WWW.FOXNEWS.COMSabrina Carpenter defends her racy image, tells critics they 'need to get out more'Sabrina Carpenter is responding to criticism over her racy image. The 26-year-old singer sparked controversy when she released the original album cover for her seventh studio album, "Man's Best Friend," with many taking issue with the idea that it objectified women and promoted sexist stereotypes."I think between me and my friends and my family and the people that I always share my music and my art with first, it was it just wasn't even a conversation," she told CBS Mornings on Aug. 29. "It was just, like, it's perfect. For what the album is, it's perfect for, you know, kind of what it represents."The original cover shows Carpenter kneeling in a black dress and high heels, grasping a mans leg as he pulls her hair from above. Carpenter said her initial reaction to hearing the criticism was, "y'all need to get out more."TAYLOR SWIFT TURNS HEADS IN SIZZLING BODYSUIT FOR SPECIAL EDITION ALBUM IMAGERY AHEAD OF NEW MUSICThe Grammy Award-winning singer told the outlet that her interpretation of the artwork is "being in on your lack of control and when you want to be in control," adding that being a "young woman, you're just as aware of when you're in control as when you're not.""My fans that know me and know the person behind the music will look at that photo and they know exactly what it is. People that have no idea who I am absolutely look at that photo and go, like, 'where are her parents?'" she said. "My parents actually saw the photo and they loved it."This isn't the first time Carpenter has faced backlash for her mature persona, shocking fans with her explicit dance moves while on her "Short n' Sweet" tour from September 2024 to March 2025. While performing her hit song "Juno," the singer would act out different sexual positions when she sang the lyrics, "Wanna try out some freaky positions? / Have you ever tried this one?"Some slammed the artist, calling her performance inappropriate for her younger fan base, while others argued that she should be able to grow and break free from the childlike Disney persona and transition into adulthood.LIKE WHAT YOURE READING? WWW.FOXNEWS.COMMinneapolis school shooter went through recent breakup before deadly attack on Catholic school: warrantThe Minneapolis Catholic school shooter Robin Westman recently went through a breakup and was living with an older friend, according to one of several search warrants police have obtained in the wake of a deadly attack on Wednesday's morning Mass.Westman most recently lived in an apartment in Richfield, according to a search warrant, but the killer's father told police that the 23-year-old had just gone through a breakup and was staying with a friend in nearby St. Louis Park.Police also searched Westman's father's house in Minneapolis, where they seized a tactical vest, two computer drives and "misc documents," according to the warrant return.MINNEAPOLIS POLICE REVEAL MORE ABOUT CHURCH SCHOOL SHOOTER'S MOTIVEWestman has been identified as the one who opened fire Wednesday morning, killing two children, ages 8 and 10, and injuring 18 other worshipers, including more than a dozen other kids from the school.Police found Westman dead of a self-inflicted gunshot to the head, wearing black "tactical" gear and carrying at least two long guns, according to the warrant. The van Westman used in the attack belonged to James Westman, the killer's father. The elder Westman told police about the breakup.MINNEAPOLIS CHURCH SHOOTER'S MOTHER REFUSES TO TALK TO POLICE AFTER DEADLY ATTACK ON CHILDRENWestman was born Robert Paul Westman and underwent a legal name change in 2019, according to court documents, becoming Robin M. Westman."Minor child [redacted] identifies as a female and wants her name to reflect that identification," according to a court form filled out by a mother named Mary Grace Westman the same name as a woman who police said worked at the Annunciation Catholic Church. The shooter also attended the church's attached Catholic school until eighth grade, according to authorities.Federal authorities reportedly visited a Florida condominium owned by Mary Grace Westman as part of the investigation into the mother of the shooter who opened fire during a Minneapolis Catholic church Mass on Wednesday, according to WINK News.Deputies visited the same address a day earlier before the shooting for what police said was an unrelated welfare check involving a juvenile."Contact was made with Mrs. Westman, who stated the juvenile and the juveniles mother had previously lived there and were no longer residing with her," the Collier County Sheriffs Office told Fox News Digital.Officials noted it was "unrelated to the shooter or shooter's family."The FBI declined to answer questions about activity in Florida.Minneapolis Police Chief Brian OHara told reporters Thursday that investigators have not yet spoken with Westman but are continuing efforts to reach her. Authorities confirmed she has not been cooperating with the ongoing investigation.Ryan Garry, a lawyer for Mary Westman, told Fox News she is "deeply distraught" and not involved in the crime but hired counsel to handle law enforcement and media inquiries. The killer also posted what police are referring to as "manifestos" online."