Trump's DC crime success puts spotlight on Chicago's deadly 'war zone'
President Donald Trumps focusoncrimeacross America is timelyandnecessary. Its epidemic in many blue cities in our country, andsomething must, andcan, be done about it. His crackdown in Washington, D.C., proves that dramatic reductions incrimein cities acclimatized to perpetual lawlessnessandviolence are possible, butonly if you have the political courage to do so.Next up isChicago, another city plagued by non-stop violentcrime. Trumps focus there has forced local leaders to defend their lax policiesanddeny the reality of rampantcrimein their cities claims that ring hollow to terrorized local residents. Before exposing thecrimerates inChicagoandthe lax policies that have caused them, lets look at the results of the D.C.crimecrackdown.In Washington, D.C., since the operation beganonAug. 7, arrests are up,homicides are down nearly 60%,andviolentcrimehas decreased by 17%. Inone two-week stretch, there wasntone homicide, which is, sadly, remarkable.TRUMP PRANKS DEMOCRATS INTO OPPOSING SOMETHING THEY'VE ALWAYS CLAIMED TO SUPPORTDespite this impressive decline, more effort is needed. There have been106 homicides, 984 reported robberiesand3,157 car thefts this year alone. Those numbers are unacceptable in any city, especially the nations capital.Lax local laws passed by the D.C. City Councilandlocal judges who give criminals a pass every day are major contributors to the citys culture of violence. To fix these gaps, Congress is considering severalproposalsto fix the criminal justice system in D.C. permanently. As a developer who owns property inChicago, Trump is quite familiar with the chroniccrimecarnage in the Windy City. The numbers speak for themselves, despite what Gov. JB PritzkerandMayor Brandon Johnson declare. To put this carnage into perspective, between 2003and2010, 3,481 Americans were killed in action in Iraq, an average of 435 a year. In the war in Afghanistan, between 2001and2014, 1,833 Americans were killed in action, an average of 141 per year. InChicago, between 2017and2024, there were 5,220 homicides, an average of 652 per year!Chicagois a war zone, pureandsimple.PROGRESSIVE CITIES FACE BILLIONS IN ECONOMIC LOSSES AS RETAIL CRIME SURGES 93% SINCE 2019Like in most big blue cities across America, there is a stark difference incrimerates between the richestandpoorest parts of town. White liberal elites in the safest parts of town are oblivious to, or at least immune from, the constant drumbeat of violentcrimein their own city.Chicagois a perfect example.District 3, which includes Hyde ParkandWashington Park, had a homicide rate of 80.68 per 100,000 residents, according to 2024ChicagoPolice Departmentdata. District 6 (Englewood, Roseland, Woodlawn) had a rate of 73.43 per 100,000 residents.AndDistrict 11 (Humbolt Park, West Garfield Park, Near West Side), had a homicide rate of 72.86 per 100,000 residents.Compare those killing fields to Jefferson Park (1.97), Lincoln Square (2.29),andUptown (3.27) home to doctors, lawyers, venture capitalistsandother professionals. Not surprisingly, liberal elites who live in those areas tend to be theones who complain the loudest when Trump engages in increased federal enforcement, including offering much-needed assistance to stateandlocal officials.TRUMP IS TRYING TO SAVE 100,000 AMERICAN LIVES WHILE DEMOCRATS LET CITIES SPIRAL OUT OF CONTROLIts also no coincidence that the first George Soros-backed "progressive" prosecutor, Kim Foxx, was inChicago. As I detailed in mybook, Foxx was hoisted from obscurity into office in 2017 with almost $700,000 of Soros-connected financial support. Foxx unleashed a tsunami of pro-criminal, anti-victim, anti-business policiesonthe city as its top prosecutor, causing a dramatic increase in violentcrime. In the six years prior to that, there was an average of 510 homicides per year (20112016). In the three years before Foxx was elected, 4,460 rapes were reported to the police, an average of 1,486 per year. During Foxxs tenure (20172022), 10,789 rapes were reported to the police, an average of 1,804 per year. Two weeks into the job, Foxx announced that she had raised the bar for prosecuting felony shoplifting from $300 per incident to $1,000 per incident, even though the law in Illinois was clear: felony shoplifting starts at $300.CLICK HERE FOR MORE FOX NEWS OPINIONWhen she made that announcement, there were 101 people in Cook County Jailonfelony retail theft charges. Ali Abid, a staff attorney at theChicagoAppleseed Fund for Justice, said, "I think this is a really positive step." Abids boss, Malcolm Rich, wasonFoxxs transition team with then-Sen. Kamala Harris. But Rob Karr, the president of the Illinois Retail Merchants Association, said he was "extraordinarily shockedanddisappointed," adding Foxxs rewriting of the laws "sends a message that retail theft is victimlessandnot serious this is tantamount to declaring open seasononretail stores."By 2019, three years into Foxxs social experiment, Karr was proved right. Retail theft reports had skyrocketed across the city. In the ritzy Rush Street shopping district, reported incidents had more than doubled.AndonState Street, retail theft cases were up 32%.President Trumps use of the bully pulpit to highlight the highcrimerates ofChicagoandother blue cities is welcome news. Gone are the days of feel-good slogans about "reimagining" reformand"mass incarceration." The Soros rogue prosecutor movement has failed, as has the "defund the police"andcashless bail experiment.Americans of all stripes wantanddeserve to live in safe neighborhoods. Thankfully, the national mood has shifted in the right directiononcrime.CLICK HERE TO READ MORE FROM CHARLES "CULLY" STIMSON

