Eagles' Nick Sirianni blasts 'bulls---' narratives around Super Bowl champ Jalen Hurts
Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni snapped back at critics who have claimed that quarterback Jalen Hurts was carried to a Super Bowl title during the 2024 season.Sirianni on Monday didnt want to hear any of it and slammed the "bulls---" narratives around Hurts that he was just a game-managing quarterback who was helped tremendously due to the addition of a superstar running back and an elite offensive line.CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COM"I mean, he plays the most important position in all sports," Sirianni said, via NBC Sports Philadelphia. "And it's the most ultimate team game there is. And what I admire about him is his selflessness of doing anything we need to do to win."I mean, obviously, anybody who plays quarterback is going to want to throw it 50 times a game. But he'll do anything. If he has to throw 50 times a game, he's ready to do that. If he has to hand it off 50 times a game, he's ready to do that."The Eagles were 14-3 in the regular season before going on a playoff run that led to a brutal beatdown of the two-time defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs.Meanwhile, the offense was seventh in points scored and eighth in yards gained in the NFL. Hurts had 2,903 passing yards and 18 passing touchdowns. It also helped to have Offensive Player of the Year Saquon Barkley in the backfield.JETS, GARRETT WILSON AGREE TO MASSIVE CONTRACT EXTENSION: REPORTSFor Sirianni, what mattered the most to him was to put the team in a position to win ball games."You name me a team that wins and wins consistently that doesn't have good players around you," Sirianni said. "Like, you name me a coach that doesn't have good players around him that wins. Like, you don't win with bad players, and it's the same thing you don't win with bad players as you're a quarterback either."It's a team game. Yeah, that always bothers me to be honest with you, when it's talked about because it's football."Hurts has proven to be an elite quarterback since he took the starting job in 2021. Hes a two-time Pro Bowler and was the Super Bowl LIX MVP.In 77 games with the Eagles over his career, he has 14,667 passing yards and 85 passing touchdowns.Follow Fox News Digitalssports coverage on X and subscribe to the Fox News Sports Huddle newsletter.

Obama tells Democrat big wigs to 'toughen up,' start backing candidates that can actually win
Former President Barack Obama had blunt words for Democratic Party donors, telling them at a Friday fundraiser to "toughen up" and "stop looking for a quick fix" after the Democratic Party became locked out of power following the 2024 election cycle."I think its going to require a little bit less navel-gazing and a little less whining and being in fetal positions. And its going to require Democrats to just toughen up," Obama said at the fundraiser, according to excerpts obtained by CNN. "Dont tell me youre a Democrat, but youre kind of disappointed right now, so youre not doing anything. No, now is exactly the time that you get in there and do something."Obama is not alone in urging his fellow Democratic colleagues to take a more aggressive approach following the GOP's momentum in 2024. The former president articulated that his view of becoming more aggressive and toughening up means standing up for policies and candidates that are unpopular, or that may make lawmakers feel uncomfortable, but in the end have the best chance to deliver.FORMER OBAMA SPEECHWRITER ADMITS SHUNNING CONSERVATIVE IN HIS FAMILY WAS A MISTAKE"Dont say that you care deeply about free speech, and then youre quiet. No, you stand up for free speech when its hard. When somebody says something that you dont like, but you still say, You know what? That person has the right to speak. Whats needed now is courage," Obama added in his remarks at the fundraiser, which drew in $2.5 million and was hosted by New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy and his wife, Tammy Murphy, at their home."Stop looking for the quick fix," he added. "Stop looking for the messiah. You have great candidates running races right now. Support those candidates."The former president pointed particularly at the upcoming elections in New Jersey and Virginia. Later this year, Virginia will face a major gubernatorial battle between incumbent GOP Gov. Glenn Youngkin's Lt. Gov. Winsome Earle-Sears and former long-time Virginia Rep. Abigail Spanberger, D-Va.In New Jersey, Democrat Rep. Mikie Sherrill, who was reportedly in attendance at the Friday fundraiser, is running for her state's open gubernatorial seat against GOP candidate Jack Ciattarelli.RAHM EMANUEL WARNS DEMS HAVE BECOME PARTY OF 'PUNKS' WHO 'TALK DOWN TO PEOPLE' AND FRET OVER IDENTITY POLITICSBoth states will also hold new state House elections and a slate of other local elections. In Virginia, there will also be a special election this year to replace the late Rep. Gerry Connolly, D-Va.Amid his remarks, Obama described Spanberger and Sherrill as "powerful spokespersons for a pragmatic, commonsense desire to help people and who both have remarkable track records of service.""The most important thing you can do right now is to help the team, our candidate to win," he said. "And weve got to start building up our coffers in the DNC."Obama acknowledged the party's increasing propensity to nominate progressive, far-left candidates, such as the recent choice of Zohran Mamdani over former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo in the New York City mayoral race, but argued that what they are promoting and what centrist Democrats are pushing are not mutually exclusive.CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APP "Theres been, I gather, some argument between the left of the party and people who are promoting the quote-unquote abundance agenda. Listen, those things are not contradictory. You want to deliver for people and make their lives better? You got to figure out how to do it," Obama said Friday."I dont care how much you love working people. They cant afford a house because all the rules in your state make it prohibitive to build. And zoning prevents multifamily structures because of NIMBY," he added, referring to "not in my backyard" views by residents who oppose development in their neighborhoods. "I dont want to know your ideology, because you cant build anything. It does not matter."Obama said that what was being asked of his fellow Democratic Party leaders was to "make some effort to stand up" for what they believe is right, even if it makes them a "little bit uncomfortable."Fox News Digital reached out to Obama's office for comment but did not receive an immediate response.

