Jimmy Buffett's $275M estate becomes center of heated inheritance dispute
The fight over Jimmy Buffetts estate has sparked a massive legal battle. His widow has filed a petition to have co-trustee Richard Mozenter, who manages the late musician's estate, removed for failing to act in her "best interests" with the marital trust that was "created for her benefit."Jane Buffett, who married the singer in 1977, made the legal filing in Los Angeles Superior Court on Tuesday, alleging that Mozenter, also a co-trustee of the marital trust set up for her, has been "openly hostile and adversarial" toward her and worked against her, according to the legal filing obtained by Fox News Digital.TONY BENNETT'S DAUGHTERS CLAIM BROTHER TOOK ADVANTAGE OF THEIR FATHER FOR FINANCIAL GAIN IN NEW LAWSUIT"Mr. Mozenter has failed to perform even the most basic tasks required of him in his role as co-trustee, including providing Mrs. Buffett with information concerning Trust assets and finances, which has left Mrs. Buffett in the dark with regard to the state of her own finances," the filing said. "Along the way, Mr. Mozenter has belittled, disrespected, and condescended to Mrs. Buffett in response to her reasonable requests for information she undoubtedly was entitled to receive. As a result, the majority of Mrs. Buffetts net worth is controlled by someone she does not trust, and to whom the Trust for her benefit must pay enormous feesmore than $1.7 million in 2024 to him and his firmno matter how badly he treats her."Mozenter has filed his own petition in Florida to have her removed as co-trustee and representative of the estate, according to The Hollywood Reporter.Fox News Digital has reached out to Mozenter for comment.Jimmy Buffett died in 2023 following a battle with cancer, leaving a $275 million estate.Jane's filing claims that one month after the musicians death, she reached out toMozenter to find out how much she would be expected to receive from the trust going forward.JIMMY BUFFETT'S BUSINESS EMPIRE WENT BEYOND SEARCHING FOR HIS LOST SHAKER OF SALT"Rather than help his recently-widowed client understand her finances, Mr. Mozenter spent the next 16 months stonewalling and making excuses for why he could not yet provide the requested information," the filing said.In February, Mozenter finally gave Jane an estimate that the marital trust would generate less than $2 million in net income annually, a rate of return of less than 1%, according to the filing.CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR THE ENTERTAINMENT NEWSLETTERMozenter "acknowledged that, over the prior 18 months, Margaritavillea company of which the Trust owns roughly 20%had paid distributions of approximately $14 million, but he decided against including any estimate of future distributions from Margaritaville in his analysis of the Marital Trusts future income."The filing stated that Mozenter told Jane that Margaritaville "continues to evaluate future business opportunities and how they deploy existing liquid assets."LIKE WHAT YOURE READING? CLICK HERE FOR MORE ENTERTAINMENT NEWSHe told her, based on that analysis, that the trust would not cover her annual expenses, saying she could consider making "adjustments" or selling her own real estate to make up the difference, the filing claims."If the Marital Trust truly earns such a low return consistent with the financials Mr. Mozenter presented, it will confirm that Mr. Mozenter is either not competent to administer the Trust or unwilling to act in Mrs. Buffetts best interests," Janes filing claimed.Buffett landed on the Forbes billionaires list for the first time in 2023 for an empire that, along with his music, included his "Margaritaville" island escapism brand sparked by his hit 1977 song. Sweet deception? Loyal customers accuse iconic dessert chain of 'shrinkflation'
One of America's most popular restaurant chains has been accused of "shrinkflation" by some of its most loyal customers. The Cheesecake Factory, famous for its large portion sizes, has 200-plus locations across the United States. The chain is well-known for having an expansive, calorie-packed menu of over 250 items across various cuisines. But the restaurant is now being accused of shrinkflation, which is when companies make products smaller while keeping prices the same or raising them.DO YOU SPEND MORE AT FAST-FOOD RESTAURANTS THAN YOU WANT TO? CONSIDER THISMembers of a Cheesecake Factory Reddit group, a community of 4,000 cheesecake enthusiasts, recently discussed the chain's allegedly dwindling portion sizes. In one post, a skeptical customer shared a picture of a cheesecake slice in a to-go box."The last couple of times I got a slice of cheesecake it was about half the size of the usual slice," the post began."I saw one post about this on this sub, but people were saying it could be due to not properly aligned machines rather than smaller sizes in general."COSTCO REVIVES FAN-FAVORITE COMBO PIZZA IN CALZONE FORM TO MIXED MEMBER REVIEWSThe user continued, "Have others continued to experience smaller slices? What is more disturbing is that the calories per slice listed on their website have not changed, which would make one assume they