WNBA stars' All-Star Game message on pay increase draws social media reaction
WNBA stars participating in Saturday nights All-Star Game wore a message on their T-shirts during warm-ups directed at league officials amid tense collective bargaining agreement (CBA) talks. Each WNBA All-Star, including Indiana Fever sharpshooter Caitlin Clark who was sidelined for the game, wore the shirt. The clothing also featured the Womens National Basketball Players Association (WNBPA) logo underneath the message.CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COMThe shirts read, "Pay Us What You Owe Us." However, the message didnt appear to resonate across social media.WNBPA president Nneka Ogwumike praised the players for using their platform."Im just so inspired by the amount of players that showed up, the engagement that was there," she said. "Thats really what its all about. Because the more that happens, the more that were going to be able to get things done. I think today were going to be able to use this conversation to start rolling the ball on things."Players have argued that business has been booming for the league and they deserve an increase in salaries because of it. The WNBA was a part of a new $2.2 billion rights deal that will start next season and, with the league planning to expand to 18 teams by 2030, the new franchises are paying a $250 million expansion fee.WNBA STARS SEND MESSAGE TO LEAGUE BEFORE ALL-STAR GAME AMID CONTENTIOUS CBA NEGOTIATIONSThe New York Post reported last year that the league was projected to lose $40 million during the 2024 season. The new media rights deal is expected to bring at least a $100 million increase from what the league was making on its current rights deal, which the report said was about $60 million in 2024.Even through the contention, WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert said Saturday night that she was optimistic a deal would get done."I'm still really optimistic that well get something done that would be transformational," she said. "And that, next year at All-Star, well be talking about how great everything is. Obviously theres a lot of hard work to be done on both sides to get there."The current CBA is set to expire on Oct. 31.The Associated Press contributed to this report.Follow Fox News Digitalssports coverage on X and subscribe to the Fox News Sports Huddle newsletter.

Nearly 100 people who had still been listed as missing after deadly flash flooding swept across central Texas on July 4 have been found safe, with only three individuals still missing, Kerr County officials said Saturday. The updated missing list comes as the search entered its third week, marking a sharp decline from the more than 160 people initially unaccounted for in Kerr County alone."This remarkable progress reflects countless hours of coordinated search and rescue operations, careful investigative work, and an unwavering commitment to bringing clarity and hope to families during an unimaginably difficult time," Kerrville City Manager Dalton Rice said in a statement the city shared on social media Saturday night. As of Sunday, the death toll in Kerr County stood at 107, including 70 adults and 37 children.NOEM SAYS CRITICISM OF FEDERAL RESPONSE TO TEXAS FLOODING IS ALL POLITICS: DISSERVICE TO OUR COUNTRYAcross Texas, at least 135 people were killed when the gushing waters of the Guadalupe Riverrose 26 feet, washing away homes and vehicles. What Musk's fracture with Trump means for GOPs future: Beating heart of the Republican Party
