant invasive tests or relying on symptoms. This sensor could make hydration tracking simple, accurate, and non-invasive.To make sure the sensor really works, the research team ran controlled experiments. They had participants take a diuretic to promote fluid loss and tracked hydration using the sensor. At the same time, they collected urine samples to confirm results. The sensor's data closely matched the chemical markers in the samples. That means the technology is not only accurate, but it can also be trusted even during normal daily activities like walking or working. Study co-author Matija Jankovic explained that arm bioimpedance was highly sensitive to changes in hydration. It also aligned with whole-body hydration, making it a reliable alternative to traditional testing.Standard ways of checking hydration, like urine tests or blood work, are time-consuming and not practical for everyday use. Some commercial tools already exist, but they tend to be bulky or require users to stay in one spot. They're just not built for real life. That's where this sensor has the edge. It's compact, portable, and constantly running in the background. It works while you move, exercise, or even just sit at your desk.Right now, the sensor tracks relative changes in hydration, which is a powerful tool on its own. But the research team wants to take it further. They plan to collect data from a larger population to create baseline values for absolute hydration levels. This step would make the device even more accurate and personal. They're also exploring new wearable designs, such as breathable e-tattoos and sweat-wicking sensors, that could offer better comfort and longer wear. Future models might track hydration in other areas of the body, like the forearm or thigh. The team is optimistic that these innovations will make hydration tracking even more seamless and accessible. Lead researcher Nanshu Lu, who has worked on similar wearable health tech in the past, says this is only the beginning. Her vision is to bring simple, real-time hydration tracking to everyone, no matter their lifestyle or profession.Staying hydrated just got a whole lot easier. With a wearable hydration sensor, you no longer have to rely on guesswork or vague reminders to drink water. Whether you're powering through a workout, focused on a demanding job, or just caught up in a busy day, this device keeps tabs on your hydration status in real time. That means you get clear, instant feedback-before dehydration slows you down. While this technology is still in the research and development phase, the early results are promising. It's not yet available to the public, but the groundwork is in place. Once it moves into production, this kind of real-time hydration tracking could become a part of daily life, helping you stay healthier, more alert, and ahead of the curve.Dehydration isn't always obvious, but it can quickly become serious. The wearable hydration sensor puts the power to monitor your health back in your hands. It's accurate, non-invasive, and built for daily life. Whether you're training for a marathon or just trying to stay sharp at work, knowing your hydration status in real time could make all the difference.Would you trust a wearable sensor to tell you when it's time to hydrate, or do you think thirst is still the best signal? DNC chair says 'we want everyone' in Democratic Party including 'leftists' like Mamdani
EXCLUSIVE - Democratic National Committee (DNC) chair Ken Martin takes issue with the messaging push by Republicans to try and anchor Zohran Mamdani to vulnerable Democrats running in next year's elections.Asked about the 33-year-old democratic socialist candidate who last month stunned the political world by capturing the Democratic Party mayoral nomination in New York City, Republican National Committee (RNC) chair Michael Whatley last week claimed that Mamdani "is the face of the new Democratic Party." But Martin, in an exclusive national interview with Fox News Digital on Wednesday, pushed back."That's just ridiculous. We have many faces of the Democratic Party all over the country,"Martin said.RNC CHAIR CLAIMS MAMDANI FACE OF THE NEW DEMOCRATIC PARTYHe then listed well-known party leaders, including Govs. Gavin Newsom of California, Josh Shapiro of Pennsylvania, Gretchen Whitmer of Michigan, Tim Walz of Minnesota, and Andy Beshear of Kentucky, as well as Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont (an independent who is part of the Senate Democrats' leadership), and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York.REPUBLICANS RELENTLESSLY USE MAMDANI AS SOCIALIST CUDGEL TO BASH VULNERABLE DEMOCRATSMamdani, a Ugandan-born state assemblyman from the New York City borough of Queens, grabbed national attention after topping former Gov. Andrew Cuomo and nine other candidates last month in the Democratic primary, taking a big