WWW.FOXNEWS.COMBill Maher slams Democrats like Kamala Harris and the Clintons for being 'afraid' to come on his show"Real Time" host Bill Maher called out Democrats like former Vice President Kamala Harris and the Clintons for being "afraid" to come onto his show while praising Republicans for coming on and taking "their beating like a man."The "Real Time" host said people ask him "all the time" why he doesn't have guests like Harris or Bill and Hillary Clinton on his program, but according to Maher, it's not for a lack of trying on his end."You think we don't ask? We ask these people every week. They say no," he said. "It took eight years and a petition to get Obama on."BILL MAHER ADMITS HE STILL FEARS GETTING CANCELED DESPITE CULTURAL 'VIBE SHIFT' AFTER ELECTIONMaher expressed confusion at the fact that Democratic politicians would be "afraid" to come on his show, considering that the late-night host is a longtime liberal who mostly votes for Democrats."And these are people all people I voted for. Think about that. They're afraid to come on the show of a guy who voted for them," he jeered. "The Republicans, they show up and when they do, they take their beating like a man."The late-night host then played a montage of conservatives appearing on "Real Time" and getting into heated disagreements with him. Conservative guests included in the montage were former Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy, former Attorney General Bill Barr, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and longtime Trump ally Steve Bannon."Look, I would love to have AOC on the show and [Zohran] Mandani and Elizabeth Warren, but I can't subpoena the guests and I can't fix that," Maher asserted. "What the Democrats are scared of more than anything else. I mean, obviously, besides gluten, is being primaried from the far left, even though most Democrats are not far-left, they're mildmannered and moderate." He joked, "At least at my bath house."CLICK HERE FOR THE LATEST MEDIA AND CULTURE NEWSAlthough Maher was critical of Democrats who were too "afraid" to make an appearance on his show, there was one liberal politician who Maher praised for being brave enough to make an appearance. In the prior segment, Maher poked fun at California Gov. Gavin Newsom for his "perfect hair," but commended the fact that he's willing to come on his show. The last time Newsom was on "Real Time," Maher did not pull any punches during their time together, calling out the governor over the Golden State's many regulations something he'd previously pressed Newsom on.The liberal host relayed how he personally felt the sting of big government. Maher kicked off the exchange in March by complaining to Newsom about how he needed to pay out-of-pocket for "two inspections" for upgrades on his roof following the devastating wildfires in the Pacific Palisades."It's my roof!" Maher exclaimed. "If it falls on my head, that's my problem.""Why do I need two inspections, which I have to pay for? You were here last time. We talked about regulations. You said, Oh, its a completely new day,'" Maher said and made a face at the governor. "You said you were working on it."Fox News' Joseph A. WWW.FOXNEWS.COMDenzel Washington blasts cancel culture, says faith matters more than followersDenzel Washington is making it clear he wants nothing to do with cancel culture. In a heated conversation on the topic with Complex, the actor ripped into the concept of being canceled, saying he doesn't care that much about public support or followers. When asked if he considers the idea of being "canceled," Washington was quick to question the term, asking, "What does that mean to be canceled?"DENZEL WASHINGTON SHUTS DOWN REPORTS HE BAILED ON CANNES FILM FESTIVAL AFTER RED CARPET INCIDENTWhile she explained that the term essentially meant losing public support, Washingtons response was unapologetically bold: "Who cares? What made public support so important to begin with?"The reporter told him that "followers now are currency," to which he replied, "I dont care whos following who."For Washington, the idea of chasing after followers or public support in general isn't that important."You cant lead and follow at the same time, and you cant follow and lead at the same time," he said. WWW.FOXNEWS.COMJohnny Manziel praises Shedeur Sanders' Browns approach after stellar preseason debut: 'Continue to grind'Johnny Manziel was once in Shedeur Sanders' shoes a Cleveland Browns quarterback with high expectations and a national spotlight.Manziel was a Browns first-round pick in 2014 with the entire city of Cleveland hoping "Johnny Football" could spring life into a franchise desperate for consistency at the quarterback position.NFL fans know how that ultimately played out for the Browns and