Israels navy hits Houthis in Yemen in 'unique' strike after Trump promises end to US ops
    www.foxnews.com
The Israeli navy on Tuesday issued an unprecedented strike against the Houthi terrorist network in Yemen, an Israel Defense Forces (IDF) official confirmed to Fox News. The long-range precision strikes were issued from a Saar 6 vessel, which hit the port of Hudaydah "to stop the use of the port for military purposes."There was no immediate reporting on any casualties from the strikes, though the official described it as "a unique long-range strike conducted from hundreds of kilometers away."HAMAS WORKING TO 'SABOTAGE' TRUMP-BACKED AID GROUP WITH 'FAKE NEWS': ISRAELI OFFICIAL"The Israeli Navy has been preparing for the operation for an extended period of time, and it is safe to say that it was a successful one," the official said. The latest strike comes just one month after Israel launched a significant attack against the major port and first hit the nearby Sana'a International Airport.President Donald Trump then said the U.S. would stop its military strikes against the Iran-backed terrorist group. However, the Houthis remain a threat to Israel and, onThursday, the IDF intercepted a Houthi missile above Jerusalem, which was just the latest attempt to strike the Jewish nation in retaliation for its military operations in the Gaza Strip.TRUMP HALTS MILITARY STRIKES ON HOUTHIS BUT EXPERT WARNS IRAN-BACKED TERRORIST GROUP REMAINS MAJOR THREATU.S. Army Gen. Michael Kurilla told lawmakers in the House Armed Services Committee on Tuesday that Iran is the number one reason the Houthis remain a threat, adding the terrorist network "would die on the vine without Iranian support."The deputy head of the Houthis' media office, Nasruddin Amer, took to X to claim that the attack had little impact."No significant impact on our operations in support of Gaza, nor on preparations for escalation and expansion of operations deep inside the Zionist enemy entity," he wrote. "It has no impact even on the morale of our people who take to the streets weekly by the millions in support of Gaza.""Gaza is not alone and will not be alone, and escalation and expansion of operations are coming," he threatened. The IDF has threatened to enforce a naval and air blockade over the Houthis, which control the second-largest port in the country, if the attacks continue on Israel.

  • Delauro Hegseth 2
Top House Democrat grills Hegseth on submarine spending plans: 'Give us the details'
    www.foxnews.com
Rep. Rosa DeLauro, D-Conn., confrontedDefense Secretary Pete Hegseth during a heated House Appropriations Committee hearing Tuesday over years-long lags in the nations shipbuilding capacity. The top Appropriations Democrat accused the Defense Department (DOD) of failing to present a clear, transparent plan to ramp up production at a time when Chinas shipbuilding capabilities are estimated to be 230 times greater than the U.S.s. She said the Biden administration had been similarly opaque.DeLauro zeroed in on what she characterized as a troubling shortfall between the Navys current production capacity and future strategic needs."Do you know where our submarine production currently stands and whether current production is sufficient to bridge the gap between current fleet size and projected need?" she asked.HEGSETH DEFENDS NATIONAL GUARD LA DEPLOYMENTS, SAYS ICE AGENTS MUST BE PROTECTED"There is a gap," Hegseth admitted, "but we believe we are closing it."But DeLauro wasnt satisfied, demanding detailed data to back up that claim."We do not have any information or data that can substantiate what youre saying," she shot back. "Give us the details.""We've had difficulty with the prior administration, and I don't mind calling them out. What is your plan for the future?"Asked what the status is of the departments investment in submarine programs, Hegseth boasted of a 14% increase in funding in the fiscal year 2026 budget request for the Columbia-classnuclear-powered ballistic missile submarines and a "substantial increase" in the Virginia-class fast-attack submarines as well. But the congresswoman raised concerns about reports that the Pentagon plans to shift $3.1 billion in funding for the Columbia-class submarine program from FY2026 to FY2027 and FY2028."This creates a serious problem for industry in the short term and hampers shipbuilders ability to reach an adequate production rate," DeLauro warned. "Have you been in contact with Electric Boat or Huntington Ingalls about your plans?"Hegseth pushed back, saying top Pentagon officials were in regular communication with shipyards."Almost every day," he said. "Were actively engaged to make sure their needs are being met and their shortfalls are being addressed so we can close that gap in real time."DeLauro pointed to a missed deadline for placing key submarine contracts authorized under the December continuing resolution. Congress had approved $5.7 billion for two Block IV and one Block V Virginia-class submarines, with the understanding that contracts would be in place by February 2025. The Defense Department did not finalize the contracts until April 30."We have made a serious investment," DeLauro said. "Now we want to know where that is going and what your plan is."MOVE OVER, BLACK HAWK: ARMY UNVEILS THE MV-75, TILTROTOR AIRCRAFT TO REPLACE ICONIC ASSAULT CHOPPERWhen pressed for specifics, Hegseth thanked the committee for its flexibility and acknowledged prior mismanagement under previous administrations. But DeLauro cut him off."I want your plan," she said. "Can we get that in writing and on paper? Because we dont have anything today. We have zip, nada."Hegseth promised to provide the committee with written details of the departments submarine production plan."We have the details, and we will provide them," he said.DeLauro insisted she wanted the information before the committee's markup later the same day.The U.S. Navys shipbuilding capacity has been on the decline since the Cold War. In the 1980s, the U.S. aimed for a 600-ship fleet; today, it struggles to maintain 300 operational vessels. The Navy currently operates under 50 attack submarines, well below the long-term requirement of 66 boats, as outlined by recent Navy force structure assessments.Shipyards like Electric Boat (General Dynamics) in Connecticut and Huntington Ingalls Industries in Virginia and Mississippi are the primary builders of nuclear submarinesbut both are operating near maximum capacity and face major workforce and supply chain challenges.Shipbuilders report significant difficulties in hiring, training and retaining welders, pipefitters, engineers and designers. Shipbuildings highly specialized supply chain was hit especially hard by the Covid-19 pandemic and has been slow to recover.

