Sanders knocks Democrat establishment's strategic use of 'identity politics' to vilify Bernie bros, podcasters
Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., compared the Democratic establishment for demonizing his supporters in the 2016 election to how male podcasters are being vilified today.Sanders spoke to Andrew Schulz and Akaash Singh of the "Flagrant" podcast on Monday, agreeing that the Democratic Party has robbed their constituents of their right to participate in the democratic process. After discussing how the 2016 primary nomination was stolen from Sanders for former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Schulz asked, "Could we not also say, ostensibly, there hasnt been a fair primary for the Democrats since 2008, are they not also a threat to democracy?" he asked."Yes," Sanders replied. But another key element about the 2016 election was how Sanders supporters, then referred to as "Bernie bros," were condemned by the Democratic establishment and the media in 2016. Singh recalled claims that they "have a racism problem, a misogyny problem," and asked, "do you think thats a super PAC thing behind that?"CONSERVATIVES MOCK DEM RHETORIC ABOUT 'OLIGARCHY' AS NYC LIVING ROOM PIC OF ALEX SOROS AND ABEDIN GOES VIRAL"That was the Democratic establishment," Sanders replied, arguing he had a diverse grassroots base. "They were sitting there - We had a lot of young people, we had people-of-color and, you know, they create this kind of myth with the help of the corporate media and all that stuff.""You know it's kind of interesting, to that note, is during this election, the podcast space which the Democrats largely avoided, they feel had some influence in the election and um they started to label us the podcast bros and said that we were sexist, and we were racist and bigoted," Schulz recalled. "It's almost like it's the exact same strategy to get you out of there.""Yeah," Sanders replied, agreeing thats what the "liberal elite" does. The Vermont senator went on to argue that there is a clear distinction between working against "all forms of bigotry" versus engaging in "identity politics.""Youre Black? Youre wonderful, youre tremendous. Youre gay? Youre the greatest human being on Earth," Sanders said, criticizing the identity politics.CLICK HERE FOR MORE COVERAGE OF MEDIA AND CULTURESanders argued advocates of identity politics are failing to ask the real question, "What do you stand for? Youre gay? Thats fine, who cares? But what do you stand for?"Sanders continued, "You know, is every gay person brilliant and wonderful and great? No, of course not. Everybody's a human being. So the issue is What you stand for? which gets you back to what we discussed earlier. Class politics, in the sense of Which side are you on? Are you going to stand with working families? Are you going to raise the minimum wage to a living wage or not? Are you going to guarantee - fight to guarantee - healthcare to all people or not? Are you going to demand that the wealthiest people stop paying their fair share of taxes or not? Those are the issues, and no one cares what color you are, you know, what your gender is etc. etc."CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APP

'Dog the Bounty Hunter' confident NoLa prison break was an 'inside job'
Ten inmates escaping from Orleans Parish Justice Center is no coincidence, according to "Dog the Bounty Hunter." Although the investigation is ongoing, Duane Chapman told Fox News he believes the escape is "definitely an inside job."Ten inmates escaped from the New Orleans jail early Friday morning, and six remain on the run as of Tuesday evening."What is 10 felons doing in one cell? How did they ever get out of there without anyone watching them? So I think that far, not seeing surveillance and all that, I think it is definitely an inside job," Chapman said Tuesday on "The Ingraham Angle."The Orleans Parish Sheriff's Department suggested an "inside job" was a possibility during a news conference.LOUISIANA STATE POLICE CAPTURES 4TH ESCAPED INMATE IN NOLA PRISON BREAK, 6 STILL AT LARGEThe most recent arrest came on Monday night when officials announced the capture of inmate Gary C. Price.A source confirmed to Fox News that authorities have come close to detaining others, but the "timing has been off."The source added it's possible the remaining fugitives left New Orleans, but it's believed most, if not all of them, are still there.Chapman reasoned that it could be expected the inmates would reunite at a "meeting place" some days after the escape, but given the investigation, "somewhere, some way, somebody" could be "hiding the majority of them."JAIL WORKER CLAIMS INMATES THREATENED TO SHANK HIM DURING ORLEANS PARISH ESCAPE: REPORTCLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APPSterling Williams, 33, an employee of the Orleans Parish Sheriff's Office (OPSO), was arrested and charged with 10 counts of principal to simple escape and malfeasance in office, according to a Tuesday morning statement from Attorney General Liz Murrill's office.Williams reportedly said he was threatened with violence by the escapees before allegedly helping them get loose.Chapman pushed back on Williams' claims, asking, "How did anyone even have a shank?"Officials are still searching for six escaped inmates, but the Louisiana Department of Public Safety released new booking pictures of four captured inmates who escaped the New Orleans jail.Chapman told Fox News host Laura Ingraham he feels "sorry for them when they get caught because they just added many more years" to their sentences.Fox News Digital's Peter D'Abrosca, Adam Sabes and Stepheny Price contributed to this report.

