WWW.FOXNEWS.COMWhy Trump is suing the New York Times, his white whale, without citing mistakesDonald Trump grew up in Queens a very nice neighborhood, to be sure, but still an outer borough.Across the East River is the glittering skyline of what those who dont live there call "the city." And in the midst of that island is the New York Times building. When the Times found the real estate developer worthy of profiling, in 1976, it was puff piece at first sight:"He is tall, lean and blond, with dazzling white teeth, and he looks ever so much like Robert Redford. He rides around town in a chauffeured silver Cadillac with his initials, DJT, on the plates. He dates slinky fashion models, belongs to the most elegant clubs and, at only 30 years of age, estimates that he is worth "more than $200 million."TRUMP ANNOUNCES $15 BILLION LAWSUIT AGAINST THE NEW YORK TIMES FOR DEFAMATION, LIBELThe Redford reference is now sadly dated because of the actors passing in his sleep ("Good way to go, I guess," says Trump.) But in the piece, the "fast talker" acknowledged that his father, Fred Trump, who built middle-class housing in Queens and Brooklyn, only recently tried to crack the Manhattan market because of "psychology."(My favorite sentence: "Mr. Trump, who says he is publicity shy, allowed a reporter to accompany him on what he described as a typical work day.")I bring all this up, as a Brooklyn guy who has lived in Queens, to underscore how the president has always craved the papers approval.TRUMP TAKES AIM AT CNN AND NEW YORK TIMES OVER IRAN STRIKE COVERAGE, BUT JOURNALISTS ARE SHRUGGINGAnd he got it though the tabloids loved his feuds even more until he went into politics. Now the president has filed a $15 billion lawsuit against the New York Times. Its a strange suit, and it has a snowballs chance in hell of succeeding.A Times statement says: "This lawsuit has no merit. It lacks any legitimate legal claims and instead is an attempt to stifle and discourage independent reporting." Whats odd is that there was no triggering story, no specific inaccuracy alleged. Thats in sharp contrast to the presidents successful suits against CBS and ABC.Of course, filing a suit forcing even the biggest companies to spend a fortune on legal fees is often the point.Back in the 1980s, Trump sued the Pulitzer-winning Chicago Tribune architecture critic, Paul Gapp, for $500 million, for criticizing his plan to build Americas tallest building a 150-story tower in Manhattan. "One of the silliest things anyone could inflict on New York or any other city," Gapp wrote.Trump said he had "virtually torpedoed" the project, subjecting him to "public ridicule and contempt." A judge later dismissed the suit as involving protected opinion. The new suit names such reporters as chief White House correspondent Peter Baker and investigative journalist Michael Schmidt. It also names Susanne Craig and Ross Buettner, in part for their book "Lucky Loser: How Donald Trump Squandered His Fathers Fortune and Created the Illusion of Success."Craig revealed some of Trumps tax returns, and she and her team won a Pulitzer for reporting on his finances. In the ABC case, the network settled for $16 million for George Stephanopoulos having said Trump was found liable for rape, not "sexual abuse," in the civil suit brought by E. Jean Carroll.CBS also agreed to pay $16 million after the unethical editing of the Kamala Harris interview on "60 Minutes," to make her sound more coherent. He has also sued the Wall Street Journals parent company for reporting on his birthday message to Jeffrey Epstein which he continues to deny, although the message from the predators files has surfaced with many similarities.CBS PARENT COMPANY SPARKS MASSIVE OUTRAGE WITH TRUMP LAWSUIT SETTLEMENTIn the lawsuit against the Times, filed in Florida, the president just trashes its campaign coverage. He says on Truth Social he is moving against "one of the worst and most degenerate newspapers in the History of our Country, becoming a virtual mouthpiece for the Radical Left Democrat Party. I view it as the single largest illegal Campaign contribution, EVER. Their Endorsement of Kamala Harris was actually put dead center on the front page of The New York Times, something heretofore UNHEARD OF! The Times has engaged in a decades long method of lying about your Favorite President (ME!), my family, business, the America First Movement, MAGA, and our Nation as a whole. I am PROUD to hold this once respected rag responsible"Im going out on a limb to say that running an editorial on the front page falls under the category of free speech, and lots of papers have occasionally done it.And remember, as the ultimate public figure, Trump would have to prove