WWW.FOXNEWS.COMFBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino slams New York Times for 'poorly thought-out hit piece'FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino fired back at The New York Times Saturday for writing a "poorly thought-out hit piece" that criticized changes to the federal law enforcement agency under the Trump administration. The Times' opinion piece, published earlier that day and titled "Trumps Politicized FBI Has Made Americans Less Safe," accused President Donald Trump of redesigning the FBI to serve his own political goals, including through hiring loyalists, attempting to prevent investigations into his allies and by intimidating his political opponents."Mr. Trumps playbook for the FBI is plain to see," The New York Times Editorial Board wrote. "He is turning it into an enforcement agency for MAGAs priorities. Among his many effortsto weaken American democracy and amass more power for himself, his politicization of the F.B.I. is one of the most blatant.BONGINO ANNOUNCES FBI APPREHENDED 449 CHILD PREDATORS, RESCUED 224 KIDS IN FIRST 3 MONTHS AS DEPUTY DIRECTOR"Mr. Trumps politicization of the FBI has left it less able to combat terrorism, foreign espionage, biosecurity threats, organized crime, online scams, white-collar crime, drug trafficking and more."Bongino took to X to counter the news organization's claims with statistics he says demonstrate the FBI's heightened focus on violent crime and illegal immigration "is working."FBI initiatives like "Summer Heat," which serves to remove criminals from the streets, have resulted in the murder rate trending to be its lowest in U.S. history. Around 14,000 violent criminals have been arrested up 62% from the same time last year in addition to more than 800 violent child predators and 140 human traffickers. FBI agents also locked up over 50 foreign intelligence operatives for spying and smuggling harmful substances into the U.S., Bongino said in the post.FBI DEPUTY DIRECTOR DAN BONGINO CLAIMS BUREAU CLOSING IN ON SUSPECTS WHO PLANTED JAN. 6 DC PIPE BOMBS"We locked up one of the most dangerous gang leaders in the county, and we dismantled gang operations in nearly every corner of the country, including the largest TDA gang takedown ever," Bongino wrote. "We locked up 3 of the "Top-Ten" most wanted FBI targets, and were closing in on another."Over the last few months, the FBI has also seized 22% more illicit drugs than in the same period last year, including more than 97,000 pounds of cocaine, over 7,000 pounds of meth and more than 2,500 pounds of fentanyl, he wrote. The FBI, alongside federal partners, also helped to imprison and deport more than 18,000 illegal immigrants, many of whom had criminal histories. Zero illegal immigrants were released into the U.S. from the border in June, and nearly 800 rioters were arrested for trying to stop law enforcement operations, Bongino said.FBIS TOP BOSS KASH PATEL SAYS BUREAU RAN COVER FOR HILLARY BUT IT ALL ENDS UNDER TRUMP"Id like to talk more about some of the incredible work being done by our counter-terror teams, but the information, as you would imagine, is classified," he wrote in the post. "But I promise you, its happening."He finished the post by writing, "Finally, we are closing in on more disclosures and fixing past wrongs to personnel. Were making sure this is done correctly. But its absolutely getting done. Notice how The [New York] Times omitted these data points to tell you a story, not the story. And, even though its an opinion piece, they should at least attempt to insert reality into it."In February, Trump announced Bongino, a former Secret Service agent and NYPD officer, would serve as the next deputy director of the FBI, calling it "great news for law enforcement and American justice."FBI DEPUTY DIRECTOR DAN BONGINO: JAMES COMEY 'BROUGHT SHAME TO THE FBI AGAIN' WITH '86 47' POSTKash Patel, Trump's pick to head the FBI, was sworn in in February after a narrow Senate confirmation vote.Patel, a vociferous opponent of the investigations into Trump and one who served at the forefront of Trump's 2020 election fraud claims, vowed during his confirmation hearing he would not engage in political retribution against agents who worked on the classified documents case against Trump and other politically sensitive matters.CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APP"We decline to comment and have nothing additional to add," the FBI told Fox News Digital in an email. The New York Times did not immediately respond to Fox News Digitals request for comment.0 Kommentare 0 Geteilt 43 Ansichten 0 Bewertungen