Manziel, but the 2012 Heisman Trophy winner has loads of optimism for Sanders, a fifth-round pick, as he embarks on his first season in the league.CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COM"I think everything hes done since hes gotten to Cleveland has been exactly what he should be doing," Manziel told Fox News Digital about Sanders, while also discussing his partnership with Sling TV."Obviously, a crowded quarterback room. I think a lot of people, at least for me, enjoyed watching Shedeur play in college. I also really liked watching [Browns third-round pick] Dillon Gabriel play in college. I think the guy has a lot of talent, a great arm. So, I think for [Sanders], continue to go through this preseason. Try to get better week in and week out, and if they name you the starter, amazing. If youre the [No.] 2, amazing. If youre the [No.] 3, whatever. Sit there and continue to grind, learn the offense, and continue to try to get more comfortable, and good things will happen."EX-NBA PLAYER MAKES SHEDEUR SANDERS-LEBRON JAMES COMPARISON AFTER QB'S PRESEASON DEBUTWhile Manziel and others have said before the start of training camp that Sanders could win the job, it's expected that Joe Flacco, the longtime veteran quarterback, will begin the season as the Browns' starter under center. But all the talk around the Browns after their first preseason game last week was about Sanders, as he was named the starter by head coach Kevin Stefanski and played well into the third quarter.Sanders went 14-for-23 passing for 138 yards and two touchdowns, flashing his signature touchdown celebration along the way to a 30-10 victory against the Carolina Panthers. It's a performance like this that has Manziel reminiscing about the NFL Draft back in April, and how Sanders fell into Day 3 and the fifth round before Cleveland scooped him up."I didnt think there was any way he was getting past Day 2. Youre just sitting there and this guys getting billed as somebody whos getting taken in the first round and this and that. Wild to see, but you get into a position that is in need of a quarterback, right? You have a vet in Joe Flacco, you got two rookies that are in there, and Kenny Pickett. Im sure theyre going into that quarterback room and being like, Listen, you guys go out every day and battle for this. Were going to mix up reps, were going to give somebody something this day and that day."Manziel added how he thinks it's funny to see fans clamoring over reports from the Cleveland media about which quarterback threw the most touchdowns or had the best day on the practice field."In the grand scheme of things, its all bulls--- until you get to the real game, and real bullets are flying," Manziel said. "Ive been having a good laugh seeing the practice statistics pop up."But once again, Manziel knows how much the media can play a part in the perception of a player and a team. While many think about New York, Los Angeles or Boston media when it comes to sports, Manziel explained why he thinks Cleveland is also a tough place to impress."I think people who have covered that team for years and years and years have dealt with the highs of having high expectations going into a season, and seeing them crumble," he said. "There hasnt been the success there that they want, so of course, its been extremely frustrating. Of course, its a tough media place to be in when youre not winning games when you feel like you should be, especially when you have good pieces on the team."The one thing that I do know about [Sanders], and Deion, knowing him through the years, hes going to be prepared for that. Hes going to have the right answers for it. Hes going to be able to weather the storm. Its one of those things where you go out and have a nine-, 10-, 11-win season, those questions will start to feel more warm and fuzzy for sure."Sanders is unlikely to follow up his first taste of the NFL with any great performance after suffering an oblique injury at Browns practice this week. Cleveland takes on the Philadelphia Eagles for their second preseason game on Saturday night.Manziel partnered with Sling TV, a subsidiary of DISH Network Corporation, to promote a different way to watch football this season one that truly taks the consumer into consideration.Sling TV is offering three new streaming subscription packages: Day Pass for instant 24-hour access, Weekend Pass, which grants Friday-through-Sunday access, and Week Pass for a full seven-days worth of access. When it comes to football, especially on the college level, not all fans want to pay a premium for games they wont watch. Manziel loves that he can pick and choose the right streaming subscription with Sling TV to satisfy his watching needs."I get these notifications on my phone that say, You get charged X amount for this or that. Im like, Man, Im just trying to watch ball. To have something start at $4.99, and you pick which one you want you want a day, a week, a weekend. Being an SEC guy through and through, I think for me, it makes it easy for me to watch whatever I want whenever I want and its really easy. You dont have to sit there with overhead or anything else going on. For me, I dont think it can be any better."Follow Fox News Digitalssports coverage on X, and subscribe tothe Fox News Sports Huddle newsletter.0 Commentarii 0 Distribuiri 19 Views 0 previzualizare

