Biden battling 'most aggressive type' of prostate cancer with bone metastasis, medical expert says
Former President Joe Biden was diagnosed with an "aggressive form" of prostate cancer that has a five-year survival rate of between 30% and 40%.The former president's prostate cancer is characterized by a Gleason score of 9 and Grade Group 5 with bone metastasis, indicating that it is "pretty far advanced," Fox News senior medical analyst Dr. Marc Siegel said on Fox Report."Its the most aggressive type," Siegel said. "That means it has the highest risk of spread which obviously he has had."Biden is also presenting with urinary symptoms, which is another sign that the cancer is advanced. Prostate cancer often presents as asymptomatic in its early stages, he said.JOE BIDEN DIAGNOSED WITH 'AGGRESSIVE FORM' OF PROSTATE CANCER WITH METASTASIS TO THE BONE"Thiswas found by physical examination by a prostate exam," Siegel said. "A lot of times we find an elevation in prostate-specific antigen, PSA, and then we go after it I mean, he must have had the best possible care here. I'm a little taken aback that it's this far advanced."Siegel said he conducts a prostate-specific antigen, or PSA, test on every male over the age of 45 years old. The test measures how much PSA is in the blood and is primarily used to screen for prostate cancer, according to Mayo Clinic.NEW PROSTATE CANCER TEST PINPOINTS DISEASE BETTER THAN PSA OPTION, STUDY FINDSWhile the PSA test is not always a perfect indicator of prostate cancer, someone who has a rise in PSA automatically gets an MRI, Siegel said. After the MRI, a decision is made about whether to conduct a biopsy.More than 80% of men over the age of 80 years old have some prostate cancer cells in their body, according to Siegel."It would be really surprising if they weren't doing a very close screening on this because everybody knows in the medical community that this is the one cancer in men you really look out for," he said. " He doesn't seem to have a lot of risk factors that I would think about other than age, but age is enough and he's 82, so that's a big risk factor."Doctors will likely treat Biden with hormone therapy, Siegel said. They may also attempt to radiate the lesion found on the bone or remove the prostate altogether.PROSTATE CANCER DRUG NOW AVAILABLE TO MORE PATIENTS WITH AGGRESSIVE FORM OF DISEASE"Sometimes they decide to do more than one therapy," Siegel said. "They might try to take the prostate out, do radiation and the hormone therapy altogether. That's not uncommon."There are two types of medications used to treat this type of advanced prostate cancer Lupron, which stops testosterone production, andCasodex, which stops testosterone from binding. Side effects of the medication can leave people feeling "fatigued and listless," according to Siegel."Theother thing I'm concerned about is bone pain, because those metastases to the bone can be pretty painful," he said.If the cancer is caught early while its still localized to the prostate gland, its curable "most of the time," Siegel said."The goal is to get it before it leaves the prostate," Siegel said. "When it's left the prostate, it becomes much more difficult to cure."