  • Los Angeles Anti Ice Riots Day 2 008
MSNBC contributor claims 'dark' Trump supporters enjoy watching ICE act like 'slave catchers'
    www.foxnews.com
MSNBC contributor and Princeton University professor Dr. Eddie Glaude claimed on Monday that supporters of President Donald Trump enjoy watching Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) act like "slave catchers" as they carry out immigration raids in Los Angeles.Trump has sent U.S. Marines to L.A. in an effort to quash anti-ICE protests that have ravaged parts of the city. Images from L.A. show masked protesters blocking roads, destroying vehicles and engaging with police.Glaude said on MSNBC's "Deadline: White House" that the immigration raids happening in the city reminded him of a time when "political factions" divided the nation between "slaveholders and slave catchers," and that Trump's assertion that "L.A. is on fire" is not true.WATCH: DEM, MEDIA OUTLETS INSIST LA ANTI-ICE RIOTS ARE 'PEACEFUL' DESPITE VIOLENCE, INJURED COPS"Folk have their red meat, now that theyre going to see the spectacle of quote, unquote L.A. on fire, which is not right. What will happen? Will that activate the ugliness that got him in office in the first place? Will folks now declare why they love him?" Glaude questioned. "Because we know that hes always good on the immigration question."The Princeton professor continued, laying out his analogy for the current political climate surrounding immigration."This reminds me historically of its not a clear analogy but when the nation, when these political factions divided the nation between slaveholders and slave catchers, when they made everybody with the Fugitive Slave Law, all of us had to, if someone escaped all of us had to return that particular piece of property to these folks, with ICE running around L.A., forcing people to make choices," Glaude claimed."Will they protect their friends, their neighbors, their family members? Will they take, will they confront these folks?," he asked.CONGRESS TAKES ACTION OVER REPORTS IT TOOK 2 HOURS FOR LAPD TO ASSIST ASSAULTED ICE AGENTSGlaude argued that L.A. residents are being "terrorized" by the ICE raids and questioned what members of the community are expected to do as illegal immigrants are being rounded up and deported."You see people crying, you see babies crying, and these people come in here and do this s---! What are they supposed to do?" he said."We know that the country is about to pop. So Im sitting here trying to figure out excuse the cuss word Im sitting here trying to figure out, right, what will the country stomach; are they going to allow this man to do this?" Glaude asked. "And the answer that I keep coming to is yes."He then shared with viewers what he thinks of Americans who support the president's initiative to deport illegal immigrants living in the country."Heres the thing: Donald Trump, as a political charlatan of sorts, gives Americans license to be who they really are. They dont have to pretend and when you see what they really are, who they really are, these people who support him. Right? Its dark," Glaude concluded.CLICK HERE FOR MORE COVERAGE OF MEDIA AND CULTURECLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APPFox News' Anders Hagstrom contributed to this report.

