Iran faces August deadline to accept comprehensive nuclear deal or face renewed UN sanctions
Iran has until the end of August to agree to a nuclear deal with the United States and its allies, Fox News has learned.Secretary of State Marco Rubio and the foreign ministers of France, Germany and the United Kingdom set the de facto deadline, according to three sources with knowledge of a call Wednesday among the officials. If Tehran fails to agree to a deal, it would trigger the "snapback" mechanism that automatically reimposes all sanctions previously imposed by the United Nations Security Council.IRAN'S LEADER THREATENS 'EVEN BIGGER BLOW' AGAINST US; TRUMP SAYS HE'S IN NO RUSH TO TALKThe sanctions were lifted under the 2015 Iran deal. The Trump administration has tried pressuring Iran to accept a deal to walk back its nuclear program after U.S. and Israeli strikes targeting nuclear sites.United Against Nuclear Iran, a nonprofit that opposes Tehran's effort to develop a nuclear weapon, applauded Wednesday's news.IRAN VOWS RETALIATION IF UN SECURITY COUNCIL ISSUES SNAPBACK SANCTIONS ON ANNIVERSARY OF NUCLEAR DEAL"Tehran has learned that, for the Trump administration, a deadline means a deadline," UANI Chairman and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush and CEO Ambassador Mark D. Wallace said in a joint statement."After failing to agree to a deal within 60 days of diplomacy, the United States and Israel undertook targeted military action against the regime in June. Consequently, Tehran should take this new deadline seriously."On Monday, Iran warned it would retaliate if the U.N. Security Council imposes the snapback sanctions."The threat to use the snapback mechanism lacks legal and political basis and will be met with an appropriate and proportionate response from the Islamic Republic ofIran," Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei claimed during a press conference, according to a Reuters report.Baghaei didn't specify how Tehran would retaliate.

Sunny Hostin appears to change tune on releasing Epstein files after Trump DOJ declares there's no list
"The View" co-host Sunny Hostin has appeared to change her tone on releasing files related to deceased sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein amid outrage over the Trump administration's declaration that there is no client list.Hostin and her fellow co-hosts discussed the furor from the right on Monday, calling for the release of the supposed list and more information in general about Epstein's case. That put Hostin on the side of some of the most right-wing elements of President Donald Trump's base, who are angry that he's sided with Attorney General Pam Bondi and derided his own supporters for being too invested in the dead man's case.Referring to Trump downplaying the controversy, she said, "So now hes calling his supporters selfish, hes trying to make this go away, yet in 2002, he told New York Magazine, I have known Jeff for 15 years. He is a terrific guy. Hes a lot of fun to be with. It is even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do and many of them are on the younger side.'""So he said that and then also what Pam Bondi didnt release because its already been released. Trumps name is on the passenger logs of Epsteins aircraft at least seven times. Thats already been made public. I mean, of course, Trump is denying any and all allegations, but all of that information is out there. Why not just put it to rest and say, release the list?"BONDI UNDER SIEGE AFTER DOJ REVEALS NO EPSTEIN CLIENT LISTTrump's supporters have called out the administration after the Department of Justice determined that Epstein committed suicide in 2019 and that there is no list detailing who allegedly took part in Epstein's history of sexual deviancy. Bondi, as well as FBI Director Kash Patel and Deputy FBI Director Dan Bongino, had all called for Epstein's sex-trafficking secrets to be made public long before the DOJ's stunning about-face.Hostin called for more information to be released, demanding Epstein associate Ghislaine Maxwell testify on whether the list exists or not. Maxwell is serving a 20-year prison sentence for sex trafficking and helping procure Epstein's young victims.Hostin's attitude appeared to mark a significant shift in her thinking from just one year ago. While discussing the unsealing of a set of Epstein files in January 2024, Hostin advised against repeating any names released in the files."I was very concerned about some of the coverage that Ive seen. People were dying for this information," Hostin said on "The View" at the time, in a clip first flagged on X by the account Maze."There was some sort of list that everybody thought would come out, and whos on the list? Only some of the documents have been released, about 900 of them. Theyve been unsealed. The documents have identified numerous Epstein associates and figures mentioned in proceedings of the 2015 defamation lawsuit brought by Virginia Giuffre against Ghislaine Maxwell," she continued.DOJ BRASS VOWED FULL TRANSPARENCY ON EPSTEIN BEFORE TURNING UP EMPTY-HANDED"Whats important for us to note is we shouldnt be repeating names that are on the list, because just because your name has not on the list but in the documents just because your name is on the documents doesnt mean that you have done anything criminally irresponsible or illegal or civilly irresponsible," Hostin cautioned. She went on to say that it was "extremely important" to note because "conspiracy theorists seem to not understand or enjoy facts."House Democrats have now called for a public hearing on the issue amid Republican back-and-forth over the DOJ's announcement."I do think that this is not going away because of the severity of what could be in these files and because of the severity of the crimes," Hostin said Tuesday. "Democrats are embracing the politics of the situation for a change. Theyre actually taking it head-on."CLICK HERE FOR MORE COVERAGE OF MEDIA AND CULTUREFox News' Ashley Oliver and Emma Colton contributed to this report.

