UK to roll out red carpet in unprecedented second Trump visit hosted by King Charles
In an unprecedented announcement on Sunday, the British royal family said its September invitation to President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump has been accepted. The meeting will mark the first time a U.S. president has been invited to the United Kingdom for a second state visit a move that signifies the value London is placing on the U.S.-U.K. partnership amid escalated security concerns.British Prime Minister Keir Starmer will also meet with Trump in Scotland during his previously planned "private" visit to his Aberdeenshire-based golf resort later this month, reports first confirmed last week.TRUMP SAYS US WILL SEND PATRIOT MISSILES TO UKRAINE, ADDS THAT PUTIN 'TALKS NICE AND THEN HE BOMBS EVERYBODY'While the Trump-Starmer meeting is still significant, it is not an official state visit that is accompanied by ceremonial events, and King Charles III is not expected to meet with the president during the July meeting. It is not uncommon for U.S. presidents to make the trip to the U.K. multiple times throughout their presidency. Both of Trumps two-term predecessors, Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama, visited Britain multiple times, though both were issued just one state visit. The reason for the visit which will take place from Sept. 17-19 at Windsor Castle as Buckingham Palace continues to undergo massive renovations has not been explicitly revealed and could be because Trumps previous invitation was issued under the King Charles IIIs mother, Queen Elizabeth II, prior to his accession to the throne.TRUMP'S WHIRLWIND WEEK AHEAD TO INCLUDE 'MAJOR' ANNOUNCEMENT ON RUSSIA AND MORE TOP HEADLINESHowever, it also comes amid escalated security concerns as Russia continues to pummel Ukraine, and European nations remain steadfast in their concerns that Russian President Vladimir Putins war ambitions extend beyond Kyiv."The unprecedented nature of a second state visit for President Trump reflects the reality that global turbulence means it is natural for the U.K. to want to keep its friends close," Alan Mendoza, executive director of the Henry Jackson Society, an international affairs think tank based in London, told Fox News Digital. "In an ever-changing security environment, the one constant we know will act to underpin our way of life is the transatlantic alliance.""Extending this invitation therefore shows that the U.K. is serious about its own commitment to our enduring relationship, but also reminds the U.S. that we have always been an indispensable partner in its global leadership," he added.Since Trump re-entered office, the U.K. has worked to maintain its strong ties with Washington despite some geopolitically challenging moves by Trump that have strained other international relations.Fox News Digital could not immediately reach Buckingham Palace for comment.

Idaho four murder victim's sister reveals 'weird' three-word text message hours before stabbings
Idaho murder victim Ethan Chapin's sister shared the last text the University of Idaho freshman sent her just before he was killed in a home near campus on Nov. 13, 2022.Bryan Kohberger, 30, recently accepted a plea deal and confessed to killing Madison Mogen, 21, Kaylee Goncalves, 21, Xana Kernodle, 20, and Ethan Chapin, 20, in a 4 a.m. home invasion attack nearly two-and-a-half years ago.The night before the murders, Mazie Chapin the triplet sister of Ethan and Hunter Chapin had her sorority formal on Saturday evening and invited Ethan to be her date since she did not have one and his friends were going, Mazie says in a new Amazon Prime documentary series about the murders titled, "One Night in Idaho: The College Murders.""I dont usually invite anyone to formals, but some of Ethans friends were going, and he wasnt going," Maizie says in the docuseries. "So, I was like, OK, you can just be my date. It was super fun."READ BRYAN KOHBERGER'S SIGNED KILLER CONFESSIONThey left the formal around 9 p.m., and while some students went on to Ethan and Hunter's fraternity house, Mazie stayed behind."For some reason, I stayed and went to bed," she says in the docuseries. "Ethan kept texting me, Maizie, come hang out. I went to sleep, so I wasnt responding to any of them. Last one said, I love you, which was also weird because we dont say that to each other."IDAHO MURDERS TIMELINE: BRYAN KOHBERGER PLEA CAPS YEARSLONG QUEST FOR JUSTICEThe next morning, Ethan was found dead, along with Kernodle, his girlfriend; Goncalves; and Mogen. The four students had been stabbed to death in their rental home just steps from campus in the early morning hours of Nov. 13, a Sunday.Two-and-a-half years later, on July 1, Kohberger signed a confession as part of his plea deal to avoid the death penalty. He admitted to breaking into the off-campus house at 1122 King Road, in Moscow, Idaho, on Nov. 13, 2022, with the intent to commit murder. Then, with