The body of American journalist and Marine veteran Austin Tice, who was abducted in Syria 12 years ago, has been discovered, according to a report. The body of Tice, who would now be 43, was found in a cemetery in northern Syria, sources told Sky News Arabia on Sunday, according to the Jerusalem Post. The State Department did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital's request for confirmation.Tice was a captain in the Marine Corps and journeyed to Syria as an independent journalist in May 2012, before his final year at Georgetown Law School. He was detained in Damascus in August 2012 while reporting on the uprising against the Bashar al-Assad regime, which marked the early stages of the Syrian civil war.AUSTIN TICE: WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT AMERICAN JOURNALIST MISSING IN SYRIAA video released weeks after Tice went missing showed him blindfolded and held by armed men. He can be heard saying, "Oh, Jesus." It marked the last time he was heard from. The circumstances and timeframe of Tice's reported death were not immediately clear. The reported discovery of Tice's body comes just weeks after Reuters reported that Syria pledged to set up a liaison office at the foreign ministry to find Tice as a condition of receiving possible sanctions relief to help its economy that has collapsed from years of war.BIDEN SAYS US KNOWS 'WITH CERTAINTY' THAT AMERICAN JOURNALIST AUSTIN TICE IS BEING HELD BY SYRIASyria has previously claimed it neither abducted nor held the American journalist, though the U.S. reportedly engaged in back-channel talks with Syria with the help of Lebanese intermediaries for years, including under the Biden administration, to no avail.Rebels seized the capital city of Damascus in December, ousting Assadand renewing hope in the effort to bring Tice home.Then-President Biden expressed some hope regarding Tice in a public address at the time, saying, "We believe hes alive. We think we can get him back, but we have no direct evidence to that yet."In the 12 years that Tice remained missing, his family believed he was still alive. Reports have suggested the U.S. had received intermittent information pertaining to his whereabouts.Tice, a Texas native, was covering events in Syria for McClatchy, The Washington Postand other news organizations when he disappeared.Fox News Digitals Caitlin McFall and The Associated Press contributed to this report.

3 ridiculous ways to celebrate motherhood
    www.foxnews.com
Is there a better way to strengthen the bond between mother and child than to share a ridiculous experience or two?Well, maybe. But celebrating motherhood in joyful, unconventional ways just might be highly underrated, because experiencing the absurd together has the power to create lasting memories and spawn all kinds of delight. Here are just three ways you might do that if you dare, you rebel, you.GOOD SAMARITANS SAVE FLORIDA MOTHER, TWO SMALL CHILDREN FROM ATTEMPTED KIDNAPPER IN DRAMATIC VIDEOMaybe youd like to say, "Yes," to a kids request for mismatched crazy clothes for the day.Say, "Yes," to dessert first.Say, "Yes," to a popup dance party. Turn on your plug-in disco ball (You have one of those, right? If not, I highly recommend.), turn on the dance music and celebrate anywhere! The kitchen, the bedroom, even the bathroom. (Nothing like a disco shower experience first thing in the morning.) Say, "Yes,"to making impromptu "movies" for posterity. (Or just for fun!) Or maybe, like I did once, you couldsay, "Yes,"to an adventure in yucky weather. One rainy day when my daughter was 4 years old, I had a lot to do and was cleaning the house when she approached me with this perfectly ridiculous suggestion: "Mommy," she said, "Lets put on our swimsuits and get umbrellas and go walking in the rain."To be clear: my first thought was, "This is wrong on so many levels."For one thing, we lived in a neighborhood where the houses were close together; we all knew everybodys business. So, for sure, everyone would be able to see Jamie and me in our beachwear, ambling down the street like we did this all the time. I feared turning into a side show for the neighborhood circus. And, come on, it was sorainy. And I was sobusy.I almost said, "No."But when she looked at me with those excited, big blue