Massive DHS raid hits Georgia Hyundai factory that Biden touted as major victory for 'new American jobs'
The Hyundai facility currently under construction near Savannah, Georgia, that was just the subject of a massive immigration raid, was previously touted by former President Joe Biden and other politicians as a win for manufacturing jobs in the United States.Homeland Security Investigations said that 475 people who were in the country illegally, primarily from South Korea, were arrested as part of the operation at the under-construction battery plant. However, the car company claimed nobody detained was "directly employed" by them. The incident brings renewed scrutiny regarding construction sites of large projects as the Trump administration continues to investigate illegal worksite practices."Its great to be here to announce the more than $10 billion in new investment in American manufacturing. This new commitment of $5 billion for advanced automotive technology and $5.5 billion investment to open a new factory near Savannah, Georgia, is going to create more than 8,000 new American jobs," Biden said while visiting South Korea in May 2022.LOUISIANA RACETRACK ICE RAID NETS MORE THAN 80 ILLEGAL MIGRANTS DURING WORKSITE ENFORCEMENT OPERATION"Our administration is setting ambitious standards to cut pollution in cars and trucks and boost boost fuel economy standards for those continuing to operate on gasoline," he later added.Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp, a Republican, touted the project last February in an X post praising the "momentum" of the project. The effort is a partnership between Hyundai and LG Energy Solution to bolster EV development in the U.S.HSI said that some of the workers who were arrested were employed by subcontractors on the construction site, which has since been paused, whereas the already open EV manufacturing facility on the campus was not impacted. Fox News Digital reported that ICE and other law enforcement agencies were part of the operation."As of today, it is our understanding that none of those detained is directly employed by Hyundai Motor Company," Hyundai told Fox News Digital in a statement. "We prioritize the safety and well-being of everyone working at the site and comply with all laws and regulations wherever we operate."FEDERAL AGENTS ARREST HUNDREDS AT HYUNDAI PLANT CONSTRUCTION SITE IN GEORGIALGES also said they "will fully cooperate with the relevant authorities."Operations on worksites have become a noteworthy element of the Trump administrations crackdown on illegal immigration.CLICK HERE FOR MORE IMMIGRATION COVERAGEFederal authorities butted heads with some Democratic officials in California at a cannabis farm, which resulted in children being found to be working at the plant.16 IN CUSTODY AFTER IMMIGRATION RAID AT LA HOME DEPOT, DHS SAYS"We need construction to cease immediately," a man wearing an HSI vest in a video posted to social media said at the site on Thursday, adding that they have a warrant. "We need all work to end on the site right now."In a statement to Fox News Digital, a DHS spokesperson said that this is a "complex case" that required help from numerous federal agencies as well as the Georgia State Patrol.Fox News Digital reached out to Biden's office for comment.