NASA at a crossroads: Trumps plan to refocus, explore and beat China
Since its founding in 1958, NASA has stood as a symbol of American ingenuity and ambition. Coming of age in Cold War urgency, the agency made history by achieving what many believed was impossible: landing Americans on the Moon. That defining moment an American boot print on lunar soil and the iconic words, "one giant leap for mankind" marked the height of U.S. leadership in space.Yet today, NASA finds itself adrift. While NASA has several modern achievements, such as establishing the longest sustained human presence in low Earth orbit and sending multiple rovers and landers to Mars, deep space human exploration has been stagnant for decades. No American astronaut has ventured beyond low Earth orbit since 1972.The agency is weighed down by expensive, delayed programs, bureaucratic overhead and growing emphasis on agendas unrelated to exploration. In other words, NASA still inspires, but more often with past glories than present momentum.NASA SAYS AMERICA WILL WIN THE SECOND SPACE RACE AGAINST CHINAPresident Donald Trumps vision for Americas space program aims to change that. It increases investment in human space exploration by roughly $1billion and safeguards Artemis, NASAs flagship program to finally return astronauts to the Moon and establish a long-term human presence as a stepping stone to Mars. By cutting waste and sharpening NASAs focus, the budget ensures taxpayers money drives real exploration rather than endless delays and waste. Unfortunately, some in Washington have chosen to distort the truth of what these changes actually do.Further, two bold directives, resulting from the budget, make Americas intentions clear.First directive: Fission Surface Power for the Moon. Past lunar missions were limited by power constraints; no crewed mission has lasted more than three days. This directive calls for incorporating small modular nuclear reactors to provide reliable, continuous energy for future lunar bases. This technology has been studied and designed through multiple administrations. Today, we're finally taking it out of the lab and into the field.Second directive: Accelerating Commercial Space Stations in Low Earth Orbit. The International Space Station is set for deorbit in 2030 and, without a transition plan, NASA risks losing continuous U.S. presence in orbit. America must never surrender low Earth orbit. To that end, this budget accelerates development of commercial space stations, partnering with industry to ensure no gap between the International Space Stations end and the rise of new orbital platforms.Together, these directives provide the clarity and urgency NASA needs to secure its position as the unrivaled world leader in space exploration. These moves reinforce NASAs exploration goals and maintain U.S. presence both in deep space and in low Earth orbit, thereby ensuring America never retreats from space. The stakes could not be higher. For the first time since the Cold War, the U.S. faces a formidable rival in space. China is advancing plans for a lunar base. If the U.S. hesitates, Beijing could seize what many call the "ultimate high ground" with far-reaching implications for security and global leadership. America cant afford to let that happen. The presidents vision and resulting directives are a course correction. It focuses the agency on exploration, trims mission bloat and capitalizes on the growing commercial space sector to deliver results quicker and more affordably. In other words, taxpayers get real results for their money instead of paying endlessly for projects that drag on and cost far more than promised.Critics may argue that refocusing NASA threatens long-term innovation and science leadership, but it's vital not to conflate a reprioritization away from mission creep with the neglect of exploration.CLICK HERE FOR MORE FOX NEWS OPINIONNASA must be leaner, smarter and more mission-focused. Bloated bureaucracy, inefficiencies in contract procurement and a culture of overcaution have consistently grounded NASA missions. Projects like the Space Launch System and Mars Sample Return have consumed massive resources with repeated delays. The time for studies, re-studies and bureaucratic red tape has passed. If we want to beat China to the Moon, we must move beyond bureaucratic box-checking. America no longer has the luxury of wasting time. If the technology is ready, launch it. If the innovation works, trust it.Calls to sustain all programs are well-intentioned, but the result, if enacted, would be further fragmentation of resources and slower progress toward milestones. Whats needed now is decisive alignment: we return to the Moon to stay, build sustainable power, transition to commercial space stations and race toward Mars.Fiscal discipline strengthens not diminishes our priorities. Last November, the American people gave Trump a mandate and his vision delivers on it with clarity. The question is no longer if we will return to the Moon or reach Mars its when. With this course, that answer comes sooner than ever before. The author is writing in his capacity as acting NASA administrator

Bob Vylan responds to Charlie Kirk's assassination with 'rest in piss' comment during his show