WWW.FOXNEWS.COMNorth Korean avoids land mines to cross DMZ into South Korea as Seoul softens stance on PyongyangA North Korean man walked across one of the most dangerous borders in the world and into South Korean custody late Thursday. The unidentified man, who was unarmed, crossed the heavily fortified Demilitarized Zone (DMZ), The Associated Press reported.South Koreas Joint Chiefs of Staff said troops tracked him near the central-west portion of the border and guided him through the mine-laced terrain before taking him into custody.Military officials have not said whether the man was attempting to defect. The American-led United Nations Command was notified, and no unusual movement was observed on the North Korean side.SOUTH KOREA FACES HIGH-STAKES ELECTION; FEARS OVER CHINA, NORTH KOREA AND US TIES SHAPE VOTER CONCERNSThe crossing comes amid growing criticism of South Koreas shift in strategy toward the North.Since taking office June 11, South Koreas liberal president, Lee Jae Myung, has taken steps to ease friction with Pyongyang. He halted loudspeaker broadcasts that blasted messages into the North and moved to ban balloon launches by activists carrying pro-democracy leaflets, according to The Associated Press.Critics warn Seoul's stance weakens deterrence and sends the wrong message to Kim Jong Un's regime. In recent weeks, there have been reports North Korea launched thousands of balloons filled with trash like cigarette butts and diapers into the South, the Wall Street Journal reported.KIM JONG UN LEFT FUMING AFTER NORTH KOREAS NEW DESTROYER DAMAGED IN FAILED LAUNCHBorder incidents between the two Koreas are also becoming more frequent. In April, ten North Korean troops briefly crossed the military demarcation line before retreating after warning shots. Last year saw three similar incursions, according to The Associated Press.Thursdays incident involved not a group of soldiers, but a single man crossing from North Korea into the South. It is considered increasingly rare for possible defectors to choose this route; typical North Koreran defectors take a path through China instead.Diplomatic talks between the U.S. and North Korea have been frozen since 2019, when denuclearization negotiations collapsed. Since then, Kim has poured resources into expanding his nuclear arsenal and repeatedly threatened both Seoul and Washington.CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APPPresident Donald Trump has warned North Korea that the U.S. will respond forcefully to any aggression. WWW.FOXNEWS.COMAntisemitic attackers violently target synagogue, Israeli restaurant in AustraliaA series of antisemitic attacks in Australia, including an arson attack on a synagogue in Melbourne and a violent raid on an Israeli-owned restaurant, has Jews in the Australian city living in fear and demanding officials take action. The first attack occurred when assailants started a fire outside the exterior doors of the East Melbourne Hebrew Congregation. Around 20 worshipers were eating Shabbat dinner inside, according to SBS News. The police have not yet categorized the incident a terror attack.Avi Yemini, chief reporter for Rebel News Online in Australia, said the fire brigades rapid response kept "yet another synagogue in this city from being destroyed in a terror attack, like the firebombing of the Adas Israel Synagogue last year, which remains unsolved."AUSTRALIAS JEWISH COMMUNITY ALARMED AMID RISING ANTISEMITISM: FEAR AND ANXIETYLater that same evening, some 20 masked extremists terrorized diners at Israeli-owned restaurant Miznon. According to The Jerusalem Post, protesters chanted "death to the IDF (Israel Defense Forces)" and threw chairs and glassware at the restaurant.Yemeni told Fox News Digital protesters were "causing absolute mayhem" and escalated "to violence against patrons and the destruction of property, ultimately sending terrified diners running for safety."One protester was arrested by Victoria Police but was released and issued a summons.SIGN UP FOR ANTISEMITISM EXPOSED NEWSLETTERSBS News also reported that Victoria Police are investigating a third incident, in which offenders set fire to three vehicles, destroying one, and spray-painted a nearby wall. A police commander declined to say whether the paintings content was antisemitic but described all three incidents as containing "inferences of antisemitism."Alex Ryvchin, co-CEO of the Executive Council of Australian