WWW.FOXNEWS.COMUtah students lift voices in prayer at vigil for Charlie Kirks Christian legacy: 'Felt called by God'Hundreds of Utah State University students still reeling from the assassination of Charlie Kirk came together at a tearful vigil hosted by the campus Turning Point USA chapter on Friday night."We just want to have our community come together in this really dark time," Kaitlyn Griffiths, president of the schools chapter, told Fox News Digital at the emotional and faithful tribute to the late conservative activist. "Especially something that happened so close to home for us. And we want to be able to gather and celebrate this man's life."The somber vigil comes two days after Kirk, the 31-year-old co-founder of the conservative student program Turning Point USA, was fatally shot while speaking at Utah Valley University, the first stop on TPUSA's The American Comeback Tour.CHARLIE KIRK ASSASSINATION: TIMELINE OF UTAH CAMPUS SHOOTING DETAILS ATTACK, MANHUNT FOR SUSPECTA heavy police presence was seen throughout the university as hundreds of mourners filled the campus to pay tribute to Kirk, with the vigil including prayers from the student body and a moving film featuring key moments in his career."I'm a Christian," Griffiths said. "I believe that Jesus Christ died for us, and Charlie Kirk believed in the same things. The thing that he always said he wanted to be remembered [for] was his courage and his faith, so we're trying to focus our event tonight on celebrating his faith, andthe man that he was, and how strongly and harshly he worked for the things that he cared for."USU student Travis Ferraro echoed the same sentiments surrounding his Christian faith while attending the candlelight vigil, hosted on the campus quad.CHARLIE KIRK ANSWERED 'HOW DO YOU WANT TO BE REMEMBERED' LESS THAN 3 MONTHS BEFORE KILLING"I felt called by God to pray over everybody, and pray for their families and for everyone surrounding him," Ferraro told Fox News Digital. "And also just to give a devotional, just about how to treat each other with kindness."On Friday, authorities announced the arrest of 22-year-old Tyler Robinson in connection with Kirk's murder. Robinson was taken into custody after a family member notified a friend that he admitted to the killing, Utah Gov. Spencer Cox said in a news conference. However, Kirk remained at the forefront of mourners' minds as students came together to celebrate his life and legacy while the sun set on USU's campus.VIGILS HELD ACROSS US AFTER ASSASSINATION OF CHARLIE KIRK: 'WE MUST HEAL'"I am here because Charlie Kirk made a really big impact on my life," Libby Rasmussen said. "I started watching him probably about 3 or 4 years ago when I was a senior in high school, and he's just really shaped who I am, what I believe in [and] my values. I don't think there's anyone else on this earth like him."Rasmussen went on to describe how Kirk impacted both her political and religious views."Just him going around and preaching that the Bible is the way, and that you just have to believe in God and be faithful," Rasmussen told Fox News Digital. "His faith was [unwavering], and that is what I really just want to carry along throughout the rest of my life as well."Kirk is survived by his wife, Erika Lane Frantzve, and two young children."I definitely believe in God," Manny Chapa said. "I believe in Christ, and [Kirk] just stands behind that. And one of the last things he was able to preach, before his passing, was God. He was able to preach God while he was up on that stage. And it's just beautiful to see a man like that."Fox News Digital's Kyle Schmidbauer contributed to this report.0 Комментарии 0 Поделились 49 Просмотры 0 предпросмотрВойдите, чтобы отмечать, делиться и комментировать!