step towards becoming the first Muslim and first millennial mayor of the nation's most populous city. Republicans now see him as a source of ammunition as they aim to portray Democrats as far-left radicals."Everybody who wants to lead that party wants to lead it to the leftthey're moving away from the American public right now at a pretty rapid clip," Whatley argued. But Martin highlighted that "the Democratic Party is a big tent party. We have conservative Democrats, we have centrist Democrats, we have progressives, and we have these leftists.""We want everyone to be in that party. And, you know, that includes Zohran Mamdani, that includes other folks on all sides of the ideological spectrum," Martin added.Martin, who was elected in early February as the new DNC chair, said "that's the differencebetween the Democratic Party and the Republican Party. The Republicans expect people to march lockstep. If there's any dissent, they're drummed out of the party. They're pushed out of the party. I reject that type of leadership."Meanwhile, Mamdani has given Republicans plenty of fodder to use to go on the offensive. He's proposed eliminating fares to ride New York City's vast bus system, making CUNY (City University of New York) "tuition-free," freezing rents on municipal housing, offering "free childcare" for children up to age 5, and setting up government-run grocery stores.TRUMP CLAIMS NYC FACES DIRE CONSEQUENCES IF COMMUNIST MAMDANI BECOMES MAYORRepublicans have used recent viral videos of Mamdani in their attacks. They include a 2020 photo Mamdani posted online that shows him flipping off a statue of Christopher Columbus, stories about comments Mamdani made last December when he said as mayor he would arrest Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and his recent comments in a cable news interview in which he said "I have many critiques of capitalism."Mamdani's comments on Israel have also caused controversy, including his resistance during the primary campaign to condemn the phrase "globalize the intifada," which is viewed by many people as a call to violence against Jewish people."I've said very clearly, I reject any hate speech in our party. I will always call out antisemitism when I see it, Islamophobia when I see it, homophobia, when I see it. There's no space or quarter within the Democratic Party for that type of speech," Martin said when asked by Fox News if he found any of Mamdani's proposals or comments troubling."'Globalized the Intifada,' of course, it's a call to incite violence, and we all have a responsibility to reject that, and I will," he added.Martin, a former chair of Minnesota's Democratic Party, noted he was back home recently to attend the funeral of a former Minnesota House Speaker and her husband, who were shot and killed in their home. The DNC chair, who called the two people killed "really close friends," said, "They were assassinated because of their political beliefs. And we have a responsibility right now, I think, leaders of either party, and frankly, leaders of any organization in this country, when we see that type of rhetoric and hate speech that's inciting people to violence, to call it out unequivocally and all the time."

Rules keeping drones on leash could loosen with deregulation proposal from Congress
FIRST ON FOX: A new move by Congress would unleash civilian drone use across Americas skies by establishing rules to allow them to be flown beyond a users line of sight and using AI for approval to do so.Under current law, many drones cant fly beyond the visual line of sight (BVLOS) without a waiver a massive hindrance to emergency response, agriculture, deliveries and infrastructure inspection, according to Rep. Jen Kiggans, R-Va.Her LIFT Act, introduced in the House on Thursday, would require Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy to establish set performance and safety standards for BVLOS operations and review current aviation standards, which were designed with manned aircraft in mind.It would also require the Transportation secretary to deploy artificial intelligence to assist with processing waiver applications to allow civilian drones to fly BVLOS.HEGSETH TEARS UP RED TAPE, ORDERS PENTAGON TO BEGIN DRONE SURGE AT TRUMP'S COMMANDIndustry operators have long pushed for new BVLOS policy to replace the current system in which individuals must apply for waivers with the Federal Aviation Adminsitration (FAA) through a costly, cumbersome process to fly beyond the line of sight. They say it has delayed large-scale implementation of drones to perform tasks like inspecting powerlines and pipelines or carting medical supplies between facilities.Kiggans told Fox News Digital her reasoning for introducing the legislation was to spur drone development in the U.S.: "China builds five times as many drones as we do here in America."DRONE INCURSIONS ON US BASES COME