Noem warns of unprecedented threat level for ICE agents, blames 'lies' from Democrats
Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem is sounding the alarm over what she describes as an intense rise in violence targeting immigration officers. She explained the threats against ICE agents were "getting worse" and blamed inflammatory rhetoric from the left."Some of these Democrat leaders in some of these communities and states are really, really elevating the emotion out there and lying, and putting these officers' lives in jeopardy," Noem said on "Fox & Friends," Thursday."They are just upholding the rule of law. It really is unprecedented, this environment that we're in."DHS REVEALS SHOCKING 500% INCREASE IN ASSAULTS AGAINST ICE OFFICERS DURING OPERATIONSHer remarks come after an attack on officers in Alvarado, Texas last Independence Day. A group of heavily armed individuals used fireworks and graffiti to lure ICE agents into a parking lot near a migrant facility. Phrases like "traitor" and "ICE pig" were spray-painted onto their personal vehicles. While officers responded, shots were fired from nearby, striking one local police officer in the neck, who is expected to survive. DHS FIRES BACK AT DEMOCRATS FOR 'BEYOND THE PALE' RHETORIC AS ICE AGENTS FACE WAVE OF VIOLENT THREATSNoem said attacks like this are part of a troubling pattern. The Department of Homeland Security told Fox News theyve seen assaults against ICE officers rise nearly 700% since the same time last year, something Noem called "unprecedented.""These targeted attacks against these law enforcement officers is a disrespect and a dangerous situation that we're in," she said.Tensions regarding immigration enforcement have escalated, with anti-ICE riots breaking out in Los Angeles last month. Many city and state leaders have pushed back against the Trump administrations deportation agenda, refusing to cooperate with immigration authorities. Critics argue the raids are politically motivated and destabilize communities.Noem said that rhetoric by politicians has had real-world consequences for her officers."I think about it every day, every word that comes out of my mouth. I think, how can I protect these officers so they can do their jobs?" said Noem. "Its a heavy weight that sits on you every single day."She also addressed a website that works to expose the identities of ICE agents, who typically cover their faces to protect themselves and their families from retribution. According to Noem, the website has led to direct threats against agents and their loved ones."Theyre talking about kidnapping their families. Theyre going after their colleagues," she said. "Its extremely dangerous, and the rhetoric has to stop."NOEM DISMISSES JEFFRIES' WARNINGS AS DHS CONSIDERS ARRESTS OF DEMOCRATIC LAWMAKERS AFTER ICE FACILITY CLASHNoem defended ICEs broader mission and said attacks against officers wont deter their work. She pointed to the agencys role in tracking down thousands of missing migrant children who entered through the Biden-era sponsorship program. Many, she said, were exploited by abusers."These ICE officers are patriots," she said. "Theyre going out every day and making our streets safer."The DHS secretary urged Americans to support ICE agents during the period of unrest."If you know a law enforcement officer, go today and thank them," Noem said. "Cook their family a meal, go support them, and go talk about it on social media or go have their backs."CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APP

Mamdani lands endorsement of a top Cuomo backer in NYC mayoral primary
Democratic socialist Zohran Mamdani, the frontrunner in the race for mayor of America's most populous city, on Thursday landed the endorsement of one of New York City's most influential politicians.Democratic Rep. Adriano Espaillat, arguably the city's most powerful Latino leader, is backing Mamdani, who, if elected in November, would become New York City's first Muslim mayor."Thank you @EspaillatNY for joining this campaign for an affordable NYC and for fighting Trump's authoritarianism in DC," Mamdani wrote in a social media post. "Adriano and I know that the only way we can protect this city is by standing firm in our values and standing up for working class and immigrant New Yorkers."MAMDANI'S FAR-LEFT ALLIES MULL PRIMARY CHALLENGES AGAINST TOP NYC HOUSE DEMOCRATSMamdani and Espaillat are scheduled to team up at a campaign event on Thursday afternoon to formally announce the five-term congressman's endorsement of the 33-year-old Ugandan-born state assemblyman from Queens.MAMDANI POLITICAL TSUNAMI SWAMPS DEMOCRATS AS PARTY SEARCHES FOR PATH FORWARDEspaillat's endorsement of Mamdani, who two weeks ago convincingly defeated former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo and nine other candidates to win the Democratic Party mayoral nomination, is seen as a setback for Cuomo.Cuomo, who resigned from office in 2021 during his third term as governor amid multiple scandals and who was aiming for a political comeback, was endorsed in the Democratic primary by Espaillat. And the two politicians teamed up at a rally on