She was 79."I feel very lonely now that shes not here," the "I Dream of Jeannie" star admitted to Fox News Digital. "I miss her I really miss her. I miss everything about Loni. But I just put them on.""I walked out of the hallway, and there was Loni. She looked at me and said, You cant wear those!" the 93-year-old laughed. "Youve got to tell them, go tell them. Youre going to change them. I didnt even know her then. But we had such a good laugh later about it. And I did go and say, Ill have the skin-colored hosiery, not white! I think she was just really what my mother would call a good egg.""She was a friend," said Eden. "She saw something she didnt like and spoke up right then and there."The women became fast friends."Barbara probably knew her better than most - they were really good friends," publicist Harlan Boll told Fox News Digital. She just did a good job with everything."Morgan Fairchild shared a similar sentiment.WATCH: MORGAN FAIRCHILD AND NICOLLETTE SHERIDAN ON WHY FAMILY IS SO IMPORTANT AT CHRISTMAS"Loni and I did Bob Hope specials together back in the day, and recently did a Lifetime movie, Ladies of the '80s: A Diva's Christmas together," the actress told Fox News Digital. "She was lovely, kind, always gracious, and just one of the nicest people I've ever had the honor of working with in all my years in the business."The "Falcon Crest" alum said one recent memory of the late star continues to make her smile."In our TV movie, her character ended up with a gray wig, and she looked so fabulous with the gray hair," the 75-year-old recalled. "We all tried to convince her to go with that in real life, whenever the time came. However, she said that producers would only cast her as a blonde. She had tried to go back to her natural dark hair at one point, and they told her she had to be the blonde to get cast.""She was radiant in that gray wig, and she was a radiant soul in real life," said Fairchild. "I am just devastated to lose her. She was such a talent and such a terrific lady. She was the sweetest person. I [still] cant believe shes gone."Eden and Fairchild were among the first to speak out following Andersons death."Like many, I am absolutely stunned and heartbroken," Eden wrote on X at the time. "Our friendship has spanned many years, and news like this is never easy to hear or accept. What can I say about Loni that everyone doesnt already know? She was a real talent, with a razor-smart wit and a glowing sense of humor but, even more than that, she had an impeccable work ethic.""Loni was a darling lady and a genuinely good person," wrote Eden. "I am truly at a loss for words Loni, you were one in a trillion, my friend, and even a trillion more."LIKE WHAT YOURE READING? CLICK HERE FOR MORE ENTERTAINMENT NEWSBack in 2021, Anderson spoke to Fox News Digital about being "the blonde.""I was a brunette actress in 75," she said at the time. "So if you see old reruns, you can see the transformation of my hair. I was every color in the rainbow. I even tried to be a redhead. But the blonde thing happened because the cameraman kept telling me my hair was too dark. It absorbed the light, and it was like an ink blob. And so, I started experimenting with different colors from the drugstore. And the lighter my hair got, the more work I got.""When the WKRP pilot came along, I wasnt quite blonde," Anderson shared. "Hugh Wilson, who created the show, said, Lets make her look likeLana Turner and be the smartest person in the room. I then went to a professional hairstylist and said, Make me a blonde. And thats how my blondeness began. I always thought, Ill go back to my dark hair. But it just didnt happen. I was who I was, and I was a blonde.""I remember I went to Grant Tinker, the head of NBC, when we did WKRP and said, I really want to do this movie. Could I do it with black hair? And he said, No I didnt hire Loni Anderson to have black hair," she continued. "I realized I had created this image."Anderson admitted she didnt expect to be seen as a sex symbol, but welcomed the role."I had this discussion withAnn-Margret," said Anderson. "Will there ever be a time when our names wont be followed by bombshell or sex symbol? It becomes a part of your name. And you know, Id never thought I would reach that point I never thought I would be Loni Anderson, sex symbol. But I embrace it."0 Commentarii 0 Distribuiri 20 Views 0 previzualizare