Andrew Cuomo jump-starts car and political comeback in new NYC mayoral campaign advertisement
Critics are ripping apart the latest campaign ad for New York City mayoral candidate Andrew Cuomo, which shows the former Empire State governor helping a fellow New Yorker by giving his vehicle a jump-start on the side of a city street."New Yorkers, start your enginesTogether, we can fix this city!" Cuomo said in a post on Instagram that included the campaign video. "We can be there for each other. We help. We do. And we will together."The accompanying video begins with Cuomo looking down into the open engine compartment, while appearing to signal to the driver to give the engine a crank.A clicking sound is then heard before Cuomo jumps into action, and the camera pans down to show the black jumper cable attached to the negative battery terminal, and the red cable in the mayoral candidates hand.FORMER OBAMA STAFFER RIPS CUOMO CAMPAIGN VIDEO: 'NO MESSAGE, NO CHARISMA'Cuomo then connects the red cable to the vacant battery terminal before jump-cutting to where he is getting into the drivers seat of another vehicle, perceived to be his. After starting the vehicle, Cuomo looks into the rearview mirror of his vehicle, and the shot switches to the driver in the other vehicle, turning the key.The car starts right up, and the driver gets out with a smile on his face. He then slaps five with Cuomo, though you do not see the candidates face.'IN IT TO WIN IT': CUOMO REFUSES TO BACK DOWN IN HEATED NYC MAYORAL RACE AGAINST ZOHRAN MAMDANIThe two are then seen talking afterward as Cuomo hands the other driver the jumper cables. While the video may give off a positive vibe to some, critics took every opportunity to slam Cuomos newest ad.One viewer wrote, "He hooked up the cables in the wrong order," while another wrote, "Hi Cuomo media team! Hope you leave this off your resumes."Cuomos marketing team was also accused in the comments of being out of touch with voters.CUOMO, ADAMS TRADE SHOTS OVER WHO SHOULD DROP OUT IN RACE AGAINST MAMDANI FOR NYC MAYORWhen reached for comment on Wednesday, Cuomos team told Fox News Digital the reactions are "the height of stupidity.""The governor is a trained mechanic who put himself through college driving a tow truck for AAA," the spokesperson said. "The permanently online trolls wasting their time criticizing him helping a fellow New Yorker would likely have to call AAA if they were in the same situation. They should touch some grass."But not all the comments were negative toward Cuomo. In fact, one viewer praised the video and Cuomos campaign ad."Alright, let's hear those engines roar! Start your engines!" the viewer wrote. "The type of leadership that has hands on experience and stops to help complete strangers in time of need. Don't mind getting hands dirty and always lending a helping hand. Kind and considerate which we need more of. Andrew Cuomo is that guy!"SCANDAL-PLAGUED FORMER GOV ANDREW CUOMO AIMS TO PULL OFF POLITICAL COMEBACK IN THE NATION'S BIGGEST CITYThe former three-term governor, who is gunning for a political comeback after resigning in 2021 amid multiple scandals, was convincingly defeated last month by Mamdani in the Democrat mayoral primary.Mamdani's primary victory over Cuomo and nine other candidates rocked the Democrat Party, and boosted the Ugandan-born 33-year-old state assemblyman from Queens toward becoming the first Muslim and first millennial mayor of the nation's most populous city.Cuomo, in a video on Monday announcing his decision to stay in the race, said, "Only 13% of New Yorkers voted in the June primary. The general election is in November, and I am in it to win it."And Cuomo charged, "My opponent, Mr. Mamdani offers slick slogans but no real solutions."While he acknowledged Mamdani's victory in the primary, Cuomo left the door open to a November run as an independent candidate, which election rules in New York state permit.Fox News Digitals Paul Steinhauser and Deirdre Heavey contributed to this report.