Controversial British punk-rap artist Bob Vylan appeared to revel in the assassination of Charlie Kirk, calling for the slain father of two to "rest in piss.""I want to dedicate this next one to an absolute piece of s--- of a human being," Vylan said at a concert in Amsterdam Saturday.Kirk, 31, was gunned down at Utah Valley University on Wednesday during a stop on his "American Comeback Tour." He was engaging in one of his signature debates with college students when a shot rang out. After being asked a question about transgender mass shooters, Kirk was shot in the neck. Authorities arrested suspected shooter Tyler Robinson on Friday after his father turned him in.NETWORKS CAN'T FIND ANY BLAME FOR THE LEFT IN CHARLIE KIRK'S MURDER"The pronouns was/were. Because if you talk s---, you will get banged. Rest in piss Charlie Kirk, you piece of s---," Bob Vylan said as the crowd cheered in approval.Vylan had his visa to enter the United States revoked in June after he chanted "death to the IDF" during a performance at the Glastonbury music festival. The controversial singer posted a video on Sunday in which he denied celebrating Kirk's murder."At no point during yesterday's show was Charlie Kirk's death celebrated, at no point, whatsoever, did we celebrate Charlie Kirk's death," Bob Vylan said.Kirk had warned that "assassination culture" was spreading on the left just months before his life was cut short.CHARLIE KIRK ASSASSINATION: ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER, JOSH DUHAMEL, JILLIAN MICHAELS DENOUNCE POLITICAL VIOLENCE"Assassination culture is spreading on the left. Forty-eight percent of liberals say it would be at least somewhat justified to murder Elon Musk. Fifty-five percent said the same about Donald Trump," Kirk wrote in a post April 7, 2025.The conservative activist linked to a poll suggesting a massive cultural shift occurred after Luigi Mangione allegedly gunned down UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson. After Kirks assassination, many on the left appeared to celebrate that attack, or imply that he had it coming due to his conservative views.Ex-MSNBC analyst Matthew Dowd called Kirk "one of the most divisive, especially divisive younger figures" upon learning of his murder, and said he was constantly pushing "hate speech."CLICK HERE FOR MORE COVERAGE OF MEDIA AND CULTURE"I always go back to, hateful thoughts lead to hateful words, which then lead to hateful actions I think thats the environment were in, that the people just you cant stop with these sort of awful thoughts you have, and then saying these awful words, and not expect awful actions to take place. FORMER VICE PRESIDENT MIKE PENCE: Five years on, the Abraham Accords still point the way to peace
Five years ago this week, history was made on the South Lawn of the White House when Israel, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain signed the Abraham Accords. What many had long dismissed as an impossible dream became an undeniable reality: Arab nations publicly embracing peace with Israel not as the byproduct of endless negotiations, but as the result of American leadership.I had the great privilege of working alongside President Donald Trump to make that day possible. The Abraham Accords were no accident of wishful diplomacy or nave illusions. They were born of a policy deeply rooted in reality: that strength is the surest guarantor of peace, that America must stand unapologetically with Israel, and that Israels Arab neighbors, with the right encouragement, could find common cause with the Jewish state.Five years later, their impact is unmistakable. The accords have preserved peace among the signatory nations, which now include Morocco and Sudan, even through some of the darkest days in Israels modern history.TRUMP'S LANDMARK DEAL IS THE REAL KEY TO PEACE IN THE MIDDLE EASTWhen Hamas launched the barbaric terrorist attacks of Oct. 7, 2023, plunging Israel into open warfare against Hamas-controlled Gaza, many feared the young partnerships would collapse. Instead, ambassadors remained in Israel, governments maintained ties and trade continued. In a region where alliances are often fleeting, that resilience is itself historic. And the peace has been fruitful. Trade between Israel and its new partners has surged into the billions.Joint commercial ventures are not only creating jobs but knitting societies together in ways few ever imagined. Direct flights now link Tel Aviv with Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Manama.Israeli tourists now vacation in lands where Jews were forced to flee just decades ago. These human connections make future conflict far less likely and lasting stability more attainable. History reminds us that nations that prosper together seldom go to war with one another.WITH FRIENDS LIKE THESE PUSHING TO DISMANTLE TRUMP'S MIDDLE EAST PEACE DEAL, WHO NEEDS ENEMIES?These achievements are even more remarkable considering that the Biden-Harris administration did virtually nothing to expand the accords circle of peace. In fact, the prior administration prioritized concessions to malevolent actors. The result is a peace that has endured but also stagnated, with untapped potential to reshape the Middle East for good. Now, America has another chance to regain the momentum for peace that President Trump created in his first term, and the administration should make broadening the accords a top foreign policy priority. The United States should reaffirm our ironclad commitment to Israels security and our promise that any nation seeking partnership with Israel will find America to be a willing partner as well. In particular, Saudi Arabias entry into the accords would be a giant step forward.CLICK HERE FOR MORE FOX NEWS OPINIONNormalization of Riyadhs relations with Jerusalem would end the Jewish states long isolation in the Arab world, ushering in a new era of security, cooperation and economic growth that would bless the region for generations to come. The Abraham Accords have already written a new chapter in the story of the Middle East. They proved that true peace does not come from appeasing terror, but from uniting those with the courage to oppose it.As we commemorate their fifth anniversary, America must not only preserve what has been achieved but expand the circle of peace until it includes all who yearn for a future built on hope rather than hatred. The dream of a Middle East defined by peace and prosperity is closer today than at any point in living memory. With strong leadership from the Trump administration, it can yet become a lasting reality.CLICK HERE FOR MORE FROM VICE PRESIDENT MIKE PENCE