FBI bosses insist Jeffrey Epstein killed himself after reviewing his file
FBI Director Kash Patel and Deputy Director Dan Bongino insisted that disgraced financier and alleged sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein killed himself in his Manhattan jail cell in an exclusive interview with Fox News' Maria Bartiromo Sunday.Jeffrey Epstein was found dead in his cell at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in New York in August 2019. New York City's chief medical examiner ruled his death a suicide by hanging. He was set to stand trial on federal charges of sex trafficking of minors. His death instantly triggered a wave of conspiracy theories, with many speculating that he was murdered in order to protect the powerful figures who associated with him.Epstein was a known associate of former President Bill Clinton, former MIT Professor Noam Chomsky, and Prince Andrew. The phrase "Epstein didnt kill himself" became a viral internet meme in the wake of his death. Patel, however, was adamant that his death was indeed a suicide when questioned by Bartiromo."As someone who has worked as a public defender, as a prosecutor who's been in that prison system, who's been in the Metropolitan Detention Center, who's been in segregated housing, you know a suicide when you see one, and that's what that was," Patel said when questioned about Epstein's death. He added that those who disagree with him "have a right to their opinion."TOP EPSTEIN REVELATIONS OF 2024: BILL CLINTON'S WISH, THE 'LIST,' SECRET DOCS MADE PUBLIC"He killed himself," Bongino added, "Ive seen the whole file, he killed himself."Conservatives were livid in February after the Trump administrations Justice Department facilitated a release of documents related to the Epstein case that critics claimed had been "a complete disappointment." The documents did not include a so-called "client list," nor were there any new revelations regarding Epsteins alleged sex trafficking."I nor the task force were given or reviewed the Epstein documents being released today A NY Post story just revealed that the documents will simply be Epstein's phonebook, THIS IS NOT WHAT WE OR THE AMERICAN PEOPLE ASKED FOR and a complete disappointment. GET US THE INFORMATION WE ASKED FOR!" Rep. Anna Paulina Luna,R-Fla.,posted on X.JEFFREY EPSTEIN PAL PRINCE ANDREW SHOULD DISAPPEAR AFTER VIRGINIA GIUFFRE'S DEATH: EXPERTSAfter the blowback, Attorney General Pam Boni told Fox News Sean Hannity in March that the Justice Department had received "thousands of pages" of additional documents from the DOJ office in the Southern District of New York after she had given them a deadline to turn them over. Bondi claimed the DOJ had received a "truckload of evidence" and that a detailed report from the FBI was forthcoming. No report has been issued to date.Epstein and Prince Andrew accuser Virginia Giuffre died by suicide in April. Giuffre, 41, was one of the most prominent accusers to step forward and sued Prince Andrew in New York in 2021, claiming she was forced to have sex with him three times between 1999 and 2002. She claimed she was recruited by Epsteins then-girlfriend Ghislaine Maxwell when she was just sixteen years old.

Angel City's Savy King released from hospital 9 days after her on-field collapse
Angel City defender Savy King has been released from the hospital, just more than a week after she collapsed on the field during a match and needed surgery to treat a heart abnormality.King posted a photo of herself in the hospital holding a heart-shaped pillow and giving a thumbs up on social media Sunday."Im still finding the words to express just how much your love and support have meant to me over these past few days. What I do know is that I wouldnt be getting through this without my incredible family by my side, my amazing teammates who have shown up for me and prayed for me, the fans, the entire soccer community, and the outstanding medical team here at ACFC who saved my life and cared for me every step of the way," she wrote on the post. "I know Gods got me and Im looking forward to recovering and getting back out on the field!"Angel City issued a statement that said King had been released from the hospital the day before.King, 20, collapsed during the second half in a National Women's Soccer League match between Angel City and the visiting Utah Royal on May 9.She was treated on the field for more than 10 minutes before she was taken by ambulance to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. Once there, doctors discovered a heart abnormality and she underwent surgery on Tuesday. Her prognosis was good, the team said.Players and fans alike were shaken by the incident, but the match continued, a move that was widely criticized. The league later said it was reviewing its policies. The NWSL Players Association was among those that said the match should not have continued."These moments demand humanity, sound judgment, and restraint. Any medical emergency that requires the administration of life-saving care should bring play to an end. The match should not have continued," the NWSLPA said.On Friday, a league statement expressed regret for allowing the match to continue."The health and well being of the entire NWSL community remains our top priority, and in any similar situation going forward the game should and would be abandoned," said the statement.Angel City visited Bay FC in a match on Saturday night, the team's first since King's collapse. Before kickoff at San Jose's PayPal Park, both teams wore shirts with SK3 printed on the front as a tribute to King. Angel City captain Sarah Gorden also held up Kings jersey during the team photo.NWSL Commissioner Jessica Berman spoke to reporters at halftime."All we could do is learn from the experience and conclude that in a future situation, we will ensure that our policies and protocols do not allow the game to continue," she said in her first comments about King's collapse.King was the second-overall pick in the 2024 NWSL draft by expansion Bay FC and played 18 games for the club. She was traded to Angel City in February and had started in eight games for the team this season.Reporting by The Associated Press.Want great stories delivered right to your inbox?Create or log in to your FOX Sports account and follow leagues, teams and players to receive a personalized newsletter daily!