WWW.FOXNEWS.COMCancer vaccine shows promise in preventing recurrence of pancreatic, colorectal tumorsAn experimental cancer vaccine has shown promise in keeping certain cancers from coming back.In a phase 1 clinical trial led in part by the UCLA Health Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center, researchers tested the vaccine (ELI-002 2P) with 25 patients who had been treated for pancreatic and colorectal cancer. The patients had all undergone surgery to remove tumors and showed "signs of minimal residual disease" or traces of DNA, putting them at a high risk of recurrence, according to a UCLA press release.WOMAN BEATS DEADLY BRAIN CANCER WITH INVESTIGATIONAL CELL THERAPY: 'TRULY AMAZING'More than 80% of pancreatic cancer patients experience recurrence of the disease after surgery, research shows and for 40% to 50%, this happens within the first year. For colorectal cancer, the recurrence rate is between 30% and 50% and is most likely to occur within the first two years after surgery.Mutations in the KRAS gene are responsible for half of colorectal cancers and more than 90% of pancreatic cancers. The vaccine, which targets those mutations, was given via a series of injections to activate an immune response in the lymph nodes.A majority (21 out of 25) of the patients generated "KRAS-specific T cells," which indicates a stronger immune response. The ones with higher T-cell responses showed a longer relapse-free survival compared to those with lower responses, the researchers found.MAN'S DEADLY BRAIN CANCER TUMOR DISAPPEARS AFTER EXPERIMENTAL DRUG TRIALFor three colorectal cancer patients and three pancreatic cancer patients, the vaccine appeared to remove all disease biomarkers.Among the patients who showed the strongest immune response, a majority were still cancer-free nearly 20 months after receiving the vaccine. The findings were published in Nature Medicine."This is an exciting advance for patients with KRAS-driven cancers, particularly pancreatic cancer, where recurrence after standard treatment is almost a given and effective therapies are limited," said first author of the study, Zev Wainberg, M.D., professor of medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and researcher in the UCLA Health Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center, in the release."We observed that patients who developed strong immune responses to the vaccine remained disease-free and survived for much longer than expected."In another finding, 67% of the patients in the trial showed immune responses to "additional tumor-associated mutations," indicating that the vaccine could be used to suppress "broader anti-tumor activity."One of the benefits of ELI-002 2P, according to the researchers, is that its considered "off-the-shelf," which means its a mass-produced, standardized vaccine that doesnt have to be personalized for each individual patient."This study shows that the ELI-002 2P vaccine can safely and effectively train the immune system to recognize and fight cancer-driving mutations," Wainberg said."It offers a promising approach to generating precise and durable immune responses without the complexity or cost of fully personalized vaccines."The team has already finished enrolling participants for a phase 2 study that will test ELI-002 7P, the next iteration of the vaccine that will target a "broader set" of KRAS mutations, the release stated.CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR OUR HEALTH NEWSLETTERThe study was sponsored and funded by Elicio Therapeutics, the Massachusetts company that developed the vaccine. It was conducted in conjunction with the MD Anderson Cancer Center and the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.Dr. Marc Siegel, Fox News senior medical analyst, was not involved in the study but commented that targeted therapies are becoming increasingly important tools in the fight against cancer."Solid tumors, especially pancreatic, can be difficult to treat because they are not as mutagenic (capable of inducing or causing mutations) as hematological malignancies (blood cancers) or melanoma, for example, so they dont have as many ready targets for immunotherapy," he told Fox News Digital. For more Health articles, visitwww.foxnews.com/health"The new cancer vaccine from UCLA is very promising as a major tool against these cancers, as it programs the immune system to target these mutations and has been shown in the NATURE study to elicit a strong clinical response."0 Commentarii 0 Distribuiri 19 Views 0 previzualizare