Falcons run over Vikings to spoil home opener as JJ McCarthy struggles
There was no fourth-quarter magic for J.J. McCarthy in his second NFL start, as the Atlanta Falcons handled the Minnesota Vikings on the road to win their first game of the season, 22-6.McCarthy stole a victory in Chicago last Monday after orchestrating a thrilling fourth quarter against the Bears. But the Falcons had all the answers for the young quarterback on "Sunday Night Football" to get in the win column.McCarthy went 11-of-21 through the air for 158 yards with no touchdowns and two interceptions in a game where he had some chances for big plays, but he just didnt have the right touch on his passes. With the lack of a successful run game, the Falcons were sending all types of pressure and McCarthy went down for six sacks.CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COMBut McCarthys opponent, Michael Penix Jr., wasnt having the best of games at the quarterback position either. Penix was just 13-of-21 for 135 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions. He also missed some throws that couldve led to a touchdown earlier than Tyler Allgeiers late fourth-quarter score, which was the dagger for the Falcons.COWBOYS BEAT GIANTS ON WALK-OFF FIELD GOAL IN THRILLING OVERTIME VICTORYAllgeiers five-yard rush was the only touchdown for either team in this game, as it was a field goal battle throughout with both teams struggling to convert on red zone chances. Parker Romo, the Falcons new kicker as Younghoe Koo was benched after a rough week 1 performance, was up for the challenge as he knocked in all five of his field goal attempts, including his longest from 54 yards out.Though the pass game wasnt efficient for Atlanta, star running back Bijan Robinson picked up the slack with 143 rushing yards on 22 carries to lead the game in that category. Drake London was the leading receiver for the Falcons with 49 yards on three receptions. For the Vikings, Justin Jefferson had 81 yards, though he caught just three passes. After McCarthys second interception of the game on the Vikings final drive, Jefferson was noticeably frustrated on the sideline, but who wouldnt be when the offense truly clicked in the fourth quarter this past week?McCarthy and the Vikings will hope to be more consistent from start to finish next week when they face the Cincinnati Bengals, who are expected to be without quarterback Joe Burrow after he suffered a toe injury on Sunday.Meanwhile, the Falcons hit the road again, but against an NFC South rival in the Carolina Panthers next Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.Follow Fox News Digitalssports coverage on X, and subscribe tothe Fox News Sports Huddle newsletter.

Trump vows immigration crackdown after Cuban national charged in Dallas machete murder
President Donald Trump says the killing of Chandra Mouli Nagamallaiah in Dallas, Texas is a "terrible" crime and the result of immigration enforcement failures. The Truth Social post names 37-year-old Yordanis Cobos-Martinez, a Cuban national with a history of arrests in the U.S. Trump says the crime was carried out by an "illegal alien from Cuba who should have never been in our country."Cobos-Martinez allegedly attacked Nagamallaiah with a machete at a downtown motel, stabbing and beheading him in front of his wife and son. Witnesses say the violence began after a dispute over a broken washing machine and a language barrier.ICE DEMANDS REMOVAL OF CUBAN NATIONAL WHO ALLEGEDLY BEHEADED MERCHANT AFTER BIDEN ADMIN RELEASECobos-Martinez was arrested at the scene and charged with capital murder. Trump alleges he should never have been released after prior convictions and deportation attempts, blaming former President Joe Biden."This individual was previously arrested for terrible crimes, including child sex abuse, grand theft auto and false imprisonment, but was released back into our homeland under incompetent Joe Biden because Cuba did not want such an evil person in their country. Rest assured, the time for being soft on these illegal immigrant criminals is OVER under my watch!" Trump wrote.ICE LODGES DETAINERS AGAINST 3 VENEZUELANS CHARGED WITH CAPITAL MURDER IN TEXASCobos-Martinez had a prior final order of removal to Cuba and was most recently held in U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement custody in Dallas before being released on an order of supervision on Jan. 13, 2025, during the Biden administration. The release occurred because Cuba declined to accept his return due to his criminal record, according to ICE. The issue is a recurring problem in U.S. immigration enforcement.Trump also praised Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and Attorney General Pam Bondi for "doing an incredible job" of strengthening enforcement, while vowing that offenders will face prosecution "to the fullest extent of the law."

