Whyis it that westillget a tiny thrill from checking the mailbox each day? Rationally, we know whatsinthere: bills we dont want, catalogs we never ordered, and that bulky Valpak stuffed with coupons well never use.But somehow, despite the noise, theres a quiet hope we might find something meaningful. Something personal. Something real. Maybe even a long-lost penpal letter. And every onceina while, we do.There it is your name, writteninpen. Ahandwrittenenvelope. Andinside? A genuine thank-you note. No automation. No massemail. Justinkon paper and real human appreciation. That little envelope has the power to elevate your entire day.WHAT AMERICAS WORKING CLASS REALLY WANTS, AND WHY POLITICIANS KEEP IGNORING THEMIna society obsessed with social media, texts, AI, speed and automation, thehandwrittenthank-you note has become an endangered species. But let me tell you: this lost art isnt just a sentimental throwback its a powerful tool that can accelerate your career, grow yourbusiness and make you more money.WhyI Write 5 To10 Thank-YouNotesEvery WeekForover25 years, Ive never stopped writinghandwrittenthank-younotes. Its not because I have time to kill trust me, I dont. Its because Ive seen the ROI firsthand. When you take five minutes to write a thoughtful message that says, "I see you, I appreciate you," it sticks. It differentiates you. Andinbusiness, differentiation is everything. The whole THX thing on text just isnt cutting it.These arent generic "Congrats!" or "Well done!" scribbles. Theyre sincere expressions of gratitude direct, personal, and specific.Intodays digitally distracted world, the impact of that kind of authenticity is impossible tooverstate.THE IMPENDING AI-DRIVEN JOBLESS ECONOMY: WHO WILL PAY TAXES?We liveina 24/7, always-on environment where texts, emails and Slack messages fly by faster than most people can process. But when someone receives ahandwrittennote, they pause. They engage. They remember.Want to Get Ahead? Start Here.Let me cut to the chase: if youre serious about building a successful career, expanding your network, or scaling yourbusiness, you need to resurrect this simple practice.Want to nail the secondinterview? Want clients to remember you and refer you? Want to create real centers ofinfluenceinyour life? Want to build a reputation as someone whogets it? Then start writing thank-younotes.Why? Because almost no one does it. Your competition is too busy or too lazy. That means you have a wide-open opportunity to create emotional resonance where others barely make an impression.THIS IS HOW DONALD TRUMP CAN TERMINATE TARIFF TURMOILRecently, I was on former Congresswoman Mary Bonos podcast "Sagely Speaking." It was humbling to be on the podcast beinginterviewed by her, but after the podcast I took the time to write ahandwrittenthank you and send out a small token of my appreciation for having me on the show. These are the small things you can be doing every day to improve your career andincrease your bottom line.Leaders Say "Please" and "Thank You"Youd be shocked how many people go through their careers expecting things from others without offering even the most basic courtesies. "Please." "Thank you." Common words, uncommoninpractice.Want to build real loyalty within your team? Start showing appreciation. Say thank you out loud, inwriting, inpublic. It costs nothing, and it earns everything: trust, morale, retention. And if youre abusinessowner or executive, hear this: culture starts at the top. I lead by example. Since launching my companies more than 18 years ago, Ive made it a point to write cards every single week. Real cards, with realink.3 WAYS TRUMP CAN DELIVER AN ECONOMIC 'GOLDEN AGE' FOR AMERICAAnd the response? People young and old actually thankme for sending a thank-you card. Thats not strange. Thats a signal. A signal thatintodays economy, emotionalintelligence is as valuable as financialintelligence. The Hidden ProfitinPaper andInkHeres what nobody teaches youinbusinessschool: relationships build revenue. Appreciation drives referrals. Consistency earns loyalty. When you write thank-younotesconsistently, you strengthen your reputation, multiply your touchpoints and turn acquaintancesinto advocates. That translates to better job offers, warmer leads and stronger partnerships.Inshort it makes you money.Try this: commit to writing onehandwrittenthank-you note per day for a year. Thats 365notes. MLW star Matt Riddle on recent pro wrestling departures: 'When one door shuts, another opens'
Major League Wrestling (MLW) star Matt Riddle offered a sunny realization for pro wrestlers amid recent high-profile departures that took place last week.WWE parted ways with the superstars known as Braun Strowman, Dakota Kai, Shayna Baszler, Kayden Carter, Katana Chance, Cora Jade, Gigi Dolan, Riley Osborne, Eddy Thorpe, Jakara Jackson, Joe Coffey, Mark Coffey, Wolfgang, Oro Mensah and Javier Bernal, according multiple reports. Fightful Select noted that departures were not outright releases but rather the decision not to renew contracts.CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COMRiddle was also a WWE release, parting ways with the company in September 2023. He has since performed in New Japan Pro-Wrestling, Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide and has made an indelible mark on MLW by becoming the world heavyweight champion to start the year.He told Fox News Digital that having the opportunity to perform at a high level elsewhere turned out to be a "blessing.""It depends on what you do when you get fired. Its always unfortunate when people lose their jobs, but at the end of the day, for some of us, say for me, for example, it was a blessing," Riddle said. "Sometimes, you just need the right push. Sometimes you need somebody to shut a door on you so another can open. And thats not to say that everyone thats been released, and thats not just pro wrestling, thats any profession.BANGED UP MATT RIDDLE READY TO DEFEND MLW WORLD TITLE AGAINST DONOVAN DIJAK AT AZTECA LUCHA"Trust me, it might seem like its over, or it sucks, but when one door shuts, another opens. Even when I got fired from UFC back in the day, to then come where I did in professional wrestling, and even to now where Im at today. I got fired over a year or so ago, but Ive held eight different championships, and I was able to recapture the one championship I was never able to win, and that was the MLW Heavyweight Championship."Sometimes getting fired is a blessing in disguise."Riddle returned to MLW at Kings of Colosseum in 2024 and won Battle Riot VI that year. In January at Kings of Colosseum, he defeated Satoshi Kojima for the World Heavyweight Championship. He then successfully defended it in a triple-threat match against Kojima and Alex Kane and then against 39 other men in Battle Riot VII.On Saturday, hell face Donovan Dijak in a title defense at Azteca Lucha in Chicago. The event takes place at Cicero Stadium and can be seen on YouTube at 10 p.m. ET.Follow Fox News Digitalssports coverage on X and subscribe to the Fox News Sports Huddle newsletter.

