WWW.FOXNEWS.COMScientists may have discovered why the pounds come back after losing weightMany factors lead to the frustrating cycle of weight gain and weight loss but the driving force may be fat cells keeping amemory of obesity.Thats according to a recent study that was first published in the journal Nature last fall.Researchers say that fat cells influence abnormal metabolic pathways in the body long after pounds are shed, which could make it more likely for people to regain weight.STUDY DIRECTLY COMPARES ZEPBOUND AND WEGOVY FOR WEIGHT-LOSS RESULTSThe team of Swiss scientists were curious whetherregaining weight after slimming down is due to "metabolic memory," where the body remembers and strives to return to its former state of obesity. They analyzed chemical markers on fat cells in mice who were fed a high-fat diet. Next, when the mice were fed only a standard meal, the researchers analyzed their fatty tissue after they had lost weight, according to the study write-up.The team then compared these samples to a lean mice group that was fed a standard meal to see if the chemical markers on the fat cells were associated with unhealthy changes in the body.DOCTORS WARN OF 'TRIFECTA' OF CHRONIC ILLNESSES PLAGUING AMERICANS AFTER MAHA REPORTThe mice on the high-fat diet continued to have unhealthy changes in their metabolism after losing weight, including more difficulty in regulating sugar metabolism, more inflammation and abnormal fat storage.Mice who were previously obese gained weight faster compared to the control group after they ate a high-fat diet suggesting a continued impairment in metabolism after losing weight, the researchers found. The study also looked at human samples, analyzing how the genes in fat cells can lead to unhealthy changes in the body as they did in mice. The researchers analyzed the fatty tissues of participants before and after they underwent bariatric surgery, comparing them to the fatty cells of lean individuals who did not have a history of obesity. In obese individuals, the genes from fat cells continued to function abnormally in the body, leading to more inflammation and metabolic problems two years after losing weight. One limitation of the studyis that it only looked at one type of cell fat cells. Moreresearch is needed to determinewhether other cells or tissues in the body also keep a memory of being overweight, the researchers acknowledged.Fat cells indeed have a memory of being obese, which can make it easier to regain weight and stay in a state that promotes inflammation and metabolic issues, confirmedGretchen Zimmermann, registered dietitian and vice president of clinical strategy atVida Health, a virtual obesity care provider. (She was not part of the study.)"This recent research suggests that after someone loses weight, their fat cells dont fully go back to 'normal," Zimmermann told Fox News Digital. But while biology plays a critical role in obesity, its not everything, she cautioned."A complex mix of genetics, biology, environment, psychology, medications and social determinants all shape obesity," Zimmermann said.Healthy habits can counteract the genetics that promote weight gain.Ideally, the expert said, this entails getting a combination of physical activity (including strength training), a sufficient amount of protein and fiber, and phytonutrients from plants that counter oxidative stress and chronic inflammation, according to Zimmermann."Keep moving, eating real food and building muscle," she said."These behaviors reduce inflammation, improve blood sugar control, contribute to a healthy microbiome and protect metabolism even if weight doesnt drop much or stays the same."For some, however, the underlying issue may lie in epigenetics, which involves how a persons behaviors and surrounding environment influence how genes work in the body, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR OUR HEALTH NEWSLETTER"Obesity is a chronic relapsing condition that has an epigenetic cause,"Dr. Caroline Apovian, professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School and co-director of the Center for Weight Management and Wellness at Brigham and Women's Hospital, told Fox News Digital. For more Health articles, visitwww.foxnews.com/healthPeople who are more prone to storing calories may have a harder time losing weight and keeping it off through diet and exercise, compared to those who may have an easier time, according to Apovian, who was not involved in the study.Fox News Digital reached out to the study authors for comment.0 Comments 0 Shares 60 Views 0 Reviews

WWW.FOXNEWS.COMCredibility crisis: Press dismissed Hur report on Biden's memory issues long before concerns became undeniableThe press spun, obfuscated and outright dismissed Special Counsel Robert Hurs early 2024 report that stated then-President Joe Biden came off as an elderly man with memory issues well before his declining state emerged as an acceptable topic in the legacy media.Hur, who was appointed by then-Attorney General Merrick Garland to investigate Biden's handling of classified documents, famously concluded he would not bring charges against the then-president, in part because a jury would find him to be a "sympathetic, well-meaning elderly man with a poor memory."A new book detailing the former president's mental acuity concerns while in office, his prostate cancer diagnosis and the recently-released audio recordings of Bidens interview with Hur reinvigorated the notion that mental acuity concerns were valid. But when the Hur report was initially released in February 2024, months prior to Bidens disastrous presidential debate performance, it made his cognitive decline impossible for the press to ignore, and much of the media