WWW.FOXNEWS.COMConnecticut GOP accuses Democratic school board chairman of celebrating Charlie Kirk's murderThe Connecticut Republican Party on Friday accused a Democratic state education official of posting a "chilling reaction" on social media to Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirks death. The party shared a screenshot of what appeared to be a social media account belonging to Farmington Board of Education Chairman Bill Beckert, reposting a comment that said, "They Reap What They Sow."Fox News Digital has reached out to Beckert for comment.SPORTS OUTLET SEVERS TIES WITH SUNS BEAT WRITER OVER CHARLIE KIRK ASSASSINATION POSTS"As the official responsible for the education ofFarmingtons children, youd expect Mr. Beckert to show restraint and basic decency," Connecticut Republican Party Chairman Ben Proto said in a statement."Instead, he celebrated the brutal murder of a young husband and father of two, whose only crime was having an opinion. That is grotesque. It is a betrayal of the values every educator and public servant should embody."Proto added that Kirks beliefs were "grounded in faith and love of country," and he "never called for violence."Proto also accused Beckert of wanting to silence those who disagree with him."His words read like an endorsement of political violence," Proto wrote. "Farmington parents and taxpayers must ask themselves: is this the example they want for their children?STATE DEPARTMENT WARNS IT WILL REVOKE VISAS OF FOREIGNERS WHO 'GLORIFY VIOLENCE' AFTER KIRK SHOOTING"Farmington deserves leadership that teaches students to win arguments with ballots, not bullets. Charlie Kirk lived that principle. Chairman Beckerts statement shows he rejects it. The community must decide which lesson it wants its schools to teach."In Florida, a teacher was suspended after allegedly sharing a post on social media that said, "This may not be the obituary. We were all hoping to wake up to, but this is a close second for me."CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APPIn response, Florida Education Commissioner Anastasios Kamoutsas wrote in a memo sent out to state school superintendents this week that said the Florida Department of Education plans to investigate any teachers in the state who engage in "vile, sanctionable behavior" related to Kirks death.0 Комментарии 0 Поделились 61 Просмотры 0 предпросмотр

WWW.FOXNEWS.COMDonald Trump Jr. warns political violence is 'not going both ways' as he mourns Charlie Kirk's deathFollowing Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk's assassination, Donald Trump Jr. warned that political violence in America is coming exclusively from the far-left."When you look at the vilification of Charlie that Im seeing every day since then, the celebration of his assassination in cold blood in front of his wife and young children. Its truly disgusting," he told anchor Martha MacCallum Friday on "The Story." "What was Charlies real crime? He spoke truth. Every day, Martha, he platformed his biggest detractors. He gave the people who hated him the most an opportunity to argue their standpoint."Kirk's killing at a campus event Wednesday in Orem, Utah, has sparked a nationwide conversation about political rhetoric, particularly whether referring to foes as "fascist" or "Hitler" can inspire far-left attacks. Investigators say bullet casings recovered near where Kirk was killed were engraved with anti-fascist phrases, including a reference to "Bella Ciao."I'M A DEMOCRAT, AND CHARLIE KIRK'S MURDER MUST UNITE ALL AMERICANS AGAINST VIOLENCEDonald Trump Jr., who counted Kirk as a close friend, appeared visibly shaken on "The Story" as he reflected on Kirks legacy of activism and the aftermath of his killing."He was a threat [to the left] because he was incredibly effective in taking their narrative and destroying it," he said, noting Kirks proficiency at speaking to advocate for God, family, country, the Constitution and keeping men out of womens sports."These are not exactly radical concepts, although when the left realizes that they are losing arguments, they resort to this violence," he said. "I see the constant violence goes both ways, and it does not Martha the violence is going one way I have had to deal with, you know, three shootings like this to people who are really near and dear to me in the last 14 months and Im getting sick of it."Trump addressed reports about engravings on cartridges believed to belong to the suspect, including a reference to the WWII-era anti-fascist song "Bella Ciao" and the taunt "Hey fascist! Catch!" He argued that when the far-left cant win debates on ideas, it resorts to violence.CHARLIE KIRK WARNED ASSASSINATION CULTURE IS SPREADING ON THE LEFT IN EERIE ONLINE POST MONTHS BEFORE MURDER"Contrary