Vigil for Charlie Kirk held in alleged gunman's Utah hometown draws hundreds of mourners
Hundreds gathered Sunday night in the Utah hometown of alleged gunman Tyler Robinson to honor Charlie Kirk, mourn with his family, and acknowledge the pain of Robinsons relatives.Organizer Jordan Hess told the crowd he was "deeply moved" by their attendance."Im grateful that everyone felt the desire and the need to be here in the spirit of community tonight," he said, clearly emotional.Hess said the event was organized to "celebrate who we are as Americans and to mourn We gather today not as Democrats or Republicans, not as left or right, not as different races or believers of different religions but as citizens of the greatest, most enduring experiment of self-government that the world has ever known."CHARLIE KIRK'S FRIEND URGES MOURNERS TO 'GO BACK TO CHURCH' FOLLOWING ACTIVIST'S KILLINGHe noted the vigil was also about mourning Kirks life, mourning for his family, the family of the alleged shooter, the students who witnessed the tragedy, and "mourning what this moment threatens to say about the state of our union."Whether or not people agreed with Kirks beliefs, "one truth remains, he was an American, a citizen, a son, a husband and maybe most importantly a voice. He bravely used his voice to advocate for things he believed in: faith, family and freedom," Hess said.He added that "political assassination is not just the taking of life, it is the attempted murder of dialogue," imploring that people should be able to "disagree passionately without destroying one another."UTAH LEADERS URGE UNITY FOLLOWING CHARLIE KIRK'S ASSASSINATION: 'TURNING POINT FOR AMERICA'Attendee Taylor Crosby told Fox News Digital that he decided to come to the vigil because the "recent attack on free speech is something that should motivate the entire country to come together because when we can't speak our mind, that's the death of democracy at that point. So, something needs to change and I want to be the change that we want to see in the world."Although he didnt agree with Kirk on everything, Crosby said he respected his opinions and that he fought for what he believed in.Crosby said he didnt know the Robinson family but had heard he was involved in a socialist community in the area.UTAH STUDENTS LIFT VOICES IN PRAYER AT VIGIL FOR CHARLIE KIRKS CHRISTIAN LEGACY: 'FELT CALLED BY GOD'"And I've had friends that are part of that group, and a lot of them are just filled with hate and vitriol," he said. "I've gotten blocked and removed as friends for having opinions as basic as having a border and not letting in unlimited numbers of migrants. So, theres definitely a wide extreme of people in this area. Anywhere from people who will come to support free speech to people who will demonize you for having an opinion that 50% of the population believes in. So it's tough."Jesse Wilkinson stood quietly in the crowd wearing a shirt emblazoned with the word "Freedom."For Wilkinson, a part-time firefighter from St. George who now lives in Washington, Utah, showing up was about more than politics."I just wanted to support my community," he said. "I know were going through a hard time with the alleged shooter being from here and everything. I grew up in St. George I just wanted to be supportive and share my love and support for all those that are mourning, especially the Kirk family as well as the Robinson family. I know theyre going through a really hard time."Wilkinson said he became a firefighter out of a desire to serve, and Kirks death struck him deeply.VIGILS HELD ACROSS US AFTER ASSASSINATION OF CHARLIE KIRK: 'WE MUST HEAL'"I think he was an amazing, amazing man. He was having an amazing impact. I admire the man, and I know his voice will echo forever."He also framed the tragedy as an attack not just on Kirk but on the freedoms he stood for."If were silent, thats whats going to cause violence. We need to come together, we need to talk, and agree to disagree," he said, echoing Kirks words about open debate.Even his shirt carried meaning. The "freedom" design, a gift from his mother, was a subtle nod to Kirks style and the values he represented."Were the greatest country on the face of the planet, and we have amazing freedoms," Wilkinson said. For him, the vigil was about honoring Kirk, standing with neighbors, and recommitting to the principles of dialogue and freedom.Kevin Holyoak shared a similar message. He told Fox News Digital the evening was a time for reflection, adding that the country is going through tough times and urging people to respect differing beliefs.CHARLIE KIRK SHOOTING LEADS TO OUTPOURING FROM UTAH OFFICIALS, 2025 NOMS ON BOTH SIDES"Its better to talk through things as opposed to taking measures into your own hands that harm somebody else," he said, noting that violence runs against the values America was built on.A fan of Kirk, Holyoak described him as "an inspiring young person that got it real early." He admired how Kirk listened to opposing opinions, treated people with respect, and encouraged open conversation."I just think we all need to act that way," he said. For him, the vigil was about honoring Kirks legacy while urging the community and the country to return to dialogue over conflict.Utah Tech University President Shane Smeed told mourners the vigil was a moment for unity and healing. Speaking personally and not in his official role, Smeed called the past week "an incredibly difficult, tragic week" and urged the community to lean on faith instead of fear.He reflected on the meaning of unity, describing it as harmony and oneness, and used the image of Canadian geese flying in formation to illustrate how individuals support one another and what happens when one falls behind. True unity, he said, means ensuring no one is left alone. "To be peacemakers, we have to strive to remove contention and hate in our lives," Smeed said.He closed with a prayer for peace, reminding the community that healing would come only through choosing dialogue, compassion, and unity.

