Hunter Biden delivers profanity-laced response to Melania Trump's $1B notice for 'defamatory' Epstein remarks
Hunter Biden, in another profanity-laced interview, brushed off first lady Melania Trump's recent $1 billion legal notice over what she claims are "false, defamatory, disparaging and inflammatory statements.""F--- that. That's not gonna happen," Biden said during an interview with "Channel 5" podcaster Andrew Callaghan that was published to YouTube Thursday.Callaghan had offered Biden the opportunity to apologize to the first lady for a previous video interview titled "Hunter Biden Returns" earlier in August, when the former first son claimed "Epstein introduced Melania to Trump. The connections are, like, so wide and deep.""Mrs. Trump is seeking $1 billion in damages if we don't take the video down, and if Hunter here doesn't issue a formal apology to Mrs. Trump," Callaghan told Biden, before the former first son brushed off the notice. "So now we're here maybe to give you the platform to apologize to the first lady for your statements that you made about her possible connection to Jeffrey Epstein."FIRST LADY MELANIA TRUMP PUTS HUNTER BIDEN ON $1B NOTICE OVER 'FALSE, DEFAMATORY' EPSTEIN COMMENTSBiden doubled down in his most recent interview, and welcomed sitting down at a deposition over the matter."I also think they're bullies, and they think that a billion dollars is going to scare me," he said. "I have this to say to them: if they want to sit down for a deposition and clarify the nature of the relationship between Jeffrey Epstein if the president, the first lady, want to do that, and all of the known associates around them at the time of whatever time that they met I'm more than happy to provide them the platform to be able to do it."Fox News Digital exclusively obtained the letter that Alejandro Brito, an attorney serving as litigation counsel for the first lady, sent to Biden and his attorney, Abbe Lowell, Aug. 6.MELANIA TRUMP POSTS VICTORY X POST AFTER JAMES CARVILLE REMOVES PODCAST ALLEGING 'EPSTEIN CONNECTION'Brito demanded that Biden "immediately retract the false, defamatory, disparaging and inflammatory statements made about Mrs. Trump," which were contained in the "Channel 5" video published to YouTube in early August."Failure to comply will leave Mrs. Trump with no choice but to pursue any and all legal rights and remedies available to her to recover the overwhelming financial and reputational harm that you have caused her to suffer," Brito wrote.Biden had also claimed in the earlier interview that "Jeffrey Epstein introduced Melania, and thats how Melania and the first lady and the President met."TRUMP REVEALS MELANIA'S KEY ROLE IN DEALING WITH PUTIN ON UKRAINE WAR"These false, disparaging, defamatory and inflammatory statements are extremely salacious and have been widely disseminated throughout various digital mediums," Brito wrote. "Indeed, the video has since been re-published by various media outlets, journalists, and political commentators with millions of social media followers that have disseminated the false and defamatory statements therein to tens of millions of people worldwide."Brito added: "Consequently, you have caused Mrs. Trump to suffer overwhelming financial and reputational harm."Brito demanded, on behalf of the first lady, that Biden "immediately issue a full and fair retraction of the video and any and all other false, defamatory, disparaging, misleading and inflammatory statements about Mrs. Trump in as conspicuous a manner as they were originally published."He also demanded, on behalf of the first lady, that Biden "immediately issue an apology for the false, defamatory, disparaging, misleading and inflammatory statements about Mrs. Trump."Fox News Digital reached out to Biden attorney Lowell's office for any additional comment on the matter, but did not immediately receive a reply.