malice on the papers part, or reckless disregard for whether something is true or not.Given that the presidents coverage is overwhelmingly negative, lets say for the sake of argument that the Times is leading the resistance. The Trump suit blames "persistent election interference from the legacy media."But unless a plaintiff can point to a verifiable inaccuracy, it falls under the protective umbrella of First Amendment reporting and opinion.SUBSCRIBE TO HOWIE'S MEDIA BUZZMETER PODCAST, A RIFF ON THE DAY'S HOTTEST STORIESWith Marine One in the background yesterday, ABCs Jonathan Karl, whom Trump knows well, asked him about criticism of Pam Bondis investigations of left-wingers: "A lot of people, a lot of your allies, say hate speech is free speech.""Shed probably go after people like you! Because you treat me so unfairly! Its hate! You have a lot of hate in your heart!"A moment later, Trump said: "Maybe theyll come after ABC. Well, ABC paid me $16 million recently for a form of hate speech, right? Your company paid me $16 million for a form of hate speech, so maybe theyll have to go after you."For the president, a lawsuit is wielded as a weapon. Thats why hes suing the New York Times, the paper across the river, with which hes always had a love-hate relationship and lately, mostly hate.0 Yorumlar 0 hisse senetleri 29 Views 0 önizlemePlease log in to like, share and comment!

WWW.FOXNEWS.COMPope Leo XIV told US ambassador he is praying for Charlie Kirk, his family after assassinationPope Leo XIV told the new U.S. ambassador to the Holy See, Brian Burch, that he is praying for conservative activist Charlie Kirk, as well as his wife and children, following his murder last week in Utah, the Vatican said on Tuesday.Leo also expressed concern about political violence and addressed the need "to refrain from rhetoric and exploitation that lead to polarization rather than dialogue," Vatican spokesman Matteo Bruni said in a statement, according to Vatican News. The pope's remarks came on Saturday, when he received the ambassador in an audience to receive his credentials, marking the first meeting between the two.TED CRUZ SAYS HATE SPEECH 'ABSOLUTELY' PROTECTED BY FIRST AMENDMENT FOLLOWING CHARLIE KIRK'S ASSASSINATION"The pope confirmed that he is praying for Charlie Kirk," Bruni said.Kirk, the 31-year-old co-founder of Turning Point USA, was shot and killed during an event on the campus of Utah Valley University in Orem on Sept. 10. He was transported to a hospital in critical condition before he was later pronounced dead. The alleged gunman was identified as Tyler Robinson, 22, whose family persuaded him to turn himself in after a two-day manhunt. Robinson has been charged with aggravated murder in connection with Kirk's killing.LONDON PUB DEDICATES ROOM TO CHARLIE KIRK AFTER TRAGIC DEATH, INVITES CUSTOMERS TO CELEBRATE FREE SPEECHThe pontiff had also sent a telegram message offering condolences last month after a shooting at Annunciation Catholic Church in Minnesota, leaving two children dead and 18 others injured, including more than a dozen kids from the school. However, the pope did not send a telegram about Kirk's assassination.Burch hosted a welcome diplomatic reception on Monday, saying it was a "remarkable time to be in Rome," with the first American pope. The ambassador spoke about his papal audience, noting to the assembled ambassadors, cardinals and guests that the pontiff "reminded me he is not an American pope. He is a pope of America for the world."The Associated Press contributed to this report.0 Yorumlar 0 hisse senetleri 32 Views 0 önizleme

WWW.FOXNEWS.COMTed Cruz says hate speech 'absolutely' protected by First Amendment following Charlie Kirk's assassinationSen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, said on Tuesday that a person cannot be prosecuted for speech, but he is in favor of other consequences for those who celebrate the murder of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, putting the senator at odds with the Trump administration.Cruz made the comments at Politico's AI & Tech Summit on Tuesday, when he affirmed that hate speech is protected under the U.S. Constitution's First Amendment."The First Amendment absolutely protects speech," Cruz said."It absolutely protects hate speech," he continued. "It protects vile speech. It protects horrible speech. What does that mean? It means you cannot be prosecuted for speech, even if it is evil and bigoted and wrong."PAM BONDI CLARIFIES 'HATE SPEECH' COMMENTS AFTER GETTING BLOWBACKInstead of facing prosecution, Cruz said anyone who has celebrated Kirks murder, or suggested that he deserved to die for his political views, should be met with other forms of consequences, such