should be getting the same size of slices."The user's concerns were validated by most commenters, who overwhelmingly concluded that they, too, noticed smaller slices."The cheesecakes used to have 8 slices in each," one Redditor claimed. "Now it's 12 slices for each.""And of course the price has only gone up," another commenter replied.Another recalled, "Yes!! A month ago, I was SHOCKED at the size of the to-go slices we were handed at the counter."Other users said the cake slices have been smaller for a while."If memory serves, I think the slices got smaller years ago," one Redditor said. For more Lifestyle articles, visit foxnews.com/lifestyleAnother wrote, "Slices are definitely smaller. I noticed this years ago. I remember you could easily split a piece and you would get plenty. Now it's like two or three bites each, lol!"Fox News Digital reached out to The Cheesecake Factory for comment. In the thread, a baker noted that while cheesecakes are rather simple to make, they can be expensive due to the amount of cream cheese they require."I bake a lot and cheesecake is actually one of the simpler things to bake well so long as you follow instructions," the user said.CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR OUR LIFESTYLE NEWSLETTERIt "is essentially cream cheese and you need a lot of it," the user said. "Contrast [that] with something like a Bundt cake, which is also a fairly simple cake to bake, but the cost of ingredients for it [is] relatively inexpensive."The Cheesecake Factory is not the only food franchise to be hit by shrinkflation allegations. Last year, PepsiCo began adding more chips to bags following complaints about shrinkflation. At the time, CEO Ramon Laguarta said that inflationary pressures and higher borrowing costs had "continued to impact consumer budgets and spending patterns."The Cheesecake Factory has been in business since opening its first location in Beverly Hills, California, in 1978.

SEN ROGER MARSHALL: Trumps One Big, Beautiful Bill will keep our border the most secure it's been in history
Our country stands at a crossroads. Thanks to President Donald Trumps and Homeland Security Secretary Noems leadership, our border is secure. We can either capitalize on this success and give law enforcement the resources it needs to keep it secure by passing theOne Big, Beautiful Bill, or we can let the sacrifice of our men and women on the ground be in vain.Considering the sheer size and prior dismantling of our southern border, what Customs and Border Protection (CBP), the Coast Guard, and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) have managed to accomplish isremarkable. They cut daily encounters with illegal aliens by 95%, seizedbillions of dollars worthof cocaine and over3,000 poundsof illicit fentanyl, and deported hundreds of gang membersand terrorists. On day one of President Trumps second term, he deployed the U.S. military to help secure our border and protect our homeland. This includes Kansas own 1st Infantry Division, or "The Big Red One," stationed at Fort Riley, which has been deployed to Fort Huachuca in Sierra Vista, Arizona.Recently, I traveled to the southern border alongside law enforcement officers from Kansas to personally thank these soldiers and all CBP officers for their service.BIDEN'S BORDER LEGACY: A FINANCIAL BURDEN THAT WILL LAST FOR YEARSWhat I saw was encouraging morale is high and there is a clear hop in their step. However, resources are stretched thin, and their work is far from over.A fullone-third of the camerasused by CBP to monitor the border are not working. While the administration has built nearly 80 miles of border wall, the CBP relies on these cameras to cover the areas that lack a wall. We need those cameras and a completed wall to ensure that no future president can throw open our border to the entire world ever again. CBP also patrols nearly 2,000 miles along the southern border much of it in hostile and difficult terrain. Yet, its vehicle fleet is simply not up to the task. Cartels are now trying to circumvent our closed land borders by smuggling drugsover the high seas. At the same time, the Coast Guard charged with securing our maritime border is facing itsgreatest readiness crisissince World War II.I REPRESENT A BORDER DISTRICT THAT WAS SWAMPED BY ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION. WHAT I'M SEEING NOW MIGHT SURPRISE YOUIts fleet of cutters is aging, a lack of manpower and funding causedsix stations to be shut down, and under Biden, it missed its recruitment goals for four straight years. Secretary Noem has stopped the bleeding, andnew recruits are flooding in, but only Congress can give the service what it needs to shut the cartels down once and for all.Under Biden, over 1.7 million illegal immigrants evaded Border Patrol. These are the worst of the worst: dangerous gang members, terrorists and violent criminals. ICE is quite literally so successful at arresting these criminals that they arerunning out of spaceto house them as they prepare them for removal. And, without sufficient ICE officers on the ground, we will never be able to fulfill President Trumps mandate to deport 1 million illegal aliens per