UNDER INTENSE SCRUTINY AS DEVICES PROVE LETHALITY OVERSEASIn March, Duffy said that new rules for expanding drone use for deliveries and other services would be coming "in relatively short order."Kiggans said she too has been wondering when the new DOT guidelines will come out. She hopes the LIFT Act will apply pressure to act soon: "Sometimes putting that in writing, something from from Congress, kind of will motivate them to actually get it done."Additionally, the bill establishes a new pilot program to offer grants to state and local governments for drone programs, ensuring they have a stake in future air mobility systems and not just large private companies. The bill is meant to codify transportation portions of President Donald Trumps June 6 executive order, Unleashing American Drone Dominance. With bipartisan momentum building around drone applications, Congress may soon decide if American skies are ready for a higher-tech future. But the public remains spooked by a high-profile commercial plane crash in Washington, D.C., earlier this year. Safety regulations will need to move cautiously to account for the expected increase in air traffic."Theres definitely some concern," said Kiggans. "I worry about that between our military aviation that we have in our district.""Its something that we need to be regulating but I think theres a way that we can all coexist. There needs to be some clear laws in place, and they need to be educated to drone users and aviators."

House to vote on censuring Dem rep charged in ICE facility incident
A House Republican put forward a resolution calling for a vote to censure the New Jersey Democrat who was federally indicted for allegedly obstructing Homeland Security agents at an immigration facility in May.The measure from Clay Higgins of Louisiana states that Rep. LaMonica McIvers "continued service on the Committee on Homeland Security, which is charged with oversight of Federal immigration enforcement and other national security matters, would represent a significant conflict of interest" and that she should be removed fromthat committee as well."Clay Higgins is a bigot who wants to be back in the news," McIver told Axios in a statement provided by a spokesperson."This resolution aims to kick me off the committee that presides over the Department of Homeland Security and shame me for doing the oversight work that is my job," she reportedly added. "Good luck, Clay."DEMOCRAT CONGRESSWOMAN PLEADS NOT GUILTY FOR NEWARK ICE FACILITY INCIDENT, RALLIES SUPPORTERSThe resolution mentions how McIver was hit with a "three-count indictment by a Federal grand jury for assaulting, resisting, impeding, and interfering with Federal officers" during the May 9 incident at the Delaney Hall Federal Immigration Facility in Newark, N.J.It states that "clause 1 of rule XXIII of the Rules of the House of Representatives provides, 'A Member, Delegate, Resident Commissioner, officer, or employee of the House shall behave at all times in a manner that shall reflect creditably on the House'" and that "such actions of a Member of the House of Representatives do not reflect creditably on the House."During the incident, McIver and two other members of Congress were conducting a congressional oversight visit that coincided with an immigration protest, according to a Justice Department press release.AfterNewark Mayor Ras Barakaentered the facilitys secured area, federal agents warned him to leave. However, when officers tried to arrest Baraka, McIver allegedly blocked them, putting her arms around the mayor, and "slammed her forearm" into one officer while grabbing another.MACE FILES RESOLUTION TO EXPEL HOUSE DEMOCRAT AFTER HER ARREST AT ICE DETENTION FACILITY PROTESTAfter pleading not guilty during a court appearance last month, McIver said "At the end of the day this is all about political intimidation."The Trump administration and his colleagues or cronies, or whatever you want to call them, have weaponized the federal government. They weaponized the Department of Justice and anybody who stands up to them, anyone who criticizes them, anyone who fights back against them finds themselves in these hairs that we are in today," she added.McIver is now headed for trial on Nov. 10.Higgins told Axios that he waited until just before the House of Representatives 5-weekrecess to see if Democrats would remove McIver from her committee assignment.House Republicans rules require indicted members to give up all their committee assignments, while Democrats only require those individuals to surrender committee leadership positions, according to Axios.McIver "should not be participating on the committee that has oversight and voting authority over the branch of federal government that she's been indicted for committing crimes against," Higgins told the outlet.Fox News' Jasmine Baehr and Michael Dorgan contributed to this report.