eyes, I thought, "Oh well. Shes only 4 once."So, we did it. We both put on our swimsuits, grabbed our umbrellas and went for a 20-minute walk in the rain.Forty years later, she remembers those 20 minutes. So, do I.And that priceless memory is always Gods gentle reminder that He made this day and provided all the opportunities for joy in it no matter how small, no matter how goofy-looking and that I should embrace them for all theyre worth. Which is quite a lot.Actually, children can teachusa thing or two about crazy gifts. Our grandson once gave us a gift that he took special care to pick out, a perfectly ridiculous one that he just knew would fill us with grandparental glee: It was a coffee mug shaped like a golden toilet.I am not even kidding. And we continue to enjoy that one as it sits on our bookcase (Um not in our kitchen with all the other boring mugs.) and makes us laugh. So, maybe you could inhabit that spirit and give your child socks with your childs face on them, a practical joke kit, or a goofy, raucous game, like Twister.Or you could turn the tables and gift your own mom with something absurd that would bring her joy.My moms birthday was December 4, and when I was a child, I thought the most wonderful birthday present I could give her was a corsage that she could wear during the Christmas season.Year after year, I "blessed" her with exceedingly tacky corsages made of fake snowmen, fake poinsettias and tiny goofy-eyed elves.I was proudest, though, the year I found a corsage with a disproportionately large aluminum snow shovel in the middle.I remember being absolutely ecstatic at the thought of my mom parading around all December with a snow shovel pinned to her chest. One day, long after I became an adult, I was thinking about those annual gifts I gave her and decided to "bless" her with another one, since all the corsages of old had mysteriously disappeared over the years. So I went to a florist, told her the story and asked if she could fashion me the tackiest corsage imaginable. And did she ever. It was perfectly hideous, and my mom loved it so much she made it into a Christmas ornament and hung it on her tree. And every Christmas thereafter we got to relive that joy.Ah, so much potential for a good time here. You might let your child plan the day the food, the activities, the clothes and just do it all!Plan a road trip to nowhere.Plan a "yes" day with a twist: Youll say, "Yes" to everything (within reason!), but each yes comes with a crazy challenge, like "Yes, we can put marshmallows on our pizza, but we have to talk in pirate voices the whole time were eating."Or maybe youd like to plan something spectacularly ridiculous for your own mom, like I did.One year my mom and I were at the Virginia State Fair, passing a photo stand where you could get your picture taken with a chimpanzee."Mom, lets get our picture taken with the chimp!" I pleaded.I was 35 years old at the time and still begging my 70-year-old mom to let me do fun stuff.I know, I know. But to my disappointment, she repeatedly refused. Finally, I asked, "Why not?""Well," she said, "someone might look at it 50years from now and think it was a three-generation photo."CLICK HERE FOR MORE FOX NEWS OPINIONTo my sorrow, our chance to make merry was gone until about 20 years later, when my relatives from Indiana were coming to my home in Virginia for a family event. One night two weeks before their arrival, I had an idea. "How fun would it be," I thought, "to secure a photographable chimp and redeem that lost opportunity from years ago!"In short order, I found one, and on the appointed day, when I saw the chimp and her handler coming up our sidewalk, I told my mom, "Put on some lipstick. I have a surprise for you!"She was all excited this time, and for 90 unforgettable minutes, we were engaged in a primal frolic with this little ape slightly scary since, by the end of our time together, we were all acting pretty much alike. The sweetest moment of the day, however, was when my mom and I at long last sat down for our photo with a chimpanzee. That photo sits on my dresser today as a reminder that celebrating motherhood with ridiculousness in all its forms not only brings moms and kids great joy, but I believe it makes God smile with us.And thats the best celebration of all.