to what were seeing elsewhere and online, its not going both ways," he argued."Its coming from the media, you know, some of them are doing a quick course correction and probably scrubbed their social media feeds for all the things they have said about Charlie, myself, my father over the last few years," Trump added. "But you cant call someone who you disagree with or simply cant win an argument with, a Nazi, a fascist, a dictator, a greatest threat to democracy in the history of civilization, and then pretend you had nothing to do with it when the more radical wing - and there does not seem to be all that much difference to me these days - takes up arms and tries to kill those they disagree with."He concluded, "Its not one way. Its not both ways. Its simply one way. And anyone who is saying otherwise, you know, should be thrown off the air."CLICK HERE FOR MORE COVERAGE OF MEDIA AND CULTURE0 Комментарии 0 Поделились 59 Просмотры 0 предпросмотр

WWW.FOXNEWS.COMCriminologist tells MSNBC she can't find motive for Charlie Kirk's killing in bullet casing messagesMSNBC featured a criminologist on Friday who said she could not identify a clear motive for why conservative activist Charlie Kirks suspected killer targeted him.Criminologist Casey Jordan appeared on "MSNBC Reports" and offered her interpretation of the messages etched into bullet casings found near the suspected shooter Tyler Robinsons weapon. Jordan noted that casings engraved with "Hey fascist! Catch!", and other slogans, did not provide enough of a clue as to why Robinson allegedly shot and killed Kirk, beyond showing hes immature."Im kind of overwhelmed with how immature it all sounds, and that there is no really chronic theme," she said.COMPLETE COVERAGE OF CHARLIE KIRKAuthorities said Friday they apprehended Robinson, the suspect accused of shooting and killing 31-year-old Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk while he was speaking to Utah Valley University students Wednesday.Gov. Spencer Cox, R-Utah, called the killing a "political assassination" on Friday.Law enforcement also recovered the weapon, a bolt-action Mauser .30-06 rifle, along with several spent casings and unfired rounds that had messages on them. The etchings included the phrases, "Notices," "bulges," "OWO," "whats this?," "Hey fascist! Catch!," "Bella ciao bella ciao ciao," "If you read this, you are gay LMAO," and a series of arrows: one pointing up, one pointing to the right, and three pointing down.VIGILS HELD ACROSS US AFTER ASSASSINATION OF CHARLIE KIRK: 'WE MUST HEAL'"Bella Ciao" is an anti-fascist song popularized by left-wing Italian partisans during World War II, according to the New York Post. Despite the casings including anti-fascist messaging, Jordan told MSNBC host Ana Cabrera she couldnt point to a motive."What do you see as the significance or what the message is that hes trying to communicate here?" Cabrera asked."Really, I would need to actually see these words in the way that they are on the bullet casings and the gun to make a proper interpretation," the criminologist replied. She compared the engravings to the "rantings of a really immature child."CLICK HERE FOR THE LATEST MEDIA AND CULTURE NEWS"And we really need to learn a lot more about what was going on in this accused shooters life when all of this was happening," Jordan continued. "Was he in a rabbit hole? Was he - did he have no job? Did he have no purpose? You know, how did he become such a consumer of hate that his family reports he was, you know, talking in, in with hate speech about his feelings about the victim just at the family dinner the night before?"Jordan did say she believed the engraving on suspects casings could have been inspired by the messages police found engraved on weapons owned by the shooter who killed two children and wounded 18 others at a Minnesota Catholic school in August."Mostly, my takeaway is that the writings on the gun and on the bullets really emulate everything we just saw a few weeks ago in the Minnesota Catholic school shooting. So, I dont think this has been a long-term plan. I think it probably was hatched when this alleged shooter heard the Charlie Kirk was coming to the area, his area, in his backyard at a university that he could easily access," she said.Fox News Digital reached out to MSNBC for comment and did not receive an immediate response.CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APP0 Комментарии 0 Поделились 62 Просмотры 0 предпросмотр