as termination or expulsion. Several people in various jobs across the country have been fired for comments made in response to Kirk's death."We have seen, as you noted, across the country, people on the left not everybody but far too many people celebrating Charlie Kirks murder," Cruz said. "Weve seen teachers in high schools and elementary schools posting online celebrating. Weve seen university professors posting.""In my view, they should absolutely face the consequences for celebrating murder," he added.Cruz's comments come after Attorney General Pam Bondi said on Monday that the Justice Department would target people who engaged in hate speech following Kirk's assassination."Theres free speech and then theres hate speech, and there is no place, especially now, especially after what happened to Charlie, in our society. We will absolutely target you, go after you, if you are targeting anyone with hate speech," Bondi told podcast host Katie Miller, the wife of White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller.BONDI 'HATE SPEECH' REMARKS SPARK TORRENT OF CRITICISM FROM CONSERVATIVESBondi later attempted to walk back her comments, saying hate speech "that crosses the line into threats of violence is NOT protected by the First Amendment.""Its a crime," she wrote on X. "For far too long, weve watched the radical left normalize threats, call for assassinations, and cheer on political violence. That era is over.""Free speech protects ideas, debate, even dissent, but it does NOT and will NEVER protect violence," she added. "It is clear this violent rhetoric is designed to silence others from voicing conservative ideals. We will never be silenced. Not for our families, not for our freedoms, and never for Charlie. His legacy will not be erased by fear or intimidation."Asked about Bondi's initial comments, President Donald Trump suggested potentially going after journalists who "treat me unfairly.""It's hate," he told reporters.CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APPKirk, who was shot and killed during an event on the campus of Utah Valley University last week, was opposed to prosecuting hate speech."Hate speech does not exist legally in America," he wrote on X last year. "There's ugly speech. There's gross speech. There's evil speech. And ALL of it is protected by the First Amendment. Keep America free."In his remarks on Tuesday, Cruz pushed for more "naming and shaming," citing English philosopher John Stuart Mill, who argued that the best response to speech is more speech."And naming and shaming is part of a functioning and vibrant democracy," Cruz said.0 Yorumlar 0 hisse senetleri 31 Views 0 önizleme

WWW.FOXNEWS.COMSouth Carolina court moves forward execution of cop killer who says most laws are unconstitutionalA South Carolina judge allowed an execution to move forward after ruling that the man's beliefs, including that most laws are unconstitutional and citizens have an absolute right to defend their property to death, do not prove he is mentally incompetent.Steven Bixby, 58, was set to die in May for the 2003 killings of two police officers before the state Supreme Court stopped his execution in order to determine his mental competency. A lower court was asked to evaluate if his beliefs about the legal system meant his lawyers were unable to defend him.The latest ruling, issued by Judge R. Scott Sprouse, gives the execution the green light, at least for now. Addressing concerns about the ability of Bixby's lawyers to defend him, Scott said their client cooperates with his legal team and the psychiatrists who treat and question him.The judge wrote that while Bixby "has often disagreed with counsel and expresses distrust regarding their strategy in this proceeding, the evidence demonstrates that he understands their role, the rationale for why they are engaging in this competency proceeding, and that he can choose whether or not to cooperate with them."SOUTH CAROLINA DEATH ROW INMATE SAYS JUDGES ARE LED BY SATAN AS COURT WEIGHS IF HE IS COMPETENT FOR EXECUTIONBixbys lawyers can ask to appeal the ruling. He said recently in a handwritten motion to the court that judges who rule against him are guided by Satan and suggested that the judge would commit treason if he failed to stop his execution and free him from custody, according to The Associated Press. A psychologist also previously said Bixby understands what led to his death sentence, but that he believes blood found on his clothes the night of the killings contains the DNA of Jesus Christ."I am an innocent man!! Let freedom ring & let those committing treason swing!!! Like Thomas Jefferson: I am standing on principle even if I stand alone," Bixby wrote in the