rushed to Bidens defense.HUR TRANSCRIPT CONFIRMS BIDEN MEMORY LAPSES, CONTRADICTS PRESIDENT'S CLAIM ABOUT EXCHANGE OVER SON'S DEATHHur acknowledged the documents were "willfully" obtained by Biden both as vice president and as a senator, but revealed Biden had a "hazy" memory of when he was previously in office and when his son Beau died.Liberal pundits were often in lockstep to insist the report featured "gratuitous" language or was "editorialized," and Biden attacked reporters who dared to question if he was fit for the job at a last-minute White House press conference following the release of the damning report. Some reporters in the room vexed Biden by asking about his memory and concerns about his age, but left-leaning pundits were in damage-control mode.Jim Acosta, at the time an anchor for CNN, wondered aloud if Hurs assessment was "out of bounds," while CNN commentator Paul Begala peddled claims from Biden officials saying the president was "totally focused" and "very sharp."Jeffrey Toobin appeared on CNN to scold Hur for making "unnecessary points" about Bidens advanced age."Part of that report was an outrage, it was a disgrace. I mean, the idea that they that he would make such a big point of Biden being elderly is not something a prosecutor needed to do," Toobin said.AXIOS REPORTER PUSHES BACK ON BIDEN'S DENIAL OF MENTAL DECLINE, SAYING WHITE HOUSE INSIDERS DISAGREEA panel of MSNBC hosts defended Biden by attacking Hur for injecting "ageism" into his report."Do you want to get into the age thing? Let's call it what it is. This is ageism snuck into a report clearing the person of any wrongdoing," MSNBC host Ari Melber told viewers during the network's primetime coverage of the breaking news."If you want to get the ageism, young people are told all the time by their lawyers, 'Hey, you're way better off leaning into I don't recall than possibly misstating something to a federal officer or under oath in this case.' So it's a lot of derogatory stuff," Melber continued. "And I do think, and I want to be clear, a credit to the president that he chose to do fast cooperation. I think that's good for the system. Politically, though, it's now being used against him."His MSNBC colleague Chris Hayes insisted Hur was "frustrated and angry" that he "didn't get more" from his probe into Biden, turning to how age is the "central narrative question here that this all revolves around.""Age is not something you can rebut," Hayes said. "The man is 80 years old He is the age he is, And so it's a very useful political attack for them.""He rides a bike!" hostRachel Maddowinterjected.MSNBC host Katie Phang slammed the "inflammatory, unnecessary and partisan" language used in the report, while network contributor Molly Jong-Fast suggested Hur wasn't a "good faith actor.""Hes not a neurologist," Jong-Fast said.CREDIBILITY CRISIS: WHITE HOUSE REPORTERS SPEAK OUT ON WHETHER BIDEN'S MENTAL DECLINE WAS DELIBERATELY HIDDENPod Save America co-host Dan Pfeiffercomplained at the timethat the Hur report was a "partisan hit job." CNN's media reporter at the time, Oliver Darcy, insisted that Hur's depiction of Biden's mental state "didnt match reality."The New York Times went with the "Republicans pounce" framing when covering Biden's reported memory issues and ex-MSNBC host Keith Olbermann raged that Hur "should be fired immediately" for offering an "amateur medical opinion."The media lined up high-profile Democrats to defend Biden, too.Then-Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas appeared on NBCs "Meet the Press" to bash the report as "gratuitous, unnecessary and inaccurate personal remarks."FOX NEWS' PETER DOOCY REVEALS HISTORY OF QUESTIONING BIDEN'S MENTAL FITNESSMSNBCs Jen Psaki, a former Biden press secretary, invited then-Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif.,onto her program to say Hur would be "disciplined or fired" if he were a typical prosecutor."What he did was quite deliberate and destructive and also just plain false," Schiff said as Psaki nodded along.Rep.Dan Goldman, D-N.Y., said on CNN, "It was extremely gratuitous, unnecessary and just a political potshot."Journalist Drew Holden posted a lengthy social media thread last week detailing other examples of the media attacking Hurs report, including then-NBC News host Chuck Todd telling viewers it played into the "right-wing noise machine" and USA Today rounding up "sympathetic voices" to dismiss the findings.Holden also put a spotlight on The Washington Post, citing experts who insisted memory losses "are surprisingly normal" and a New York Times report that said Biden appeared "clearheaded" aside from fumbling a few dates.CNN HOST SUGGESTS ROBERT HUR 'UNDERSOLD' EXTENT OF BIDEN MEMORY LAPSES DURING SPECIAL COUNSEL INTERVIEWMany longtime Biden allies have since come around after audio obtained by Axios contained clips from several interviewsbetween Biden and Hur related to the probe. On CNN, host Abby Phillip suggested Hur "undersold" the extent ofBidens decline and threw the former president and the Democratic Party "a lifeline.""In a way, Robert Hur kind of undersold this," Phillip said. "He kind of threw Joe Biden a lifeline. It was an opportunity, actually, for Democrats to take it seriously, maybe change gears at that point, maybe give a potential nominee more time."Former Obama spokesperson and political commentator Tommy Vietor wrote last week that critics of Hurs report "werent totally fair.""[T]he book made me realize how important that context was for Hur in explaining his decision NOT to charge Biden, and I now feel that many of the attacks on Hur, including by me, werent totally fair," Vietor wrote. He added that he still believed the situation around Bidens memory was "complicated" but that "clearly Biden was experiencing cognitive decline.""The just-released audio clearly shows a guy who should not be running for reelection," Vietor wrote.CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APPFox News Digitals Lindsay Kornick and Hanna Panreck contributed to this report.0 Comments 0 Shares 57 Views 0 Reviews