[It] appeared to show him at the scene and included some disturbing writing," O'Hara told reporters during a briefing.Disturbing videos posted by a person using the name Robin Westman were deleted from YouTube after the shooting, showing handwritten pages of a notebook, weapons with messages painted on them, and commentary from whoever filmed them.O'Hara added that all three firearms used in the attack had been purchased legally by Westman, who had no prior criminal record.Police in Eagan, Minnesota, were part of a multiple-department response to a mental health incident at a former address used by Westman in 2018, according to NBC News, which obtained a heavily redacted report on the matter.Eagan police did not immediately return a message seeking comment on the incident. Mendota Heights police, who were also involved in the response, declined to answer any questions about the incident or any other encounters at the same address.Minnesota does have a so-called red flag law, officially the state's "Extreme Risk Protection Orders" program, which can block people from purchasing firearms for mental health reasons but they have to first be flagged by their parents, prosecutors, or high-ranking police officials, according to the state government.0 Comments 0 Shares 35 Views 0 Reviews

WWW.FOXNEWS.COMPsaki responds to backlash over her dismissing thoughts and prayers, says they're 'not enough'Former White House press secretary Jen Psaki responded Thursday to criticism of her recent "thoughts and prayers" comments following the Minnesota Catholic school shooting.During a segment on her MSNBC show, the former Biden official criticized those who pushed back on her skepticism about the effectiveness of prayer in dealing with mass shootings."So the issue I raised yesterday and I will raise again today and I will not stop raising, is that people in power, like, say, people in the White House, who are using their platforms to do anything other than call for action for sensible gun safety measures theyre doing anything else, like attacking me, which is a waste of time, theyre doing anything but saying what should be done to help prevent tragedies like the shooting in Minneapolis," she said.MEDIA MOCKERY OF PRAYER, 'SUBTLE SMEARS' AGAINST CHRISTIANITY MARKS COVERAGE OF NASHVILLE MASSACREPsaki caught widespread backlash on Wednesday for her social media post decrying politicians and other public figures offering their thoughts and prayers in the wake of the shooting which left two schoolchildren dead and more than a dozen injured. She wrote, "Prayer is not freaking enough. Prayers does not end school shootings. prayers do not make parents feel safe sending their kids to school. Prayer does not bring these kids back. Enough with the thoughts and prayers."In a separate post, Psaki also used the tragedy to criticize the Trump administrations crime crackdown in Washington, D.C."When kids are getting shot in their pews at a catholic school mass and your crime plan is to have national guard put mulch down around DC maybe rethink your strategy."WHO IS ROBIN WESTMAN, SUSPECT IN ANNUNCIATION CATHOLIC SCHOOL SHOOTING IN MINNEAPOLIS?White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt responded to her predecessor in Thursdays White House press briefing."It is utterly disrespectful to deride the power of prayer in this country, and it is disrespectful to the millions of Americans of faith. And I would encourage Ms. Psaki to pray for these families themselves, who need it right now more than ever," she said.During her show, Psaki replied to the same questions that White House correspondents asked Leavitt, including the one about Democratic leaders and Psaki herself criticizing the outpouring of "thoughts and prayers.""But heres the thing, prayer is a powerful source of comfort for so many people around the world during difficult times, including me," she replied. "I completely feel that way. And what I said yesterday and will say again now, though, is that prayer alone is not enough to prevent and end the crisis of gun violence in America. Its not."CLICK HERE FOR MORE COVERAGE OF MEDIA AND CULTUREThe MSNBC host continued by talking about gun violence in the country."We live in a country where there are more guns than people. There have been five school shootings since the start of the school year on August 1, less than a month ago, and 57 school shootings since January. And the fact that parents like me have to worry every day about whether or not our kids are safe at school is what we should be talking about."She questioned why the Trump administration hasnt supported universal background checks for gun sales, tighter restrictions on the mentally ill obtaining guns, or a ban on assault weapons, noting that "the majority of the country" supports all three."Look, to solve this long epidemic of violence requires action. And when kids in pews who are praying are shot to quote the statement from Sisters of Mercy on the Minnesota Catholic school shooting our response can no longer be thoughts and prayers alone," she added.CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APP0 Comments 0 Shares 8 Views 0 Reviews