Progressive Dem rep faces backlash for calling ICE 'Nazi thugs' while defending MS-13 gang member
A progressive Democratic state representative sparked controversy after referring to ICE agents as "Nazi Gestapo thugs" following an ICE operation in Providence, Rhode Island, that resulted in the arrest of a known MS-13 gang member."The Nazi Gestapo ICE thugs kidnapped another of our neighbors in Providence this morning. This time on Alverson St.," wrote Rep. Enrique Sanchez in social media posts."The ICE thugs damaged a couple of residents cars as well. They think they are above the law. I strongly condemn this act of terror and will be demanding answers and seeking action tomorrow. I am tired of this s**t. Providence doesnt want ICE thugs in our city."DEM REP. GOMEZ CLAIMS ICE IS TARGETING 'ANYBODY THAT IS BROWN' IN IMMIGRATION RAIDSThe arrest in question was of Ivan Rene Mendoza Meza, a 27-year-old Honduran national illegally present in the U.S. and a self-admitted member of the violent MS-13 gang.ICE sources told Fox News that during the operation, Mendoza attempted to flee, causing a crash by striking ICE vehicles before running into his apartment. He was eventually surrounded and surrendered to agents.CONSERVATIVES FLIP SCRIPT ON WALZ, DEMS FOR USING 'DANGEROUS' NAZI-ERA TERM TO DEFINE ICEMendoza was seen smirking in his arrest photo, seeming to be unfazed by his capture.Mendoza has a history of criminal activity, including fentanyl trafficking charges in Rhode Island. ICE Boston had previously lodged an immigration detainer against him following those charges in August 2023. However, the 6th District Court of Rhode Island declined to honor the detainer, releasing Mendoza without notifying ICE, forcing agents to locate and arrest him in the community.ICE ARRESTS MS-13 MEMBER WITH LENGTHY RAP SHEET AFTER VIRGINIA COUNTY REFUSED TO COOPERATEAccording to ICE Boston spokesperson James Covington, "Mendoza is a self-admitted member of MS-13 in Honduras and states he has committed crimes on behalf of the gang."ICE spokesperson Emily Covington criticized Sanchezs remarks: "Mr. Sanchez thinks so little of his community that he refers to ruthless MS-13 as his neighbors? What say you, Providence? The only thugs we see are the illegal terrorist gangbangers we are trying to remove from the neighborhoods of Providence."Mendoza originally entered the U.S. illegally near San Ysidro, California, in May 2019 and was quickly returned to Mexico. However, officials say he later re-entered the country unlawfully at an unknown time and place.Sanchez, who has strongly opposed immigration enforcement, taunted ICE agents on Sunday after a farmworker died from injuries sustained from a fall during an immigration enforcement raid on a California cannabis farm."F*** ICE," Sanchez wrote. "Vallanse a la chingada ICE.""State Representative Enrique Sanchez (D), who was arrested for DUI earlier this year, calls ICE agents "Nazi Gestapo thugs" in an online rant after an MS-13 gang member facing fentanyl charges was arrested with a smile across his face," Libs of TikTok commented on Sanchez's statements."Just Democrats supporting criminal alien gangs over American citizens."In 2023, Sanchez filed RI H5461, a bill to give illegal immigrants the right to vote in the state. However, the bill was tabled for further study a month after it was introduced.Fox News Digital's Peter D'Abrosca contributed to this report.