motion, via The AP.In December 2003, Bixby shot Abbeville County deputy Danny Wilson as the officer knocked on the front door of his parents' home, a day after they threatened the road crew, according to officials.Wilson's dying body was pulled inside the home by the family and restrained with his own handcuffs. The Bixbys then killed state Constable Donnie Ouzts as he and other officers responded to the home because Wilson had been missing for an hour, leading to a 12-hour standoff as officers and the family fired hundreds of shots at each other, investigators said.Bixby's parents were also charged with murder but have since died.SOUTH CAROLINA DEATH ROW INMATE INVOKES 'SOVEREIGN CITIZEN' DEFENSE IN BID TO AVOID EXECUTIONIn his motion to the court, Bixby reaffirmed his long-held belief that his family was justified in killing Wilson because the deputy was attempting to help take their land. The handwritten motion came after the judge held a hearing last month to determine if Bixby was mentally competent for execution. At the hearing, lawyers for Bixby said that he is convinced the U.S. legal system is unconstitutional and wrong, and refuses to share information needed to help him avoid execution. Prosecutors contended that Bixby's beliefs are shared by others and that he understands why the state wants to end his life.An expert called by Bixby's lawyers said the isolation of prison has only made his beliefs more delusional and that Bixby is stuck in his mindset. The judge highlighted that two of the experts called by the state have been dealing with Bixby since shortly after the killings and that while Bixby has previously been angry with their testimony about his mental state, he understands they need to do their job.The state's experts testified that Bixby is not going to abandon his beliefs about the legal system and that he views himself in some ways as a martyr prepared to die for his beliefs if his appeals fail. They said Bixby believes he will see his parents again in heaven. The psychiatrist who sees and treats death row inmates in South Carolina said Bixby described his mental state to him as: "Im not crazy. Im not a mental health case. I may be an [expletive], but Im not crazy."Bixby was out of regular appeals when the state Supreme Court halted his execution in March. The Associated Press contributed to this report.0 Yorumlar 0 hisse senetleri 22 Views 0 önizleme

They spent the night at Windsor Castle, according to The Guardian. While no public events were planned for the evening, the festivities are set to begin on Wednesday as the couple will be hosted by King Charles III. Ahead of the couple's arrival, hundreds of staff worked through the halls and grounds of the nearly 1,000-year-old castle to ensure the monarch welcomed the couple in true royal fashion.U.K. POLICE DEPLOY 'COMPREHENSIVE' DRONE OPERATION ACROSS WINDSOR CASTLE FOR TRUMP VISIT"They will stay in one of Windsor Castles grand guest suites reserved for heads of state," British royals expert Hilary Fordwich told Fox News Digital. "Each suite has adjoining bedrooms for privacy.""Regarding tea, there is a specific Windsor Castle black tea known as the Royal Blend that will be offered," Fordwich said. "Their stay will include full military honor guards, three brass bands, and the highly anticipated banquet in St Georges Hall.""I like to think President Trump and first lady Melania Trump will sleep in the lavish State apartments," British broadcaster and photographer Helena Chard told Fox News Digital. "Paintings of kings, queens and lords of the Garter in ornate frames will join them as they sleep."The castle is steeped in pomp, pageantry and history. William the Conqueror began building it in 1070 on high ground above the River Thames, near a hunting forest and a days march from the Tower of London, according to the royal familys website. It has been inhabited and altered by monarchs for centuries. The castle was expanded in the 1360s by Edward III, who created St. Georges Hall for his knights of the newly founded Order of the Garter. Queen Victoria and Prince Albert were described as "devoted to Windsor" and spent much of their time there.During World War II, Windsor Castle was home to a young Princess Elizabeth and her sister Princess Margaret. The late Queen Elizabeth II also used Windsor as her residence during the coronavirus pandemic, spending significant time there during her final years.CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR THE ENTERTAINMENT NEWSLETTERAhead of his visit, Trump hailed the "great honor" of being hosted by his "friend" at "the ultimate" Windsor Castle for his second state visit, the U.K.s Standard reported."My relationship is very good with