premeditation and malice aforethought, he stabbed Ethan Chapin, Kerndole, Mogen and Goncalves.BRYAN KOHBERGER EXPECTED TO OFFICIALLY PLEAD GUILTY: WHATS NEXTEthan's mother, Stacy Chapin, was in court on July 2, when Kohberger pleaded guilty to his crimes in person, a day after signing the confession."It was cold and calculated and weirdly, like an automated phone message," Stacy Chapin told "TODAY" of seeing Kohberger in court and hearing his plea. "I mean, it was just like you expected some, I don't know, remorse, emotion, something. And there was zero."FAMILY OF VICTIM IN BRYAN KOHBERGER CASE SAY THEY WERE SENT INTO 'PANIC MODE' AFTER PLEA DEALThe Goncalves family has been vocal in their disapproval of the plea deal, while the Chapin and Mogen families have supported the move. But despite their differing opinions, the families have expressed that Kohberger's deal with prosecutors caught them off guard."If I could physically do a handstand, I'd probably do one, because I am so ready," Jim Chapin, Ethan's father, told "TODAY." "I'm ready for my kids to move on. I'm ready for us to move on. I mean, it's been almost two-and-a-half years, and it's, just, it's over."Stacy Chapin said their first response in terms of the judicial process for Kohberger was "an eye for an eye," but after speaking with prosecutors, they agreed "this was a better deal.""He gets put away, and there's no appeal system to it," Stacy Chapin told the outlet. "And there were so many kids, including our own, that had been subpoenaed that no longer have this hanging over their heads."BRYAN KOHBERGER ACCEPTS PLEA DEAL IN IDAHO STUDENT MURDERS CASEKohbeger is expected to receive four consecutive terms of life in prison without parole, plus another 10 years. As part of the deal, he waived his right to appeal and the right to move for a future sentence reduction.Kohberger's trial would have begun in August.Fox News Digital's Michael Ruiz contributed to this report.

Malicious browser extensions caught spying on 2 million users
Every day, millions of people install tiny browser add-ons they believe will improve productivity or entertainment. With so many options available on the Chrome Web Store, users often rely on trust markers like install counts, user reviews and developer reputation to make their choice. Many glance at shiny verification badges and five-star ratings, assume the vetting process was solid, and click "Install" without thinking twice. But attackers have started to exploit these very signals. Researchers recently uncovered a campaign where 18 browser extensions, all listed on the official Chrome and Edge Web Stores, tracked users online activity. These extensions had already racked up more than 2 million installs.Sign up for my FREE CyberGuy ReportGet my best tech tips, urgent security alerts, and exclusive deals delivered straight to your inbox. Plus, youll get instant access to my Ultimate Scam Survival Guide - free when you join myCYBERGUY.COM/NEWSLETTERKoi Security researchers discovered that attackers used long-term, strategic tactics to weaponize browser extensions. First, they released functional and legitimate utilities to gain user trust. Over time, these extensions collected positive reviews and built a solid reputation. Then, after months or even years of quiet operation, the attackers pushed a silent update that injected malicious scripts into the trusted codebase.Since these updates came directly from official sources, they easily bypassed corporate firewalls. Unlike phishing emails or shady downloads, the malicious code arrived through routine, automatic updates and raised no immediate red flags. As the investigation progressed, researchers traced suspicious traffic back to a seemingly harmless color picker extension. This led them to a cluster of connected domains, each acting as a command and control hub. These servers recorded every URL users visited and issued commands to force redirects to fake websites or ad-heavy landing pages.Next, the team analyzed the extensions code more closely and uncovered matching fingerprints in several unrelated tools. These included weather widgets, emoji keyboards, video speed controllers and volume boosters. Although they appeared different on the surface, they shared underlying code and behavior.HOW 432 ROBOTS ARE RELOCATING A 7,500-TON HISTORIC BUILDINGTogether, these extensions reached over two million installations. To avoid detection, the attackers used separate branding and categories for each one, making it difficult for marketplace monitors to spot patterns. Even more concerning, many of the extensions carried a verified badge, which shows how attackers manipulated automated review systems using malicious version updates. The first priority for affected users is immediate removal of the listed extensions, followed by thorough cache clearing and full system scans. Check your computer to see if you have any of these malicious extensions, and if you do, get rid of them.If you