Sen. Blackburn targets birth tourism, 'buying American citizenship' in support of Trump's immigration agenda
Sen. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn., introduced new legislation Tuesday aimed at dismantling the multimillion-dollar birth tourism industry that allows foreign nationals to use Americas immigration system to secure automatic citizenship for their children. The Ban Birth Tourism Act, introduced in the U.S. Senate, would amend the Immigration and Nationality Act to declare inadmissible any foreign national seeking a tourist visa for the primary purpose of giving birth in the United States. Those births automatically trigger U.S. citizenship for the child, a long-criticized loophole that opens the door to future family-sponsored migration.SENATE REPUBLICANS INTRODUCE BILL TO REFORM BIRTHRIGHT CITIZENSHIP, FOLLOWING TRUMPS CONTROVERSIAL ORDERBlackburns bill, which was read twice and referred to committee, includes a provision to protect legitimate medical travelers. If the primary reason for entry is medical treatment rather than citizenship acquisition, those cases would not be blocked."For too long, foreign nationals have been exploiting our nations immigration laws, taking advantage of the system to come to the United States solely to give birth and obtain citizenship for their children," Blackburn said in a press release."The Ban Birth Tourism Act would prevent foreign nationals, including those from adversaries like Communist China and Russia, from buying American citizenship for their children. As President Trump works to end birthright citizenship, we need to get this bill to his desk."The push comes as the Trump administration intensifies its focus on restoring immigration integrity in the presidents second term. During his first term, President Trump repeatedly vowed to end automatic citizenship for the children of illegal immigrants and tourists.CALIFORNIA MAN SENTENCED FOR 'BIRTH TOURISM' SCHEME FOR AFFLUENT CHINESE WOMENIn 2020, the State Department under his administration began denying visas to suspected birth tourists, a move hailed by immigration enforcement advocates.Birth tourism is far from a fringe phenomenon. According to conservative immigration policy analysts, the industry accounts for at least 33,000 births annually to women on temporary visas. These children, upon turning 21, can legally sponsor their parents for green cards, offering a backdoor into the U.S. immigration system.A 2015 report by the Center for Immigration Studies estimated the practice generates millions of dollars for companies that specialize in bringing pregnant foreigners, primarily from Russia and China, to the U.S. These firms often charge tens of thousands of dollars for packages that include visa coaching, hospital stays, and luxury accommodations. In one of the largest federal crackdowns to date, the former Trump administration's Department of Justice in 2019 charged nearly 20 individuals in Southern California for operating extensive birth tourism networks targeting Chinese nationals.Prosecutors accused the businesses of coaching clients to lie to immigration officials about the purpose of their travel, a tactic common among such operations.Blackburns bill would codify into law the inadmissibility of any traveler seeking to exploit this loophole, ensuring that birthright citizenship cannot be used as a ticket to game the system.CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APPThe Office of Senator Marsha Blackburn referred Fox News Digital to a Tuesday press release.