From "super genius" to "CRAZY," President Donald Trump has changed his tune about SpaceX and Tesla CEO Elon Musk in a matter of months, while the tech mogul has backpedaled his support for the Republican Party and called for a new, third American political party instead.Musk unveiled the creation of the so-called "America Party" after Trump signed into law his massive tax and domestic policy bill, which Musk staunchly opposed due to concerns that it would increase the federal deficit."Today, the America Party is formed to give you back your freedom," Musk said in a July 5 X post. While there is an appetite for a third party in the U.S., Musks so-called America Party is not likely to pick up steam and the tech mogul would have better luck driving reforms in the Republican Party, according to experts."Elon's effort will go nowhere," Republican strategist Matt Gorman said in an email to Fox News Digital. "But I don't doubt it'll make a lot of consultants rich in the process."TRUMP SAYS DOGE MONSTER MAY HAVE TO EAT ELON AS MUSK VOWS PRIMARY ADS FOR LAWMAKERS WHO CROSS HIM ON BBBMeanwhile, Gorman said candidates undoubtedly would prefer an endorsement from Trump over financial backing from Musk the largest donor in the 2024 election cycle who contributed approximately $295 million to Republicans."If given a choice between a Trump endorsement or $20 million in ads from Elon, it's not even a contest," said Gorman, who previously served as the communications director for the National Republican Congressional Committee. "They'd take the Trump endorsement every single time."Political columnist Kristin Tate said that while Musk was helpful in driving public support from wealthy Silicon Valley Americans for Trump, its unlikely these same tech leaders would abandon Trump and follow Musk instead."Trump is the beating heart of the Republican Party right now," Tate said in an email to Fox News Digital."Elon Musk would be better off trying to shape politics from within the Republican Party," Tate said. "A third party effort is doomed to fail. Most of President Trump's supporters see the effort as hostile to Trump and will not support Musk. Meanwhile, all Democrat voters have been conditioned to despise Musk, so they will not support him either."REPUBLICAN LAWMAKERS STAND FIRM AGAINST MUSK'S 'KILL THE BILL' ASSAULT ON TRUMP'S AGENDATate said Trump and Musk should attempt to repair their relationship because "both men bring something important and unique to the GOP."By leaving Trump, and the GOP generally, Musk will chisel off a small fraction of Republican Party voters a fraction that will not be nearly big enough for his new party to win elections, but could be a spoiler for Democrats in elections with extremely tight margins," Tate said.Alex Keyssar, a history professor at Harvard Kennedy School of public policy, said that given dissatisfaction with the two-party system right now, its possible that more third-party candidates could win state and local elections. But its unclear if that would translate over to national elections because the rules governing elections and who may appear on ballots pose additional limitations for those candidates, he said."There's a lot of popular sentiment looking for something else that is creating pressures for a third party," Keyssar told Fox News Digital. "In that sense, Elon Musk is on to something."Still, voters dont appear interested in a third party affiliated with Musk. While 49% of U.S. voters said they would consider joining a third party, 77% said they werent on board if Musk created it, according to a new Quinnipiac University poll released Wednesday.MUSK DOES IMMEDIATE 180 ON TRUMP AS SOON AS LA RIOTS RAGEMusks relationship with Trump first started to unravel, at least publicly, in May toward the end of Musks tenure overseeing the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).Shortly after Musks exit from DOGE, the two traded barbs over the "big, beautiful bill," where Musk said Trump wouldnt have won the 2024 election without his backing. Likewise, Trump accused Musk of going "CRAZY" over cuts to the electric vehicle credits that benefit companies like Tesla, and said Musk had been "wearing thin."CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APPMeanwhile, Trump isnt counting on Musks political party taking off anytime soon, and told reporters July 6 that he believed another party "just adds to confusion.""Third parties have never worked, so he can have fun with it but I think its ridiculous," Trump said.