WWW.FOXNEWS.COMDAVID MARCUS: Democrats abandon Schumer's imaginary couple, Joe and Eileen BaileySo, Joe and Eileen Bailey, that lovely fictitious couple from Massapequa, are back in the news. In case you missed it, HBOs John Oliver has exposed that the prototypical voting couple who for decades served as the policy muse for Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., does not actually exist. It has always been a bit of a winking open secret that Joe and Eileen are figments of Schumer's imagination, but the senator has given his characters years of detailed backstory that all lead to one conclusion: The Democrat Party has utterly abandoned Joe and Eileen Bailey.EX-NBC NEWS HOST CHUCK TODD LAMENTS DEMOCRATIC PARTY A 'COLLECTION OF PEOPLE THAT DON'T LIKE TRUMP'In his 2007 book "Positively American," Schumergave us a thumbnail of these made-up middle-class swing voters, and it's worth digging into a bit and comparing them to the Democrat priorities in 2025.Joe and Eileen, as the story goes, bought into Reagan Republicanism in the 1980s. They dont really believe in trickle down, but they dont believe in a whole lot of government spending, either.Well, here in 2025, the Democrats are turning into the party of government-run grocery stores and student debt forgiveness.Joe takes off his cap and sings along with the national anthem at the hockey game, and Eileen volunteers at her church. In 2025, a majority of Democrats do not believe that America is a force for good in the world, and less than a quarter of Democrats attend church compared with over 40% of Republicans.Joe and Eileen are pro-choice. They think every woman has the right to make that decision, but they are glad that their church isnt.In 2025, the Democrats have moved well beyond their old position of wanting abortion to be safe, legal, and importantly, rare, to a celebration of the practice upon which they would put no limits. Finally, Joe and Eileen are not anti-immigration, but they are against illegal immigration. In 2025, the position of the Democrats is that pretty much all of the estimated 20 million illegals who flooded in under President Joe Biden should have a right to stay in the country. What we see here is the perfect encapsulation of how Democrats have abandoned the political center of the nation in their bizarre lurching to the far left.Even Schumer admits this. In recent interviews, he has acknowledged that the Baileys voted for Donald Trump in 2016, split their vote in 2020, and then came back to Trump in 2024 Amazingly, the reason that Chuck gives for these most recent votes is crime.Crime! This is the same Chuck Schumer who, this week, took to social media to say crime in Washington, D.C., is not a big deal, and he knows because he takes early morning walks around the Capitol with his security detail.Has this guy even read his own book? Where does he think Joe and Eileen stand on fighting crime in D.C. and closer to their fictional home in New York City? Hes already stated that this is exactly what the Baileys elected President Donald Trump to do.Democrats might argue that Joe and Eileen are now in their 70s, that they are no longer the archetype of the Democrat voter, but in fact, to steal a page from Schumers book, I have met Joe and Eileen all over this country. These are the strong and steady Americans who work hard, keep their heads down, are not overly ideological and want a government that is effective but not one that dominates their lives.CLICK HERE FOR MORE FOX NEWS OPINIONJoe and Eileen could be a coal miner and a hairdresser in western Pennsylvania, they could be a steel worker and waitress in Ohio, they could be a cop and an office assistant in North Carolina. In all these places, they are voting red.Schumer has correctly identified the central problem his party has with all of these Joes and Eileens, as Republicans lick their chops waiting to run a midterm against socialist Zohran Mamdani should he win the New York mayoral race in November.Schumers party has swung wildly to the left, and for some reason, even though he is the most powerful Democrat elected official in America, he cant seem to do a damn thing about it.If Democrats are ever going to get Joe and Eileen back, it's not going to be because of Chuck Schumer. But if somebody in the party doesnt step up and start speaking to their concerns, the Baileys might never vote blue again.CLICK HERE TO READ MORE FROM DAVID MARCUS0 Commentarii 0 Distribuiri 19 Views 0 previzualizare

