Israel weighs options to destroy Fordow if it has to go it alone without help from the US
If President Trump decides not to order a strike on Irans main underground enrichment site at Fordow, Israel has a number of options to destroy Irans nuclear enrichment facility buried deep under a mountain south of Tehran. One option includes sending elite Israeli Air Force commandos from Unit 5101, known as Shaldag, which, in Hebrew, means kingfisher, a bird known to be patient and dive deep under water to find its prey.In September, members of thiseliteunit surprised the world by entering an underground missile factory used by Iran in Syria."There was a site that similarly looked like Fordow," former Israeli Military Intelligence Chief Amos Yadlin told Fox News in an exclusive interview. "Even though smaller, the Syrian facility produced advanced ballistic missiles, precise ballistic missiles using Iranian technology, as well as Iranian money."AMERICA'S IRAN DILEMMA: HOW TO STRIKE FORDOW WITHOUT LOSING SIGHT OF CHINA THREATIsrael attacked the site from the air a few times but was not able to destroy the site.Unit 5101 (Shaldag) used the cover of darkness and diversionary airstrikes to enter the secret site, plant explosives and destroy the complex. Like Iran's Fordow mountain complex south of Tehran, it was 300 feet underground.HOW BUNKER BUSTER BOMBS WORK AND HOW THEY COULD DESTROY IRANS FORDOW NUCLEAR SITE"The Air Force took care of all the guards around the perimeter, and Shaldag got in, and the place is gone, destroyed," Yadlin said with a slight smile. It's not the first time Israel has had to plan to take out a secret nuclear complex against the odds and alone. In 1981, Israel flew a daring mission to bomb Iraq's nuclear reactor at Osirak.Yadlin was one of eight young Israeli F-16 pilots who carried out the secret attack."We didn't have air refueling at that time. We didn't have GPS. It was dumb bombs, smart pilot, but a very difficult operational mission when Iraq was in a war (with Iran). So, the state of alert was very, very high," Yadlin recalled. He and the other pilots believed it might be a suicide mission, and they might not have enough fuel to return home.More recently, retired Maj. Gen. Yadlin served as the head of Israel's Military Intelligence in 2007, when Israel blew up a suspected Syrian nuclear reactor that the world did not know about. The White House at the time did not want to assist in the strike. Yadlin has seen history change after Israel has acted alone carrying out daring missions like the exploding pagers that killed most of the top commanders of Irans proxy in Lebanon, Hezbollah.WHY US MUST DESTROY IRAN'S FORDOW NUCLEAR FACILITY NOWIn 2008, when it was determined that Israeli F-16s could not reach Iran's nuclear sites, Yadlin ordered Mossad to come up with another way to take out Iran's uranium enrichment at Natanz. Two years later, Israeli and American cyber warriors introduced Stuxnet, a malicious computer worm that caused thousands of Natanz centrifuges to spin out of control, setting back Irans nuclear enrichment. The decision to strike Fordow, the crown jewel and heart of Irans nuclear program, is different, and Israel prefers the U.S. to use its B-2 stealth bombers and 30,000-pound bunker-buster bombs."Anybody who wants the war to be over soon, to be finished quickly, have to find a way to deal with Fordow," Yadlin said. "Those who think that attacking Fordow will escalate the war, in my judgment, it can de-escalate and terminate the war."And it could serve as a deterrent to China and Russia, who will see the power and capability of the U.S. militarys unique capability.Another option would be to cut power to Fordow. Without power, the centrifuges enriching the uranium could become permanently disabled. When asked if Israel could take out Fordow without American B-2 bombers, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told Foxs Bret Baier in an exclusive interview last Sunday, "We have quite a few startups too and quite a few rabbits up our sleeve. And I don't think that I should get into that."

Mysterious 'dragon man' skull found in the 1930s finally identified
A mysterious human skull found in the 1930s has been identified as an existing species after once being thought to be a new species all together, according to researchers. The studies posted in the journals Cell and Science have identified the 146,000-year-old skull known as "dragon man" has been categorized as a Denisovan. The researchers revealed that the Denisovans were discovered by their genomes and proteins to identify them. However, the reason it took so long to identify was that the attempts to extract DNA from a tooth failed.MYSTERIOUS 'DUMPED' BODIES OF WOMAN AND CHILD FOUND BY ARCHAEOLOGISTS IN PICTURESQUE TOWNResearchers also tried extracting DNA from the Harbin cranium as well, which also failed. When those methods failed, researchers turned to using dental calculus, which uses calcified dental plaque. The calcified dental plaque could hold and protect DNA due to its dense crystalline structure that resists degradation in various environments.EXPERTS SOLVE MYSTERY OF ANCIENT 'MUMMIFIED DRAGON' DISCOVERED BY JAPANESE SHOGUNResearchers used bleach on the dental plaque in order to eliminate any possible modern-day DNA.Once extracted, researchers began to compare the genetic material discovered to previous samples. The researchers found that the "dragon man" was not a new species but was a Denisovan and the very first intact specimen to date.According to the researchers, Denisovans coexisted with modern-day humans and are closely related to Neanderthals. The "dragon man" was discovered in mysterious circumstances when a Chinese laborer working on a bridge over the Songhua River found it.The man kept the Harbin cranium well hidden as he was instructed to hide it from the Japanese army.CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APPThe skull was donated shortly before his death in 2018, after which his family relocated the skull and gave it to the Geoscience Museum, Hebei GEO University professor Qiang Ji.While there are limitations to this study, the researchers said there is still so much to learn moving forward. It was called "dragon man" because it was found in the Heilongjiang province of China, which translates to Black Dragon River.Fox News Digitals Julia Musto contributed to this story.

Former Clinton campaign manager laments 'leaderless' state of Dems as Biden remains 'off the radar'
Democratic strategist Patti Solis Doyle lamented on Thursday that the Democratic Party remains rudderless, with neither a leader nor a message to unite around. As Democrats continue to reel from their historic defeat in November and revelations about the alleged cover-up of former President Joe Bidens purported decline while in office, many are still struggling to chart a new course for their party.Solis Doyle, like other veteran Democratic Party strategists, vented her frustration to podcaster and commentator Mark Halperin on his "Next Up" podcast."So, first, let me say that I have never been happier not to be actually in it, in the middle of politics, than I am right now, because it sounds really depressing, what's going on at the party," Solis Doyle said when asked for her take on the state of the party.OBAMA ISNT COMING TO RESCUE DEMOCRATS IN DESPERATE NEED OF LEADERSHIP: NY TIMES COLUMNISTIn addition to how the Democratic Party is being criticized as any party would be after a devastating loss, she said another problem appears unique to the Democrats predicament."The other problem that they have is that theres no real leader," Solis Doyle said. "You know, if your party holds the White House, the leader of the party is the president. If your party doesnt hold the White House, the leader of the party is the last, you know, president of that party. So, right now for us, thats Joe Biden, but he has completely you know, hes off the radar completely.""And as you opened with, Mark, the DNC chair really isnt the leader of the party," she added. "I mean, theyre supposed to keep operations going, they're supposed to raise money, they're supposed to make sure theres stuff going on in the states, but they're not really the leader of the party."This, Solis Doyle continued, is part of a larger issue showing the lack of guidance for the party to unite around.CLICK HERE FOR MORE COVERAGE OF MEDIA AND CULTURECLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APP"So, right now, we're leaderless, we're message-less, we're agenda-less, we dont have any alternative ideas to the president and the Republicans right now. So, you know, Im concerned, to say the least," the strategist said.Solis Doyle argued that if history is any guide, Democrats will take back the House in the midterms. However, the underlying problems of the party will remain, she added.