Is tequila good for you? Expert reveals what makes it a 'reasonable choice' for drinkers
As the summer heat drives many Americans to reach for a cold drink after a hard day's work, some may wonder: What's the healthiest alcohol to sip if you're not cutting it out entirely? Some health-conscious Americans opt for liquors instead of beer and cider to avoid excess calories. Others avoid red wines to steer clear of hangover-inducing tannins.Among the rising favorites is tequila, especially as it's celebrated Thursday on National Tequila Day.EXPERTS COMPARE NUTRITIONAL BENEFITS OF TACOS AND SLIDERS AND OFFER HEALTHY PREP TIPSThe distilled Mexican spirit, known for its starring role in margaritas and tequila sunrises, is often seen as a cleaner, potentially healthier choice. But is it really?Lauren Manaker, a registered dietitian based in South Carolina, shared with Fox News Digital some of the myths and facts surrounding tequila.Manaker said that pure tequila, made from 100% agave, can be a "reasonable choice" for health-minded imbibers."It's naturally lower in sugar and doesn't contain additives, which might make it easier on your body compared to sugary cocktails or heavily processed liquors," the health expert said.Still, Manaker noted that tequila is not hangover-proof, despite popular belief."No alcohol is truly 'hangover-proof,'" the dietitian said. "Hangovers depend on how much you drink, how hydrated you are and what you pair it with not just the type of alcohol."Even so, tequila isn't necessarily healthy either.'FRIDGE CIGARETTE' IS GEN Z'S NEW DIET COKE OBSESSION THAT CONCERNS HEALTH EXPERTSManaker said that all alcohol is classified as a Group 1 carcinogenby theInternational Agency for Research on Cancer.CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR OUR LIFESTYLE NEWSLETTER"This means it's in the same category as tobacco and asbestos not because it's equally risky, but because there's enough evidence suggesting it's link to increased cancer risk, especially with heavy or regular consumption," she said."So, while a drink here and there is fine for most people, it's worth keeping the big picture in mind."For more Lifestyle articles, visit foxnews.com/lifestyleBelow are Manaker's top tips for enjoying National Tequila Day without wrecking your health.Quantity matters:Moderation is key. Stick to one drink for women or two for men per day max, as recommended by health guidelines. Overindulging is where the trouble starts.Mind your mixers:Skip sugary mixers (like margarita mix) and opt for soda water, fresh lime or a splash of grapefruit juice for a lighter option.Eat before you drink:Drinking on an empty stomach is a recipe for disaster. A balanced meal with protein, healthy fats and carbs can help slow alcohol absorption.Hydrate:Alcohol dehydrates you, so drink water before, during and after. A good rule of thumb is one glass of water for every alcoholic drink."And remember, the best way to avoid a hangover is to drink less or not at all," Manaker said.

Arch Manning receives comparison to legendary Texas quarterback
Arch Manning will enter his first season as the Texas Longhorns starting quarterback with high expectations, even though hes only started two games in his young career.Mack Brown, a former head coach at Texas and North Carolina, made another wild comparison to Manning, likening him to legendary Longhorns quarterback Vince Young.CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COM"He also seems like he listens. But I like it. He's a whole lot like Vince at the same age."Young didnt need to throw too much in his sophomore season as the team rode the back of Cedric Benson in the backfield. It was his junior season in which he broke out, won the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year Award and led the Longhorns to a stunning national championship victory over USC. Hes the son of Cooper Manning, who was a high school football great in his own right, and the nephew of Super Bowl champions Peyton and Eli Manning. Hes also the grandson of Archie Manning. The lineage is there, but soon it will be time to shut up and play football. He had 939 passing yards and nine touchdown passes last season.