year. Our brave men and women in law enforcement and the military need more funding, they need more materials and they need more personnel. Now that the House has passed the One Big, Beautiful Bill, we must step up and get it to President Trumps desk. Passing this bill is the only way we can ensure that our border stays secure. It will provide more than $46 billionto finish building the border wall and fix those broken cameras. It also appropriates $1 billion for CBP to replace its inadequate vehicle fleet. CLICK HERE TO GET THE OPINION NEWSLETTERThe Coast Guard will receive$21 billionto help it acquire new cutters, airframes and 15,000 new coasties. Every dollar spent will help them break up smuggling networks and keep fentanyl the deadly drug that has killed hundreds of thousands of Americans out of our communities. The bill will also provide ICE with the funding it needs to hire and train 10,000 new agents reinforcements that are much needed. ICE officers are facing down some of the worst criminals in our country every day, and they are facing a412% increase in assaults. Just the other week, an ICE officerwas injuredwhile arresting a criminal alien. ICE needs backup, and it needed it yesterday.Super Bowl-winning teams know that in the offseason, the work doesnt stop. New players must be drafted, trained and prepped for another championship run.We have bought ourselves a hard-earned reprieve, but the invasion may resume if we fail to capitalize on our success. The men and women out there, on the ground, are fighting the good fight. They have our backs every day. Now, we need to return the favor. It is the very least the Senate can do to give them the tools they need to win that fight. Pass the One Big, Beautiful Bill.CLICK HERE TO READ MORE FROM SEN. ROGER MARSHALL

Sanctuary cities forced to comply with federal immigration rules due to innovative program
Sanctuary cities runaround of the law may have finally come to an end, thanks to a creative program called Operation Guardian Angel.Launched by Bill Essayli, the new U.S. attorney for the Central District of California, this commonsense approach to force scofflawsanctuary citiesto cooperate withand stop obstructingfederal immigration authorities should be copied by U.S. attorneys around the nation to help rid the country of criminal illegal aliens being detained by local authorities. It's a no-brainer.'FLOOD THE SYSTEM': US ATTORNEY UNLEASHES NEW TASK FORCE TO CRACK DOWN ON BLUE STATE'S SANCTUARY POLICIESSanctuary Cities 101California has been a sanctuary state since 2018, when former Gov. Jerry Brown signed a law turning it into a sanctuary for criminal illegal aliens. But Californias move to create a safe haven for criminals started even earlier, at the local level. In 1979, Los Angeles Police Chief Daryl Gates implemented"Special Order 40,"which prohibited his police officers both from making contact with anyone for the sole purpose of learning their immigration status and from making arrests for violations of U.S. immigration law.In1985, San Franciscos then-mayor Dianne Feinstein signed legislation designating the city as a sanctuary for aliens whose asylum claims had been rejected by the federal government.In1989, San Francisco voters passed anordinanceextending that protection to all illegal aliens, prohibiting the citys police force from aiding federal immigration officers. In 2013, San Franciscans passed the "Due Process for All" ordinance, which limited when local law enforcement officers could give Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) advance notice of an illegal aliens release from a local jail and prohibited cooperation with ICE detainer warrants or requests. In 2016, San Franciscansamendedthe law again to impose even further restrictions on city employees that, in essence, ban any and all inquiries into the immigration status of any resident and prohibit any cooperation with federal officers.Sanctuary City Crime Hell HolesIs it any surprise that California as a whole and particularly its cities have become a magnet for illegal aliens? It shouldnt be.And is it any surprise when some of those illegal aliens commit additional crimes, including rape and murder?Sadly, no.But lawmakers and elected politicians there think it's better to endanger the safety of their constituents by releasing these criminals back into local communities rather than turning them over to the feds so they can be deported and returned to their native countries. This has consequences.TakeKate Steinle. She was murdered on Pier 14 in San Francisco by Jos Inez Garca Zrate, a career criminal with seven felony convictions and who had been deported five times. He had recently been released from local custody back out on the streets after San Francisco dropped drug charges that were pending against him and refused to cooperate with the immigration detainer ICE had filed against him.Californias brand of egregious sanctuary legislation explains how its possible for 250,000 illegal aliens to have a combined total of nearly 1.7 million arrests for three millionoffensescommitted on U.S. soil, as one 2011 study showed. Of course, those numbers have likely expanded exponentially