Clippers' Steve Ballmer denies claim team skirted NBA salary cap rules with Kawhi Leonard endorsement deal
Los Angeles Clippers owner Steve Ballmer suggested he would welcome the NBA taking a closer look if another franchise was accused of attempting to circumvent the league's strict salary-cap parameters."I'd want the league to investigate, take it seriously," Ballmer told ESPN on Thursday. "The salary cap circumvention rules are important to the league, and I'd want the league to investigate."On Wednesday, the NBA confirmed that a probe was underway. The league is "aware of this morning's media report regarding the LA Clippers and [is] commencing an investigation," NBA spokesman Mike Bass said in a statement.Ballmer said he was left "embarrassed" and experienced "sadness" amid the fallout from sports media personality and podcaster Pablo Torre's report which asserted that he and the Clippers evaded the NBA's salary cap policies when Kawhi Leonard re-signed with Los Angeles in 2021."We did things by the book," an adamant Ballmer said.CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COMTorre reported that the Clippers facilitated a no-show endorsement deal for the two-time NBA Finals MVP. The deal, with Aspiration Partners Inc., carried an estimated value of $28 million. Aspiration, a "green" financial services company, has since filed for bankruptcy. The company's logo was featured on a Clippers jersey patch after it reached a $300 million sponsorship deal in 2021, the Los Angeles Business Journal reported at the time. Ballmer was also one of the company's investors.NBA REPORTEDLY FINALIZING ANOTHER NEW FORMAT FOR THIS SEASON'S ALL-STAR GAMEBallmer acknowledged that Aspiration asked to be introduced to Leonard, but denied he was aware of the endorsement agreement the sides ultimately signed. Ballmer also made it clear that the company was operating under his direction.Despite the reported multimillion-dollar deal, Leonard effectively was never required to perform any services for the company.Leonard and the Clippers reached a four-year contract extension reportedly worth $173 million in August 2021. Ballmer noted Leonard was not introduced to Aspiration until November of that same year."We were done. We were done with Kawhi, we were done with Aspiration. The deals were all locked and loaded," Ballmer said. "Then, they did request to be introduced to Kawhi, and under the rules, we can introduce our sponsors to our athletes. We just can't be involved."We made an introduction, that was in early November."Ballmer also said that in cooperation with the Department of Justice probe into Aspiration, reviews of the interaction with the company are ongoing. In August, Aspiration co-founder Joe Sanberg pleaded guilty to two counts of wire fraud."These were guys who committed fraud. Look, they conned me. They conned me. I made an investment in these guys thinking it was on the up-and-up, and they conned me at this stage. I have no ability to predict why they might have done anything they did, let alone the specific contract with Kawhi."This isn't the first time the NBA has investigated Leonard. In 2019, Leonard and his associates, primarily his uncle Dennis Robertson, allegedly made improper appeals to teams during the small forward's free agency. The Athletic reported at the time that Leonard's representatives asked for private jet access, part-ownership of a franchise, and off-court partnership guarantees. In 2020, Johnny Wilkes filed a lawsuit raising accusations about the Clippers' pursuit of the then-free-agent Leonard. The suit alleged then-Clippers consultant Jerry West promised to pay Wilkes $2.5 million if he helped the team land Leonard. The lawsuit was eventually dismissed, and the NBA did not penalize the Clippers.Ballmer was asked to comment on the numerous controversies Leonard has been involved in during his time with the Clippers."I don't know. I think because he, relatively doesn't speak much, I think there's a lot of mystery around Kawhi. And that may be why fans kind of tell themselves, [or] you know, create a narrative, if you will. I've had a great relationship with Kawhi. I've gotten to know him a little bit. We sit down a couple times a year and just kind of talk about how the team's doing."Leonard appeared in 37 games during the 2024-25 season as he once again battled injuries.Follow Fox News Digitals sports coverage on X, and subscribe to the Fox News Sports Huddle newsletter.

Kemp says Georgia 'proud to stand with Trump' in National Guard troop deployment to DC
Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp on Friday announced that the state plans to send more than 300 National Guard members to Washington, D.C. to support President Donald Trumps effort to restore "public safety.""Georgia is proud to stand with the Trump administration in its mission to ensure the security and beauty of our nation's capital,"Kemp said in a statement. Eagles star AJ Brown responds to getting just 1 target in season opening win against Cowboys