Followers feel abandoned as plus-size influencers embrace weight loss, blame Trump for cultural shift
Fans of overweight influencers are reportedly feeling "abandoned" as those they look up to are choosing to lose weight."I think the audiences that are feeling abandoned, in my opinion, largely the feedback is not, Im mad that youre skinny," Lydia Okello, a writer and model who was quoted in a recent Teen Vogue article entitled, "The Community Ozempic Stole: As Influencers Lose Weight, Their Followers Feel Abandoned.""The feedback is, why are you acting like the body that I have is not worthy any more," Okello added, who calls herself "fat enby fashion bud" on her X profile.KELLY OSBOURNE GOT MORE S--- FOR HER WEIGHT THAN BEING A DRUG ADDICT, ALCOHOLICSome even go so far as to blame PresidentDonald Trump and his administration for the changing landscape."Were in a time when we have an administration which is trying to control us in every sense,"said Wray Serna, founder of the clothing brand, WRAY, that calls itself an "inclusive, fine art inspired clothing line.""I think its a broad cultural message people are receiving that is about control, about conforming, about making yourself as perfect as possible,"Serna added. "I think its deeply rooted in patriarchy. I think its deeply rooted in racism."She said the industry has given her community."[Fashion] was such a disappointing industry until I opened up my sizing and discovered this whole other side of fashion that I didnt even know about," Serna said."That was one of the most surprising things that could have happened," she added. "It made me believe in fashion again, in humanity again. I found that community to be so welcoming and kind."SKINNYTOK WEIGHT-LOSS TREND COULD LEAD TO FOOD DEPRIVATION, EXPERTS CAUTIONSome celebrities who have recently made news with their weight-loss achievements include Lizzo, whorecently celebrated reachingher weight-loss goal, saying she hadnt seen that number on the scale since 2014.The singer had in the pastcriticized speculation that her weight loss was due to taking Ozempic.Others on weight-loss journeys include Kelly Clarkson, Kathy Bates, Eric Stonestreet, John Goodman and Adele.Okello said she thinks the fascination of some with losing weight is contradictory to the body-positivity message they have embraced."I dont believe its my right to tell someone [my opinion on] whether or not they want to lose weight," Okello told Teen Vogue. "But I have seen influencers who talked a lot about accepting their body where it was, or appreciating how they look regardless [of weight] really flipping the script and using the way they looked previously as a negative contrast to where they are now. That part is what I really disagree with."Emma Zack, founder & CEO of Berriez, a vintage and plus-sized clothing shop, also sees inconsistency in the trend toward weight loss."Its this weird dichotomy, when a plus size influencer who has made their entire business on being plus size gets thin, were not entitled to talk about their body changes," Zack told Teen Vogue. "They don't owe us this explanation. However theyve built their entire platform on body positivity. So when theyre getting thin and ignoring it, whats going on?"

Hawley urges DHS Secretary Noem to declassify all Trump Butler rally assassination attempt documents
Sen. Josh Hawley, R-Mo., is urging Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem to declassify all documents related to the assassination attempt on then-presidential candidate Donald Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 13, 2024.Hawleys request comes a year after 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks fired off several shots at Trump from a rooftop near the presidential rally grounds. The gunman had a clear shot and grazed the presidents ear.Even after a year, though, questions still remain about how Crooks was able to get a clear shot.In his letter to Noem, Hawley mentions the one-year anniversary of the first assassination attempt on Trump.RAND PAUL SAYS WE 'AREN'T GOING TO KNOW' THE MOTIVE OF TRUMP'S WOULD-BE ASSASSIN"This occasion marks a deeply troubling chapter in our nations history and serves as a reminder of the importance of transparency in preserving public trust during moments of national crisis," he wrote. "To that end, I urge you to take the necessary steps to declassify all documents within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) related to the events of July 13, 2024."As you know, assassination attempts against current and former presidents are rare but profoundly consequential events in American life," Hawley continued. "And the American people rightly expect full transparency from their government."The senator pointed to investigation stonewalling tactics from the Biden administrations Secret Service and DHS, which he said ultimately denied basic facts to the American people.COULD BUTLER HAPPEN AGAIN? FORMER SECRET SERVICE AGENTS WEIGH IN ON POLITICAL VIOLENCE IN 2025"The public learned far more from whistleblowers than they did from public officials, and I released a report documenting these disclosures, many of which have been corroborated to date," Hawley wrote. "In October of last year, in a unanimous vote, the Homeland Security Committee passed my legislation requiring the Secret Service release to the public all pertinent documents."Now, I am requesting that you immediately declassify and release all documents relating to the first assassination attempt on President Trump within the full extent of your authority, subject only to the narrowest possible redactions necessary to protect ongoing operations or individual safety," he said. "The public deserves a full and accurate account of this event, the circumstances that allowed it