GOP senators launch new push to back mothers with MOMS Act
    www.foxnews.com
EXCLUSIVE: Sen. Katie Britt, R-Ala., will put forward the MOMS (More Opportunities for Mothers to Succeed) Act on Tuesday, aiming to provide critical support to Americas mothers, both prenatal and post-partum, as Mother's Day arrives Sunday.Britt said the number of births in the U.S. in 2023 was the lowest since the Carter administration, citing the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)."The Republican Party is the party of life, the party of parents, and the party of families," she added to Fox News Digital."At the heart of the MOMS Act is building a comprehensive culture of life to give moms, children and families the support system they need to thrive and live their American Dream."5 HIGH TECH MOTHERS DAY GIFTS THAT SHOW YOU REALLY CARE"As a mom myself, I dont have to wonder what other moms are facing Im living it. I know firsthand that there is no greater blessing in life than our children and I also understand the types of challenges that women face during their pregnancy journeys and while raising their kids. Im proud to support women throughout these seasons of motherhood, and the MOMS Act is part of my continued commitment to fight on their behalf.Britt is joined on the bill by Sen. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn., and several dads as well, including Sens. Jim Justice, R-W.Va., Steve Daines, R-Mont., Kevin Cramer, R-N.D., David McCormick, R-Pa., Charles Grassley, R-Iowa and others.McCormick told Fox News Digital he was proud to join such a "pro-family effort," while warning that the U.S. birth and fertility rates have been "alarmingly low" for some time.FOR MOTHER'S DAY, A VIRGINIA MOM'S STUNNING DISCOVERY REMINDS HER OF GOD'S LOVING PRESENCE"Im proud to join [my] colleagues in this pro-family effort to help ensure new and expecting mothers can access the resources they need for the long-term health and well-being of themselves and their children," he said. The MOMS Act would establish a new "pregnancy-dot-gov" for expectant and post-partum mothers as well as those with young children, in order to increase access to adoption agencies, pregnancy resource centers and other assistance by ZIP code. For states like Alabama, where rural communities are especially in need of such support, it would establish a grant program that would help assuage the more than 20 counties in the Yellowhammer State alone that are considered "maternity care deserts."Britts last attempt at putting forward MOMS Act legislation was blocked by Democrats whom she said had erroneously characterized the bill as creating a federal pregnancy database, among other "outlandish" claims.CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APPThe 2025 version also includes Cramers Unborn Child Support Act to allow state governments to apply child support obligations during gestation. While no Democrats have yet come out in public support, Virginia Sen. Tim Kaine recently co-sponsored the Child Care Availability and Affordability Act with Britt to strengthen tax credits aimed at lowering the cost of day care and the like.

  • 1 Sms Mms Or Rcs How To Pick The Right Messaging Option
Sending a text the wrong way could cost you money and trouble
    www.foxnews.com
Ever wondered why your text messages sometimes fail to send, show up pixelated or dont appear at all on the other persons end?It might not be your phone, but your carriers messaging support. Knowing the difference between SMS, MMS and RCS and how your carrier handles them can save you money, improve message delivery and ensure youre using the full potential of your messaging app. Before you can figure out which phone carrier fits your messaging needs, it helps to understand the differences between the three main types of mobile messaging SMS, MMS and RCS. Each has its own capabilities, limitations and impact on your experience.Join The FREE CyberGuy Report: Get my expert tech tips, critical security alerts and exclusive deals plus instant access to myfree Ultimate Scam Survival Guide when you sign up!SMS (Short Message Service) is the most basic form of text messaging and has been around since the early days of mobile phones. It allows users to send plain text messages with a strict character limit of 160 characters. SMS messages are sent over the cellular network, which means they work even if you dont have a data plan or access to Wi-Fi. This makes SMS one of the most reliable messaging options available, especially for simple communication. It works for all phones, even older models, which makes it universal.MMS (Multimedia Messaging Service)builds upon SMS by allowing the transmission of multimedia content. With MMS, users can send images, videos, audio files and even GIFs. The character limit is significantly higher, typically up to 1,600 characters, although this can vary depending on the carrier. MMS messages also travel over the cellular network but require mobile data to send and receive. They do not require Wi-Fi, but because media