have any of the extensions linked to the RedDirection campaign installed, take these steps right away to protect your data and devices:1) Check your accounts for unusual activity: If you accessed sensitive sites (like online banking) while the extension was active, review those accounts for suspicious behavior and change your passwords immediately.Consider using a password manager, which securely stores and generates complex passwords, reducing the risk of password reuse.WHAT IS ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (AI)?Check out the best expert-reviewed password managers of 2025 atCyberguy.com/Passwords2) Enable two-factor authentication (2FA): Add an extra layer of security to your accounts by turning on 2FA wherever its supported. It can prevent unauthorized access even if your password is compromised.3) Use strong antivirus software:Even though these malicious extensions come from official stores and update automatically, strong antivirus software can help detect suspicious activities such as hidden trackers, injected scripts or unauthorized redirects. Antivirus adds a crucial layer of protection by scanning for threats that browsers alone might miss, but it should be combined with safe browsing habits for best results.Get my picks for the best 2025 antivirus protection winners for your Windows, Mac, Android & iOS devices atCyberGuy.com/LockUpYourTech4) Reset your browser settings: Restoring your browser to its default state can reverse unwanted changes to your homepage, search engine or other settings.GET FOX BUSINESS ON THE GO BY CLICKING HERE5) Watch for security alerts:Keep an eye on your email and texts for login warnings or access alerts from services you use. These can help you spot unauthorized activity early.6) Use a browser with extension permission controls: Some browsers let you limit what data extensions can access (e.g., "only on click" or "only on specific sites"). This can reduce the risk of future attacks.Browser extensions can be helpful, but they also carry hidden risks. As this case shows, even trusted tools from official stores can turn malicious without warning. That is why it pays to stay alert, review your extensions regularly, and use strong antivirus protection. A few simple habits can go a long way in keeping your browser and your personal data safe.Do you rely on ratings and reviews when choosing extensions, or do you dig deeper? Preppy party murder suspect's lawyer says client's testimony key to acquittal
The attorney for the man who stood accused of murdering suburban Connecticut prep school lacrosse player James "Jimmy" McGrath in 2023 revealed the critical key to his client's acquittal.Raul Valle, 20, took the stand in his own defense, which attorney Kevin Smith said was necessary for proving his client's innocence."He was going to have to take the stand in a self-defense case when you are telling folks you felt a certain way, and you were in such danger," Smith told WFSB. "I can think of few instances where there would be enough other evidence to put it on and say you had a self-defense claim."PROSECUTION'S 'INCONSISTENCIES' IN PREP SCHOOL MURDER TRIAL LED TO SUSPECT'S ACQUITTAL: JURY FOREMAN"Nobody ever wants to have to take another life," Smith said. "Mr. Valle certainly never wanted to do that. I think the evidence is clear."Smith noted that, like Valle, he was relieved that the trial had finished. He said that he lost 15 pounds during the ordeal. The trial lasted eight days, and was followed by two-and-a-half days of jury deliberation. He told his client to keep a low profile after the acquittal."Ive told him to avoid public places where he may be subjected to some behavior he doesnt need, doesnt need people harassing him, keeping a low profile, which he did during the trial," he stated.SLAIN PREP SCHOOL LACROSSE PLAYER'S FATHER 'ASTONISHED' AFTER MURDER SUSPECT ACQUITTED IN STABBING CASEOn Wednesday, Valle was found not guilty of first-degree murder in the stabbing death of McGrath, which stemmed from a booze-fueled party in May 2022 where a brawl broke out between 25 students on the lawn of a suburban Connecticut home.He was also cleared on charges of intentional manslaughter and intentional assault. The jury deadlocked on reckless manslaughter and reckless assault charges, and a partial mistrial was declared. Valle could be retried on those charges.Valle was 16 at the time of the stabbing, and McGrath was 17.Jury foreman Jim Stuhlman said ultimately, prosecutors didn not provide enough evidence to prove their case.He said the jury spent very little time deliberating on whether Valle had acted in self-defense because the jury believed that the state had failed to prove that he intended to kill McGrath."There was so much inconsistencies and contradictions," he continued. "Not everyone will be happy with the conclusion, we werent happy we couldnt find an agreement on the final counts, but we did everything we could have to get as far as we did."