WWW.FOXNEWS.COMDiddy ex-assistant Capricorn Clark delivers 'most explosive' testimony yet in rapper's federal trial: expertCapricorn Clark testified Tuesday in Sean "Diddy" Combs' federal trial that the Bad Boy Records founder allegedly threatened to kill her while she was employed as his assistant. On her first day of working for Diddy in 2004, she claimed the "Last Night" rapper took her on a walk through Central Park at around 9 p.m. Diddy allegedly discovered Capricorn had previously worked at Death Row Records with his rival, Suge Knight, and told her that if anything happened, he would have to kill her.Capricorn also testified that she was allegedly forced to take a five-day lie detector test after a bag of jewelry went missing. She told the court that in December 2011, Diddy allegedly showed up at her apartment with a gun and orders to get dressed because they were going to "kill" Cassie Ventura's then-boyfriend, Kid Cudi.Former federal prosecutor Neama Rahmani told Fox News Digital that, as the third assistant witness to testify, Capricorn's testimony "was the most explosive" thus far in the trial.USHER, OBAMA NAME-DROPPED IN DIDDY'S TRIAL AS SEX TRAFFICKING CASE HEATS UP"When Combs found out that she previously worked for Suge Knight and Death Row, on her first day, Combs said that if anything happened, he would kill her. This was the beginning of criminal threats and other violent activity," Rahmani said.DIDDY'S ATTORNEYS ATTEMPT TO AVOID FEDERAL CHARGES BY ACKNOWLEDGING DOMESTIC VIOLENCE: EXPERT"Combs accused Clark of stealing diamond jewelry. His security locked her in an office and administered a lie detector test. They told her that if she failed, they would throw her in the East River. They took her to the same office and questioned her with a lie detector for five days straight.Thats kidnapping and a racketeering act."Rahmani added that Clark's claims of having to procure illegal and prescription drugs for her former boss in prescriptions made in her name is considered "drug trafficking and another RICO predicate."WATCH ON FOX NATION: WHAT DIDDY DO?Still, Rahmani said the defense "scored some points on cross-examination" when Capricorn's settlement for wrongful termination was addressed in court.Additionally,Capricorn admitted that she had a crush on Diddy in text messages, and that she met with Combs in August to try to rejoin his team as his chief of staff."Clark was represented by Bryan Freedman, Justin Baldonis lawyer, and in that meeting, she said that Diddy wouldnt be in this mess if he had kept her around and that Ventura wasnt good for Combs,"Rahmani said. "The defense is arguing that Clark is a disgruntled former employee who wants money and revenge, and who is jealous of Ventura."Los Angeles litigator John J. Perlstein told Fox News Digital that Capricorn's testimony followed a pattern of "universally established malicious conduct," which could be very damaging to Diddy.LIKE WHAT YOURE READING? CLICK HERE FOR MORE ENTERTAINMENT NEWS"Ms. Clarks testimony corroborates the beatings and Diddys history of violence towards many, especially women, further supporting the racketeering charges being levied against him," Perlstein said. "Ms. Clarks testimony came across very well and will undoubtedly be valuable to the prosecutions case and damaging to the defendants."Julia Jayne, criminal defense lawyer at Jayne Law Group, explained that Capricorn became an important witness for the prosecution due to her proximity to Diddy.CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR THE ENTERTAINMENT NEWSLETTER"Her testimonycancertainly corroborate certain allegations, but it is unclear whether it will advance the racketeering theory, since the defense is apparently not denying domestic violence conduct by Diddy," Jayne told Fox News Digital."The defense was also able to point out some inconsistencies, which is to be expected on cross-examination. Overall, at a minimum, if she presents as credible, the jury will have a more robust picture of Diddy's behavior, attitude and alleged vindictiveness and aggression."In a federal indictment unsealed on Sept. 17, Diddy was charged with racketeering conspiracy (RICO); sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion; and transportation to engage in prostitution. If found guilty, he faces a minimum of 15 years behind bars or a maximum sentence of life in prison. He has maintained his innocence.Testimony in the Bad Boy Records founder's trial began May 12, and jurors heard from his ex-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, Regina Ventura, Cassie's mother, and former best friend Kerry Morgan. On Thursday, the jury heard from rapper Kid Cudi, who testified that he had a romantic relationship with Diddy's ex, Cassie, in 2011. Kid Cudi testified that when Diddy found out about the relationship, he broke into the musician's home and later allegedly set fire to his car. However, there was no definitive evidence to prove Kid Cudi's claims.0 Comments 0 Shares 58 Views 0 Reviews