to happen, and the steps the government has taken since to strengthen protective measures."Hawley requested a complete inventory of all classified or non-public materials related to the first assassination attempt on Trump, including reports, internal communications, threat assessments, after-action reviews and coordinated records with other agencies.CRITICAL SECURITY LAPSES BY SECRET SERVICE EXPOSED IN NEW REPORT ON TRUMP ASSASSINATION ATTEMPTHe also requested a formal explanation for the continued classification of materials Noem believes must remain restricted, as well as a proposed plan and timeline for the immediate declassification and public release of all remaining documents, all by July 30, 2025.Fox News Digital has reached out to DHS for comment on the matter.Hawley released a report in September, detailing the failures of the Secret Service in connection with the attempted assassination of Trump in July, which included whistleblower allegations that are "highly damaging to the credibility" of the agency. The report uncovered a "compounding pattern of negligence, sloppiness, and gross incompetence that goes back years, all of which culminated in an assassination attempt that came inches from succeeding."ONE YEAR AFTER TRUMP RALLY SHOOTING, WITNESSES SAY INVESTIGATIONS LEAVE MORE QUESTIONS THAN ANSWERSHawley accused the Secret Service, FBI and DHS of all trying "to evade real accountability.""These agencies and their leaders have slow-walked congressional investigations, misled the American people, and shirked responsibility," the report states. After the first of two assassination attempts against Trump in just over two months, Hawley visited the Butler rally site to interview whistleblowers and opened up a whistleblower tip line, encouraging those with relevant information to share with officials.Documents subpoenaed by the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Government Affairs also show major failures among the six U.S. Secret Service (USSS) agents who were suspended without pay in response to the assassination attempt. The documents were based on interviews with the agents and their colleagues and revealed that several agents admitted the existence of major security concerns at the Butler rally, but none of them elevated the concerns or helped produce a plan to properly cover the roof that provided Crooks a clear shot of Trump.CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APPThe documents show that some agents in charge never even conducted walk-throughs of the site. For example, the lead advance agent, documents show, never did a final security walk-through of the rally site because she was in the hospital for heat exhaustion, the special agent in charge said when questioned. Some of the agents were suspended without pay for various terms, though none of the agents were fired.

Cal Raleigh victorious in 2025 Home Run Derby, becomes 1st catcher ever to win in thrilling fashion
Cal Raleigh, the Seattle Mariners slugger who is MLB's leader in home runs at the All-Star break, is the long ball king in Atlanta. And he made history in the process.Raleigh beat Tampa Bay Rays budding star Junior Caminero, 18-15, in the final round to win the 2025 Home Run Derby at Truist Park on Monday night to kick off All-Star festivities.CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COM"Big Dumper," as hes affectionately known, is the first catcher to ever win the event since it began four decades ago. Raleigh is also the second Mariners player to ever win, as Ken Griffey Jr., the Hall of Famer who was in the dugout watching, was the only one before this performance.Raleigh, who has belted 38 homers in what has become his breakout season for the Mariners, was all smiles as he and his father, who pitched to him throughout the contest, celebrated the victory. As victor, Raleigh also gets $1 million from MLB, while Caminero, who stood to be the youngest Derby champion of all time at 22 years old, gets $750,000 as runner-up.There was a moment in the final round, too, where it appeared there might have been some controversy, as one of the ball boys shagging the non-home run balls in the outfield seemingly robbed a Caminero home run.Caminero entered the bonus round needing five home runs to win, but he didn't get close as he hit too many in play for the Raleigh victory. But Raleigh almost didnt make it out of the first round, as he made it by literally an inch.Athletics right-handed hitter Brent Rooker and Raleigh both topped out in the first round at 471 feet with their longest home runs. Being that they each had 17 homers, it came down to the exact distance and Raleighs longest ball was calculated at 470.63 feet compared to Rookers 470.53-foot bomb.Other than these two brilliant performances, Pittsburgh Pirates slugger O'Neil Cruz had the most memorable home run of the night. The lefty, who has clocked exit velocities higher than 120 mph in his career, hit a ball 513 feet, putting all of his 6-foot-7 frame into it.Atlanta Braves star Matt Olsen was able to have a solid stretch toward the end of his first round, but he wasn't able to crack into the top four. Instead, the final spot went to Byron Buxton, who had a great bonus round to make it to the semifinals.Buxton, though, had just seven homers in the next round, leaving Caminero with just an eight-homer mark he had to reach. He did so with ease and had a good amount of rest while Raleigh and Cruz battled it out head-to-head.Washington Nationals young star James Wood had a respectable 16 homers in the first round, while New York Yankees infielder Jazz Chisholm Jr. couldn't find the right stroke with just three homers tallied.Follow Fox News Digitalssports coverage on X, and subscribe tothe Fox News Sports Huddle newsletter.