The Philadelphia Eagles came away with their first win of the 2025 season on Thursday night, but one offensive star was surprisingly quiet throughout.Veteran wide receiver A.J. Brown, the teams top pass-catching option, was virtually non-existent in the 24-20 victory for Philadelphia. He didnt get his first target until less than two minutes remaining in the game an eight-yard reception. The NBC broadcast brought up his lack of targets multiple times, but quarterback Jalen Hurts was using his legs and finding other receivers, including tight end Dallas Goedert, to move the ball downfield.CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COMBrown is a three-time Pro Bowl receiver who has had at least 1,000 yards in each of his first seasons with Philadelphia, which begs the question: How did he feel about not being a factor at all to start the year?"You know, thats not something I can control," he said, per Penn Live. "What I can control is my effort for when the ball does come my way."EAGLES PICK UP VICTORY OVER COWBOYS IN GAME OVERSHADOWED BY SPITTING INCIDENTReporters tried to push Brown on the subject, to which he simply reiterated, "Thats something I cant control."The Cowboys noted not wanting Brown to have the opportunity for game-breaking plays, as defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus made sure his side of the field had extra coverage. In turn, Goedert was the player working one-on-one, as he finished the game with seven catches for 44 yards. Hurts also found Jahan Dotson, the teams third receiver behind Brown and DeVonta Smith, for a 52-yard bomb downfield as well. Its only the first game of the season, and weve certainly seen the connection that Hurts and Brown have had over the years since the Tennessee Titans traded him to Philadelphia.Hurts was doing what was needed to get the Eagles downfield and into the end zone, which they did three times in the first half. He scored the team's first two touchdowns on the ground, while Saquon Barkley, who had four catches in the game, also rushed in for a score.Perhaps this is simply a blip to start the year for Brown, but until Hurts starts to target him more, it will be something to watch moving forward. Your daily diet soda could be aging your brain faster than you think, study finds
Your favorite diet soda could have a detrimental effect on your cognitive health, a new study suggests. In a Brazilian study published in the journal Neurology, participants who consumed the highest amount of artificial sweeteners were found to have "significantly faster declines" in thinking and memory skills.Researchers determined that the highest-consuming group lost about 1.6 years in extra brain aging, with a 62% faster decline.SUGAR IN DRINKS LINKED TO HIGHER DIABETES RISK THAN THAT IN FOOD, NEW RESEARCH FINDSThe groups at highest risk were younger adults under 60 and people with diabetes. Those older than 60 did not appear to be affected. In the study, researchers tracked 12,772 adults averaging 52 years old for an eight-year period. The participants filled out questionnaires about what they ate and drank. The researchers focused on the consumption of seven artificial sweeteners found in soda, energy drinks, flavored water, yogurt and low-calorie desserts. The specific sweeteners included in the study were aspartame, saccharin, acesulfame-K, erythritol, xylitol, sorbitol and tagatose, according to the study's press release.Among those who consumed the sweeteners, the highest group had an average of 191 milligrams per day, while the lowest group consumed an average of 20 milligrams.EXPERTS SAY QUITTING DIET COKE CAN IMPROVE HEART HEALTH AND GUT BALANCEThe groups also completed cognitive tests at various points throughout the study to assess memory, language and thinking skills. All of the sweeteners except tagatose were associated with a faster decline in cognition, especially memory, the researchers found."People often believe artificial sweeteners are a safer alternative to sugar, but our results suggest they may not be harmless, particularly when consumed frequently and starting in midlife,"study author Claudia Kimie Suemoto, M.D., Ph.D., of the University of So Paulo in Brazil, told Fox News Digital."While more research is needed, our findings highlight the importance of looking carefully at what we use to replace sugar in our diets. The best message for the public is to reduce both added sugars and artificial sweeteners, and whenever possible, choose natural options and focus on a balanced diet rich in whole foods."The researchers had expected the association to be more evident in older adults, since they are at higher risk of dementia and cognitive impairment."Instead, our results suggest that midlife exposure to sweeteners may be particularly harmful, which is important because midlife is a critical period for setting the trajectory of brain health," Suemoto said."Cognitive decline and dementia are thought to begin developing decades before symptoms become noticeable, so exposures during midlife may accelerate these processes and have long-term consequences."Based on these findings, the researchers recommend that the safest approach is to reduce artificial sweetener consumption as much as possible, ideally avoiding them altogether.EARLY ALZHEIMERS SIGNS DETECTED IN 3 MINUTES WITH NEW BRAINWAVE TEST"Instead of relying on artificial sweeteners, people can try other ways to add flavor and sweetness, such as using fruits, honey or maple syrup in moderation," Suemoto advised. "This not only avoids the potential risks we observed, but also encourages a more natural and balanced diet."Family physician Dr. Brintha Vasagar, who is based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, was not involved in the study but shared her reaction to the findings."For some people, the benefit of avoiding sugars in the diet will outweigh the risks of artificial sugars, and your family medicine physician can help you determine what is best for you," she told Fox News Digital."For most people, however, natural sugars are the safest option. Artificial sugars