Jewry (ECAJ), issued a statement on X and urged that "all sides of politics and all Australians to condemn these deplorable crimes.""Those who chant for death are not peace activists. Those who would burn houses of prayer with families inside do not seek an end to war," Ryvchin said.Noting the "violent ideology at work in our country that operates on the fringes of politics and social movements," Ryvchin said "those responsible cannot be reasoned with or appeased. They must be confronted with the full force of the law."NURSES SUSPENDED AFTER VIRAL VIDEO THREATENING TO KILL ISRAELI MAN: AUSTRALIA HEALTH DEPARTMENTYemini said Fridays attacks demonstrate how "emboldened" protesters have become."Since October 7, Victoria Police under the direction of the government have allowed anti-Israel protesters to effectively hold Melbourne hostage," he said.Gideon Saar, the Israeli minister of foreign affairs, also strongly condemned the attacks, saying there "have been too many antisemitic attacks in Australia," and he called on the Australian government to "do more to fight this poisonous disease."Between Oct. 1, 2023, and Sept. 30, 2024, the ECAJ counted 2,062 antisemitic incidents in Australia.0 Kommentare 0 Geteilt 58 Ansichten 0 Bewertungen

WWW.FOXNEWS.COMElon Musk launches America Party after Trump signs historic spending bill: 'Waste & graft'Elon Musk says the two-party system is broken, and he just launched a new political party to prove it.On Saturday, Musk announced on X, the social media platform he owns, the formation of the "America Party," calling it a direct response to what he described as a corrupt political establishment that no longer represents the American people. The announcement followed a viral July 4 poll on X, where Musk asked whether voters wanted independence from what he called the "two-party (some would say uniparty) system."ELON MUSK INDICATES HE'LL DONATE TO REP. THOMAS MASSIE, A REPUBLICAN WHO HAS BEEN EXCORIATED BY TRUMPOver 1.2 million votes were cast, with 65.4% saying "yes.""By a factor of 2 to 1, you want a new political party and you shall have it," Musk posted Saturday. "When it comes to bankrupting our country with waste & graft, we live in a one-party system, not a democracy. Today, the America Party is formed to give you back your freedom."The move came just after President Donald Trump signed the "big, beautiful bill" into law Friday at the White House. The sweeping $3.3 trillion legislation includes tax cuts, infrastructure spending and stimulus measures and has drawn criticism from fiscal conservatives and libertarians. Though Musk did not reference the bill directly in his America Party posts, the timing suggests rising friction between the billionaire and the president. Musk has previously warned that unchecked spending by both parties threatens the long-term health of the economy. The new party, according to Musks posts, will target a few key seats in Congress. The goal is to create a swing bloc powerful enough to hold the balance of power and block what Musk sees as the worst excesses of both Republicans and Democrats.ELON MUSK SAYS US IS RULED BY 'PORKY PIG PARTY' AS TRUMP DEFENDS HIS VISION AGAINST FORMER ALLY'S CRITICISMSome on the right voiced concern in the comments section that a third party could split the conservative vote and help Democrats win more easily."Your third party will disproportionately take votes from the right vs the left and give the left an easier path to power," conservative commentator Shawn Farash posted.Others, like Joey Mannarino, urged Musk to focus instead on reforming the GOP from within.Critics also pointed out that the X poll was informal, not limited to American voters and vulnerable to bots.Third parties have traditionally had a difficult time gaining ground in American politics as the system is built for two dominant parties. With the Electoral College, winner-take-all elections and strict ballot access laws, outsiders cannot meaningfully compete. Even when a third-party candidate catches fire, it rarely lasts beyond a single election cycle. One of the biggest third-party efforts in recent history was Ross Perots 1992 run.He earned nearly 19% of the popular vote as an independent but didnt win a single Electoral College vote. It was the closest a third-party candidate got to the White House after President Teddy Roosevelt's famed Bull Moose Party run in 1912 against his onetime protg, William Howard Taft.Others, like Ralph Nader, have tried with the Green Party, and Gary Johnson with the Libertarian Party, but no third-party candidate has come close to winning the Presidency.CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APPThe White House did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital's request for comment.0 Kommentare 0 Geteilt 60 Ansichten 0 Bewertungen