files are larger, the reliability can vary. Some carriers compress MMS files or fail to send them if they exceed certain size limits, which means your carefully chosen vacation photo might arrive as a pixelated blur.RCS (Rich Communication Services) represents the next generation of mobile messaging. It is designed to upgrade the SMS and MMS experience by providing features that rival popular messaging apps like iMessage and WhatsApp. With RCS, users can send high-resolution photos and videos, audio clips, emoji, stickers and even read receipts and typing indicators. There is no character limit, and the service works over Wi-Fi or mobile data instead of over standard cellular channels. While RCS allows larger files, some messaging platforms or carriers may still apply soft limits or compress images/videos to ensure consistent performance. However, for RCS to work, both the sender and the recipient need to have RCS enabled on a supported messaging app and carrier. Google Messages is the most reliable app for accessing these RCS features, especially on Android devices. However, it should be noted that Apple devices do not support RCS natively because Apple relies on iMessage for similar functionality.HOW TO STOP SPAM TEXT MESSAGES ON YOUR PHONENow that you know what SMS, MMS and RCS are, its important to understand how your phone carrier influences your messaging experience. From hidden fees to message delivery issues, the provider you choose can make a big difference in how well these technologies work. Not all carriers treat these messaging types the same. While SMS is often free and unlimited on many plans, MMS messages may incur additional charges, especially on prepaid or international plans. RCS messages, on the other hand, use mobile data or Wi-Fi and typically do not incur per-message fees, making them a cost-effective option if supported. For example, carrier A might offer unlimited SMS but charge for every MMS sent. Carrier B might include MMS in the plan but cap the number of SMS messages. Carrier C could fully support RCS, letting users send messages over Wi-Fi for free. Choosing the right carrier based on how you communicate can help avoid surprise charges. While SMS and MMS are universally supported, RCS still depends on carrier infrastructure and the messaging app being used. Some carriers support RCS only through their proprietary apps, which may not be compatible with all devices. Others support "universal RCS", which works across multiple platforms but still requires the right app, most reliablyGoogle Messages. If youre hoping to use RCS features like high-resolution image sharing, read receipts and typing indicators, its important to ensure your carrier not only supports RCS but also supports it universally across devices and apps. Otherwise, your message may silently fall back to SMS or MMS if the recipients carrier or device does not support RCS.ANDROID FEATURE PREVENTS SENSITIVE CONTENT IN GOOGLE MESSAGESAs of May 2025, all major U.S. wireless carriers and most of their sub-brands and MVNOs (mobile virtual network operators) fully support SMS, MMS and RCS messaging. This includes both Android and iPhone users (with iOS 18.4 or newer for RCS on iPhone). You can expect full support for SMS, MMS and RCS on the following carriers:AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, US Cellular, C Spire, Consumer Cellular, Cricket, Family Mobile, FirstNet, H2O Wireless, Metro by T-Mobile, Mint Mobile, Boost Mobile, Google Fi, PureTalk, RedPocket Mobile, Spectrum Mobile, Straight Talk, TracFone, Ultra Mobile, US Mobile, Visible and Xfinity Mobile. If you are using one of these carriers, you can expect the latest messaging features, including high-resolution media sharing, read receipts, typing indicators and the ability to send messages over Wi-Fi or mobile data. For the best experience, make sure your device is updated to the latest software and that you are using a supported messaging app.BEST WIRELESS PHONE PLANSRCS support is expanding internationally, with carriers like Orange and Sosh in France offering RCS on iPhones running iOS 18.4 beta. To check if your international carrier supports RCS on iPhone:HOW TO GET RID OF ROBOCALLS WITH APPS AND DATA REMOVAL SERVICESApple and Google are rolling out support for RCS Universal Profile 3.0, which brings end-to-end encryption for RCS messages, enhancing privacy and security across platforms. Some carriers may still be updating their infrastructure, so check with your provider or device settings if you do not see RCS options enabled. If you use a smaller or regional provider not mentioned above, or if you plan to travel internationally, it is important to check with your carrier about its current support for RCS, especially if you use an iPhone. While international support for RCS is expanding, it is not yet universal. When you are abroad, reliable messaging becomes even more critical. SMS is the most dependable option and works almost everywhere, making it a safe choice for staying connected. MMS, on the other hand, can