can change your perception of sweet, leading you to consume more sugars to feel the same satisfaction."Most experts recommend consuming less than one serving a day, ideally for a short period of time, or only once every few weeks, she said.Instead of diet soda, Vasagar recommends opting for water, which can be infused with cucumber, mint or fruit for added flavor. "Fresh fruits, vegetables, nuts and cheese are all healthy options for snacks without added sugars," she said.DRINKING SPECIFIC VEGETABLE JUICE COULD REDUCE OLDER ADULTS BLOOD PRESSURE, STUDY FINDSFor those who have diabetes and use artificial sweeteners, she recommends seeing a physician for help creating an individual plan."Some artificial sweeteners can actually raise blood sugar," she pointed out. "In general, even people with diabetes should strive for moderation in using artificial sweeteners."The study had several limitations, the researchers acknowledged."The dietary assessment was made only at the study baseline," Suemoto told Fox News Digital. "We adjusted the statistical analyses for several factors, but residual confounding may still be present, which is common when we are trying to control other dietary behaviors and health conditions."The study also did not include all artificial sweeteners, and the self-reported dietary data may have been limited by the participants ability to recall exactly what they consumed.More research is needed in other groups and using other tools, Suemoto said, such asneuroimaging to see whether specific brain lesions are linked to sweetener use.Vasagar agreed that more studies are essential to determining whether artificial sugars are the cause of dementia and memory loss."Its important to note that while there is a link between artificial sweeteners and brain health, we do not have data that shows causation," she reiterated.CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR OUR HEALTH NEWSLETTERThe Calorie Control Council provided the below statement to Fox News Digital."Low/no-calorie sweeteners are among the most scrutinized ingredients and consistently have been confirmed as safe for decades by global health authorities, including the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA)," said Carla Saunders, president of the CCC."This study has notable limitations, including reliance on self-reported dietary data collected only at baseline. While the authors admit finding no causal evidence, it risks misleading the millions with diabetes who rely on low/no-calorie sweeteners as recommended by the American Diabetes Association and other global health experts."For more Health articles, visitwww.foxnews.com/healthThe study was supported by the Brazilian Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation, and the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development.

Brett Favre calls NFL the 'league of divisiveness' over social justice messaging displayed on fields
The National Football League first painted slogans like "End Racism" in end zones in 2020 following a summer of racial tensions. That specific message was ditched for this past season's Super Bowl, but others remained.Despite the league's efforts to promote unity, NFL legend Brett Favre feels that the messages are counterproductive.CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COM"I feel like theyre maintaining a divisive stance. They may say, Well, were trying to bring everyone together. No, thats not bringing everyone together," Favre said on "The Sage Steele Show" earlier this week. "There are a lot of things in this world and in this country we can be better at. And I think we do continue to get better at certain things. But youre creating more division by talking about a problem that, Im not saying isnt still a problem, racism, but I think you could do more by not talking about it. Talk about unity and how far weve come."There are those who say, Ive faced this all the time. And kudos to the NFL. But I think most people are over and beyond that. Yeah. I just feel like the league is the league of divisiveness."The phrases "Choose Love" and "It Takes All Of Us" were painted in the end zones of Thursday's Philadelphia Eagles-Dallas Cowboys matchup. Those were the same messages painted during the Eagles' Super Bowl victory over the Kansas City Chiefs, changing from the "End Racism" message.ROB GRONKOWSKI EXPLAINS WHY TODAY'S ROOKIE QUARTERBACKS ARE MORE 'READY TO GO NOW' THAN IN YEARS PASTNFL spokesman Brian McCarthy told The Athletic before the Super Bowl the decision came amid the recent tragedies that have occurred in the U.S. since the start of 2025, including the terror attack in New Orleans, wildfires in the Los Angeles area and the deadly plane crash near a Washington, D.C., airport."We felt it was an appropriate statement for what the country has collectively endured, given recent tragedies, and can serve as an inspiration," he told the outlet.McCarthy added that "End Racism" was only seen during the Eagles NFC Championship win against the Washington Commanders. The AFC Championship, in which the Chiefs topped the Buffalo Bills, included the aforementioned phrases.Prior to kickoff on Thursday, the Black national anthem was performed, which received backlash on social media."NFL, you gotta stop opening the season by singing the "Black National Anthem" We have one national anthem," one user wrote on X."This is the most racist, woke pandering bull s--- Ive ever heard of," said another.Follow Fox News Digitalssports coverage on X,and subscribe tothe Fox News Sports Huddle newsletter.