"The press was wonderful, and the fans were overwhelmingly warm and enthusiastic."Karath said its a no-brainer that the castmates have remained close over the years.CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR THE ENTERTAINMENT NEWSLETTER"I think the secret behind our friendship is the secret of all enduring friendships, although ours started at a film studio; staying close, loyal, and being there for one another," the actress explained."As for the films enduring appeal, beyond the soaring melodies and beautiful locations, it is the story of a real family who loved one another and were truly courageous.""The Sound of Music" premiered on March 2, 1965. The Oscar-winning film was inspired by the real-life von Trapp family that fled Austria to escape the Nazi regime. It tells the tale of a 1930s governess who watches over the large family and their widowed father, with the help of music.Descendants of the von Trapp family now run the von Trapp Family Lodge & Resort in Vermont."Here is a little-known fact - the film family is friends with the real family," said Karath. "I just had a wonderful conversation with Elizabeth von Trapp, Werners daughter. Werner was portrayed by Duane Chase and they became friends. "And we did become one in real life. And being in Salzburg, Austria, I think, started my profound love of Europe and history. [But] it was not a fun thing missing my father and brother. But my sister and mother were with me. And our group really became a family, which was wonderful."The films leading lady, Julie Andrews, quickly developed a close-knit bond with the child actors. "There is never a bad moment with Julie Andrews never. Shes just the sweetest, most unbelievable, talented, brilliant human I think we all have the same favorite memory to some extent. That was when she took out her guitar and she just sang to us. And she would have us sing with her in between the scenes to amuse us, to entertain us, to make the time pass. She was a pure delight."Plummer did not offer the same warm and fuzzy feeling, she said."At the time, he was kind of standoffish," Karath admitted. "Very handsome, but I really wasnt noticing men being handsome at [age] five actually let me correct myself. I noticed that George Chakiris was handsome whenhe was in West Side Story."But that all changed decades later."There was an event for 9/11 at the Westport Country Playhouse I went backstage to see him, and he was waiting for me. Paul Newman was the master of ceremonies. He and [his wife] Joanne Woodward grabbed me backstage and said, Your fathers been pacing the floor, hes dying to see you! Such a lovely man. So courtly, charming and funny. Truly delightful."

Christie Brinkley recounts the devastating personal moment that nearly broke her
When Christie Brinkley found out that her husband was having an affair, it "nearly broke her."The veteran Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model is on the cover of Social Life Magazine in celebration of her memoir, "Uptown Girl," which came out earlier this year. The 71-year-old spoke to the outlet about what it was like sharing her story, both the highs and lows. "There were parts where I thought, Please dont cry," said Brinkley when it came to reading her story out loud for the audiobook.CHRISTIE BRINKLEY ADMITS LEAVING BILLY JOEL WASN'T EASY, SAYS 'BOOZE WAS THE OTHER WOMAN'"I tried to keep [my voice] level, but [the publisher] let me be. Let my voice crack. Let it show."One of the moments Brinkley described in the book was discovering how her fourth husband, architect Peter Cook, was unfaithful after eight years of marriage.According to the outlet, Brinkley was at a graduation ceremony in 2006 to give a commencement speech. She described how a man approached her with a revelation that had the "weight of a wrecking ball, delivered in barely a whisper.""I asked him to repeat it," she recalled before turning to look at Cook."And then I looked at Jack," she said about her son. "Jacks face was frozen in panic. He felt it instantly. He knew something was very wrong."According to Brinkley, she looked out into the crowd. She saw "mouths agape," reminding her of "The Scream" oil painting.CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR THE ENTERTAINMENT NEWSLETTER"They all knew," the outlet shared. "Maybe some judged. Maybe some didnt. But in that suspended moment, she felt faint, exposed like the floor might drop beneath her."Brinkley said she asked the man if he had a card."No," he said. There, she would get more information about how her marriage was unraveling.Brinkley told the outlet that she didnt know what readers would expect from her book."I had thought this book might sit on shelves," she admitted. "I worried it would embarrass my kids. But people bought it. They loved it. I cried."LIKE WHAT YOURE READING? We bloom in the garden."Brinkley previously told Fox News Digital she dares to love again."I find that love is the strongest thing in the whole world, and we are surrounded by love," she said. Stacey Abrams doesn't rule out another run for office, says true Christians should espouse progressive views