be inconsistent overseas due to differences in network standards and carrier agreements. RCS is even less predictable outside your home country, as it relies on mobile data or Wi-Fi and often does not function while roaming unless your carrier specifically enables it for international use.So, if you are traveling or using a less common carrier, always confirm whether your plan includes international MMS and RCS support. This will help you avoid unexpected gaps in communication or surprise fees and ensure your messages reach their destination reliably.GOT A BANK TRANSFER ALERT TEXT? IT MIGHT BE A SCAM. HERES WHAT TO DOEmail-to-text is a feature that lets you send a text message to someones phone number directly from your email. To do this, you use a special email-to-SMS gateway provided by the recipients mobile carrier. For example, to text a friend on AT&T, youd send an email to something like 1234567890@txt.att.net.However, not all carriers support this, and some may block the feature altogether to prevent spam or limit abuse. Even among those that do support it, there can be differences between how SMS (text-only) and MMS (media messages) are handled.Below are examples of the special email addresses (called gateways) that let you send text messages via email:AT&TVerizonT-MobileIf you rely on this feature, such as sending yourself reminders from your email or receiving system alerts to your phone, it is important to check whether your carrier supports it. Be aware that not all carriers clearly document this capability, especially smaller providers like Spectrum Mobile or Xfinity Mobile, which may restrict or not support it at all.WHAT IS ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (AI)?To enhance your mobile messaging security, follow these best practices:1. Avoid clicking on unknown links or messages and install strong antivirus software: Be cautious with links or attachments from unknown sources because they can lead tophishing or malware attacks. Also, install strong antivirus software on your device to protect against malware and viruses. The best way to safeguard yourself from malicious links that install malware, potentially accessing your private information, is to have strong antivirus software installed on all your devices. This protection can also alert you to phishing emails and ransomware scams, keeping your personal information and digital assets safe.Get my picks for the best 2025 antivirus protection winners for your Windows, Mac, Android and iOS devices.2. Enable Multi-factor Authentication (MFA):Use MFA to add an extra layer of security for your messaging apps and accounts. This can include methods like authentication apps, physical security keys, or SMS codes, which help prevent unauthorized access even if your password is compromised. By activating MFA, you significantly reduce the risk of your accounts being hacked, providing an essential safeguard against cyber threats.GET FOX BUSINESS ON THE GO BY CLICKING HERE3. Keep your device and apps updated: Regularlyupdate your operating system and apps to ensure you have the latest security patches.4. Use end-to-end encrypted messaging apps: Consider using apps with end-to-end encryption for secure communication. This ensures that only you and the intended recipient can read the messages, keeping them safe from hackers or third-party interception. Popular options include Signal, WhatsApp and iMessage, which prioritize privacy and protect sensitive conversations from unauthorized access.5. Be mindful of public Wi-Fi and use a Virtual Private Network (VPN):Avoid using public Wi-Fi for sensitive communications, as it can be insecure and expose your data to potential eavesdropping or hacking. Consider using a VPN for secure browsing on public networks because it encrypts your internet traffic and masks your IP address, providing a safer experience even on unsecured networks. By using a VPN, you can significantly reduce the risks associated with public Wi-Fi and protect your personal data from unauthorized access. For best VPN software, see my expert review of the best VPNs for browsing the web privately on your Windows, Mac, Android and iOS devices6. Delete sensitive messages:Regularly delete sensitive messages to minimize data exposure. This practice helps protect your privacy by ensuring that confidential information isn't stored indefinitely on your device or in the cloud, where it could potentially be accessed by unauthorized parties. Additionally, consider using messaging apps that offer features like automatic message deletion or self-destructing messages to further enhance your privacyHOW TO BLOCK A PHONE NUMBER OR TEXT ON YOUR SMARTPHONETexting may seem simple, but theres a lot going on behind the scenes, especially when your messages arent sending or show up weird. Understanding the difference between SMS, MMS and RCS can save you from headaches, surprise charges and blurry photos. The good news? A little knowledge goes a long way. Now that youre in the know, you can text smarter, choose the right carrier and keep your conversations running smoothly, wherever you are.Do you think mobile carriers should do more to protect you from phishing scams and malicious links sent via SMS and MMS? Astros pitcher Lance McCullers Jr says fans were 'threatening to find my kids and murder them' after bad start