the U.K., and Charles, as you know, whos now king, is my friend," Trump told reporters, quoted by the outlet. "Its the first time this has ever happened where somebody was honored twice. So, its a great honor.""And this ones at Windsor," said Trump, 79. "And I dont want to say ones better than the other, but they say Windsor Castle is the ultimate, right? So, its going to be nice.""Primarily its to be with Charles and Camilla," he continued. "Theyve been friends of mine for a long time, long before he was king, and its an honor to have this king."After the welcoming ceremonies, the Trumps are set to view an exhibit of documents and artwork highlighting Britains special relationship with the U.S., according to The Associated Press. The true centerpiece of the state visit is the banquet in St. Georges Hall. The Waterloo Table, about half the length of a football field, can seat up to 160 guests. The Associated Press reported it takes five full days to set the table, which is laid with more than 4,000 pieces, including 200-year-old silver.LIKE WHAT YOURE READING? "You would slice it into rings and eat it with a fork. If there are pears, you cut off the top and use a teaspoon."Grapes are the best option because theyre already cut into small bunches. Pineapples may look whole on the table, but theyve already been sliced. When you lift the top off, there will already be rings with the centers removed. And if things get messy, there are finger bowls with warm water to dip and clean your fingers.""I remember one state banquet where guests thought it was tradition to drink from the finger bowl," he said. "Nobody said anything. Its a state banquet, you just get on with it."Fordwich said the menus are written in French, a tradition dating back to the 11th century."This practice symbolizes sophistication," she shared.Fordwich also noted that this years food will be prepared by Head Royal Chef Mark Flanagan."He is adept at tailoring menus for visiting guests," Fordwich said. "Both British and American tastes will be considered. I am sure the entire menu will have an American twist to ensure the Trumps are content."WATCH: KATE MIDDLETON SET TO SHINE AT STATE VISIT WITH TIARA MOMENT: AUTHOR"In keeping with tradition, the menu wont be revealed until tomorrow night," she added. "Everyone is calling it the soft power of the monarchy. King Charles cant do anything remotely political or even say anything remotely political because thats our constitution. Hes head of state, and hes monarch, but he doesnt get involved in politics. But this event strengthens the relationship between both nations, and its one everyone is looking forward to.""The royal family is especially looking forward to this," Seward added.Trump is the first U.S. president to be invited for two state visits by a British monarch. The late queenhosted him and Melania in 2019 during his first administration. WWW.FOXNEWS.COMDearborns Muslim mayor tells Christian hes not welcome in debate on honoring pro-terror Arab leaderAt a Dearborn City Council meeting last week, Mayor Abdullah H. Hammoud told local resident Edward "Ted" Barham, a Christian, that he was "not welcome" in the city after Barham raised concerns about new street signs honoring Arab American News publisher Osama Siblani.FOX 2 Detroit reported that the signs honoring Siblani were placed at intersections on Warren Avenue by Wayne County, not the City of Dearborn. But the mayor escalated the debate, telling Barham, "Although you live here, you are not welcome here."Barham introduced himself as "Ted Barham, Dearborn resident," and objected to two intersections being renamed after Siblani. He said, "Hes a promoter of Hezbollah and Hamas" before quoting past remarks from Siblani, including, "He talks about how the blood of the martyrs irrigates the land of Palestine whether we are in Michigan and whether we are in Yemen. Believe me, everyone should fight within his means. They will fight with stones, others will fight with guns, others fight with planes, drones, and rockets."ADAMS ASKS 'WHERE WAS' MAMDANI AT PREVIOUS NYPD FUNERALSBarham compared the signs to naming a road "Hezbollah Street or Hamas Street," calling them "provocative" and stressing that as a Christian, he wanted to encourage peace. He closed by quoting Jesus: "Blessed are the peacemakers."Council members interjected, warning Barham against "personal attacks" and reminding him that the city had no control over the countys decision. One clarified, "The sign that was placed on Warren Avenue which is a County road and that was done by the Wayne County Executive." But Barham maintained that the issue mattered to Dearborn residents because the signs stood in their city.JEWISH LEADER PREDICTS