Colts steal improbable victory from Broncos after officials throw game-changing flag as clock runs out
The Indianapolis Colts are a surprising 2-0 team to start the 2025 NFL season, but that record wouldnt be possible without an unusual play that went their way after the clock hit zero in the fourth quarter. The Denver Broncos appeared to secure a road win when Spencer Shraders 60-yard field-goal attempt came up short and wide right. Denver led 28-26 and, despite failing to score in the fourth quarter, began celebrating what looked like a victory. But officials threw a flag, calling a leverage penalty on the Broncos. It is illegal to use a teammate on the kicking line to elevate oneself and attempt to block a kick, which is what Denver was penalized for.CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COMThat gave the Colts an untimed down despite the clock expiring. Shrader moved 15 yards closer, and from 45 yards out drilled the kick through the uprights as Lucas Oil Stadium erupted in celebration of an improbable 29-28 win.The victory wasnt just about the final play. Denver also made critical mistakes throughout, including kicker Wil Lutz clanking a 42-yard attempt off the right upright on the previous drive that would have extended the lead.DANIEL JONES RUSHES FOR 2 TOUCHDOWNS IN DOMINANT COLTS DEBUT AGAINST DOLPHINSBroncos quarterback Bo Nix, who went 22-of-30 for 206 yards and three touchdowns, also threw a costly interception in Colts territory early in the fourth quarter, taking points off the board.Meanwhile, Colts quarterback Daniel Jones continued his hot start to the season with another efficient outing. Trump says 'we'll see what happens' when asked about possibility of striking Venezuela amid rising tensions
President Donald Trump on Sunday responded vaguely to questions about the possibilities of the U.S. striking mainland Venezuela as well as additional drug-smuggling boats amid rising tensions between the two countries.Trump answered several questions about Venezuela while speaking to reporters in Morristown, New Jersey, on Sunday including the possibility of striking the country and whether he fears escalation from President Nicols Maduro."We'll see what happens," Trump said on Sunday in response to a question about the likelihood of a U.S. strike on the Latin American nation. "Look, Venezuela is sending us their gang members, their drug dealers and drugs. It's not acceptable."VENEZUELAN MILITARY JETS BUZZ US NAVY SHIP IN 'HIGHLY PROVOCATIVE' MOVE, PENTAGON SAYSThe president also said that the number of boats seen off the coast of Venezuela, where his administration recently bolstered the U.S. Navy's presence, has decreased significantly."We'll see what happens," Trump told reporters for a second time when asked if he intends to launch additional strikes on Venezuelan drug-smuggling boats. "There's certainly not a lot of boats out there. . There's been very little boat traffic."TRUMP TOUTS US STRIKE AS MADURO SLAMS MILITARY THREAT OFF VENEZUELAWhen asked on Sunday if he was concerned about a possible escalation from Maduro, who has labeled some of Trump's actions illegal, Trump pointed to the millions of drug deaths that occurred in the U.S. last year."What's illegal are the drugs on the boat, and the drugs that are being sent into our country and the fact that 300 million people died last year from drugs, that's what's illegal," Trump fired back.TRUMP ANNOUNCES US MILITARY CONDUCTED 'LETHAL STRIKE' ON VENEZUELAN DRUG BOAT IN CARIBBEANThe remarks from Trump come amid escalating tensions after a U.S. military strike earlier this month blew apart a Venezuelan drug boat in the southern Caribbean, leaving nearly a dozen suspected Tren de Aragua (TdA) narco terrorists dead. On Saturday, Venezuelas foreign minister accused U.S. Navy personnel of boarding a tuna boat with nine fishermen in Venezuelan waters, according to The Associated Press."A lot of drugs are coming out of Venezuela. A lot of Tren de Aragua," Trump told reporters. "They're trying to get out, but we're stopping them successfully at the border in Venezuela."CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APPIn February, the Trump administration also designated drug cartel groups like Tren de Aragua, the Sinaloa Cartel and others as foreign terrorist organizations.