    www.foxnews.com
Houston Astros pitcher Lance McCullers Jr. said his teams fans have turned on him in the worst way. After a rough start on Saturday, where he allowed seven earned runs in just one-third of an inning pitched against the Cincinnati Reds, McCullers said he received death threats from Astros fans online."I understand people are very passionate and people love the Astros and love sports, but threatening to find my kids and murder them is a little bit tough to deal with," the 31-year-old right-hander said. "So, just as a father, I think there have been many, many threats over the years aimed at me mostly, and I think actually one or two people from other issues around baseball actually had to go to jail for things like that.CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COM"But I think bringing kids into the equation, threatening to find them or next time they see us in public, theyre going to stab my kids to death, things like that, its tough to hear as a dad."Houston Police Department and MLB security have both been alerted to the threats against McCullers, the organization said. This was only McCullers second start for the Astros since the 2022 World Series, as hes been battling through several injuries over the last two seasons.PAT MCAFEE SHARES MESSAGE WISHING DEATH ON HIMSELF, INFANT DAUGHTER FOLLOWING CANADA COMMENTSIt was disastrous from the start as Elly De La Cruz hit a three-run homer after McCullers walked TJ Friedl and hit Matt McLain with a pitch to start the game. McCullers got an out following the home run, but two more walks and two hits after that quickly turned the game to a 5-0 lead.Manager Joe Espada had to pull the plug on McCullers, but the base runners on second and third were still his responsibility. They came across later in the 10-run first inning for Cincinnati.Espada also spoke on the death threats against his veteran starter."There are people who are threatening his life and the life of his kids because of his performance," Espada explained. "It is very unfortunate that we have to deal with this. After all hes done for this city, for his team, the fact that we have to talk about that in my office I got kids, too, and it really drives me nuts that we have to deal with this. Very sad, very, very sad."McCullers is a two-time World Series champion trying to find consistency on the mound once again. His injury problems began in spring training in 2023, when a muscle strain in his pitching arm shut him down. Then, in June of that year, he underwent season-ending surgery to repair a flexor tendon in his arm as well as remove a bone spur.McCullers rehab didnt go as planned either. In July 2024, he was shut down from throwing and it was announced he would miss the entire season. He would finally get his chance back on the mound on May 4, where he threw three scoreless innings against the Chicago White Sox."If you fail, you fail on a very large stage (with) a lot of eyes and theres nowhere to hide," McCullers added. "At the end of the day, I just want to do my job. I just want to be a good pitcher for the Astros, and I believe Ill get there. But, like I said, I just think that having to worry about that, worry about leaving town and leaving them and things like that or dropping her off at school, I just think there should be some type of decency."McCullers, who made the All-Star team in 2017, owns a career 3.55 ERA with the Astros, even after his rough outing on Saturday. He also has a 3.47 ERA in 19 postseason games, all with Houston. The Associated Press contributed to this report.Follow Fox News Digitalssports coverage on X, and subscribe tothe Fox News Sports Huddle newsletter.

Rising Texas baseball star Jonah Williams' behavior during at-bat draws Florida fans' ire

The Florida Gators men's baseball team opened their three-game series against the Texas Longhorns with an 8-2 victory. But, much of the chatter ended up revolving around a Texas player's at-bat.Jonah Williams, a freshman at Texas, appeared to spark some discontent from the Florida faithful late in the game. But, during his walk to first, Williams tossed his bat aside and nodded his head. The behavior sparked some questions from fans and other observers, considering he was not gearing up to circle the bases after a home run or any other clutch base hit. Some critics even suggested Williams' dictated a response from Florida's baseball team. On Saturday, the second game of the series, Williams stepped up to the plate and hit a bases-clearing double. The hit helped lift Texas to a 5-2 victory. The third game of the series is set for this afternoon.Williams also plays for the Texas football team.Follow Fox News Digitals sports coverage on X, and subscribe to the Fox News Sports Huddle newsletter.