Cincinnati beatdown suspects arraigned on new charges; bond changes spark courtroom drama
Five of the seven individuals charged in the viral Cincinnati beatdown appeared in court Thursday morning to be arraigned on additional charges in a tense back-and-forth over the case. The first suspect to appear was Montanez Merriweather, who was slapped with an additional federal charge for illegally having a gun as a convicted felon earlier this week.Prosecutor Kip Guinan revealed there are two additional videos from nearby city cameras that show new angles of the fight but have not yet been made public. Guinan also said the alleged racial slurs made toward the perpetrators were said nearly two minutes after the attack began.CINCINNATI VIRAL BEATING SUSPECT HIT WITH FEDERAL GUN CHARGEThe judge determined Merriweathers bond would remain at $500,000.Dekyra Vernons bond was then knocked down from $200,000 to $25,000 at 10%, eliciting cheers from the gallery. She was also ordered to stay away from the citys downtown area.Vernons attorney, Clyde Bennett, argued that the case against his client had been inflamed due to race and politics, but in reality it was just a fight fueled by alcohol.SEVENTH CINCINNATI ASSAULT SUSPECT ARRESTED OVER VIOLENT BEATDOWNGuinan rebutted Bennetts argument, asserting that for him to believe the case is driven by race is offensive.Jermaine Matthews, who was initially released on bond shortly after the attack, was granted the same bond amount and is still permitted to go to work.Guinan argued that Matthews was the "leader" of the beatdown and one of the primary instigators, adding "this is the man who started it."However, Matthews attorney, Brandon Fox, insisted his client was "slapped" by a White man when the fight began.CINCINNATI VIRAL BEATING BODYCAM RELEASED AS SUSPECTS FACE NEW CHARGES IN GRAND JURY INDICTMENTDominique Kittle was then ordered to remain in custody pending a mental health evaluation, but his bond was kept the same.Kittles defense attorney revealed his client is a paranoid schizophrenic and was previously found not guilty on prior charges by reason of insanity. However, Guinan referred to Kittle as "a grave danger to the public" during his arraignment.Aisha Devaughn also received a lower bond, with the initial amount of $300,000 brought down to $25,000 after her attorney cited her lack of prior felonies.CINCINNATI RESIDENTS ON EDGE AFTER VIRAL BEATDOWN SPARKS CRIME CONCERNS: 'WHAT'S GONNA HAPPEN NEXT?'Guinan also said Devaughn allegedly inserted herself into the fight and was not initially provoked.Upon being led out of the courtroom, Matthews exclaimed, "[Im going to] go get her," before leaving the courtroom after Devaughns bond was lowered.Patrick Rosemond was expected to be present in court after being arrested in Georgia last week, but he has not yet been extradited to Ohio. He could potentially appear in court on Friday.CINCINNATI BRAWL TIMELINE: BRUTAL ASSAULT SPIRALS INTO NATIONAL FIRESTORMMatthews, Merriweather, Vernon, Devaughn, Rosemond and Kittleare each charged with three counts of alleged felonious assault, three charges of assault and two charges of aggravated rioting, the Hamilton County Prosecutor's Office confirmed to Fox News Digital. If convicted, they face the possibility of up to 30 years in prison.A seventh individual, Gregory Wright, was arrested earlier this week and is charged with alleged aggravated rioting and aggravated robbery. Each defendant has pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Jussie Smollett calls Chicago PD and Rahm Emanuel 'villains' while denying hate crime hoax
Actor Jussie Smollett on Wednesday offered fresh criticism of the Chicago Police Department (CPD) and the city's former mayor, Rahm Emanuel, calling them "villains" for their role in his conviction over an alleged hate crime hoax.Smollett, who is Black and gay, originally reported to Chicago police that he was the victim of a racist and homophobic attack by two men wearing ski masks in January 2019.He was convicted in 2021 of staging the hate crime himself, but it was later overturned by the Illinois Supreme Court on due process grounds, ruling that Smollett had originally reached an agreement with the state to avoid prosecution. The court did not rule on the actor's guilt or innocence in the case."The villains are the two people who assaulted me, the Chicago Police Department and, if I may be so brave, the mayor," Smollett told Variety, referencing Emanuel, who served as the mayor of Chicago from 2011 to 2019.JUSSIE SMOLLETT DONATES $50,000 TO CHARITY IN CHICAGO SETTLEMENT, MAINTAINS HIS INNOCENCEAccording to Variety, the former "Empire" star alleged that the "Chicago establishment" conspired to frame him and questioned whether Emanuel played a part in covering up evidence in the police killing of a Black teenager in Chicago a case that led a federal judge to order the CPD to adopt dozens of reforms just two days after Smollett reported being attacked."Could it be that they had just found