WWW.FOXNEWS.COMSEN. RAND PAUL: Kennedy is confronting 'corrupt' health agencies to Make America Healthy AgainRecently, the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) Committee held a hearing with Health and Human Services Secretary Robert Kennedy. Lets just say there was no shortage of spirited debate between Kennedy and my Democratic colleagues.Kennedy is leading a bold effort across his agency and others in the healthcare sphere of the administration what he calls "MAHA" short for "Make America Healthy Again." I am a strong supporter of Kennedy and his MAHA efforts. So are a vast majority of Americans. Why? Because Kennedy, like myself, has seen the problem plainly: our federal health agencies the FDA, CDC, NIH and HHS have become too cozy with the industries they are supposed to regulate, too resistant to new ideas and too buried in their own bureaucratic bloat. DOCTORS WARN OF 'TRIFECTA' OF CHRONIC ILLNESSES PLAGUING AMERICANS AFTER MAHA REPORTInstead of protecting public health, they have helped usher in an epidemic of obesity, chronic illness, mental health issues and disease. Government failure in this arena shouldnt shock anyone its the usual cocktail of corruption, complacency, greed and incompetence. In a House hearing, one Democrat member challenged Kennedys record and accomplishments in his short tenure at HHS. Kennedys reply? "Youve worked for 20 years on getting food dye out. Give me credit, I got it done in 100 days!" and without any new government regulations. That kind of decisive action is exactly what we need to improve the health of Americans.I bring this up to say that Im pleased with both the breadth and the speed with which HHS and other agencies under MAHA are moving to change things. MAHA is reexamining the childhood vaccine schedule, scrutinizing food additives and advancing a range of reforms that may seem small individually but together add up to meaningful improvements in the health of all Americans.MAKE AMERICA HEALTHY AGAIN: TIMELINE OF THE MAHA MOVEMENTWhats most notable about this movement is how it brought together three somewhat distinct groups for change against an entrenched establishment.Kennedy, once a Democrat, galvanized support from left of center. Libertarians, whove long fought for medical and food freedom, have joined as well.Lastly, MAHA was embraced by President Donald Trump in his campaign. Together, these three groups are charting a new course.FDA'S LATEST MAHA MOVE WOULD WIPE OUT KIDS' FLUORIDE PRESCRIPTIONS AS HEALTH RISK EVIDENCE MOUNTSNo prior administration has ever dared to confront Big Pharma head on like this not rhetorically, not legislative, not structurally, and no other administration has ever empowered its agencies to do so. Thats now changing. This is what real leadership looks like. The bully pulpit being used to great effect. We are seeing companies across America phase out harmful chemicals from things like fast food fries and replacing them with healthy beef tallow. Others are voluntarily swapping artificial dyes and sugars for healthier, more natural ingredients for their products.CLICK HERE FOR MORE FOX NEWS OPINIONBut the bully pulpit has to be matched with true regulatory reform, legislative victories and a coordinated team effort in order to make real, lasting change.RFK JR'S HEALTH AGENDA GAINS POPULARITY AMONG STATE LAWMAKERSOne lesson we must never forget and cant ever let happen again is the authoritarian way our government responded to COVID-19. From vaccine mandates, forced masking and mask misinformation, to business closures and failed virtual learning, the government massively mishandled the pandemic.Dr. Anthony Fauci, public health agencies, and school boards alike failed the American people.Thats why Im most grateful to be working with President Trump, Secretary Kennedy and a host of others in the administration to dig up what was hidden, to find what was never produced previously. What exactly went wrong and who was responsible? We will continue to get to the bottom of it, but even in a short time, we have already banned gain-of-function research and restored congressional oversight of how scientific funding and studies are allocated. There is still a lot of work left to do, but the progress so far has been both swift and substantive. I look forward to continuing this vital work in partnership with the Trump administration and putting the health and freedom of the American people ahead of bureaucratic power and special interests.CLICK HERE TO READ MORE FROM SEN. WWW.FOXNEWS.COMBrown University clears student of wrongdoing after he sent campus employees DOGE-like emailBrown University has cleared student AlexShieh as well as the board of The Brown Spectator of allegations that they violatedBrown Universitys name, licensing, and trademark policies."Elite academia is in crisis because of a refusal to accommodate ordinary Americans and an unaccountable class of bureaucrats who treat universities as corporate brands rather than institutions of learning,"Shieh told Fox News Digital in a statement. "I think we need to rethink what it means to be elite. Today, elite schools are elitist. Im fighting for them to be elite in a meritocratic sense, where they are filled with the best and the brightest, not the richest and most well-connected."Shieh, a rising junior who was cleared of wrongdoing by the university on May 14, 2025, had previously angered school officials by sending aDOGE-like email to non-faculty employees identifying himself as a journalist forThe Brown Spectator and asking them what they do all day to try to determine why the school's tuition has gotten so expensive.BROWN UNIVERSITY STUDENT WHO ANGERED NON-FACULTY EMPLOYEES FOR DOGE-LIKE EMAIL FACES PUNISHMENT FROM SCHOOLThe Brown Spectator, which has a board of three people, including Shieh, was revived this year after it ceased publication in 2014.The board members faced a disciplinary hearing on May 7 over allegations that they violatedBrown Universitys name, licensing and trademark policies.Shieh told Fox News Digital that other campus publications