MLB fans react to Rockies' 21-0 loss to Padres: 'Sell the team'

US one step closer to 100% deal with Mexico ending decades-long sewage crisis gripping vacation hotspot: EPA
    www.foxnews.com
The U.S. and Mexico are one step closer to permanently ending a sewage crisis spewing from across the border into waters off the coast of San Diego, Environmental Protection Agency chief Lee Zeldin announced."This week, EPA transmitted to Mexico a proposed 100% solution that would PERMANENTLY END the decades-old crisis of raw sewage flowing in to the U.S. from Mexico. Next, technical groups from both nations will be meeting to work through the details necessary to hopefully reach an urgent agreement," Zeldin posted to X on Friday.Zeldin visited San Diego last month, where he announced talks with his government counterparts in Mexico to end the decades-long issue. The problem, blamed on outdated wastewater infrastructure, has persisted for decades, but has spiraled in recent years as Tijuana's population skyrocketed. The sewage water has not only threatened San Diego's massive tourism industry and local residents, but also poses a national security risk as it pollutes the waters where U.S. Navy SEAL members and candidates train, Fox Digital previously reported.EPA CHIEF ZELDIN LAUNCHES TALKS WITH MEXICO TO END SEWAGE HITTING SAN DIEGO, NAVY SEALS: 'OUT OF PATIENCE'The U.S. Naval Special Warfare Command is headquartered in San Diego and is where Navy SEAL candidates complete their arduous six-month Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL (BUD/S) training at the Naval Amphibious Base Coronado. In February, the Department of Defense's inspector general released a report finding that the Naval Special Warfare Center reported 1,168 cases of acute gastrointestinal illnesses among SEAL candidates between January 2019 and May 2023 that were attributed to the contaminated water.Veterans who spoke to Fox News Digital in April described the contaminated water as a national security crisis."This is a huge national crisis," Navy SEAL vet Jeff Gum, who was sickened by the water when he was working through SEAL training in 2008, told Fox Digital in a Zoom interview last month. "Like half the SEAL teams are located in San Diego; the other half are in Virginia Beach. So when you've got half the SEAL teams who are getting exposed to this, then it's a major issue."EPA CHIEF TAKES ON MEXICAN 'SEWAGE CRISIS' FLOWING INTO US WATERS WHERE NAVY SEALS TRAINZeldin said last month that he and his counterparts in Mexico had launched good-faith talks to update infrastructure and water management facilities, adding that he zeroed in on the "specifics," including drafting a "comprehensive list of everything that we believe with full confidence is going to end the crisis" on both the U.S. side of the border and Mexico's."Now, if you don't do all of the other projects and all you do is clean up the current contamination, that feel-good moment will last about a day," Zeldin said during a press conference in San Diego last month. "We have to stop the flow in. Mexico needs to fulfill its part in cleaning up the contamination that they caused."MEXICO IS POISONING SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA IN A BORDER CRISIS ALMOST NO ONE KNOWS ABOUT"We need Mexico to not just commit to all the projects that will stop the flow, but in order to actually finish this project, they're going to need to commit to that final cleanup," he added.Zeldin first addressed the sewage problem in March before previewing the trip to take on the issue."I was just briefed that Mexico is dumping large amounts of raw sewage into the Tijuana River, and its now seeping into the U.S.," he posted to X on March 8. "This is unacceptable. Mexico MUST honor its commitments to control this pollution and sewage!"Local leaders have been sounding the alarm on the sewage problem. Imperial Beach's Mayor Paloma Aguirre sent a letter to Zeldin in March describing how the raw sewage has sparked one of "Americas most horrendous environmental and public health disasters," as billions of gallons have polluted the Pacific Ocean since 2023 alone.MEXICAN SEWAGE GUSHING INTO NAVY SEAL TRAINING WATERS IS US' 'NEXT CAMP LEJEUNE,' VETS WARN"The toxic sewage coming across the border from Mexico into South San Diego County is among Americas most horrendous environmental and public health disasters," Aguirre's March 3 letter to Zeldin, published online, reads. "Since 2023, over 31 billion gallons of raw sewage, polluted stormwater and trash have flowed across the Mexican border, down the Tijuana River, through the cities of San Diego and Imperial Beach and into the Pacific