WWW.FOXNEWS.COMExpert warns Idaho murderer's plea deal strategy is a dangerous calculated 'long game'The Menendez brothers, who gunned down their parents from behind in their Beverly Hills mansion in 1989, were sentenced to life without parole years later. They were never supposed to see the light of day again. But under new California law and in an increasingly left-wing state that changed. A judge reduced their sentences and made them immediately eligible for parole after a controversial hearing this year, kickstarted by a prosecutor who failed his re-election bid largely because critics viewed him as too soft on crime. For one former investigator, thats a bad omen for the victims of Bryan Kohberger, a criminology Ph.D. student who killed four University of Idaho undergrads in a home invasion stabbing spree.BRYAN KOHBERGER PLEADS GUILTY TO IDAHO MURDERS"He's playing the long game in this plea deal," said Dr. Kris Mohandie, a forensic psychologist whose past work includes cases involving O.J. Simpson and the North Hollywood bank robbery shootout. "If you take death off the table, he's virtually got no skin in this game, meaning there's no downside for him."Kohberger agreed to a plea deal last week. He admitted to stabbing each student multiple times in a premeditated attack but did not explain himself. It saves taxpayer money and required Kohberger to forfeit his right to appeal his conviction and to move for a future sentence reduction. The end result could be a substantially stricter outcome than what a trial could have delivered.PLEA CAPS YEARSLONG QUEST FOR JUSTICENot only are juries unpredictable Kohberger would likely have spent decades appealing a conviction and death sentence but Idaho also falls under the federal government's historically liberal Court of Appeals, the Ninth Circuit. While the parents of victims Ethan Chapin, 20, and Madison Mogen, 21, have publicly supported the plea deal, Kaylee Goncalvess family called the potential death penalty "merely an illusion" in a scathing statement voicing their opposition to any leniency or deal for Kohberger. The 20-year-old Xana Kernodle's family did not respond to messages seeking comment.Giving up his right to an appeal could also wind up being an illusion, years down the road, Mohandie warned.SIGN UP TO GET THE TRUE CRIME NEWSLETTER"Look at all these high-profile cases that we've seen come up lately, after many years," he told Fox News Digital. "The long game is, we're not going to be able to appeal this case but the truth is, there's always some reason to find down the road when laws change, case law changes, etc."Kohberger and his lawyers all know that, he said.He pointed to the Menendez brothers, the Manson family and Scott Peterson."Convicted, sentenced to death, some of them, commuted, then they're up begging for parole," he said.GET REAL-TIME UPDATES AT THE FOX NEWS TRUE CRIME HUBVictims get old and die. Public tempers cool off. For the Menendez brothers, the victims relatives are also their own relatives.Only one uncle, Milton Andersen, remained publicly opposed to their release. He died just days before the judge reduced their sentences, at the age of 90.Kohberger, who pleaded guilty last week, is due in front of Judge Steven Hippler later this month for formal sentencing. On Nov. 13, 2022, the four victims were stabbed to death in a 4 a.m. massacre in an off-campus house in Moscow, Idaho. All but Kernodle may have been asleep at the start of the attack.FOLLOW THE FOX TRUE CRIME TEAM ON XThere is no known motive and rampant speculation about what happened. More than six weeks later, police announced the arrest of Kohberger at his parents home in Pennsylvanias Pocono Mountains. He was 28 at the time and a student at Washington State University, 10 miles from the crime scene, where he was studying for a Ph.D. in criminology. At the bloody crime scene, police found one key piece of evidence a forgotten knife sheath with Kohberger's DNA on the snap. While his background raised questions and red flags, the deal is not expected to provide any answers."I think it's a big mistake not to insist that he come clean with what he did, because then, down the road, he could always say, I never admitted anything. It was just circumstantial. I was forced to do this," Mohandie said.Prosecutors could have demanded answers as part of the deal, but it's unclear whether Kohberger rejected an explanation or one hadn't been part of the negotiations. In response to left-wing sentencing reduction laws, other states have moved in the opposite direction. Tennessee passed a "truth in sentencing" law in 2022 to ensure that suspects face the penalties that state law prescribes for violent crimes and so victims can find justice and peace without the threat of a surprise reversal down the road."Time will only be on his side," Mohandie said of Kohberger, who is expected to serve four consecutive life sentences, plus another 10 years. But prison carries other risks.0 Comments 0 Shares 27 Views 0 Reviews

WWW.FOXNEWS.COMNew book exposes Jill Biden's power grab amid husband's political demiseFirst lady Jill Biden's political rise coincided with the end of her husband's political career, according to a new book about how President Joe Biden lost the White House. One year after Biden's consequential debate performance, the first octogenarian president's age has inspired congressional investigations and books detailing his alleged cognitive decline."2024: How Trump Retook the White House and the Democrats Lost America," is the latest to tackle the inner workings of the Biden administration. The book, released Tuesday by journalists Josh Dawsey of The Wall Street Journal, Tyler Pager of The New York Times and Isaac Arnsdor of The Washington Post, details the influential role Jill Biden played in her husband's administration.'MASSIVE CONSPIRACY': EX-DNC INSIDER SAYS PARTY WENT TO GREAT LENGTHS TO HIDE BIDEN'S MENTAL DECLINEAs Jill Biden gained political influence, so did Anthony Bernal, the first lady's chief of staff and senior advisor and an assistant to the