Iranian crowdfunding campaign claims to raise $40M as reward for assassinating Trump
An Iranian movement called the "Blood Covenant" is claiming to have crowdfunded more than $40 million as a reward for assassinating President Donald Trump, according to the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI).A website for the movement contained a poster of Trump in crosshairs with an appeal to donate "in order to help establish stable peace," the nonprofit reported. It added that the poster quotes a verse from the Quran that reads, "Strive with your wealth and your lives in the cause of Allah.""This is a call to jihad, inviting believers to donate their money and sacrifice their lives," MEMRI said. "The poster lends religious legitimacy to assassinating Trump."The apparent threat comes weeks after the U.S. launched devastating airstrikes on Irans nuclear facilities.TRUMP TARGETED BY IRANIAN DEATH FATWAS AS WATCHDOG GROUP DEMANDS IMMEDIATE SANCTIONS RESPONSE"In Iran in recent days there has been an increase in explicit calls for assassinating Trump, from the Iranian regime's religious establishment, due allegedly to a threat by Trump to assassinate Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei even though Trump said he had actually prevented such a move," MEMRI said. "These calls are backed by fatwas issued in late June by Iranian grand ayatollahs. The fatwas stated that the punishment for Trump is the same as for a muhareb that is, an enemy of Allah and Islam and that is death, and the permitting of his blood.""Iranian regime officials, among them Assembly of Expert members who are close to Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, senior clerics and lecturers at the Howza-e Ilmiyya seminaries, and the regime's Friday preachers, are explicitly calling for Trump's assassination," MEMRI added."The fact that these calls to assassinate Trump are coming from above and being echoed in the street and through all strata of society, including in the Iranian media, underlines the depth and uniformity of the regime's institutional incitement," it also said. "It reflects a broad religious and regime consensus strengthened by reiterated emphasis of the reward anyone carrying out the punishment against Trump can expect to receive in addition to the $40.3 million, also Paradise and the status of a defender of Islam."IRAN CLAIMS ITS PRESIDENT WAS INJURED IN ISRAELI AIRSTRIKE LAST MONTHThe Foundation for Defense of Democracies alleged that an Iranian national and former employee for the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting which it described as "the regimes main propaganda network" is behind the creation of the "Blood Covenant" website. The State Department did not immediately respond Monday to a request for comment from Fox News Digital.A senior State Department official said the Trump administration is aware of the threats against the president, according to the Washington Free Beacon.