It was her first public statement since her husband's assassination on Wednesday at Utah Valley University."To everyone listening tonight across America, the movement my husband built will not die," Kirk said. And his wisdom will endure."She delivered a steely message to the "evildoers responsible" for her husband's death, proclaiming that they "have no idea what they have done.""They killed Charlie because he preached a message of patriotism, faith and of God's merciful love. But they should all know this. If you thought that my husband's mission was powerful before, you have no idea," she said. "You have no idea what you just have unleashed across this entire country."Speaking at a podium next to the desk where her husband conducted his popular podcast show, Kirk said that Turning Point USA, the grassroots organization her husband co-founded, will continue with its fall campus tour as planned and said there will be even more tours in the years to come. The group's annual "America Fest" conference will also continue as planned, which will be held in December in Phoenix, and Charlie's popular weekly podcast will also continue.DAVE RUBIN SAYS CHARLIE KIRK'S DEATH A TURNING POINT FOR THE NATION: UNIMAGINABLE TRAGEDYKirk, who spoke to President Donald Trump Thursday, also told the president she wants to keep alive her late husband's grassroots organization. If they don't check the boxes, move on and go to the next one. Dating for dating's sake is bad for you, it's bad for them, it's bad for everybody," Kirk said when asked about how he knew Erika was "the one.""Five years ago today, we sat inside Bills Burgers in NYC deep in conversation and banter over theology, philosophy, and politics and at the end, you paused, looked at me and said, 'I'm going to date you,'" Erika wrote in a social media post in 2023 reflecting on the pair's first date. WWW.FOXNEWS.COMFired MSNBC analyst defends remarks about Charlie Kirk, says network caved to 'mob'Former MSNBC analyst Matthew Dowd tried to defend the controversial comments he made about Charlie Kirk this week and took a swipe at his former employer Friday for caving to a "mob."Dowd was dropped by the progressive network after suggesting the conservative activist's "hateful" rhetoric had prompted the shooting in Utah that ultimately claimed his life, but he insisted he didn't know Kirk was the victim at the time of his remarks."At MSNBC I have made nearly 1,000 appearances, speaking on a diverse range of topics and always consistently condemned gun violence and political violence of any kind no matter where it came from. This past Wednesday I was asked to come on to talk about a range of topics, and as I was about to go on air, breaking news happened of gun shots being fired at a Kirk event in Utah," the fired pundit wrote in a Substack post."Keep in mind when the anchor came to me to comment on the national environment, the only thing known at the time was shots were fired and there was no reporting yet that Kirk was the target or had been shot at. I said in the moment that we needed to get the facts because we have no idea what this could be and that it could easily be someone firing a gun in the air to celebrate the event. Remember Kirk is a diehard advocate of the 2nd amendment."MSNBC FIRES ANALYST MATTHEW DOWD FOR 'UNACCEPTABLE' COMMENTS ABOUT CHARLIE KIRKDowd attempted to link his comments accusing Kirk of spewing "hateful" rhetoric to wisdom handed down by Holocaust survivors describing 1930s Germany and how "#ItStartedWithWords" came to mind."And I said my now legendary line hateful thoughts lead to hateful words which ultimately lead to hateful actions. I thought to myself how could anyone disagree with this. I guess I was naive," Dowd wrote."The Right Wing media mob ginned up, went after me on a plethora of platforms, and MSNBC reacted to that mob. Even though most at MSNBC knew my words were being misconstrued, the timing of my words forgotten (remember I said this before anyone knew Kirk was a target), and that I apologized for any miscommunication on my part, I was terminated by the end of the day."CHARLIE KIRK ROSE TO BECOME CONSERVATIVE POWERHOUSE, TRANSFORMATIVE CAMPUS FIGUREDowds comments during MSNBCs breaking news coverage of Kirks assassination sparked backlash across social media. Before his firing, MSNBC President Rebecca Kutler released a statement calling Dowd's comments "inappropriate, insensitive and unacceptable" and issued an apology. On Friday, top executives at Comcast, MSNBCs parent company, and Versant, its soon-to-be parent, reprimanded employees for the insensitive coverage."You may have seen that MSNBC recently ended its association with a contributor who made an unacceptable and insensitive comment about this horrific event," Comcast CEO Brian Roberts, President Mike Cavanagh and prospective Versant CEO Mark Lazarus wrote in a memo to staff."That coverage was at odds with fostering civil dialogue and being willing to listen to the points of view of those who have differing opinions. We should be able to disagree, robustly