the eve of the kickoff of early voting in the primary election. While Cuomo lost the Democratic mayoral nomination to Mamdani, he's running, as of now, on the November ballot as an independent, which state rules allow.Democratic Mayor Eric Adams, who dropped his primary bid earlier this year amid sinking poll numbers in the wake of numerous controversies, is seeking re-election as an independent.THE PLOT TO STOP MAMDANI: DEMOCRATS SCRAMBLE TO PREVENT FAR-LEFT TAKEOVER IN NYCAlso on the ballot in the general election are Jim Walden, a former federal prosecutor running as an independent, and Guardian Angels co-founder Curtis Sliwa, who, for a second straight election, is the Republican mayoral nominee.Espaillat, the chair of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, has been a vocal critic of President Donald Trump's sweeping and controversial second-term immigration crackdown. And Espaillat, who backed Adams in the mayor's 2021 election, was thought to have grown frustrated with the mayor's working relationship with Trump on immigration enforcement.Adams' poll numbers were sinking even before he was indicted last year on five counts, which accused the mayor of bribery and fraud as part of an alleged "long-running" scheme to personally profit from contacts with foreign officials. The mayor made repeated overtures to Trump and the Justice Department earlier this year dismissed the corruption charges, so Adams could potentially work with the Trump administration on its illegal immigration crackdown.RESURFACED MAMDANI PHOTO SPARKS SOCIAL MEDIA FIRESTORMNews of Espaillat's endorsement of Mamdani was first reported by The New York Times.Mamdani surged to a primary victory thanks to an energetic campaign that put a major focus on affordability and New York City's high cost of living.Mamdani made smart use of social media platforms, including TikTok, as he engaged low-propensity voters. He proposed eliminating fares to ride New York City's vast bus system, making CUNY (City University of New York) "tuition-free," freezing rents on municipal housing, offering "free childcare" for children up to age 5, and setting up government-run grocery stores. And thanks in part to the efforts of a massive grassroots army of volunteers, he rode a wave of support from younger and progressive voters to catapult into first place.Since his primary victory, Republicans have relentlessly painted Mamdani as an extremist and anchored him to Democrats across the country ahead of next year's midterm elections. The attacks stretched from down ballot on the campaign trail all the way up to the White House, with Trump claiming that Mamdani was "a 100% Communist Lunatic."

Sweeping bipartisan bill would nationalize standards for student athlete pay
FIRST ON FOX: The House of Representatives is rolling out bipartisan legislation later on Thursday that will mark a major shift in the world of college sports, particularly the compensation of student athletes, Fox News Digital has learned. The bill would codify the right for student athletes to get paid for the use of their name, image and likeness (NIL), while mandating that colleges and universities also provide them with "comprehensive" academic, career counseling, and medical support, according to text obtained by Fox News Digital.NIL regulations would be standardized across the country, overriding the current patchwork of state laws. More than 30 states allow colleges to pay student athletes for NIL, while no such regulations exist in others.Student athletes would be able to hire agents and would have to disclose their NIL deals to their schools and to nonprofit Interstate Intercollegiate Athletic Associations (IIAA), like the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and similar groups.TAX CUTS, WORK REQUIREMENTS AND ASYLUM FEES: HERE'S WHAT'S INSIDE TRUMP'S BIG, BEAUTIFUL BILLFor non-athlete students at colleges and universities that bring in high revenue from sports media, it would shield them from footing the bill for their college's athletics programs by prohibiting student fees at those schools from being used for them. The bill also expressly prohibits student athletes from being considered employees of a college over their sporting participation. It's a bipartisan bill that's the product of the House Energy & Commerce Committee, House Education & Workforce Committee, and the House Judiciary Committee. Its lead co-sponsors are Reps. Janelle Bynum, D-Ore., and Gus Bilirakis, R-Fla.Committee Chairmen Brett Guthrie, R-Ky., Tim Walberg, R-Mich., and Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, told Fox News Digital in a joint statement, "NIL offers an endless array of opportunities for student-athletes to make the most of their college experience, but the lack of clear guardrails has left athletes and universities on unstable ground.""The SCORE Act creates a national framework that supports student-athletes and recenters the educational mission of college athletics," they said.Jordan, notably, was a two-time NCAA Division I college wrestling champion. He later became a coach with Ohio State University's wrestling program before