Duo on pretrial release allegedly lead police on high-speed chase after retail theft
Two Chicago women allegedly led police on a high-speed chase after stealing clothes from a retail store while on pretrial release for theft-related charges, according to authorities. The DuPage County States Attorneys Office said 38-year-old Shawanda Outlaw and 27-year-old Destiny Jackson have been charged with single counts of burglary and retail theft, as well as two counts of aggravated fleeing and eluding a police officer. The Oak Brook Police Department responded to a report of a burglary/retail theft at 12:30 p.m. Monday, to review footage of the theft.Responding officers spoke with the loss prevention officer and reviewed security footage, and it is alleged that Jackson and Outlaw entered the store, picked out 18 items of clothing worth $1,674, and went to the fitting room.ORLEANS PARISH DA SAYS SHERIFF'S OFFICE 'COMPROMISED' AMID LAWSUIT, JAILBREAK INVESTIGATIONOnce in the fitting room, the pair allegedly put the clothing on their bodies in layers and left the store without paying for the merchandise, the states attorneys office said.Later that day, an officer with the Oak Brook Police Department spotted Jackson and Outlaw in a blue Nissan and activated the emergency lights and sirens to conduct a traffic stop. But instead of pulling over, the driver, later identified as Jackson, allegedly drove off at a high rate of speed.Jackson allegedly led police on a high-speed chase, swerving in and out of traffic while also using the shoulder to pass vehicles on multiple occasions. She is also accused of driving into oncoming traffic near a hospital to avoid slower-moving vehicles.AUNT URGES CONVICTED MURDERER TO SURRENDER AS ORLEANS PARISH JAIL MANHUNT CONTINUESPolice reported that the officer reached speeds of up to 82 mph, though she was not able to gain ground on the Nissan. Jackson eventually drove onto Interstate 290, where her vehicle was boxed in with assistance from the Chicago Police Department.Police also allege that the two suspects threw merchandise from the store out of the windows while fleeing police.Jackson and Outlaw were ultimately arrested at the scene. The state attorneys office said Outlaw appeared in court Monday morning, and during the hearing the court denied a request to detain the suspect pretrial. But following the hearing, the state filed additional motions to revoke Outlaws pretrial release because of pending cases alleging she stole merchandise from two other stores on three separate occasions. Judge Daniel Guerin and Judge Mia McPherson granted the motions.CALIFORNIA MAN ACCUSED IN RECENT MURDER WAS LET OUT OF JAIL ON 'MENTAL HEALTH DIVERSION' SIX MONTHS AGOJackson is currently on parole for aggravated battery to a police officer and retail theft from 2023, yet she was on pre-trial release in Will County for another retail theft case.During Jacksons pretrial hearing on Monday afternoon, Judge Joshua Dieden granted the states request for pretrial detention.Jackson is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 11, while Outlaw is scheduled to appear Aug. 26.DuPage County States Attorney Robert Berlin accused Outlaw and Jackson of thumbing their noses at the criminal justice system and allegedly committing another crime while on pre-trial release."To further aggravate the matter, it is also alleged that in an attempt to avoid apprehension, the two defendants led authorities on a high-speed chase in the middle of the day, endangering the police officers involved, other motorists, pedestrians and shoppers along the way," Berlin said. "In DuPage County we have zero tolerance for the type of behavior alleged in this case. The new charges against these women, who were both previously granted pretrial release, illustrates the need for changes to the States Safe-T-Act to give judges more discretion at First Appearance Court."Too often, we are seeing repeat offenders released pre-trial because the Act does not allow judges to use their discretion for certain offenses."The Safety, Accountability, Fairness and Equity-Today (SAFE-T) Act, which took effect on Jan. 1, 2023, overhauled Illinois' justice system with provisions that granted more freedoms to defendants and reduced certain felonies to misdemeanors. It also lowered the severity of some misdemeanors, like trespassing, and eliminated cash bail across the state. The SAFE-T Acts most controversial provision, abolishing cash bail, was delayed due to legal challenges over its constitutionality, but the Illinois Supreme Court ultimately ruled in favor of the reform. It took effect Sept. 18, 2023, making Illinois the first state to fully eliminate cash bail.