Knives are out for embattled FBI Director Kash Patel, despite Trump support
On Monday, former Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey once President Trumps top pick to lead the FBI will be sworn into a new power-sharing role with deputy FBI Director Dan Bongino.Baileys installment comes at a perilous time for FBI Director Kash Patel, whose leadership atop the nations premier law enforcement agency is under fire, according to ten sources from multiple federal offices granted anonymity to speak freely. The White Houses reasoning to create an unprecedented office for Bailey has not been explained and left FBI leadership confused, two people at the agency said."The White House, Bondi, Blanche have no confidence in Kash," one source with knowledge of ongoing personnel discussions said. "Pam in particular cannot stand him. Blanche either," they said, referring to Attorney General Pam Bondi and her deputy, Todd Blanche.Bondi and Blanche denied the characterization, and White House officials denied any plans to remove Director Patel from his position.KASH PATEL'S FALSE START ON CHARLIE KIRK KILLER DRAWS SCRUTINY, BUT FBI NABBED SUSPECT IN THE ENDBut allies of President Trump and Patels harshest critics have begun to circulate word that contingency plans for Patels ouster are forming. They also claim his hopeful successor, Andrew Bailey, made clear that he would not leave his post as Missouris AG or abandon his aspirations to run for state governor only to serve as Patels number two.Under the Federal Vacancies Reform Act of 1998, Bailey, who starts at the Bureau on September 15th, would be eligible to fill the FBI Director post should it become vacant after he has been employed by the FBI for at least 90 days.Multiple sources close to Trump acknowledged the president was not thrilled with some past episodes of Patels performance including a public feud with AG Bondi over the administrations handling of the Jeffrey Epstein case. One senior White House official involved in personnel decisions also framed Patels botched communications during the manhunt for Charlie Kirks assassin as something Patel likely wished he could do differently, if he could do it all over again. Trump did not call for any action to be taken in response to it, the person said.Patels purported off-ramp, which the White House denies, would not involve his firing but a reassignment to another administration role, according to multiple people who described it."Hell get Billy Long-ed," one person said. Less than two months after his Senate confirmation, recent former IRS Commissioner Billy Long was nominated to become the next U.S. ambassador to Iceland.Such decisions would originate from the White House, and a senior official involved in decision-making there dismissed the allegations as baseless and even wishful thinking from figures who might benefit. Three sources also pointed out co-Deputy Director Dan Bongios days are more likely numbered than Patels, as he threatened to quit amid fallout from the Epstein feud with Bondi.Bongino declined to respond to claims from anonymous sources. In a phone call, he emphasized the FBIs accomplishments in the short tenure of the new administration, including the success of Operation Summer Heat against violent crime nationwide. After DOJ leadership announced Baileys new position, Patels allies began quietly inquiring with figures inside and outside the administration about whispers of plans for his departure. Some of the claims were less whispers than shouts, with some going so far as to claim White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles was supportive of plans to replace Patel.Wiles strongly denied ever making such statements and described Kash as a friend of many years.NEW FBI DEPUTY DIRECTOR ANDREW BAILEY BEGINS WORK ALONGSIDE BONGINOBailey said in a statement to FOX, "Any suggestion that I was brought in to replace anyone in leadership at the FBI or spin my appointment into a sign of division, is simply false - I am honored to serve the FBI and Department of Justice as we work together to keep our nation safe."Wiles also told FOX, discussions surrounding Baileys hiring pertained only to the co-deputy director job he is set to serve in, starting Monday.Fox is told Patel has received ongoing guidance from Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio on improving his working relationship with Bondi. A senior White House official close to President Trump also expressed a desire for Patel to limit his presence on social media, given the gravity of the position he holds.Patels conduct online sparked the latest flashpoint in concerns over his ability to effectively carry out his duties as FBI Director. On Thursday, investigators in Orem, Utah delayed an afternoon press conference citing "rapid developments" as Patel jetted in from New York to appear alongside Gov. Spencer Cox. When officials took to the podium late in the evening, the FBI Director did not speak. Multiple sources told FOX he was forcefully instructed not to adding that investigators had still not identified a suspect when the briefing was delayed. The unusual field appearance from the FBI Director which current and former agents say can grind time-sensitive fieldwork to a halt followed Patels hasty announcement on social media Wednesday that "the subject for the horrific shooting today that took the life of Charlie Kirk is now in custody." The news came as an apparent surprise to local authorities about to deliver an update in a televised briefing, who indicated the killer was still at large. Shortly after, the FBI clarified that two people had been questioned and released, and the search was ongoing."Total amateur hour," one federal