VIOLENT FUTURE FOR NYC RESIDENTS IF MAMDANI WINS IN NOVEMBER: 'REAL CONCERN'Mayor Hammoud responded with remarks that shocked many in attendance. "The best suggestion I have for you is to not drive on Warren Avenue or to close your eyes while youre doing it. His name is up there and I spoke at a ceremony celebrating it because hes done a lot for this community," Hammoud said.He went further, accusing Barham of being "a bigot, and you are racist, and youre an Islamophobe," before declaring: "Although you live here, I want you to know as mayor, you are not welcome here. And the day you move out of the city will be the day that I launch a parade celebrating the fact that you moved out of this city."The controversy stems from Wayne Countys decision to honor Siblani with street signs in August.FOX 2 Detroit reported the county commission approved the designation, not the city council. Hammoud and other local officials attended a ceremony celebrating the unveiling.CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APPFox News Digital reached out to Mayor Hammouds office and Siblani for comment but did not receive a response at the time of publication. WWW.FOXNEWS.COMMemphis residents split over National Guard deployment to fight city's crimeMany Memphis, Tennessee residents are split over President Donald Trumps approval to deploy the National Guard to fight crime in the city.On Monday, President Trump signed a memorandum establishing the "Memphis Safe Task Force" to address crime in Memphis. The task force includes the National Guard, the FBI, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the Drug Enforcement Administration, Homeland Security Investigations and Immigration and Customs Enforcement.Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee said the task force will "accelerate the positive momentum" of "Operation Viper," an ongoing FBI mission that Lee says has led to the arrest of hundreds of violent criminals since July."Weve made significant investments to address crime throughout my seven years in office, and thanks to President Trumps leadership, the Memphis Safe Task Force will ensure we have every resource at our disposal to create significant change," Lee said.TRUMP ORDERS NATIONAL GUARD, FBI TO MEMPHIS IN NEW CRIME CRACKDOWNLee also authorized more than 100 Tennessee Highway Patrol troopers to help local law enforcement in Shelby County.Memphis has the highest crime rate in the United States, and some residents said federal intervention could be the only way to bring it down quickly."I just feel like their presence may deter some. It's not going to do a whole lot, I don't think, but I mean, anything will help," Angela Dowdy, a Memphis resident, said.ARCHITECT OF LA ICE RAIDS ARRIVES IN CHICAGO AS FOCUS SHIFTS TO WINDY CITYMemphis Mayor Paul Young said a National Guard deployment isnt necessary, citing a downward trend in crime in the past year."I want to be clear: I did not ask for the National Guard and I dont think it is the way to drive down crime," Young posted to X.Memphis reported a 23% drop in Part 1 crimes from 2024 to 2025. The FBI defines Part 1 crimes as criminal homicide, rape, robbery, aggravated assault, burglary, larceny, motor vehicle theft, arson and human trafficking.Dr. George Campbell, a Memphis resident, said he hopes local leaders could use this as an opportunity to take advice from the feds."[W]e need to have all the individuals in office really concerned about making a difference in the city and not just put in their pockets or from a political sense, just politics," Campbell said.MEMPHIS REP. TORCHES TRUMP'S NATIONAL GUARD PLAN, SAYS DC ISN'T SAFER AFTER LAST CRACKDOWNMemphis business owner Joe Morrow said "crime is bad for business." With large companies like Google and xAI building data centers in the area, Morrow said something still must be done to solve the citys crime. However, Morrow questions whether a National Guard deployment is the answer to solving the citys lingering crime."We've got law enforcement here already. We've got state troopers that they've sent in. We have the FBI here. Different things. The National Guard is just another form of law enforcement," Morrow said. "Deployment comes with orders. What are the orders that they have when they're coming here? Am I going to be looked at as a human being? Or am I something on the list of deployment that is a target or a threat? Which I'm not."Michael Kuntzman, a Memphis bar manager, was also concerned that a National Guard presence would hurt the citys nightlife that his bar relies on."I think having a show of force like that will definitely affect nightlife, where people won't be out if there are bright lights and National Guard in camo