California ends ban on special education funds for children in religious schools
The state of California agreed in federal court Monday to stop barring children with disabilities who want to attend religious private schools from receiving special education funding. For decades, children with disabilities have been able to access federal funding for free special education and related services under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). The federal law allows some of this funding to be used in private schools as well, but California lawmakers had, until this week, disqualified religious private schools from access to this program.A group of Orthodox Jewish parents and schools first brought a lawsuit against the California Department of Education in 2023 over this state law, which barred them from receiving IDEA funds to send their kids to Orthodox Jewish schools. The parents argued that their children should be able to receive an education that is in line with their Jewish traditions and beliefs while also providing a quality education that meets their needs.CALIFORNIA PARENTS SUE OVER LAW PREVENTING RELIGIOUS SCHOOLS FROM USING STATE FUNDS FOR SPECIAL ED STUDENTS"Its outrageous that California politicians are using religion as an excuse to deny special education benefits to kids with disabilities," Nicholas Reaves, senior counsel for Becket, a legal group representing the parents, previously told Fox News Digital. "Excluding religious schools from programs which help these children reach their full potential is just plain wrong."In October, a federal appeals court agreed, declaring that California was violating the Constitution by requiring schools to be non-religious for families to apply for these funds. The case returned to district court. On Monday, California and the Los Angeles Unified School District agreed to a court order that permanently prohibits them from enforcing a "nonsectarian" requirement to access the special education funding.Becket hailed the court victory in a press release."California spent decades treating Jewish kids like second-class citizens. Todays settlement ensures that Jewish kids with disabilities can access the resources they need and deservejust like everyone else," Eric Rassbach, vice president and senior counsel at Becket, said in a statement.SUPREME COURT TO HEAR ARGUMENTS ON SCHOOL CHOICE CASE INVOLVING CATHOLIC CHARTER SCHOOLThe California Department of Education did not return a request for comment.CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APPFox News' Kendall Tietz contributed to this report.

Scientists predict underwater volcano eruption 300 miles off Oregon
An underwater volcano off the Oregon coast could erupt late this year, scientists say.The volcano, known as Axial Seamount, is more than 4,900 feet beneath the Pacific Ocean and 300 miles off the Oregon coast, but it is showing signs it will soon erupt for the first time since 2015.The volcano is formed by a hot spot, an area in the Earths mantle where hot plumes of molten material rise upward into the crust, the University of Washington's College of the Environment said in an April blog post. As the crust moves over the top of the mantle, the hot spot stays put, which results in long chains of volcanoes over time.VIDEO: CHAOS IN BANGKOK AS APARTMENT BUILDING COLLAPSES, SENDING PEOPLE RUNNING"Over two-thirds of the Earths surface was formed by volcanic eruptions at these mid-ocean ridges," said Maya Tolstoy, a marine geophysicist and dean of the university's College of the Environment. "Axial Seamount is a direct result of these fundamental processes that continue to shape our planet today."The eruption doesn't pose a danger, scientists said."Axial Seamount is much too deep and far from shore for people on land to even notice when it erupts. An eruption at Axial Seamount also has nothing to do with seismic activity on land, so Pacific Northwesterners dont need to worry about this event triggering a major earthquake or tsunami," the blog post states. The first sign of an eruption at the volcano will be a sharp increase in the number of earthquakes around it, the post states.VIDEO: WATER CASCADES DOWN SIDE OF BUILDING IN BANGKOK FOLLOWING EARTHQUAKE"The volcano has already surpassed the inflation we observed in 2015, but the earthquake activity is still quite low," said Deborah Kelley, a professor at the UW School of Oceanography and director of the Regional Cabled Array. "Were seeing 200 to 300 earthquakes per day, with some spikes around 1,000 per day due to the tides. If what we learned in 2015 is correct, I would expect to see more than 2,000 per day for a few months before the eruption."The quakes will be caused by magma moving toward the surface, the post states."That period lasts about an hour, and then the magma reaches the surface," said William Wilcock, a professor at the UW School of Oceanography. "Lava flows spread across the caldera, and lava-filled fissures open up to the north or the south, reaching as far as 40 kilometers (about 25 miles)."The seismic activity dies down pretty quickly over the next few days, but the eruption will continue slowly for about a month."