president.INSIDE JILL BIDEN'S POLITICAL RISE AMID HER HUSBAND'S COGNITIVE DECLINE: BOOKHe was subpoenaed to testify on July 16 after refusing to appear before the committee investigating the alleged cover-up of Biden's mental decline, which argued that executive privilege did not apply to him.According to the book, Bernal accused Anita Dunn, a veteran Democratic political strategist who served in the Biden and Obama administrations, of being disloyal for pushing for more transparency about the Biden family. There was a "near-total ban" on discussing Hunter Biden, the journalists wrote in their new book, as Hunter's federal trial fell in the middle of his father's re-election campaign in June 2024.Jill Biden, with Bernal by her side, went to great lengths to attend Hunter Biden's federal trial, often traveling long distances from overseas trips or campaign events. She attended the first three days of the trial, flew to France to join the president at the D-Day commemoration and then returned to Wilmington less than 24 hours later for the fifth day of the trial. As described in "2024," West Wing staffers were surprised when Jill Biden arrived at the trial. Most senior aides had no idea the first lady planned to attend, revealing her willingness to act independently. But while Jill Biden demonstrated her independence from the White House, Bernal was right there with her leading the East Wing."He quickly bonded with Jill Biden and never left her side, becoming unflinchingly loyal to her and using his proximity to her to exert power wherever he decided. It was often unclear if the opinion he was expressing was his own or the first ladys. Sometimes, when donors or voters asked her questions, Bernal would jump in to answer," the authors said.Just as Jill jumped to Hunter's defense during his high-profile trial, she became the president's staunchest supporter following his disastrous debate performance against President Donald Trump."Joe isnt just the right person for the job," the first lady said at a fundraiser soon after the debate. "Hes the only person for the job."The book alleges that Jill Biden had always played the "role of the protective spouse, encouraging the president to eat vegetables, keeping him on time, and questioning staffers when she felt they erred."In one such case in January 2022, a Biden aide apologized to the first lady when she questioned why they allowed a press conference to go on for too long, according to the book.As Biden struggled to successfully defend his debate performance, with donors and Democratic politicians growing weary, and "her husband in the fight of his political life, Jill was making clear: The Democratic Party had to stick with Joe," the authors said. After the debate, the Bidens took a pre-planned family trip to Camp David."The president was not entertaining the idea of dropping out of the race; he was taking stock of how bad things really were," the authors said of Biden's trip to Camp David. The authors described how dropping out "was not even a consideration" at Camp David, and how the first lady was part of those in the inner family circle who persuaded Biden to stay in the race, despite mounting pressure from party leaders and donors to step down.Biden huddled with his family in Camp David during the last few days of June, then appeared for debate damage-control interviews on network TV in the weeks following, referring to the debate as a bad night and blaming a cold for his off-night."Biden also acknowledged he needed more sleep and said he told his staff that he should not participate in events that start after 8 p.m. But his message was clear: He was staying in the race," the authors said.CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APPLess than a month after the debate, and one week after an assassination attempt on Trump, Biden announced he was suspending his re-election campaign, and later endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris as the Democratic nominee.Fox News Digital has written extensively dating back to the 2020 presidential campaign about Biden's cognitive decline and his inner circles alleged role in covering it up.A Biden spokesperson did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital's request for comment.0 Comments 0 Shares 25 Views 0 Reviews

WWW.FOXNEWS.COMRace-obsessed leadership in America's third-largest city is destroying children's futuresThe one thing I have learned over and over as a pastor on the South Side of Chicago is that when you challenge a child, he or she often thrives. They may stumble or misstep here and there and sometimes it takes a day or even several months, but when they "get it" the smiles on their faces tell you everything. There is nothing more amazing than a child discovering that he or she is more powerful or smarter than they originally believed. And for the rest of their lives, they carry within themselves the knowledge that they are stronger than their fears. That is why I believe the gift of merit is the greatest gift a child can receive. It saddens me that the leaders of Chicago and elsewhere do not believe in this simple lesson. They believe more in race than merit.I remember decades ago when the elites, intellectuals, academics, and politicians lectured us that if we had a Black mayor and Blacks in power in key parts of the city and Black teachers teaching Black kids, then Blacks would begin to thrive. They told us that it was white supremacy and Whites who didnt understand Blacks that were holding us back. But by magically making everything Black, there would be no more inner cities, ghettos, poverty, or gang violence. We Blacks would thrive because those Blacks in power understood us, they got us.FROM A CHICAGO ROOFTOP TO 3,000-MILE JOURNEY, HERE'S HOW I'M FIGHTING TO RESTORE AMERICA'S SOULI never believed that fairy tale for one moment.Merit doesnt believe in race. Merit does not belong to those who use race as power. Merit belongs to only those who earn it.But, sadly, far too many of us believe in the fantasy of race and we now have a Black mayor in Chicago