everywhere," Kuntzman said. "I know, I'll be at the house if that's the case."CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APPTrump several weeks ago threatened to send the National Guard to Chicago but was met with strong resistance from Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson and Illinois Gov. WWW.FOXNEWS.COMStacey Abrams says Trump administration is using Kirk assassination to advance 'authoritarian rule'Former Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams appeared on CNN Tuesday and said the Trump administration is using the assassination of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk as an "excuse for the advance of authoritarian rule.""This is about American autocracy versus American democracy. And if we allow ourselves to be pulled into this false-flag conversation, what we risk is losing access to the democracy that gave us free speech," Abrams said."That will also invoke the rule of law to hold accountable anyone who undertakes the act of political violence. But we cannot allow this heinous murder to be exploited as an excuse for the advance of authoritarian rule, which is what we are watching happen."Abrams claimed that the Trump administration is at "step nine in the playbook of autocrats," which, according to her 10-step framework of autocracy, is "taking advantage of political violence."REP. JASMINE CROCKETT DEFENDS DEM RHETORIC LIKE CALLING TRUMP 'WANNABE HITLER' IN WAKE OF KIRK SHOOTINGKirk, 31, a father of two, was shot and killed Sept. 10 during a campus event at Utah Valley University. The TPUSA founder was struck in the neck as he spoke to a large crowd from under a white pop-up tent. He was rushed to a hospital and pronounced dead that afternoon. When reached for comment, White House spokeswoman Abigail Jackson told Fox News Digital, "In the wake of the tragic assassination of Charlie Kirk, two-time gubernatorial campaign loser Stacey Abrams has decided to double down on radical, left-wing rhetoric that drives Democrat supporters to violence. We wont further dignify these deranged ramblings, but all you need to know is that every word that comes from her mouth is a lie, and she should seek help for her late-stage TDS."Earlier this year, the former Georgia gubernatorial candidate laid out her 10-step framework on "Jimmy Kimmel Live," similarly claiming at the time that the United States was on step nine of the autocratic playbook."Step nine, you start to encourage and incentivize private violence. You send the U.S. Marines into spaces they should not be. You send the National Guard in. You kidnap people off of the streets and pretend thats normal, because thats how you quiet dissent, because you make everyone afraid that if they dont do what you want, they might be next. And once youve done those nine steps, step 10 is easy. Thats when you decide there wont be new elections because everyone is either afraid, poor, broken or complicit," she told guest host Anthony Anderson.DONALD TRUMP JR. WARNS POLITICAL VIOLENCE IS 'NOT GOING BOTH WAYS' AS HE MOURNS CHARLIE KIRK'S DEATHAbrams made a similar argument during her appearance Tuesday on CNN, asserting that President Donald Trump and his administration have placed Washington, D.C., under "military occupation," and that people are being "kidnapped off of the streets" by the government. When asked by CNN's Audie Cornish about recent comments made by Sen. John Fetterman, D-Pa., expressing that Trump is not an autocrat or comparable to Adolf Hitler, Abrams expressed her disagreement with the senator's take."This is a president who has faced multiple lawsuits that hes lost because he has overreached. Its the installation of loyalists and you all, in your earlier segment, talked about the fact that the FBI is being run by a podcaster, that the Department of Defense is being run by another podcaster, that we have watched people who know how to do their jobs be summarily dismissed and replaced by loyalists who have vowed only to hold the authority of the president and not the people as their central responsibility," she argued.CHARLIE KIRK'S ASSASSINATION LATEST CASE OF CONSERVATIVES BEING TARGETED FOR MURDERLater in the segment, Abrams took her argument a step further, arguing that, due to American "navet," the public believes America is "immune to what autocracy looks like.""We are not as far in, as deep as other nations are, but we are already there. Scholars have pointed out there are ten steps. We have hit all ten steps," she contended. "We just watched this administration, but also this political party, decide that it was OK to redistrict in the middle of the decade in order to explicitly seize more power."She added that when "the president of the United States, suborned by his political party, announced that he intends to eliminate access to voting rights in this country, that he intends to go after his enemies in this country thats authoritarianism under anyones guise."CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APP0 Yorumlar 0 hisse senetleri 33 Views 0 önizleme