WWW.FOXNEWS.COMTrump closes out 30th week in office with 'very warm' high-stakes Putin meetingPresident Donald Trump closed out his 30th week in office of his second term with a high-stakes meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin Friday in Anchorage, Alaska, in an attempt to end the war between Russia and Ukraine. The two did not reach a peace agreement, but Trump said that the meeting was a success and that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will visit the White House in Washington Monday."It was determined by all that the best way to end the horrific war between Russia and Ukraine is to go directly to a Peace Agreement, which would end the war, and not a mere Ceasefire Agreement, which often times do not hold up," Trump said in a Saturday post on Truth Social. If the meeting in Washington with Zelenskyy goes well, Trump said that a trilateral meeting between the U.S., Russia and Ukraine will be scheduled.Trump described the meeting with Putin as "very warm," and said that he believed a deal was imminent."I can tell you, the meeting was a very warm meeting," Trump told Fox News host Sean Hannity in an exclusive interview. "You know, hes a strong guy, hes tough as hell on all of that, but the meeting was a very warm meeting between two very important countries, and its very good when they get along. I think were pretty close to a deal. Now look, Ukraine has to agree to it."Heres what also happened this week:On Monday, Trump announced he would activate approximately 800 National Guard troops and would take over the Metropolitan Police Department to address crime in Washington. The move came after Trump already bolstered federal law enforcement presence in the nation's capital Saturday."I'm deploying the National Guard to help reestablish law, order and public safety in Washington, D.C.," Trump told reporters at a Monday press conference. "And they're going to be allowed to do their job properly."TRUMP TAKES CONTROL OF METRO POLICE, DEPLOYS NATIONAL GUARD TO TAKE ON WASHINGTON CRIMETrump initially suggested federalizing Washingtons Metropolitan Police Department and dispatching National Guard troops to address crime in Washington Aug. 6 in response to the assault of a former Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) staffer.Although a temporary federal takeover of the Metropolitan Police Department is warranted for emergency situations, Washington officials filed a lawsuit challenging the Trump administrations move Friday."By illegally declaring a takeover of MPD, the Administration is abusing its temporary, limited authority under the law," Washington Attorney General Brian Schwalb wrote in a Friday X post. "This is the gravest threat to Home Rule DC has ever faced, and we are fighting to stop it."The White House sent a letter to the Smithsonian Tuesday, announcing it would conduct a review of its museums and exhibits leading up to the 250th birthday of the United States in 2025."We want the museums to treat our country fairly," Trump told reporters Thursday. "We want their museums to talk about the history of our country in a fair manner, not in a woke manner or in a racist manner, which is what many of them, not all of them, but many of them are doing.""Our museums have an obligation to represent what happened in our country over the years. Good and bad," Trump said. "But what happened over the years in an accurate way."AMERICAN HISTORY WON'T BE DISPLAYED IN A WOKE MANNER AT SMITHSONIAN, TRUMP SAYSThe White House said in a letter Tuesday the review would involve examining social media, exhibition text and educational materials to "assess tone, historical framing, and alignment with American ideals.""This initiative aims to ensure alignment with the Presidents directive to celebrate American exceptionalism, remove divisive or partisan narratives, and restore confidence in our shared cultural institutions," the letter said.WHITE HOUSE REVIEWING ALL SMITHSONIAN MUSEUM, EXHIBIT CONTENT BEFORE AMERICA 250 CELEBRATION IN 2026The Smithsonian told Fox News Digital it would coordinate with the White House, Congress and its governing Board of Regents on the matter."The Smithsonians work is grounded in a deep commitment to scholarly excellence, rigorous research and the accurate, factual presentation of history," the Smithsonian said in a statement.0 Commentarii 0 Distribuiri 19 Views 0 previzualizare

According to the Guinness Book of World Records, that mark consisted of him surfing at least three waves to shore every day.In an interview withSURFER in 2015, Webster told the magazine that the idea for surfing came about from a friend after he had already been on the board every day for more than two months.PRO SURFER MAKAI MCNAMARA PLACED IN MEDICALLY INDUCED COMA FOLLOWING TERRIFYING WIPEOUT"There was a solid south swell in September, and I surfed every day during the swell," Webster said at the time. "Each day the waves got better and better. After surfing 85 days straight, my friend said, You should try to surf for 100 consecutive days. When I got to 100, the story was in the local newspaper.