official said of the incident. The back-to-back communications fumbles sparked fury from AG Bondi, Deputy AG Blanche, and the White House, multiple sources told FOX. On Friday, when authorities announced that the 22-year-old Utah man suspected of Kirks murder was in custody, Governor Spencer Cox took the leading role in handling the press. There was concern, one source told FOX, that "letting Kash talk much could f*ck up the prosecution".Asked about this, a DOJ source denied direct knowledge, but said successful prosecutions generally require limits on what is said about an investigation.Bondi and Blanche told FOX in a joint statement, "We work with Director Patel every single day and fully support his leadership at the FBI. The suspect is in handcuffs today because of the outstanding work of Director Patel and our law enforcement partners. Any suggestion to the contrary does not reflect the reality of our strong working relationship and shared commitment to protecting the American people."But Patels performance as FBI Director was under the microscope long before Kirks horrific killing gripped the administration this week.MAN ARRESTED FOR SICKENING ACT AT CHARLIE KIRK MEMORIAL OUTSIDE TURNING POINT HQOn the same day Kirk was shot, three former high-ranking FBI officials filed a lawsuit accusing Patel, Bondi, and their agencies of unlawfully firing them as part of a political purge directed by the DOJ and the White House something Patel promised against in Senate confirmation hearings. The larger concern, according to those familiar with the litigation, is Patel allegedly wielded authority belonging solely to the president, citing Article II of the Constitution in dismissal letters he signed. The misstep, they say, creates a legal minefield for the FBI, DOJ, and Executive Office of the President."Either way, its bad: Kash cannot exercise the powers of the president, and the president cant fire these officials," a source with direct knowledge of the lawsuit said. The filing reads, "Article II of the Constitution and the laws of the United States do not vest any such authority with the Director of the FBI. Article II provides authority for the President, and the President alone, to appoint principal officers, concomitant with the power to remove them "at will." None of Plaintiffs are principal officers and, more importantly, the FBI Director is not the President."A senior law enforcement official said, "The admin could very well lose in court, and it will be because of Kashs big mouth, making the president look like an ass."The Department of Justice declined to comment on the pending litigation. But legal limits on presidential power to remove officials from their posts are currently being tested in the courts. Recently, the Supreme Court allowed removals of political appointees at independent boards. Although the FBI officials involved in this case are not politically appointed, the scope of Article II authority is part of a live legal debate. Some analysts reportedly note this case could wind up costing the president a deposition, citing Patels finger-pointing at Trump."[Patel] stated that Driscoll needed to understand that "the FBI tried to put the President in jail and he hasnt forgotten it," the lawsuit reads.Patel stated that in order to keep his own job, he had to fire agents who had worked on investigations into President Trump regardless of their retirement eligibility status, according to the suit filed by Former Acting FBI Director Brian Driscoll, former Assistant Director in Charge (ADIC) of the Washington DC Field Office Steven Jensen, and Spencer Evans, a longtime FBI Special Agent in Charge (SAC).The lawsuit, FOX is told, will likely now be referred to the DOJ Inspector General in what sources described as a double-whammy for the administration. The Office of the Inspector General also declined to comment. The subject could also come up when Patel testifies before House and Senate committees next week.A source close to the attorney general described her focus as tirelessly fixated on the business of the DOJ.In a statement to FOX, AG Bondi said, "Our only priority is to continue working together with the FBI to make America safer by ensuring murderers and violent criminals face the most severe justice. Director Patel and the FBI have worked tirelessly with my agencies and state partners, leading to the arrest of the suspect in the assassination of my friend, Charlie.A spokesperson for the White House also chastised those stoking discussion of Patels ouster. "Director Patel and his team worked night and day to find this murderer and bring him to justice. Anyone who doubts his resolve and dedication - especially when Charlie was such a close friend to him- simply is using this extremely sad moment in a disgusting act of political gamesmanship. The focus was on catching this killer, and he will face the full wrath of the justice system," Communications Director Steven Cheung said.Still, Patel made plans on Friday to visit President Trump in Bedminster this weekend, as critical news reports about his performance began mounting.Patels office declined to provide on-the-record comment. A source close to Patel acknowledged to Fox, "Yes, tensions were incredibly high yesterday and the day before. Yes, people were probably mad that things werent moving faster. Tensions have since subsided and things took a turn for the better today with the capture of Robinson."The source also said, "Over the past few months, Kash has built a positive relationship with Susie Wiles."Saturday, President Trump told Fox News Digital, "Im very proud of the FBI. Kash and everyone else they have done a great job."Fox News' David Spunt contributed to this report.