Theres no doubt about it. But weve also grown through it and weve talked about it from day one no matter what keeps coming at us and every team in the league has faced some sort of adversity," Fever head coach Stephanie White said after the game."Weve got to stop talking about building consistency and weve got to start doing it. Weve got to understand that every single day were going to see opponents' best shots and weve got to be ready for it. And then weve got to find I think some sort of dog in us, right? We play hard and at times we can be disruptive and be really good on the defensive end, and at the end of the day, thats got to be consistent for us."White said the team is looking for a "reset" heading into theWNBA All-Star break which will be hosted by Indiana beginning on Friday. Dentist accused of poisoning wifes shake said he gave her 'too much protein': co-worker
The second day of Dr. James Craig's murder trial hinged on critical testimony from the office manager at his Sunnybook Dental Group practice in Aurora, Colorado, who said Craig flippantly dismissed the first alleged poisoning attempt of his wife, Angela.Caitlin Romero worked at the dentist's office in 2023 and was with Craig for several days during the period he is alleged to have killed his wife by mixing cyanide and tetrahydrozoline, a chemical in eyedrops, in her protein shakes. She told Assistant District Attorney Ryan Brackley and the court that, on March 6 of that year, Craig entered the office unusually late and told her he and his wife had worked out earlier in the morning. He apologized for being late and told Romero Angela wasn't feeling well after he made her a post-workout protein shake.VICTIM OR MANIPULATOR? COLORADO DENTISTS MURDER TRIAL PAINTS DUELING PORTRAITS OF WIFE IN TROUBLED MARRIAGERecalling the conversation, Romero testified that Craig said, "Maybe he added too much protein" to his wife's shake. She said Craig left the office later that day to take his wife to the emergency room, where Angela reported feeling dizzy. She texted her husband that she felt "drugged" before they went to the hospital. She was released without a diagnosis the same day.Craig returned to the office at 5:30 p.m., which was unusual. The practice closes at 4 p.m.When she left for the day, Romero said she was startled to find Craig sitting in the dark, using the computer in an exam room, which was not his usual computer. When she asked him what he was doing, Craig told her he had come back to the office to unwind after a stressful day dealing with his wife's sickness. After Romero left the office that day, she said Craig texted her to alert her that a personal package would be delivered to the office and asked her not to open it. That had never happened before, Romero noted.COLORADO DENTIST'S ALLEGED INTERNET SEARCH HISTORY TAKES CENTER STAGE AS MURDER TRIAL BEGINSOn March 9, Angela returned to the hospital, exhibiting similar symptoms to three days earlier. This time, she was admitted and remained in the hospital until March 14.Romero testified that, on that day, Craig told her he didn't think Angela would live through the night, which Romero said was the second time he had made that prediction since Angela began experiencing symptoms."Evidence that Craig predicted his wife's death twice before it occurred can be significant in his criminal case toprove his alleged intent in his case," Kelly Hyman, a nationally renowned defense lawyer and legal analyst, told Fox News Digital. Hyman is not involved in the tr"Intent in murder cases refers to the accused's mental state at the time of the crime. First-degree murder can require proof of premeditation and specific intent to kill in a criminal case."Predictions of death may suggest that Craig had allegedly been contemplating and planning the act for a period, potentially for a sustained period of time, which mayimply premeditation."The defense chose not to challenge these statements made by Romero, but Hyman said it could have.SMALL TOWN DENTIST FACING TRIAL FOR ALLEGEDLY POISONING WIFE'S PROTEIN SHAKE AMID SECRET AFFAIR"However, the defensewouldchallenge the admissibility and interpretation of such statements and argue that Craigs wife was suicidal," Hyman said. "Also, the defensecould argue that the statements were taken out of context and/ormisinterpreted."On March 13, the package arrived to Craig's practice. A staff member opened the package before bringing it to Romero, who described the contents of the box as a sealed "foil package" and a paper invoice. The box was marked as a biohazard. She checked the invoice to make sure it was the personal package that Craig had discussed with her and saw that it was. On the invoice, she read that Craig had ordered potassium cyanide, which she immediately googled out of curiosity. On March 15, Angela was admitted to the hospital for the final time.Craig was in the office that day and told Romero he had to leave because Angela was returning to the hospital.Romero testified that with suspicions mounting, she then googled symptoms of cyanide poisoning.COLORADO DENTIST'S MURDER TRIAL PUT ON HOLD AFTER DEFENSE SUDDENLY QUIT' PRIOR TO JURY SELECTIONDuring cross-examination, lead defense attorney Lisa Fine Moses pointed to the fact that while Romero had received the package and read that it contained potassium cyanide, she couldn't be sure of that because she did not open the sealed foil package. She also asked Romero about her evening office interaction with Craig on March 6, and Romero conceded that, emotionally, Craig seemed normal during that time.Moses examined Romero's relationship with Craig, which Romero described as an "intimate emotional relationship." She established that the pair were close and often spoke about personal and family matters on personal devices and via channels unrelated to their work.Moses also established that, during the investigation into the alleged crime, when Romero spoke to police, she did not disclose the true nature of their relationship or all of the communications between them. The importance of calling a critical witness like Romero as a witness so early in the trial was not lost on Hyman."The prosecutor will want to start strong and end strong as to the witnesses," she said. "The prosecutor may want to start the case with the most important witness. For example, the star witness, or someone that is going to starttelling the story of the case as to the timeline of the case from start to finish."