FIRST ON FOX: President Donald Trumps D.C. crime crackdown has led to 1,914 arrests since Aug. 7 including dozens Thursday night, among them an illegal immigrant on a terrorist watch list and a person of interest tied to a gun found abandoned on school property, Fox News Digital has learned.Hundreds of National Guard members, as well as the Metropolitan Police Department and personnel from federal agencies, such as the FBI, Drug Enforcement Administration, Capitol Police and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, have taken to the streets of D.C. to conduct sweeps and root out crime since August as part of Trump's crackdown on rampant crime.Law enforcement officials arrested a total of 73 individuals Thursday evening, including an illegal immigrant from El Salvador who is currently on the terrorist watch list; an illegal immigrant from Colombia and confirmed Florencia 13 gang member with prior arrests for grand theft, carjacking and bringing narcotics/alcohol in detention facility; an individual arrested on a warrant for attempted first degree murder (knife), first degree assault; another arrested on warrant for assault with intent to kill while armed; and an illegal immigrant from Bolivia arrested with prior criminal arrests for domestic batter/abuse, felonious assault, abduction by force without justification and driving while intoxicated.TRUMP DECLARES DC A 'CRIME FREE ZONE' AMID HIS FEDERAL CRACKDOWNAnother unnamed individual was arrested Thursday evening for carrying a firearm without a license and violation of the National Firearms Act. That individual was identified as a person of interest in an incident involving an abandoned gun found at a school Sept. 3, Fox News Digital learned. Law enforcement contacted the suspect via phone and the suspect agreed to surrender to officers, according to the White House.Law enforcement notably rescued a child who was reported missing during Thursday's operation. The crime crackdown in D.C. has led to the rescue of six missing children since Aug. 7, Fox Digital learned."Thanks to President Trump, some of the most dangerous criminals who have committed heinous crimes have been removed from the streets of Washington, D.C.," White House spokeswoman Taylor Rogers told Fox News Digital Friday. "For far too long, these criminals have been able to commit crime after crime without any accountability but President Trump has restored law and order to our nations capital.""As a result of President Trumps tough-on-crime policies, federal law enforcement operations have removed nearly 2,000 dangerous criminals, lethal drugs, and deadly weapons from the city which is a win for all D.C. residents and visitors," she continued. The White House provided Fox Digital with a handful of photos showing handguns and illegal substances recovered during the arrests this week.DC ARRESTS SURPASS 1,000 AS TRUMP-BACKED CRACKDOWN ENTERS 12TH HOMICIDE-FREE DAYAll in, the crime crackdown has yielded 17 arrests of violent gangbangers, including members of MS-13 and Tren de Aragua, while a total of 198 firearms have been seized. The operation has also led to the clearance of 50 different homeless encampments across the city.Trump federalized the Metropolitan Police Department Aug. 11 in response to a spate of high-profile killings and attacks in the city, following a dangerous crime wave that washed over the country, including D.C., beginning in 2020. Trump federalized the local police department under section 740 of the District of Columbia Home Rule Act, which allows the president to assume emergency control of the capital's police force for 30 days.Army Secretary Dan Driscoll published a memo Wednesday extending the National Guard's presence specifically in D.C. through Nov. 30. The memo stated the extension is "to continue supporting the President's ongoing efforts to restore law and order