WWW.FOXNEWS.COMDeadly Texas flood exposes 'neglected' weather alert system Trump aims to modernizeAfter a Texas flood killed at least 32 people Friday, Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem addressed criticism about notification prior to the flood, saying the administration is working on updating the National Weather Service and NOAA's "neglected" and "ancient" systems.Citing her time in Congress and as governor of South Dakota, Noem said that while the weather is difficult to predict, there have been instances when officials and citizens expressed the need for quicker warning and clearer notification before deadly weather."That is one of the reasons that, when President [Donald] Trump took office, he said he wanted to fix and is currently upgrading the technology," Noem said during a news conference with state officials Saturday afternoon."The National Weather Service has indicated that with that and the [National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration] (NOAA), we needed to renew this ancient system that has been left in place with the federal government for many, many years."PARENTS DESPERATELY SEEKING ANSWERS ON MISSING CAMPERS AFTER TEXAS FLOODThe National Weather Service told Noem its notifications department started to look at expansion of its limited flood impact area at 1:18 p.m. local time Thursday, about 12 hours before the tragedy.Though a flood watch was issued, Noem described it as a "moderate" alert."When the [weather] system came over the area, it stalled," she said. "It was much more water, much like [what] we experienced during [Hurricane] Harvey, with the same type of system that was unpredictable in the way that it reacted in the way that it stopped right here and dumped unprecedented amounts of rain that caused a flooding event like this."TEXAS RIVER FLOOD LEAVES AT LEAST 6 DEAD AS EMERGENCY CREWS RACE TO FIND OTHERS MISSING; CAMP EVACUATEDInitial reports indicated heavy rain Friday morning caused the Guadalupe River to rise nearly 30 feet in 45 minutes.Weather service employees told Noem they continued to elevate notifications, though those alerts likely would have come through in the early morning hours when local residents were asleep.Texas officials on Saturday confirmed at least 32 deaths, including 14 children.HOMELAND SECURITY SECRETARY KRISTI NOEM HOSPITALIZED AFTER ALLERGIC REACTIONOne of the hardest hit areas was Camp Mystic, an all-girls private Christian camp in Hunt, Texas. As of Saturday afternoon, 27 young girls remain missing."I do carry your concerns back to the federal government, to President Trump, and we will do all we can to fix those kinds of things that may have felt like a failure to you and to your community members," Noem told a reporter."We know that everybody wants more warning time, and that's why we're working to upgrade the technologies that have been neglected for far too long, to make sure that families have as much advanced notice as possible," she added.Noem said reform is ongoing, though she did not announce a specific timeline.0 Kommentare 0 Geteilt 60 Ansichten 0 Bewertungen

Sometimes, it's the small mental shifts and environmental changes that make the biggest difference. Here are some strategies to help you reduce screen time and regain control of your device without needing to delve into your settings menu again:Change where you keep your phone:Out of sight really can mean out of mind. Try leaving your phone in another room while you work, eat or relax. Even just putting it in a drawer or turning it face down can break the cycle of constant checking.Stop using your phone as a default filler: Bored? Waiting in line? Stuck in traffic (as a passenger)? Instead of reflexively reaching for your phone, try doing nothing or something analog. Read a book, breathe deeply or just let your mind wander. These "in-between" moments are where clarity often happens.Create no-phone zones:Designate tech-free areas in your home, such as the dinner table, bedroom or bathroom. Physically separating yourself from your phone helps reinforce boundaries and reduce screen time without much effort.Replace doom-scrolling with quick wins:Build a list of low-effort, high-reward alternatives to scrolling.