after four years of Bidens open border policies with virtually no vetting.Just this week, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS)publisheda list of sanctuary jurisdictions across the country, including entire states, counties, and cities. That list includes a total of over560sanctuaries that releasethousandsof deportable criminal aliens every year.Between 2021 and 2024 alone,22,000illegal aliens were released from sanctuary city jails without notification to ICE. One of these released illegal aliens was Jose Antonio Ibarra, the Venezuelan man who brutally murdered Laken Riley in February of 2024. The 22-year-old nursing student was jogging on the University of Georgia campus when she was attacked by Ibarra.DNA evidence showed Rileyfoughtback against Ibarra, who was trying to rape her. After a struggle, Ibarrabashedher head in with a rock multiple times.Hercause of deathwas blunt force trauma and asphyxiation. But it was New Yorks sanctuary policy that allowed it to happen.Shortly before Lakens murder, Ibarra had been released from New York custody after being arrested on local charges, but ICE was not informed.Tragically, Laken and Kates stories are not unique. Every day, thousands of Americans are victimized by violent illegal aliens, who are escorted right past ICE and into our communities by the district attorneys of sanctuary cities. Flouting Federal LawLocal and state laws that claim sanctuary status directly violate federal law specifically,8 U.S.C. 1373, which bans local governments from preventing law enforcement from sharing information about the "citizen or immigration status, lawful or unlawful, of any individual."Laken Riley would be alive today had New Yorks rogue prosecutorAlvin Braggwaited until the DHS issued a detainer for Ibarra and then cooperated with DHS the way the law requires.Kate Steinles life would have been spared if San Francisco hadnt enacted a policy banning local police officers from notifying DHS when they arrest an illegal alien.A New Way ForwardFortunately, one U.S. attorney is finally fed up with his fellow Californians being slaughtered, assaulted, raped, and otherwise victimized by criminal illegals benefitting from the Golden States irresponsible policies.Operation Guardian Angel closes the loophole in sanctuary cities blatantly lawless schemes that allow them to simply ignore administrative ICE detainer warrants. How? Two words: judicial warrants.CLICK HERE FOR MORE FOX NEWS OPINIONU.S. Attorney Bill Essayli pulled together an all-star federaltaskforcecomprising agents from five federal law enforcement agenciesincluding ICE and the FBIall working out of an office in Los Angeles. When an illegal alien with a prior deportation is inevitably arrested, upon identification and booking into the local jail, the taskforce seeks afederalcriminal warrantsigned by a federal judgefor felony re-entry under8 USC 1326.By using available criminaldatabasesto find illegal aliens who were arrested and jailed the day before, the team quickly learns of each new offender. Then, a federal warrant is served on local officials, who obviously wont buck a federal judges warrant. That warrant requires local officials to hand over the illegal criminal alien to ICE. As Essayli said in oneinterview, "They have no choice; they will comply."And its already working. Operation Guardian AngelstartedMay 10th, and by the 15th, ICE agents had made 13 arrests. Once fully underway, the taskforceexpectsto make 40-50 arrests weekly, even despite the obstructionist sanctuary policies of the city and the state. There is no reason why every one of the 93 U.S. Attorneys offices shouldnt be copying Essaylis playbook. His simple, effective strategy returns to immigration law enforcement the power that his sanctuary state wrongfully stole.Operation Guardian Angel is a step in the right direction of recovering the Central District of California from the open border crisis, removing criminal illegal aliens, and restoring sanity in a state that has lost its way.

"This is a win not just for Yunseo and for the legions of people who stand up for Palestinians and oppose the daily atrocities in Gaza that our government underwrites, but also for freedom of speech and the rule of law in our country," Kassem said in a statement, per the Washington Post.It comes after the same judge in March ordered immigration officialsto cease their efforts to arrest Chung. The Trump administration has alleged that her participation in a protest poses a potentially serious adverse foreign policy consequence for the United States.COLUMBIA FACULTY HOLD 'EMERGENCY VIGIL' TO PROTEST UNIVERSITY RESPONSE TO TRUMPChungs attorneys say that the governments pursuit of the Columbia student is an "unjustifiable assault on [the] First Amendment." Chung sued the government earlier this year. The lawsuit states that Chung was a participant in theanti-Israel protests, not a leader, and was "one of a large group of college students" expressing "shared concerns" over the war in Gaza. Chung, according to the lawsuit, "visited" the Gaza Solidarity Encampment, a number of tents organized in the center of campus, but does not state whether she stayed there.