in the District of Columbia," Fox News previously reported.SCOOP: WHITE HOUSE TOUTS GUNS AND DRUG HAUL REMOVED FROM DC STREETS AS TRUMPS CRIME BLITZ NETS 550 ARRESTSD.C. recorded 13 days of zero homicides in August shortly after Trump federalized the city, with law enforcement racking up a lengthy list of suspected criminals stretching from drug distributors to illegal immigrants to those carrying illegal firearms in the city.Trump has since floated deploying the National Guard to other cities to help curb crime, including Chicago and Baltimore, which has earned strong rebuke from local leaders who have said the crackdown is unnecessary as crime data show violent trends have slowed since the 2020 era and that Trump is promoting authoritarianism."This is exactly the type of overreach that our countrys founders warned against," Democratic Illinois JB Pritzker told the media in August while slamming Trump's suggestions of National Guard deployment."What Trump is doing is unprecedented and unwarranted. It is illegal. It is unconstitutional. It is un-American," he added.

Eric Adams vows to beat Mamdani amid rumors hed drop out
New York Mayor Eric Adams held a press conference on Friday in which he dispelled widespread rumors that he would drop out of his bid for re-election and vowed to stay in the race, saying, "I'm running, and I'm going to beat Mamdani."Adams, who was elected mayor as a Democrat in 2022, is running as an independent and facing an uphill battle against the Democratic Partys mayoral nominee, Zohran Mamdani, a Ugandan-born Muslim and socialist. Former New York Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo is also running as an independent after losing to Mamdani in the Democratic primary race in June.Adams took aim at both Mamdani and Cuomo during his Friday press conference, saying, "I have two spoiled brats running for mayor.""I want to be clear with you," said Adams, "Andrew Cuomo is a snake and a liar. I am in this race and I'm the only one that can beat Mamdani."ANDREW CUOMO CHALLENGES MAYORAL OPPONENT ZOHRAN MAMDANI TO 5 DEBATES ACROSS EACH OF NYC'S BOROUGHS"This is such a pivotal and important period, and we have to get it right," he went on."They were born with silver spoons in their mouths. Not like working class New Yorkers. I'm a working-class New Yorker. They are not like us," he said. "They've never had to fight. They never had to struggle. They never had to go through difficult times like you and I had to go through, New Yorkers."He took particular aim at Cuomo, accusing him of having "a career of pushing black candidates out of races."He also addressed rumors that he is in discussions with President Donald Trump about possibly joining his administration.TRUMP WANTS '2 PEOPLE TO DROP OUT' TO SET UP '1-ON-1' MAYORAL RACE WITH MAMDANI IN NYC"There's a lot of reports that I'm in Washington on Monday, those reports are wrong. I'm running for reelection, and I'm going to tell New Yorkers every day why I believe I should be the mayor of the city of New York in 2026."He acknowledged that he is significantly behind Mamdani in the polls, but dismissed this, saying, "I hear the polls, I hear the comments, I hear the pundits."But those are the same polls that stated eight weeks out that Andrew Cuomo was up by 36 points, and even his poll had him up by ten points, those are the same polls as stated he was going to walk into becoming the mayor of the City of New York, who he believes is a consolation prize because he made the determination to step down [as governor]."DNC AGAIN EMBRACES MAMDANI DESPITE COMMUNIST RHETORIC, REFUSAL TO DENOUNCE GLOBALIZE THE INTIFADA: BIG TENT'"I'm running, and I'm going to beat Mamdani, and I'm going to continue the success that this city has witnessed," he said."I committed myself and dedicated myself to a city that I love, and I'm going to continue to do that.