also use the schools name, including "The Brown Daily Herald," another student-run nonprofit newspaper.Shieh and the Spectator faced scrutiny from the university after Shieh began investigating positions he deemed redundant after reviewing 3,805 non-faculty employees who worked at Brown and emailing them to ask, "What do you do all day?"In March, during free weekends, Shieh used AI to try to determine what Brown employees did and why the school, which costs nearly$96,000 a year, was so expensive. When creating his database, he formatted it to identify three particular jobs:"DEI jobs, redundant jobs, and bulls--t jobs."Shieh said he wanted to investigate DEI because of PresidentDonald Trump's executive orders addressing DEI policies, and his administration threatening to withhold federal funds to universities who employ them. The goal was to get as much data as possible to improve his research.Only 20 of the 3,805 people emailed responded, and many of the responses were profane and hostile.IVY LEAGUE STUDENT ACCUSED OF CAUSING 'EMOTIONAL HARM' TO NON-FACULTY STAFF FOR SENDING DOGE-LIKE EMAILOn Tuesday, Shieh senta follow-up email, featured below, to Brown administrators which Shieh said was "one last opportunity to justify their roles":Dear {recipient_name},Im a reporter for the Brown Spectator, and on June 4, I will testify before Congress regarding potential antitrust violations at Brown, including price-fixing and unlawful tying arrangements, driven by Browns unsustainable growth in non-academic staffing and putting the cost of the American Dream out of reach for countless students who deserve a fair shot.As part of my testimony, I will submit a list of Brown employees whose positions appear potentially redundant, unnecessary, or in violation of federal civil rights laws, to be preserved permanently in the Congressional Record. In the interest of fairness and accuracy, I am offering you a second opportunity to explain your role to Brown students and the American public. Please respond to the following:1. What are your primary responsibilities?2. What tasks did you complete in the past 7 days?3. How would Brown students be affected if your position were eliminated? Those unable or unwilling to describe their job will be noted as such in the Congressional Record, and their roles will be evaluated without the benefit of their input.Responses received by Wednesday, May 28 at 5:00 PM will be carefully considered before final materials are submitted to Congress. Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.CLICK HERE FOR MORE COVERAGE OF MEDIA AND CULTUREIn a statement to Fox News Digital, Shieh said, "Todays follow-up email is about accountability. If Brown University can charge families $93,000 a year, it should at least be able to explain what its administrators do all day. This inquiry is a moral stand against the corruption of the American Dream by bloated, unaccountable bureaucracies that put diversity statements above student success."He is scheduled to testify on June 4 before the House Judiciary Committees Subcommittee on the Administrative State, Regulatory Reform, and Antitrust for a hearing entitled, "The Elite Universities Cartel: A History of Anticompetitive Collusion Inflating the Cost of Higher Education.""Brown may be attempting to hide antitrust violations that the House Judiciary Committee is seeking to uncover," Shieh told Fox News Digital. "Brown had to settle a federal lawsuit last year related to illegal collusion in its financial aid packages, and this issue should be looked into further by the committee."In a statement to Fox News Digital, Brian E. Clark, vice president for news and strategic campus communications at Brown University, said that Shiehs case was not about First Amendment issues."Despite continued public reporting framing this as a free speech issue, it absolutely is not," Clark said. "Since the initiation of Browns review, that review has centered on investigating whether improper use of non-public Brown data or non-public data systems violated law or policy; whether deliberate targeting of individual employees violated law or policy; and whether violations to Browns misrepresentation or name use policies took place."Clark added that the university "has detailedstudent conduct procedures in place to investigate alleged conduct code violations, resolve them and in instances when students are found responsible implement discipline. They are publicly available and outline in detail how disciplinary procedures and hearings are conducted, the rights and responsibilities students have, what outcomes might be expected, and how students can appeal decisions."He also said their "Student Conduct Procedures" have "guided our actions since this issue originated. Students have ample opportunity to provide information and participate directly in that process to ensure that all decisions are made with a complete understanding of circumstances. As Browns procedures make abundantly clear, students are not presumed to be responsible for alleged violations unless so found through the appropriate conduct proceedings."Clark added that "Since the start of this matter, Brown has proceeded in complete accordance with free expression guarantees and appropriate procedural safeguards under University policies and applicable law."0 Comments 0 Shares 54 Views 0 Reviews