WWW.FOXNEWS.COMArnold Schwarzenegger warns America is approaching democracy 'cliff' after Charlie Kirk assassinationArnold Schwarzenegger shared his fears about the future of democracy as he reflected on the assassination of Charlie Kirk.On Monday, the 78-year-old actor and former Republican governor of California joined the University of Southern California's interim President Beong-Soo Kim for a live discussion as part of USC's International Day of Democracy celebrations.During their conversation, before an audience of university students and faculty members, Kim asked Schwarzenegger about his reaction to the murder of the conservative activist on a Utah university campus last week.CHARLIE KIRK ASSASSINATION: ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER, JOSH DUHAMEL, JILLIAN MICHAELS DENOUNCE POLITICAL VIOLENCE"I was very, very upset that someones life was taken because they have a different opinion. Its just unbelievable," Schwarzenegger said in a clip from the event he shared on X Tuesday."This was a great communicator, a great advocate for the right for Republican causes. He had such a great way of communicating with the students that agreed or disagreed with him."Its a human being. A human life is gone," the actor continued. "And he was a great father, a great husband. I was thinking about his children. They will only be reading about him now, instead of him reading to them bedtime stories."Kirk was hosting a Turning Point USA event at Utah Valley University Sept. 10 when he was assassinated. On Tuesday, Tyler Robinson, the 22-year-old accused of fatally shooting Kirk, was formally charged with aggravated murder and felony discharge of a firearm causing bodily injury, two counts of obstruction of justice, two counts of witness tampering and one count of committing a violent offense in front of children.Robinson, who was arrested Sept. 12 in Utah, will remain in custody without bail. Prosecutors have confirmed they will seek the death penalty in the case. While speaking at the A Democracy Day Dialogue event, Schwarzenegger said he was "shocked" when he saw the news of Kirk's assassination. He noted that, since the tragedy, there have been an "endless amount" of debates about how to stop political violence in the United States."We have to acknowledge that the cause of all of this is the social media companies that are dividing us, the mainstream media companies that are dividing us," Schwarzenegger said."The political parties the Democrats that are dividing us, the Republicans that are dividing us," he continued. "Were getting hit from so many different angles, and we have to be very careful that we dont get closer to that cliff. Because when you fall down that cliff down there, there is no democracy."We have to be very, very careful," Schwarzenegger warned. "I think it is very important that we turn this around and that we show people power. Because the people can turn this around. The people have the ultimate power."And, so, this is why I recommend very strongly that people who say, Well, what can I do? Im just an individual.' "And you will be an example for the rest of the nation and for all universities, how you get together, how you not see the other side as the enemy. Because, remember, the people power is the ultimate power. That's what democracy is all about," he said. "So use that power."Show to the country and to the world that we can do it."In the caption of his X post, Schwarzenegger, who was one of the first celebrities to publicly react after Kirk's death, praised the crowd at the USC event."Theres something more important than my message in this video. Its what you dont hear. No heckling. No disrespect. No shouting," he wrote."I know that social media shows us the worst of humanity, and a few people celebrating a death will get more attention than hundreds of respectful people," Schwarzenegger continued. "Dont let these companies and the rage influencers that profit from them convince you the worst of us are the most of us."They are a tiny minority that gets too much attention because anger makes you post, repost and like. This was an audience of almost 500 students and zero disrespect. Thats how most of the real world outside of the internet is. If you find yourself falling for the anger, go out in the real world and make yourself human again."0 Yorumlar 0 hisse senetleri 33 Views 0 önizleme