being elected to Congress.SIMONE BILES SPARS WITH RILEY GAINES OVER TRANS ATHLETE DEBATE, LAUNCHES PERSONAL ATTACK: 'TRULY SICK'Whether student athletes should receive a portion of their school's sports media revenue and how much has been a years-long debate. There have been several attempts in Congress to push for legislation giving student athletes the ability to profit off of their college sporting careers. The NCAA, college sports' main governing body, changed its rules in 2021 to allow student athletes to profit from NIL.It comes after reports that such legislation could be introduced this week after a June antitrust settlement in House v. NCAA between the NCAA and lawyers for Division I college athletes. A judge approved over $2.7 billion in back pay for college athletes shut out of NIL deals between 2016 and 2024, paving the way for colleges to pay players directly.Under the bill's parameters, IIAAs would ensure NIL deals aligned with fair market value, while being able to limit student athletes' eligibility based on the length of their college sports career and create new requirements for agents not registered with the IIAA.The text also includes a liability shield for universities and IIAA that "the adoption of, agreement to, compliance with, or enforcement of any rule, regulation, requirement, standard, or other provision established pursuant to, or in compliance with, this Act shall be treated as lawful under the antitrust laws" and any state or local laws.148 DEMOCRATS BACK NONCITIZEN VOTING IN DC AS GOP RAISES ALARM ABOUT FOREIGN AGENTSThe bill was lauded by Reps. Gus Bilirakis, R-Fla., Scott Fitzgerald, R-Wis., and House GOP Conference Chairwoman Lisa McClain, R-Mich., all who played key roles in putting the legislation together. It was also praised by the NCAA's Autonomy Conferences the ACC, Big Ten, Big 12, Pac-12, and SEC."This legislation comes at a time of historic transition for college athletics. In the absence of federal standards, student-athletes and schools have been forced to navigate a fractured regulatory framework for too long," a statement to Fox News Digital said."Following the historic House settlement, this bill represents a very encouraging step toward delivering the national clarity and accountability that college athletics desperately needs. We urge lawmakers to build on this momentum and deliver the national solution that athletes, coaches, and schools deserve."

Carville pans Democrats for continuing to alienate men with 'future is female' talk
Veteran Democratic strategist James Carville scolded Democrats and liberals for lecturing men about their lifestyle choices and using rhetoric like "the future is female."Carville has frequently called out the Democratic Party for its use of identity politics, warning that it has damaged the brand like a foul odor clinging to a shirt. On Tuesday, he was asked by "The Peoples Cabinet" podcast host Daniel Koh whether the Democratic Party has a problem communicating with young men."They do," Carville replied, suggesting that one can just listen to NPR for a few minutes, multiple times a day, to hear the kind of rhetoric that has alienated men.CARVILLE SAYS DEMS 'BETRAYED' WORKING-CLASS VOTERS BY NOT INCLUDING THEM IN 'TOO-COOL-FOR-SCHOOL' COALITION"They were told, The future is female, you must always believe the woman is never wrong, #MeToo,'" Carville said. "And men are like, S---, do I count? What about my life? I mean, we're only 48% of the voting population."He then called out the language he has heard from his fellow Democrats about elections."Every time you would see an election, 'It's all coming down to suburban women,'" he said, lamenting rhetoric about an "uprising" and "women-of-color."The "Ragin Cajun" then offered a hypothetical about the male, working-class experience."You go home, you want a cold beer, you want a hamburger, and you want to watch the football game," Carville said."No, no!" he added, mocking Democratic rhetoric. "You can't do that! Not football. No. No. Hamburgers? How many calories does that have? Do you know what that does to you? Beer? No. You should be drinking a nice fruit spritzer or something.""And Im like, Oh, get off of my back! Right?" Carville said. "And then, 'If you have sex, you must wear a condom!"CLICK HERE FOR MORE COVERAGE OF MEDIA AND CULTURE"I mean, we just never communicated with them," he said, lamenting that the alienation of men could be fixed by "just talking like people."While Carville acknowledged there are demographic shifts in the country, he warned that some members of society are being ignored."There are no television shows about these people anymore. Theyve been erased from the culture. Weve just erased them," he said of American men who feel ignored by the modern Democratic Party. "'You dont exist, no one sees you, no one cares about you, youve had it made all your life.' And a lot of these people say, I got it made? What are you talking about?"CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APP"We just lecture people too much," Carville argued, adding the same alienated men have suffered stagnating wages and loss of status.