WWW.FOXNEWS.COMLIZ PEEK: Conservative women scare Democrats like Hillary Clinton for good reasonWhy do liberals like Hillary Clinton despise conservative women? Is it because we dont obey the media and academia puppeteers who demand we vote for Democrats? Is it because we do not necessarily think that abortion is the only issue of importance, and that perhaps national security, a sound economy and safe streets are equally critical?Or are they just jealous of people ready to compete on their own, without the safety net of DEI, even if they have two X chromosomes? Whatever the cause, attacks on Republican women, and especially those who voted for Donald Trump, have become especially nasty. Consider, for instance, the New York Times fashion section. A reader recently wrote to Vanessa Friedman, self-appointed fashion guru and notorious Trump hater, asking, "Can I Wear a Sheath Dress Without Looking Like a MAGA Woman?"HILLARY CLINTON BASHES REPUBLICAN WOMEN, SAYS GOP FEMALE PRESIDENT WOULD BE 'HANDMAIDEN TO THE PATRIARCHY'Friedman replied with a catty description of MAGA style as a "cross between a Fox newscaster and Miss Universe" that "underscores an almost cartoonish femininity that speaks to a relatively old-fashioned gender stereotype." And yes, a sheath dress is part of the "look."If you insist on wearing a simple, convenient (and attractive) sheath dress, says the fashion critic, you can avoid looking MAGA by keeping "your hair natural or messy." She continues, "Keep your makeup minimal and your heels low. Maybe wear boots or even flats or sneakers instead of pumps" In other words, dont go for attractive, or feminine, because you might end up wearing your "politics on [your] sleeve," and looking like an "A.I.-generated member of a crowd."Friedman is no newcomer to Trump Derangement Syndrome or hating on conservative women. In 2016, she wrote a plaintive article bemoaning Hillary Clintons loss to the newly-elected Donald Trump, saying fashion designers had so been looking forward to dressing the former Secretary of State (and presumably dismayed they were left with gorgeous ex-fashion model Melania.) She gushed over Clintons ubiquitous shapeless pants suits, while fretting that Melanias clothes appeared "bought off the rack"; the horror! In the Times theater of the absurd, Friedman plays court jester. Of course, the style critic plays to a crowd that cannot define what a woman is; how in the world would they know how to dress one?Friedman is not the only Mean Girl. Not long ago, Hillary Clinton was asked at a "conversation," at New Yorks 92nd Street Y, what advice she might give to the first woman to become president of the U.S.HILLARY CLINTON IS BACK AND DOING WHAT SHE DOES BEST -- TRASHING WOMENClinton paused, and then answered, "Well, first of all, dont be a handmaiden to the patriarchy, which kind of eliminates every woman on the other side of the aisle, except for very few."Get it? Democrat women are powerful warriors, fending for themselves and not bowing to the "patriarchy," while Republican women are mere handmaidens, meekly bearing children and serving their dictatorial toxically masculine husbands.Considering that Hillary Clinton climbed to national prominence on the back of her husband Bill Clintons political career, cynically stood by him despite numerous affairs and credible accusations of rape, it was a remarkably un-self-aware remark. It reminds us of Mark Cubans equally insulting slap at GOP women, when he told the loony hosts of "The View" last year that former President Donald Trump is "never" around any "strong and intelligent women."He went on to say, "Theyre intimidating to [Trump]. He doesnt like to be challenged by them. Nikki Haley will call him on his nonsense with reproductive rights and how he sees and treats and talks about women. I mean, he just cant have her around."It was an extraordinarily idiotic comment from Cuban. He must have forgotten that Trump picked Haley to be his ambassador to the UN and that he was also the first-ever candidate to have a woman Kellyanne Conway -- run his campaign. And, one of the first to employ a female press secretary. Id love to have Cuban sit down with Susie Wiles, Pam Bondi, Kristi Noem and Alina Habba and repeat those remarks; he might want to bring protection.CLICK HERE FOR MORE FOX NEWS OPINIONGOP women shake Democrat rafters in the same way that conservative Blacks or Hispanics do; they are terrified that these groups will begin to question their allegiance to liberal orthodoxy. If they do, the Democratic Party is toast. In a recent podcast, former Obama adviser Dan Pfeiffer warned that Democrats loss of Hispanic voters over recent election cycles could doom the party. In 2016, he noted, Hillary Clinton won over 70% of the Hispanic vote; last year, Kamala Harris bested Trump with a much narrower margin, receiving 56% of that groups vote. Harris eked out the win, but the slide in Latino support is worrisome for a political party dependent on women and minorities. In 2024, Democrats slippage with Black and Hispanic voters was nearly plugged by the so-called gender gap, with roughly 55% of women turning out for Harris and 45% voting for Trump. Men were on the flip side. Since 1996, women have preferred Democrat candidates; the gender gap has ranged from 7 to 12 points; in the last election it ticked down. Interestingly, the gap prevailed long before abortion was on the ballot.Imagine the alarm bells that would sound if women began turning away from the increasingly left-wing Democrats. As more women enter the workforce, they may rebel over Democrats insistence on ever-higher taxes and begin to focus more on economic issues.Last year, a month before the election, a KFF survey found inflation the most pressing concern for women; abortion tied with immigration as number three.Another problem for Democrats: young mothers are increasingly paying attention to Robert F. Kennedy Jr.s MAHA initiatives. They dont want their babies eating carcinogenic food dyes or filling up with microplastics. Kennedys assault on Big Food may turn out to be the Trump administrations most successful outreach to women yet. CLICK HERE TO READ MORE FROM LIZ PEEK0 Comments 0 Shares 53 Views 0 Reviews