and passionately, but, ultimately, with respect. We need to do better."COMCAST EXECUTIVES SCOLD STAFFERS TO DO BETTER OVER MSNBC COVERAGE OF CHARLIE KIRK ASSASSINATIONKirk, the prominent conservative activist and co-founder of Turning Point USA, was shot and killed at a campus event Wednesday at Utah Valley University. WWW.FOXNEWS.COMDemocratic donors reluctant to give to Biden's presidential library: reportFormer President Joe Biden's new effort to raise money for a presidential library is struggling to attract Democrat donors, according to a report.More than half a dozen people who were once major Biden donors or fundraisers spoke to NBC News, with most saying they have no animosity toward the former president, but either would not give to the library or would only give a limited amount. The donors pointed to several factors, including not wanting to make themselves a target of the Trump administration and reserving their money for the Democratic Partys future. Some of them said they had personal interactions with Bidens inner circle that were so unpleasant they believed it would be difficult to ever raise significant funds for the former president."Id like him to have some nice library," one donor told NBC News. "I just dont see thats where Im going to spend my money."KAMALA HARRIS FUNDRAISING EVENTS HAVE BEEN A FLOP TO HELP RAISE MONEY FOR DNC: REPORTAnother donor said "no way" when asked by the outlet about giving to the library.Biden also faces residual frustration from the party over his decision to initially seek re-election despite health issues that ultimately led to him dropping out of the race last summer after his highly scrutinized mental acuity was put on display during a presidential debate against then-candidate Donald Trump. Former Vice President Kamala Harris then quickly secured the party's nomination before losing to Trump in November."I want an $800,000 refund," personal injury lawyer John Morgan told NBC News, referring to money he said he raised for Biden that went to Harris last year."I dont believe a library will ever be built unless its a bookmobile from the old days," Morgan joked.Susie Buell, a major donor to the party, told the outlet nobody had asked for her donation but that she is "not inclined to give to libraries."The chairman of the library board, Rufus Gifford, who led fundraising for Bidens re-election campaign and was finance director for former President Barack Obama, expressed optimism that donors will want to contribute."Those of us who have been around for a while and love the guy but also understand the full picture want to see what we can do to protect and promote his legacy," Gifford told NBC News. "This isnt about the past. Its about the future."One person familiar with the Biden teams plans said the project seeks to rake in between $200 million and $300 million. In comparison, the Obama Presidential Library set to open in Chicago in the spring cost $850 million. President Donald Trump has also raised millions of dollars for a future library, and the luxury jet gifted to the U.S. government by the Qatari royal family will later be transferred to a Trump library foundation both moves scrutinized by Democrats."It is my opinion no significant building will be built," Morgan said, adding that Bidens age and medical issues could mean the former president might not be much help in raising money for the library."Couple that with the perception that [the partys] woes rest with his decision to seek a second term, and we have the Hindenburg heading straight towards us," he continued.HARRIS TAPS DEM EMAILS LISTS TO MARKET NEW BOOK, SPARKING PARTY NEUTRALITY CONCERNSDonors often complained about a lack of access to Biden when he was in office, saying they were asked to write checks but then could not get a phone call returned.People who frequently interact with major Democratic donors say other potential obstacles include the threat of becoming a target of Trump."This is a very difficult time to raise large checks for Democrats because of how vindictive Donald Trump is," Democratic National Committee fundraising chair Chris Korge told NBC News, citing conversations with donors.Korge also said he had personally called on Biden and his team to focus on raising money for a library and to put aside plans for a second term.0 Комментарии 0 Поделились 46 Просмотры 0 предпросмотр