Second-oldest university in nation reports 'really neat' archaeology find on its grounds
The first structure at the second-oldest university in the United States was recently rediscovered by archaeologists and it's not necessarily something to expect at a school.William & Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia, was originally chartered in 1693. The idyllic Southern university houses the oldest university building in the United States, the Wren Building. But the Wren Building is not what was recently discovered rather, a 17th-century brick kiln was found hidden in dirt not far from the colonial-era hall.HISTORIC MARYLAND CHURCH OPENS DOORS TO VISITORS 320 YEARS AFTER CLOSING DOWNElizabeth Monroe, archaeological research manager and co-director of the William & Mary Center for Archaeological Research (WMCAR), told Fox News Digital in an interview that the kiln was first found by archaeologists in the 1930s, who recorded it and then covered it back up with dirt. (See the video at the top of this article.)It wasn't until school employees began restorative efforts trying to waterproof the Wren Building's foundation, for example that the kiln was rediscovered earlier this year. Pictures show excavators painstakingly digging around the brick kiln, which has miraculously survived the centuries."The archaeology that was done in [the 1930s] is not like the archaeology we do today," Monroe said."They were being careful for their time, but not as careful as we would have maybe liked them to be. But still, they revealed many architectural features."LONG-LOST CAPITAL OF ANCIENT CIVILIZATION MAY HAVE FINALLY BEEN UNCOVERED, ARCHAEOLOGISTS SAY: 'UNIQUE FIND'The brick kiln was used to make the clay bricks that used to construct the Wren Building, according to 1993 archaeological report on the structure."These kilns represent the first building of any kind on the site," the report read. "The earth from the basement probably supplied the material for the bricks."The document added, "The kilns were left in situ upon the completion of the restoration [and] they were re-covered with earth."Monroe described it as "probably the oldest building that was on this site.""They would have built it prior to building the Wren," she said. "They would've had to make a lot of bricks to build this building."For more Lifestyle articles, visit foxnews.com/lifestyle"It's got a three-foot-thick foundation, which is how it survived all this time. And several people have said, 'Oh, it's so close to the [Wren] Building.' Well, the building wasn't there yet. There was a hole in the ground where the cellar is, and likely they pulled clay out of that hole to make the bricks that now serve as the structure."Charles Fulcher, director of Wren operations and events at William & Mary, told Fox News Digital that the Wren Building "has been doing largely the same thing for about 325 years."He added, "It was largely usable by 1699, 1700, and students still have classes in this building every single day. We use the Wren [during the] course of daily life, with students coming in and out of classes, just as Thomas Jefferson had classes in this building in the early 1760s."ARCHAEOLOGISTS UNCOVER CENTURIES-OLD SHIPWRECK BENEATH HISTORIC CITY: 'UNIQUE SOURCE OF KNOWLEDGE'He also said, "It is a place where the university holds traditions and ceremonies, events of significance for the whole student body. And it's just really neat to have a moment like this brick kiln discovery to make that age come to life."Despite the novelty of rediscovering the university's oldest-ever structure, the group of historians said that archaeological discoveries are quite commonplace in Williamsburg."Since 1693, buildings have come and gone," Monroe said. "There have been tennis courts come and go. There have been students and gardens and outbuildings and just a wide variety of things changing paths."EXCAVATORS DISCOVER PREHISTORIC VILLAGE BENEATH FUTURE GOLF COURSE: 'REMARKABLE JOURNEY'"Pretty much, you stick a shovel in the ground anywhere on campus, and you're going to come up with something that helps tell the story of the university."WMCAR project archaeologist Tom Higgins echoed the sentiment, telling Fox News Digital that he's encountered many centuries-old artifacts."The basement of the Great Hall [in the Wren Building] had a kitchen that was intensively used for several generations We ended up with a lot of refuse, broken plates and bottles and things like that," he said.CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR OUR LIFESTYLE NEWSLETTER"Lots of the 18th-century and 19th-century refuse from the day-to-day life at the college turns up in that kind of work."Fulcher reported that the rediscovery has proven meaningful to the university community at large, especially the group of students that he supervises to give tours of the Wren building. For more Lifestyle articles, visitfoxnews.com/lifestyle"When the kiln was uncovered and we could see black marks in the soil showing where the fires had been kindled and bricks had been burned I sent out word to all of them," he said."Many of them came by in the middle of the school day just to make sure that they could see it."For now, archaeologists have covered the kiln back up in order to make room for future scaffolding of the Wren Building, and they plan to encounter the kiln again in the future."At some point in the future, we'll be reopening [the ground] around the foundation to actually do the waterproofing that's necessary and replace some drainage pipes," Monroe said."But the goal is to identify where these kinds of sensitive archaeological features are and record that so that future generations as additional improvements need to be made."Fox News Digital's Kyle Schmidbauer contributed to this report.