WWW.FOXNEWS.COMGovernment's crackdown on Mahmoud Khalil's pro-Palestinian free speech threatens First Amendment protectionsFor over two months, the government has been targeting international students and scholars for arrest, detention and deportation based on their political views. Mahmoud Khalil, a green card holder and prominent advocate for Palestinian rights at Columbia University, was the first of these. He was taken from his home and detained 1,500 miles away from his family. He has been in detention since early March and was forced to miss the birth of his first child, solely because of his political beliefs. He isnt the only one. Other students and scholars, like Rumeysa Ozturk, Mohsen Mahdawi, and Dr. Badar Khan Suri, have been arrested and detained, despite having committed no crime and having valid immigration status. This attempt by the government to suppress dissenting opinions is unconstitutional, and if it succeeds in court, it sets a troubling precedent that will impact all of us, citizens and noncitizens alike. But the First Amendment exists precisely to stop the government from punishing people for their political views.FEDERAL JUDGE ORDERS TRUMP ADMINISTRATION TO TRACK DEPORTED IMMIGRANTS TO SOUTH SUDANTo justify this brazen attack on free speech, the government is citing the Immigration and Nationality Acts "Foreign Policy Ground." The law states that a noncitizen is deportable if the Secretary of State believes their "presence or activities" in the country would have "potentially serious foreign policy consequences for the United States."But it explicitly prohibits deportation because of someones views and associations, except in extreme cases such as those involving high-level foreign officials, and Congress made clear that "this authority would be used sparingly and not merely because there is a likelihood that an alien will make critical remarks about the United States or its policies."This law is almost never invoked. In its court filings, the government has identified only five previous instances in which it has been used to remove noncitizens over the past three decades. In all that time, the law has never been cited to detain or deport anyone for their political beliefs until it was used against Khalil.LAWYERS FOR COLUMBIA ANTI-ISRAEL ACTIVIST MAHMOUD KHALIL BLAST RUBIO EVIDENCE LETTER: 'TWO PAGES, THAT'S IT'Since then, the government has used it to argue that it has unlimited discretion to detain and deport any noncitizen whom the government considers a foreign policy risk for any reason and that the courts are powerless to review its decisions, even if they violate the First Amendment. In Khalil's case, and several others, the only evidence the government has cited in support of its foreign policy claims is constitutionally protected speech about Israel and Palestine.According to Deputy DHS Secretary Troy Edgar, Khalil was targeted for "put[ting] himself in the middle of the process of basically pro-Palestinian activity." When asked if "any criticism of the Israeli government," "any criticism of the United States," "any criticism of the government" or "protesting" are deportable offenses, Mr. Edgar did not provide a direct answer. Instead, he stated if Mr. Khalil admitted an intention to "go and protest" when he had initially applied for a student visa, "we would have never let him into the country."CLICK HERE FOR MORE FOX NEWS OPINIONSimilarly, Ozturks student visa was targeted because government officials didnt like the op-ed she co-wrote in the Tufts University student newspaper. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said this kind of advocacy was "creating a ruckus" that justified her removal from the country. And so, after her visa was secretly revoked, she was snatched off the streets of Somerville, Mass., by masked, plainclothes ICE agents, transported across multiple states overnight, and thrown into a detention facility in Louisiana where she remained for six weeks until another court ordered her release.TUFTS UNIVERSITY STUDENT ARREST: TOP DEMS WANT ANSWERS FROM NOEM, RUBIO, ICE ON 'DEEPLY TROUBLING' INCIDENTThe government has tried to undermine the Constitution in these cases by arguing that the First Amendment does not apply to noncitizens, but thats just wrong. The Supreme Court recognized 80 years ago that "freedom of speech and of press is accorded aliens residing in this country." That freedom protects all of us citizens and noncitizens alike from government officials who would abuse their power to suppress criticism.Fortunately, the federal courts are beginning to stand up to these flagrant First Amendment violations. Mohsen Mahdawi, Rumeysa Ozturk, and Badar Khan Suri have all been released on bail while their cases proceed. As the federal court in Mahdawis case recognized when it ordered his release, it is "extraordinary" that "[l]egal residentsnot charged with crimes or misconductare being arrested and threatened with deportation for stating their views on the political issues of the day."However, Mahmoud Khalil is still being held in Louisiana, far away from his wife and newborn son, as his request for release remains pending. Regardless of what you think about Israel or Palestine, we should all defend our First Amendment right to free speech. Because if freedom of speech means anything, it means the government cant arrest you, detain you for weeks or months on end, and remove you from the country just because it doesnt like what you have to say.0 Comments 0 Shares 58 Views 0 Reviews