Spencer Cox said Robinson allegedly discussed details of the crime with his roommate on the Discord app, sending messages about stowing and retrieving a rifle from a "drop point."Holloway told Fox News Digital that if a person was in contact with Robinson about the alleged crime and knew that he intended to commit the crime, that person could be criminally liable."But certainly if they were aware of the object of the conspiracy, i.e. the murder, then any co-conspirator who takes any affirmative act in that direction, whether it's providing him the gun, whether it's saying, You got this, you know, like giving just words of encouragement could be enough, because during a conspiracy, the acts of one person are legally the acts of all co-conspirators," he said.As of Friday morning, Cox said no additional arrests were expected. However, Holloway said that authorities should also be investigating how Robinson obtained the weapon, which could also lead to charges against another person.CHARLIE KIRK ASSASSINATION: TIMELINE OF UTAH CAMPUS SHOOTING DETAILS ATTACK, MANHUNT FOR SUSPECT"So, let's say he got this gun, and the person who sold it or gave it to him had no idea. There might not be a conspiracy charge, but there could be gun charges involved," he said.Holloway noted that it is possible Robinson could have had someone else purchase a gun for him, too, a practice called a "straw purchase.""If I go to a gun store and I buy a gun, I fill out the paperwork in my name and then turn around and hand it to you. That's illegal because that's called a straw purchase. You can't use a straw man to make a gun purchase. That's a very common federal firearm crime is making straw purchases. So that's just one theoretical possibility that's going through my head."Cox said during the briefing that Robinson's family was involved in his surrender."A family member of Tyler Robinson reached out to a family friend who contacted the Washington County Sheriff's Office with information that Robinson had confessed to them or implied that he had committed the incident," he said. The 22-year-old Robinson allegedly climbed onto the roof of the Losee Center on the campus of Utah Valley University midday Wednesday and shot Kirk in the neck once from about 200 yards away, killing him. Kirk was hosting the first event of his America's Comeback tour at the time and was taking questions from attendees when the alleged assassin's bullet struck and killed him.CHARLIE KIRK ASSASSINATION: DISPATCH AUDIO REVEALS SUSPECT IN BLACK TACTICAL GEAR, CARRYING LONG GUNHe briefly attended Utah State University for a semester in 2021 but was in his third year at Dixie Technical College, completing an electrical apprenticeship program, according to the Utah Board of Higher Education. He had received Utah State's highest scholarship, the Resident Presidential Scholarship.Family members told investigators Robinson had "become more political in recent years.""The family member referenced a recent incident in which Robinson came to dinner prior to Sept. 10," Cox said. "In that conversation, Robinson mentioned Charlie Kirk was coming to UVU. They talked about why they didn't like him and the viewpoints that he had."Investigators also spoke with Robinsons roommate."Investigators interviewed that roommate who stated that his roommate, referring to Robinson, made a joke on Discord," Cox explained. "The content of these messages included a need to retrieve a rifle from a drop point messages related to visually watching the area where a rifle was left engraving bullets and a message referring to having left the rifle wrapped in a towel."Fox News' Sarah Rumpf-Whitten, Michael Ruiz, Julia Bonavita, David Spunt and CB Cotton contributed to this report.0 Комментарии 0 Поделились 79 Просмотры 0 предпросмотр

WWW.FOXNEWS.COMUtah Gov. Cox warns against conspiracy theories, slams ugly online reaction to Charlie Kirk assassinationUtah Governor Spencer Cox on Friday condemned the "ugly" and "dark" celebrations of Charlie Kirks assassination, noting that hundreds of leaders across party lines had reached out to him to express their sadness and disgust over the fatal shooting.Cox in an appearance on Fox News' 'Special Report' on Friday afternoon discussed the ongoing investigation into Kirk's murder. The conservative activist was fatally shot during a campus event in Utah on Wednesday. Authorities have since arrested 33-year-old Tyler Robinson as the suspected killer, who is believed to have acted alone, Cox said.WHO IS TYLER ROBINSON? WHAT WE KNOW ABOUT CHARLIE KIRK'S SUSPECTED ASSASSIN"The investigation is ongoing," Cox said. "They're still following every lead. But every piece of evidence we have so far makes it very clear that the assassin acted alone."Cox urged Americans to reject the cycle of political violence and noted that hundreds of Democratic officials had reached out to him to express their true sadness and disgust at the attack. He also warned against conspiracy theories spreading online and called celebratory reactions to Kirk's death "so ugly and so dark.""Those violent images that we saw are just terrible," Cox said. "We're not conditioned for that