Failed DemocraticGeorgiagubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams isnt ruling out a third run for governor of the Peach State, and said in a Tuesday interview that true Christians should have left-leaning views."I truly have not made any decisions and that is in part because there's an urgency to 2025 that we cannot ignore," Abrams told NPR, concerning whether she'll run again. "My focus right now is on how do we ensure that we have free and fair elections in 2026? There's a lot of hope being pinned on the '26 midterms."Abrams was the minority leader of the Georgia House of Representatives from 2011 to 2017, and lost the 2018 Georgia governor's race to current Gov.Brian Kemp. She also lost to him again in a 2022 rematch.STACEY ABRAMS CONSIDERS 3RD RUN FOR GEORGIA GOVERNOR DESPITE BACK-TO-BACK DEFEATSShe also told NPR that true Christians should be progressive, and that it was her responsibility to help immigrants and the dispossessed."I watched my parents live those values that education matters, that faith matters, and that helping people matters,"Abrams said. "And for me, those are the values that guide me, my faith first and foremost," she added."I cannot call myself a Christian and not believe that it is my responsibility to help the stranger, to help immigrants, to help the dispossessed. I cannot say that my faith justifies the venom that has been turned against the LGBTQIA community, the way we have demonized the transgender community. I cannot be a woman of faith who has read the Bible and just conveniently pick the passages I like," Abrams continued. STACEY ABRAMS TOUTS 10 STEPS TO AUTOCRACY, SAYS 'DO NOT LET THE PROPAGANDA WIN'Abrams also decried PresidentDonald Trumps decision to deploy the military in Los Angeles, calling it "a violation of every precept of democratic rule under a civilian leader that we have in this country."In June, Trump sent abattalion of 700 U.S. Marines as well as 2,000 National Guard troops to Los Angeles to help quell riots protesting ICE immigration enforcement actions thatresulted in violence, including the burning of the American flag and the assault on law enforcement officers. What Abrams found especially upsetting, though, was Trumps executive orders on DEI, including "Ending Illegal Discrimination and Restoring Merit-Based Opportunity," directing federal agencies to end all DEI practices and asking the private sector to "end illegal DEI discrimination and preferences."CLICK HERE FOR MORE COVERAGE OF MEDIA AND CULTURE"For me, the most important piece, though, was the number of directives, the executive orders that came out at the very beginning against DEI,"Abrams said."And people dismissed it as, Oh, well, this is just stopping quotas, or This was an HR thing," she added. "But no, he was intentionally setting up a system of belief that the protection of the vulnerable, that the corrective actions this nation has taken for 249 years, that those things were somehow inherently wrong.""And it was designed to allow for the later attacks that we have seen on all of these different communities. Because if you can demonize at the beginning, it becomes a lot easier to dehumanize when it matters," Abrams said.

Adams, Cuomo trade jabs in interviews as Dems-turned-independents court anti-Mamdani vote
Former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo and New York City Mayor Eric Adams took aim at each other in separate interviews, as each tries to position himself as the right choice for those who do not want their far-left opponent Zohran Mamdani to be the city's next mayor.During a Saturday breakfast event in the Hamptons hosted by businessman and conservative radio host John Catsimatidis, Cuomo took a veiled shot at Adams by arguing that New York City hasn't had a "competent" mayor since Michael Bloomberg left office in 2013, the New York Post reported.Cuomo who, like Adams, is running as an independent against Democratic nominee Mamdani and Republican Curtis Sliwa added that the city currently "feels out of control."Adams, meanwhile, was not shy about criticizing Cuomo while making his own case as the choice for moderates and conservatives who do not want the democratic socialist Mamdani.UNEARTHED SOCIAL MEDIA POSTS EXPOSE RADICAL ANTI-ISRAEL VIEWS OF MAMDANI'S DAD: 'COLONIAL OCCUPATION'"Andrew Cuomo is running from his record. Bail reform. I had to fix that. Cannabis Law. I had to fix that. Raise the Age [which ended automatically prosecuting 16- and 17-year-olds as adults]. I had to fix that," Adams said in a Thursday interview with the Post."You look at my record, and then you compare it to his record. I had to fix his mess. He created a mess for our