Axios reporter pushes back on Biden's denial of mental decline, saying White House insiders disagree
Axios reporter Alex Thompson remarked Thursday that members of the Biden White House would "disagree" with President Joe Biden's assertion that claims about his mental decline were false.During an interview on "The View," President Joe Biden and his wife Jill were asked about new books from Democratic sources that claimed there was a "dramatic decline" in the presidents mental faculties during the later part of his term."They are wrong," Joe Biden responded. "Theres nothing to sustain that."Jill Biden added, "One of the things, I think, is that the people who wrote those books were not in the White House with us. And they didnt see how hard Joe worked every single day. I mean, hed get up. Hed put in a full day, and then at night he would Id be in bed, you know, reading my book, and he was still on the phone, reading his briefings. Working with staff. I mean, it was nonstop."AXIOS REPORTER SHOOTS DOWN EXCUSES FOR BIDEN'S DEBATE PERFORMANCE: 'I'M NOT SURE IF THERE'S A GOOD ONE'CNN host Boris Sanchez asked Thompson on "CNN News Central" later that day to respond to Bidens comments, leading the Axios reporter to insist there was not only a decline but a cover-up as well."Well, Id say, our reporting shows that many people inside the Biden White House disagree, and they do believe that there was a significant decline and a cover-up of that, especially in 2023 and 2024," Thompson said.Thompson recently accepted the White House Correspondents Associations Aldo Beckman Award for Overall Excellence in White House Coverage. His reporting closely documented Bidens disastrous debate performance against President Donald Trump, the events leading up to it, and Bidens eventual decision to exit the race.During his acceptance speech, he called out the mainstream media for largely ignoring signs of Bidens decline until it couldnt be denied anymore.CLICK HERE FOR MORE COVERAGE OF MEDIA AND CULTURE"President Biden's decline and its cover-up by the people around him is a reminder that every White House, regardless of party, is capable of deception," Thompson said."Some people trust [the media] less because of it," he said. "We bear some responsibility for faith in the media being at such lows. I say this because acknowledging errors builds trust, and being defensive about them further erodes it."Thompson concluded, "We should have done better."CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APP

Draymond Green upset with 'agenda' that he is an 'angry Black man'
Draymond Green was assessed his fifth technical foul in just his ninth playoff game this year - two more would warrant an automatic suspension. In the second quarter, Green elbowed Naz Reid after Reid had just fouled him.Green was suspended indefinitely last season for his on-court antics that had been brewing since the prior playoffs, including stomping on Domantas Sabonis. He also put Rudy Gobert in a chokehold and hit Jusuf Nurkic with an open hand, which led to the extended suspension.CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COMHowever, after the game, Green seemed to hint that he believes there is an "agenda" against him that he is an "angry Black man.""Looked like the angry Black man. I'm not an angry Black man. I am a very successful, educated Black man with a great family, and I am great at basketball and great at what I do," he said."The agenda to try to keep making me look like an angry Black man is crazy. I'm sick of it. It's ridiculous."In the Warriors' last season, Green admitted he was "embarrassed" that he "pouted way too much" during a game at home in which they lost that forced a Game 7. He said he had "some heart-to-hearts" with "people I trust the most" after that game.CELTICS LEGEND PAUL PIERCE WALKED 20 MILES TO FOX STUDIO AFTER BOLD PREDICTION GOES HORRIBLY WRONGHead coach Steve Kerr said that Green's actions that led to his tech are "habit.""It's just a habit he has when somebody fouls him, and he's smart," Kerr said.
