Federal authorities have charged two individuals in connection with a targeted attack on a Texas ICE detention facility earlier this month that left one officer injured as the final suspect remains on the run.John Phillip Thomas and Lynette Read Sharp are charged with alleged accessory after the fact in the July 4 shooting at the Prairieland Detention Center in Alvarado, according to court documents."[Sharp and Thomas] were involved in Signal Chats, which show reconnaissance," Nancy Larson, the acting U.S. Attorney, told "Fox and Friends" on Tuesday, adding the pair are accused of "planning a Google map [and] the location of nearby police departments."Authorities are still searching for alleged attacker Benjamin Hanil Song. Song, 32, is wanted for his involvement in what officials say was an organized attack on ICE officials by a group of 10 to 12 individuals.MANHUNT FOR ICE FACILITY ATTACK SUSPECT REACHES 10 DAYS WITH REWARD MONEY ON THE LINEFour days after the attack, authorities executed a search warrant at Thomas home in Dallas, with Thomas initially denying knowing Song before admitting the pair had been friends since 2022 and previously lived together from September 2024 to late June 2025, according to court documents.Thomas allegedly told investigators he was housesitting for a friend on the day of the attack and met with three individuals the following day, later telling officials the group discussed the shooting and their plans to help Song flee the area. Court documents state Thomas then admitted to transporting Song to a separate home in the area.FBI SEEKING MILITARY VET SUSPECTED IN ICE AMBUSH AT TEXAS DETENTION FACILITYUpon searching Thomas vehicle, officers discovered a loaded 30-round AR-15 magazine and a Walmart receipt for clothing in Songs size dated July 6, according to federal prosecutors.Thomas allegedly told authorities he purchased the clothing for Song.The documents also reveal Thomas was a member of two separate Signal Chat groups that also included Song, with Thomas allegedly removing Song from one of the chats the morning after the shooting.MORE DETAILS REVEALED ON SUSPECTS IN INDEPENDENCE DAY ICE ATTACK IN TEXASThe group chats were also allegedly used by Sharp, in which she is accused of discussing the groups plans to partake in an operation at the Prairieland Detention Center, but divulged that she would not be able to attend due to "family problems" and offered to monitor the chat for the group.The court documents also reveal Sharp allegedly used the online chat to help arrange Songs transport from Thomas to another unnamed individual.Authorities have arrested 14 people for their alleged connections to the attack, while Song remains at large.Fox News Digital was unable to immediately locate attorneys representing Thomas and Sharp.SUSPECT WANTED IN ANTI-ICE TEXAS AMBUSH PREVIOUSLY SUED IN PAST PROTEST INCIDENT"We believe he is somewhere in the Dallas-Fort Worth area but have expanded our publicity efforts to neighboring states just in case," the FBI Dallas Field Office told Fox News Digital on Monday.Song is accused of firing two AR-15-style rifles at a pair of correctional officers and an Alvarado police officer, according to a criminal complaint. FIRST ON FOX The Department of Labor "will take on a greater role" in administering some of the Department of Educations workforce programs as part of President Donald Trumps broader effort to eliminate the Department of Education.A Department of Education memo, first obtained by Fox News Digital, details how the department will implement a "workforce development partnership" to provide a coordinated "federal education and workforce system."The workforce development partnership stems from the Department of Education signing an Interagency Agreement (IAA) with the Department of Labor in May. The IAA is a tool used by government agencies to share resources, collaborate, and streamline services. However, the move was thwarted the next day in McMahon v. New York when a Massachusetts district judge granted a preliminary injunction to the plaintiffs, pausing the IAA andreinstating approximately 1,400 employees at the Department of Education.The Supreme Court on Mondayruled to temporarily pause the lower courts order,allowing the Department of Education to resume its use of the IAA and proceedwith firing hundreds of employees.SUPREME COURT RULES ON EDUCATION DEPARTMENT CUTTING HALF ITS STAFFThe Department of Labor will take on a growing role in executing the day-to-day administration of the adult education and family literacy programs and Opportunity Act and career and technical education programs.While the Department of Labor manages these workforce programs, the Department of Education maintains all statutory responsibilities as well as oversight of these programs. The purpose of this move is to streamline services for states and grantees.The Department of Education said the collaboration "marks a major step in shifting management of select ED programs to partner agencies."While the Department of Labor already administers the majority of workforce programs, U.S. Secretary of Education Linda McMahon said"the current structure with various federal agencies each managing pieces of the federal workforce portfolio is inefficient and duplicative.""Support from the Department of Labor in administering the Department of Educations workforce programs is a commonsense step in streamlining these programs to better serve students, families, and educators," McMahon added.The Department of Education stated that the partnership comes amid a critical talent shortage, considering over one out of 10 youths between 16 and 24 are not working or in school. Furthermore, there are only two replacements for every five retirements in the skilled trades. Brennans final year on the job was a busy one, as he helped launch the "Crossfire Hurricane" investigation into the Trump campaigns alleged ties to Russia during the 2016 election cycle.TRUMP SAYS BRENNAN, COMEY 'CROOKED AS HELL' AMID FBI PROBE, MAY HAVE TO 'PAY THE PRICE'Brennan made notable appearances on both CNN and MSNBC throughout 2017 until he was announced as an MSNBC and NBC News paid contributor in March 2018. The 2017 ICA alleged Russia sought to influence the 2016 presidential election to help then-candidate Donald Trump. But the review found that the process of the ICA's creation was rushed with "procedural anomalies," and that officials diverted from intelligence standards.It also determined that the decision to include the Steele dossier, a now-widely discredited anti-Trump document, "ran counter to fundamental tradecraft principles and ultimately undermined the credibility of a key judgment."Records declassified as part of that review furtherrevealed that Brennan did,in fact, push for the dossier to be included in the 2017 ICA. Brennan testified to the House Judiciary Committee in May 2023, however, that he did not believe the dossier should be included in that intelligence product.The day after the investigation was reported, Brennan appeared on MSNBCs "Deadline: White House" with Nicolle Wallace to downplay the ordeal."Im really shocked that individuals are willing to sacrifice their reputations, their credibility, their decency to continue to do Donald Trumps bidding, on something that clearly is just politically based," Brennan told MSNBC viewers.