Ellen DeGeneres backs Rosie O'Donnell after Trump threatened to revoke her U.S. citizenship
Ellen DeGeneres is showing support for Rosie O'Donnell. One day after President Donald Trump threatened to revoke O'Donnell's U.S. citizenship following her move to Ireland earlier this year, DeGeneres - who also reportedly fled the country after Trump was elected president - gave her fellow comedian a public shout out."Good for you," DeGeneres, 67, who reposted Trump's threat and O'Donnell's lengthy response on Instagram.TRUMP THREATENS TO STRIP ROSIE O'DONNELL'S U.S. CITIZENSHIP AS HE SAYS SHE'S A 'THREAT TO HUMANITY'APP USERS CLICK HERE TO VIEW POSTOn Saturday, Trump referred to O'Donnell as a "threat to humanity.""Because of the fact that Rosie ODonnell is not in the best interests of our Great Country, I am giving serious consideration to taking away her Citizenship," Trump wrote in a post to his social media platform Truth Social. "She is a Threat to Humanity, and should remain in the wonderful Country of Ireland, if they want her. GOD BLESS AMERICA!" he added.O'Donnell quickly responded to Trump's jab in several posts that she shared on her social media pages. The "A League of Their Own" star posted a collage of photos centered around a screenshot of Trump's post on Instagram and blasted the politician in the caption.ROSIE O'DONNELL FLEES US AFTER TRUMP WIN, WONT RETURN UNTIL IT'S SAFE FOR ALL CITIZENS TO HAVE EQUAL RIGHTS"The president of the USA has always hated the fact that i see him for who he is - a criminal con man sexual abusing liar out to harm our nation to serve himself," she wrote. "This is why i moved to Ireland - he is a dangerous old soulless man with dementia who lacks empathy compassion and basic humanity.""I stand in direct opposition [to] all he represents- so do millions of others - u gonna deport all who stand against ur evil tendencies - ur a bad joke who cant form a coherent sentence," O'Donnell added along with the hashtag "never trump."The former talk show host later shared a screenshot of her Instagram post on TikTok, where she slammed Trump in the caption, writing that he was a "disgrace to all our beautiful country stands for" and a "danger to our nation."LIKE WHAT YOURE READING? CLICK HERE FOR MORE ENTERTAINMENT NEWSO'Donnell went on to bash Trump as a "mentally ill untreated criminal," claiming that he "lied to America for a decade" during his time hosting the hit reality TV series "The Apprentice.""Had u grown up in NY - as I did - u would know what a total fool he is. Add me to the list of people who oppose him at every turn -its now or never America," she wrote.Representatives for the White House, DeGeneres and O'Donnell did not respond to Fox News Digital's immediate request for comment.Despite Trump's post, O'Donnell's citizenship is unlikely to be in jeopardy. The 14th Amendment guarantees citizenship to any person born in the United States and the actress was born in Commack, New York. In addition, many legal experts agree that the government cannot unilaterally revoke the citizenship of a natural-born citizen. One exception is if the government was able to prove that citizenship was obtained through fraud in the case of naturalization. In addition, citizenship can be revoked if an individual commits certain actions, including treason, serving in a foreign military engaged in hostilities against the U.S., or renouncing citizenship.O'Donnell confirmed her move to Ireland in March, saying she left the U.S. days before Trump's inauguration, and explained the new location would be a good fit for her 12-year-old son, Clay.DeGeneres, much like O'Donnell, left the country recently to establish a new life with wife Portia de Rossi across the pond.CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR THE ENTERTAINMENT NEWSLETTERIn April, O'Donnell admitted that while she hasn't been in touch with DeGeneres lately, she was "shocked" to hear why the former talk show host fled the United States."Ive never really known Ellen to say anything political in her life, so I was surprised to read that she left because of President Trump. Like, that shocked me, actually," ODonnell told Us Weekly. "Ive been a political person my whole life, not better or worse, its just a different way to be in the world.""I was very clear about the reason why I was leaving, and I dont think it came as a surprise to anyone. Were not really in each others worlds, and its been kind of awkward but you know what? I wish her the best. I wish that she has peace and love in her life and that she is OK."While they've never had a strong relationship, O'Donnell insisted she harbors no ill will for the comedian.ROSIE O'DONNELL CAN'T STOP TALKING ABOUT MAGA DESPITE FLEEING TO IRELAND"I dont want to fight against another gay woman. Its not like were tenaciously opposed to each other," O'Donnell told the outlet. "Were just very different people. We have had some stuff in the past that we never resolved. And not in any way as, as partners or lovers or anything like that, just as friends and comedians, but I wish her the best. I seriously do."She added, "I think that theres enough room in the world for all of the gay comedians, and we all need to stick together because gay people are the next group to be threatened. And the way they attack trans people is absolutely terrifying."Fox News Digital's Tracy Wright and Ashley Hume contributed to this report.