type of information. We've lost too much of our humanity, and it happens in those dark corners of social media. We just have to find a way to disconnect from that."CHARLIE KIRKS STRONG STANCE ON DEATH PENALTY RESURFACES AFTER UTAH ASSASSINATIONThe Utah governor, who had spoken with Kirk's family and described their grief as "devastating," said the suspected shooter's actions were motivated by hatred toward the Turning Point USA founder and his beliefs."This is an assault on not just him, but on all of us," Cox said. "It is an insult on the very fabric of our country, of our democratic republic, of our ability to speak freely. And we cannot take that lightly."CHARLIE KIRK ASSASSINATION: TIMELINE OF UTAH CAMPUS SHOOTING DETAILS ATTACK, MANHUNT FOR SUSPECTWhile the investigation remains ongoing, Cox said authorities believe the shooter carried the rifle onto the rooftop before the attack rather than assembling it there. After the shooting, Robinson allegedly tried to hide the weapon in the woods wrapped in a towel, where police recovered it later that evening. When asked about the video in which the suspect appeared to be walking with a limp, Cox said it was a "very distinct possibility" that the rifle had been concealed in his clothing. Evidence including the round that struck Kirk is still being processed, he said.Cox also reaffirmed that Utah prosecutors will pursue the death penalty if Robinson is convicted, noting that he believes Kirk's family should be central in the legal process."What I will also say is that we believe very strongly that the victims need to play a role in these conversations," he said. "I want to make sure that in these conversations it's not about me, it really is about the Kirk family Erica, and their kids, and Charlie's parents, his sister all of the family,"0 Комментарии 0 Поделились 80 Просмотры 0 предпросмотр

WWW.FOXNEWS.COMJudge allows ICE to continue courthouse arrests in New York City following legal challengeA federal judge ruled on Friday ICE agents can continue making courthouse arrests in New York City, shutting down a challenge brought by the ACLU and immigrant rights groups.District Judge P. Kevin Castel, a George W. Bush appointee, found there was not enough evidence to suggest that ICE's courthouse arrest policy changes were "unexplained, arbitrary and capricious," as 2021 guidance allowed arrests at or near immigration courts.Noting the 2025 guidance is more "expansive and permissive," Castel acknowledged ICE made the changes because local correctional facilities and prisons, which are considered "safe" locations due to security screenings, are not available due to state and local policies regarding immigration detainers.FEDERAL JUDGE REJECTS MILWAUKEE JUDGE'S IMMUNITY CLAIM IN ICE OBSTRUCTION CASEHowever, the judge did block a Department of Justice policy encouraging immigration judges to dismiss cases so ICE could immediately arrest migrants. The Trump administration in June launched an initiative to arrest illegal immigrants after asylum hearings. The tactic stirred controversy, with critics claiming migrants seeking legal citizenship would be less likely to show up to hearings, and those who are arrested after hearings may not have additional criminal histories.NEW JERSEY'S BAN ON PRIVATELY OPERATED ICE DETENTION CENTERS STRUCK DOWN BY COURTVideos of the arrests went viral on social media, with some going so far as accusing ICE of "kidnapping" migrants."In its fervor to expel as many immigrants as possible from the country, the Trump administration is targeting immigrants in the very place set up to adjudicate their status: immigration court," Diana Konat, deputy executive director of Policy and Advocacy at African Communities Together, wrote in a statement published by the ACLU. "Every day, our members are forced to choose between being kidnapped and/or put into expedited removal, or risking deeper legal consequences because they're too scared to go to court.""This is exactly what the administration intended: for people to be so fearful of enforcement that they forfeit the very resources and systems in place to protect them. Were bringing this lawsuit on behalf of our members and fighting for justice."LOS ANGELES JUDGE WEIGHS SEVERE LIMITS ON TRUMP'S IMMIGRATION ENFORCEMENT IN CALIFORNIASome judges have fought back against the policy, allegedly aiding migrants' escape after hearings.Milwaukee Judge Hannah Dugan was indicted in May on federal charges after she allegedly told an illegal immigrant to leave through a private exit at the Milwaukee County Courthouse as ICE officials were serving a warrant for his arrest.Fox News Digital's Audrey Conklin and Fox News' Bill Melugin contributed to this report.0 Комментарии 0 Поделились 88 Просмотры 0 предпросмотр