who boasts that he has the blackest administration. We also have a Black head of the teachers union who hold so much power and sway over our childrens educations.Youd think these Black elites who profess to care so much about Black children would do something about the failing schools and crime that kills far too many kids. Yet they could care less. I judge people by their actions and there has been nothing of significance and that is why I have no qualms about saying they could not care less. What a sorry fate to be born into on the South Side where there is so much governmental failure.A BOLD MOVE TO RESCUE CHICAGO'S YOUTH FROM LEFTIST DEPENDENCYWhat these Black elites do care about is their own power, their status. Most of all, they care about creating the bogey man that President Donald Trump is bringing back the confederacy. Yes, good old Johnny Rebel and the slave master with his whips and chains will be marching down King Drive once again. Of course, this is a beyond ridiculous argument and it serves only one purpose: to deflect our attention away from their systemic failures.Several weeks ago, black Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson said, "There should be no question to what our country would look like had the Confederacy won were seeing it on full display." The implication here was that Trump was Jefferson Davis 2.0 and that his policies harkened a return to the days of slavery and segregation.CLICK HERE FOR MORE FOX NEWS OPINIONThen several days ago, Black Chicago Teachers Union President Stacy Davis Gates the woman who doesnt trust her public schools to educate her own kids who are in private schools said Trump "is here to win the relitigation of the Civil War and finish the work of the Confederacy."Imagine being a child on the South Side and hearing those words. That child would hear so much anger for the bogeyman of white supremacy and no anger for the failing schools. In fact, that Black elite voice that bashes white supremacy would tell that Black child that it is not their fault that they are not educated, that it is not their fault they cant get a job, or dream of a better life. It's the fault of "The Man" aka white supremacy. These leaders never talk of merit to these children and they never practice it. They have pursued race as their power and that pursuit has corrupted them. That is why I fight them every day from my block on the South Side. I know the power of merit. I know what it does to the mind of the child. And I know how a child who lives the life of merit always I repeat, always has the chance to move out of poverty and into a better life.Merit is the promise that America gives to every one of her children. It takes a certain kind of evil to deny these kids their birthright.CLICK HERE TO READ MORE FROM PASTOR COREY BROOKS0 Comments 0 Shares 27 Views 0 Reviews

WWW.FOXNEWS.COMEnergy-sucking AI data centers can look here for power insteadArtificial intelligence is expanding quickly, and so is the energy required to run it. Modern AI data centers use much more electricity than traditional cloud servers. In many cases, the existing power grid cannot keep up. One innovative solution is gaining traction: repurposed EV batteries for AI data centers.Sign up for my FREE CyberGuy ReportGet my best tech tips, urgent security alerts, and exclusive deals delivered straight to your inbox. Instead of sending used electric vehicle batteries straight to recycling, the company gives them a second life. The process begins by collecting and testing old EV battery packs. Many still retain over 50 percent of their original capacity. Once approved, these batteries are rebuilt into modular storage systems that can power AI operations. One example is a 12-megawatt, 63-megawatt-hour microgrid now supporting a 2,000-GPU data center operated by Crusoe in Nevada. This project is considered the largest active deployment of second-life EV batteries. It already operates more affordably than systems built with new batteries. The environmental and financial benefits are significant. By using repurposed EV batteries for AI data centers, companies avoid sending usable materials to landfills. This also cuts down on mining for new raw materials, which helps reduce carbon emissions.Second-life battery systems typically cost less than brand-new lithium-ion options. That makes large-scale energy storage more accessible to AI developers and utilities. Since these batteries are already built and tested, they can be installed more quickly than waiting for new infrastructure.Redwood Energy estimates that over 100,000 electric vehicles will be retired in the United States this year. That adds up to hundreds of gigawatt-hours in potential energy storage. The company already has more than 1 gigawatt-hour of second-life battery capacity in its development pipeline. Its goal is to reach 5 gigawatt-hours next year.Larger energy projects, including 100-megawatt sites, are also planned. Each one is designed to support the increasing power demands of AI data centers using repurposed batteries instead of new supply chains.Repurposed EV batteries for AI data centers are proving to be a smart, sustainable solution for the industry's soaring energy demands. By bridging the gap between battery recovery and recycling, Redwood Energy is helping power the future of AI while reducing waste and emissions. As more EVs retire and AI continues to grow, expect to see even more green-powered data centers on the horizon. Is repurposing EV batteries the missing link in building greener, smarter data centers, or just another temporary fix masking a bigger problem? WWW.FOXNEWS.COMAnti-Israel professor curses out employer University of Chicago, says she teaches to build powerA leftist professor slammed her "evil" university as a "colonialist landlord," but said she continues to work at the school because she views it as a place in American society where she can amass power."F--- the University of Chicago, its evil, you know its a colonial landlord. Like, why would I put any of my political energy into this space?