We take note that the IIHF has confirmed that it will follow this recommendation."Speaking on the final day of the IIHF World Championship over the weekend, Tardif was asked about the possibility of Russian athletes competing in the upcoming Winter Games. He said that while a final decision had not been made, the belief was that the IOC would continue to uphold its ban.OLYMPIC ICON MARY LOU RETTON WAS DRIVING 'ALL OVER THE ROADWAY' BEFORE SUSPECTED DUI ARREST, POLICE SAY"Recently they asked us to send them a schedule without Russia, so thats where we are," Tardif said, viaTheHockeyNews.com. "The official statement is pending, but the IOC has told us that they are informing the Russian Olympic Committee that they are not participating in the Olympics."The ban was put into place following the full military invasion of Ukraine which started in February 2022, four days after the Beijing Winter Games closed. WWW.FOXNEWS.COMAmerican-born Team Israel Olympian praises Trump's fight vs antisemitism, but won't play for Team USATeam Israel Olympic bobsledder Adam Edelman is looking to lead his team back to the Winter Games for the first time since Pyeongchang in 2018.If they qualify for Cortina-Milan next year, it would mark his and his teammates' return to the Olympics after failing to qualify for Beijing in 2022. It would also mark their first trip back to the Winter Games since their country was attacked by Hamas on Oct. 7, 2023."We were blessed to have a team ready to go on October 7 and when October 7 came, when it was perpetrated on Israel, every one of them had to be called to war. So it really changed the dynamic of the team over the last couple years," Edelman told Fox News Digital."The goal of the team after October 7 was to exist."CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COMEdelman recalled his team adjusting to a new starter in every competition it participated in, for a time. All the while, he has had to live below the poverty line in order to maintain his commitment to leading the team for the last 12 years. He even says he had to sell all of his bitcoin, which he says would have been worth millions today if he held onto it."It was all spent on bobsledding," he said. "I'd be a mega-millionaire if I still had it."Edelman admits could have made things much easier for himself if he, a Massachusetts native and MIT grad, competed for Team USA instead of Israel. In a sport that is so resource-dependent like bobsledding, nicknamed F1 on ice due to its hefty costs to be competitive, Edelman knows he would have had access to more resources for coaching, training, equipment and marketing. However, for him, that would have defeated the point of competing as an Olympian at all."I don't add anything to the United States. If I were to join the United States, the only value that would have been added is to my own journey, but it makes my journey non-additive to other people's journeys," Edelman said."My value to the world, and why God put me on this Earth, I genuinely feel is to use the skills that he gave me to impact others positively so I'm solely motivated to represent Israel. I've thought about this a lot."FLASHBACK: ISRAELI SOCCER FANS TARGETED IN WAVE OF VIOLENCE IN AMSTERDAMStill, Edelman is a proud American and believes that the U.S. is "the greatest country to ever exist in the history of mankind."Additionally, as a Jewish American, Edelman has also taken pride in seeing President Donald Trump crack down on the wave of antisemitism that has erupted in the aftermath of Oct. 7. Edelman said he saw the antisemitism up-close when he went to Columbia during its pro-Palestinian protests in 2024.Trump's administration has frozen billions of dollars to Ivy League universities Columbia and Harvard, declaring the schools violated Jewish students' civil rights by enabling antisemitic campus protests amid the Israel-Gaza conflict over the last year and a half.HARVARD WON'T COMPLY WITH TRUMP ADMIN'S DEMANDS AMID THREATS OF CUTTING FEDERAL FUNDINGThe president has even launched a specialized Justice Department task force fronted by Leo Terrell to tackle the issue."The appropriateness of what the Trump administration has asked for is just enforcing the law. It's just saying hey, these people are protected under the civil rights act' and youre blatantly not enforcing the civil rights act. If people take over, trespass, assault security guards on your campus, harass Jews on the way to class, set up Jew-free zones, you wouldn't tolerate that for another group," Edelman said. The Trump administration also announced earlier in April that it would halt more than $1 billion in funding for Cornell University and approximately $790 million for Northwestern University amid investigations into alleged civil rights violations.Roughly $510 million in funds for Brown University could also be on the chopping block, a White House official told The Associated Press April 3, due to allegations of antisemitism at the school."I think the way that the Trump administration has approached many issues since he came to office is exactly the right way," Edelman said."Some policies are good, some policies are bad, and this is an inexplicably good policy. Make sure that American institutions of higher education do not continue this pathway to being so inaccessible to Americans, but also indoctrination centers of anti-American values."As Edelman looks to push his team back to the Winter Olympics in Cortina Milan in 2026, he aspires to be a voice for Americans and Jews in a complicated time in history. He hopes the rest of the story can appreciate the underdog story that he and his teammates are sledding through.Follow Fox News Digitalssports coverage on X, and subscribe to the Fox News Sports Huddle newsletter.0 Comments 0 Shares 40 Views 0 Reviews