Fake agent phone scams are spreading fast across the US
A disturbing wave of fake agent phone scams is sweeping across the United States, catching people off guard and draining their savings. These criminals do not just pretend to be someone you trust; they impersonate federal agents, threaten arrest, and demand payment on the spot. As the schemes become more sophisticated, the FBI and other law enforcement agencies are issuing urgent warnings. Moreover, the scams are spreading rapidly and becoming increasingly difficult to spot.Sign up for my FREE CyberGuy ReportGet my best tech tips, urgent security alerts, and exclusive deals delivered straight to your inbox. The number might display familiar initials, such as "FBI," "US Marshals," or even your local police department. Scammers use spoofing technology to fake caller IDs, making the call look official. During the call, the scammer creates panic with claims like:To avoid immediate legal trouble, victims are often instructed to pay immediately, usually through prepaid gift cards, cryptocurrency ATMs, or wire transfers. These demands are designed to be untraceable and irreversible. Importantly, the US Marshals will NEVER call you to collect money, the agency emphasized in a public warning.Reports of these calls have come in from New York, Illinois, Virginia, and nearly every other state. Some victims have lost thousands of dollars. In Michigan, scammers increased their credibility by using the real names and ranks of local officers. Meanwhile, in Maryland, suspects posing as FTC agents even showed up in person twice to collect cash. This scam is not limited to phone calls. Text messages, known as "smishing" attacks, are also on the rise. One version targeted iPhone users with fake DMV payment demands. According to cybersecurity firm Guardio, smishing surged 773% in just one month. Why fake agent phone scams succeed and how they manipulate trustFraudsters know how to exploit fear effectively. They count on the fact that most people will do almost anything to avoid arrest or protect a family member. By spoofing official numbers, they undermine our first line of defense: trust. However, it is not just about technology. Experts also warn of an emotional manipulation crisis. These scammers don't just steal your money, they steal your identity too. As a result, victims feel violated, scared, and uncertain about whom to trust.Concerns are growing about how far these scams could go. Law enforcement and cybersecurity experts warn that scammers may soon use:While there's no direct evidence of those advanced tactics yet, experts agree they're coming, and fast. These scams are designed to trigger panic and override your judgment. But a few simple actions can protect you and your loved ones from falling victim. Stay sharp, stay skeptical, and follow these smart steps:If someone calls claiming to be from a government agency and demands money, don't explain or ask questions; just hang up. Real law enforcement will never ask for payment over the phone, and they won't threaten you into silence. No legitimate government agency will ever ask you to settle a legal issue with a prepaid gift card or a trip to a Bitcoin ATM. These are hallmark signs of a scam, designed to move your money fast and leave no trace. The number on your screen might look official, but spoofing technology can fake any number, even 911 or the FBI. If the caller creates pressure or fear, hang up and verify using an official number from the agency's website.Even if you don't fall for the scam, reporting it can help authorities track these operations. Contact your local FBI field office, your state's Attorney General, or file a report at reportfraud.ftc.gov. Every report helps build a stronger case.Scammers often target people who are more likely to believe a false threat, especially seniors or non-native English speakers. Have a conversation with family and friends so they know what to look out for and what to do if they receive a suspicious call or message. Many scammers do their homework before making contact.