city, and I got to fix it," the mayor added.MAMDANI'S FAILURE TO WALK BACK THESE POSITIONS COULD CAUSE RECKONING IN DEMOCRATIC PARTY: 'FIVE-ALARM WARNING'Both men also took their fair share of shots at Mamdani, as well.Cuomo warned that he would "move to Florida" if Mamdani is elected, although his campaign insisted to the Post that this was a joke."Governor Cuomo would never give up on New York," Cuomo spokesman Rich Azzopardi told the newspaper. "That said, the line underscored the stakes in the upcoming election and the risk of electing a dangerously inexperienced, hate-spewing 33-year-old socialist whose campaign consists of unrealistic bumper sticker slogans.""Look at [Mandanis] policies: once you empty out Rikers Island, thats a major impact," Adams told The New York Post, referencing Mamdani's plan to reduce the prison's population. "Its going to go back to the communities that crime came from."Adams, a former police officer, went on to criticize Mamdani's plan to have social workers respond to domestic violence calls rather than police.Adams referenced NYPD Officer Wilbert Mora, 27, and his partner Jason Rivera, 22, who were shot and killed responding to a domestic violence call in 2022."Mora and Rivera, the two cops who were shot in the beginning of my [mayoral] career, they died and were assassinated responding to a domestic violence call," Adams said.Fox News Digital reached out to the Adams, Cuomo and Mamdani campaigns for comment, but they did not immediately respond.Mamdani secured the Democratic nomination last month, leaving voters who are not among the far left to choose between two Democrats-turned-independents in Adams and Cuomo, and the Republican Sliwa.

AI can simulate a teacher, but it cant shepherd a soul
Across America, education is changing at a pace few could have imagined even a decade ago.Artificial intelligence is being deployed to train machines to teach our children. School systems are embedding gender ideology and political agendas into their curriculum with little regard for parental input. At the same time, traditional values are being pushed to the margins, and our students are caught in the middle. Were witnessing a moment that demands urgent attention: Will we preserve the soul of education, or surrender it to machines and ideologies that dont know the human heart?WE HAVE TO ACT NOW TO KEEP AI FROM BECOMING A FAR-LEFT TROJAN HORSEThe recent announcement that Microsoft, OpenAI and Anthropic are launching an AI-powered "teacher training academy" is a sign of whats coming. At first glance, it sounds innovative, maybe even helpful. But the deeper question is this: What is education really for?Education is not merely about delivering information. Its about shaping lives. At its best, it forms character, teaches discernment and prepares students to serve their communities with integrity. That kind of formation cant be automated. It requires a relationship. It requires mentorship. It requires people. At Southeastern University, were not anti-technology. In fact, were actively exploring ethical ways to use AI to serve students and improve access to learning.AMERICA HAS THE POWER TO LEAD THE AI REVOLUTION AND THE LEADERSHIP TO MAKE IT HAPPENBut we draw a clear boundary: AI can assist educators, but it must never replace them. Because no machine, no matter how advanced, can love a student, model virtue or guide a young adult toward a life of purpose. We believe every student is made in the image of God, and that shaping a soul requires more than a circuit board. The deeper danger in this shift isnt just logistical, its philosophical. When we hand over the role of teacher to algorithms, were also handing over the power to decide what gets taught, how its taught and what values are emphasized. In an era where AI is already reflecting and amplifying ideological bias, that should concern every parent and educator in America.CLICK HERE FOR MORE FOX NEWS OPINIONAre we prepared to let unelected tech companies, with their own worldviews and profit motives, determine how future generations learn, think and believe? This is about more than machines. Its about the mission of education itself. We must reclaim education as a deeply human, deeply moral enterprise. We must elevate teachers, not replace them. We must ensure that classrooms remain spaces where students are not just informed but transformed, not just prepped for a career, but prepared for a calling. Now is the time for Christian colleges and universities to lead boldly. We must protect the relational core of learning, model truth-seeking without compromise, and remind our nation that the formation of a soul cant be outsourced.Lets use technology, but never be used by it. Lets build an educational future that reflects the dignity of every student, and the responsibility we have to shape them with wisdom, courage and conviction.CLICK HERE TO READ MORE FROM KENT INGLE