Ocean.""Our residents, are getting ill due to polluted air," the letter continued. "Workers, including Navy Seals training in the area, have been sickened on the job by waterborne and aerosolized diseases. Many homeowners have been forced to place air quality monitors on their property so they know whether or not it's safe to go outside. And the economic impact is profound, with the sewage crisis hurting area tourism, maritime industry jobs and local property values."San Diego is one of the nation's top cities for tourism behind other national treasures such as New York City, New Orleans and Washington, D.C. attracting roughly 32 million tourists to the city in 2024, the San Diego Tourism Authority previously reported.SAN DIEGO SUBURB FACES 'SEWAGE CRISIS' FROM LOCAL BEACHDuring his visit to San Diego last month, Zeldin vowed to bring an end to the issue as Californians run out of patience with the crisis."The Americans on our side of the border who have been dealing with this for decades, are out of patience," Zeldin said at a Tuesday press conference in San Diego. "There's no way that we are going to stand before the people of California and ask them to have more patience and just bear with all of us as we go through the next 10 or 20 or 30 years of being stuck in 12 feet of raw sewage and not getting anywhere.""So we are all out of patience," he continued. "There's a very limited opportunity. We're in good faith, both on the American side and also on the Mexican side, what's being communicated by the new Mexican president is an intense desire to fully resolve this situation."

MLB fans react to Rockies' 21-0 loss to Padres: 'Sell the team'
    www.foxnews.com
The Colorado Rockies abysmal start to their 2025 campaign hit a new low on Saturday, as they fell to the San Diego Padres, 21-0, at Coors Field, marking the teams worst shutout loss in franchise history. As the Padres poured it on, MLB fans couldnt believe what they were watching, and their voices were heard on social mediaThe on-field product has been atrocious all year, as their 6-33 record is by far the worst in MLB. But a football score was on the board at Coors Field, and the Rockies fans in the stands, who were vastly outnumbered by Padres supporters, were chanting for change.CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COM"The Rockies are losing 19-0 at the bottom of the fifth," one X user posted. "The crowd is chanting, Sell the Team, Sell the Team."Its not the first time Rockies owner Dick Monfort has heard chants to sell his team, as they havent had a winning record since 2018, losing over 100 games in each of the last two seasons.Longtime Denver Gazette columnist Woody Paige gave his take after watching Saturdays game.MLB ROUNDTABLE: ARE THERE ANY GOOD TEAMS IN THE AL WEST? ARE THE GIANTS LEGIT?"Delusional Dick Monfort said before season in rare form Rockies could have the best defense in history of baseball," Paige wrote on X. "Roxhead was just a bit outside. Rockies lead MLB in errors and are last in fielding percentage. Go back to Greeley, Dick, and take the stink with you."A young kid held up a sign in the stands that read, "My arm is rested if needed!" showing how desperate fans are to see a good product."Send the Rockies to Triple-A," another X user posted."Leagues should step in and take teams from inept ownership, McCourt style," another wrote. "Rockies ownership is just not worthy of having that team anymore. The [Nolan] Arenado trade was the absolute end."On the other hand, some noticed that there were still a lot of fans in the stands despite the horrendous deficit. Just look at the crowd when Padres star Fernando Tatis Jr. smacked a three-run homer to make it 19-0.One fan gave a perspective on why Monfort would never sell."Its 20-0 #Padres in the sixth inning and fans are doing the wave having the time of their lives," an X user posted. "This is why the Monforts wont sell the #Rockies. Fans dont care. Good weather, beer, etc. Pathetic for a true baseball fan."One of those true baseball fans urged Rockies supporters to stop going to games after watching last night."As a Colorado native it is absolutely embarrassing that people still go to the games then complain how bad they are," he wrote. "YOU ARE THE REASON THE MONFORTS WONT SELL. STOP ATTENDING AND GIVING THEM MONEY."In the end, at least the Rockies social media team is trying to find a way to make light of the situation. The MLB record for most losses in a single year 121 was set by the Chicago White Sox in 2024.The Rockies appear headed to rivaling that woeful record.Follow Fox News Digitalssports coverage on X, and subscribe tothe Fox News Sports Huddle newsletter.