A Louisiana father was charged with second-degree murder after allegedly leaving his 21-month-old daughter inside a hot car for more than nine hours.Joseph Boatman, 32, of Hammond, was arrested Sunday after the child died outside a home in Madisonville, according to the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office."Detectives with the STPSO Major Crimes Unit have learned that Boatman had strapped the toddler in her car seat inside the vehicle after picking her up from a family members residence shortly after 2:30 a.m. Sunday," police said."After strapping the toddler in her car seat, Boatman went back inside the residence and never returned to the vehicle. Retired Justice Stephen Breyer's brother assigned to Newsom National Guard lawsuit
    www.foxnews.com
The brother of retired liberal Justice Stephen Breyer was assigned Tuesday to preside over the lawsuit that Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom brought against the Trump administration in California this week.Judge Charles Breyer, an appointee of former President Bill Clinton, is set to oversee the case, which alleges President Donald Trump deprived California of its sovereignty by federalizing thousands of National Guard soldiers in response to anti-immigration enforcement protests and riots in Los Angeles County.Breyer is the younger brother of Stephen Breyer, who was appointed by Clinton to the high court and served on the bench for nearly three decades beginning in 1994. Stephen Breyer's retirement led to former President Joe Biden replacing him with Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson.Charles Breyer, who serves on the federal bench in the Northern District of California, will oversee a lawsuit that pits Newsom, one of the country's most prominent Democrats and a possible 2028 presidential contender, against Trump.CALIFORNIA TO SUE TRUMP, HEGSETH OVER NATIONAL GUARD DEPLOYMENT AMID ANTI-ICE RIOTSNewsom alleged in the lawsuit that Trump made an "unprecedented power grab" by mobilizing the National Guard in his state, a highly unusual move for a president to do without the consent of the governor.Trump has said the move was necessary to protect ICE personnel and federal buildings as some protesters engaged in unlawful assembly and pelted law enforcement with concrete bottles and other hard objects. After the National Guard proclamation, more unrest broke out in parts of the county involving rioters setting fire to several self-driving cars and looting some stores. Newsom alleged Trump's decision to send in the military spurred more chaos.NATIONAL GUARD DEPLOYS TO LOS ANGELES AS VIOLENT ANTI-ICE RIOTS ROCK THE CITYFederal court cases in the Northern District of California are assigned by the Clerk of the Court "blindly and at random" through an automated system, according to the court's website.Fox News Digital reached out to Charles Breyer's chambers for comment on his assignment. The news of Charles Breyer presiding over the case comes as some Republicans have floated the theory that Judge James Boasberg in Washington, D.C., secretly took on Trump cases to sabotage them in favor of plaintiffs.Boasberg directly addressed the claims during a court hearing, saying his assignments, like most others in the court, were randomly assigned by a computer.

Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel delivers brutally honest take on star cornerback Jalen Ramsey's trade situation
    www.foxnews.com
The Miami Dolphins and Jalen Ramsey mutually agreed to explore trade options heading into the 2025 season, but that was almost two months ago. While no deal has been made, head coach Mike McDaniel doesnt seem worried, concerned or any other adjective about Ramseys situation."I dont give a s--- about what I feel," he said when asked his thoughts on the trade dilemma. "I dont even really go down that road of, How do I feel about it? My job is to react and control my controllables and make sure that people are moving in one direction appropriately."CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COMMcDaniel spoke during his teams opening day of mandatory minicamp, where Ramsey wasnt present, as expected. He has elected to remain away from the Dolphins until his situation is resolved. Its a bit surprising to see the 30-year-old not be dealt over the past two months given hes on the market. Ramsey is a seven-time Pro Bowler and three-time All-Pro who continues to play at a high level at the cornerback position.MIKE MCDANIEL REFLECTS ON APPROACH TO PLAYER DISCIPLINE DURING REMARKS ABOUT DOLPHINS' SUBPAR SEASONBut when you look at the financials, perhaps it makes sense why the Dolphins remain the team employing Ramsey. He signed a three-year, $72.3 million extension just one season ago, meaning teams would have to carry a heavy cap hit to trade for Ramsey, unless some sort of financial package can be reached in the process with Miami. As a result, McDaniel is simply focused on the roster he has present at his minicamp. He enters his fourth year on the job, and he could be on the hot seat if Miami doesnt turn things around after an 8-9 season.Of course, quarterback play is a large factor in teams winning and losing, and it didnt help that Tua Tagovailoa suffered yet another concussion that had him out early in the season. McDaniels offense requires precise timing and accuracy, and Tagovailoa has thrived in that atmosphere when healthy. But the Dolphins couldnt keep things afloat with him out, and when Tagovailoa returned, they werent able to make a run into the playoffs.McDaniel will hope the 2025 campaign is more like 2023, when the Dolphins went 11-6 to reach the playoffs. They play in a tough AFC East division, where the New England Patriots got better in all facets and the New York Jets have a dual-threat quarterback leading the way in Justin Fields. And, of course, Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills are still the team to beat. So, McDaniel has a lot to worry about in terms of getting his team prepared for a hopeful playoff run, and hes clearly letting it be known he doesnt have time for players who wanted to be traded."The business is business the opportunity that business does provide in the offseason is a rep to the team about handling noise," McDaniel added. "Noise is [something] that dont have to do with what actually youre there to do Business and offseasons allow you to speak to your team about how the focus of noise is a constant battle that, [to be] successful, you have to win."The Dolphins open their season on the road against the Indianapolis Colts on Sept. 7 at 1 p.m. ET.Follow Fox News Digitalssports coverage on X, and subscribe tothe Fox News Sports Huddle newsletter.