out about the missing minutes and the missing tape from the murder of Laquan McDonald? Could it be that the mayor helped hide that?" Smollett asked, referencing the police killing of teenager Laquan McDonald in 2014. "Were living in a world where the higher-ups, their main mission, in order to do all of the underhanded things that theyre doing, is to distract us with the shiny object."Fox News Digital reached out to the CPD and former Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel for comment but did not immediately receive responses. Emanuel declined comment to Variety.Variety reported that Smollett became "worked up" as he maintained his original story, that he was attacked by two masked MAGA supporters who shouted racist and homophobic slurs at him before placing a noose around his neck and pouring bleach on him. While he refrained from criticizing the two brothers who claimed to have helped the actor stage the hate crime hoax, Smollett contended that he is the only person involved with the case whose story hasn't changed multiple times."All I can say is, God bless you, and I hope it was worth it," he told the outlet in reference to the brothers. "Every single other persons story has changed multiple times. Mine has never. I have nothing to gain from this."BROTHERS PAID BY JUSSIE SMOLLETT TO INSTIGATE 2019 HOAX APOLOGIZE TO COUNTRY, DIDN'T 'FORESEE' RAMIFICATIONSIn reference to an upcoming documentary by Netflix titled "The Truth About Jussie Smollett?" which hints that the actor may be innocent after all Variety asked Smollett why the "exculpatory evidence" of his innocence didn't emerge sooner."To be honest with you, I dont really know," he told the outlet. "Im not an investigative reporter or a detective. I cant sit and tell you exactly, beat by beat, what happened. I can only tell you what did not happen. And what did not happen is the story thats been out there for almost seven years, that somehow I would have even a reason to do something as egregious as this."Smollett also described how he felt once the CPD shifted its focus from investigating the alleged hate crime to investigating, and eventually arresting, the actor himself. The former "Empire" star likened his experience to that of the late "King of Pop," Michael Jackson, who faced multiple sexual abuse allegations and police investigations before and after his eventual death, which Smollett suggested were part of a broader conspiracy.CLICK HERE FOR MORE COVERAGE OF MEDIA AND CULTURE"I saw firsthand how narratives are built. I saw firsthand the way that someone can take the exact opposite of who you are and literally sell it," he told the outlet. "And people will be like, I believe it! God rest his soul, but homeboy Michael Jackson tried to warn us."CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APPSmollett reached a settlement with the City of Chicago in May, agreeing to donate $50,000 to charity as part of the agreement to have a lawsuit against him dismissed.Fox News' Lauryn Overhultz contributed to this report.

Newsom unveiling California redistricting effort to counter Trump-backed push in Texas
California is center stage on Thursday in the national battle over congressional redistricting ahead of next year's midterm elections.Two-term Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom will team up with congressional Democrats and legislative leaders in the heavily blue state at an event in Los Angeles. That's where they're expected to unveil their game plan to counter the push by President Donald Trump and Republicans to create up to five GOP-friendly congressional districts in red state Texas at the expense of currently Democrat-controlled seats."If you will not stand down, I will be forced to lead an effort to redraw the maps in California to offset the rigging of maps in red states," Newsom said in a recent letter to the president.NEWSOM VOWS TO FIGHT FIRE WITH FIRE IN CONGRESSIONAL REDISTRICTING BATTLEAnd he argued that Trump was "playing with fire" with his push for rarebut not unheard ofmid-decade redistricting.Newsom says Trump missed a deadline to stand down on his push to redistrict in Texas."DONALD TACO TRUMP, AS MANY CALL HIM, MISSED THE DEADLINE!!! CALIFORNIA WILL NOW DRAW NEW, MORE BEAUTIFUL MAPS, THEY WILL BE HISTORIC AS THEY WILL END THE TRUMP PRESIDENCY (DEMS TAKE BACK THE HOUSE!)," Newsom wrote earlier this week in a social media post posted by his press office, which was meant to mock how Trump writes his own social media posts."BIG PRESS CONFERENCE THIS WEEK WITH POWERFUL DEMS AND GAVIN NEWSOM YOUR FAVORITE GOVERNOR THAT WILL BE DEVASTATING FOR MAGA. THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER! GN," he added. The Republican push in Texas, which comes at Trump's urging, is part of a broader effort by the GOP across the country to pad their razor-thin House majority to keep control of the chamber in the 2026 midterms, when the party in power traditionally faces political headwinds and loses seats.NEWSOM DEMANDS TRUMP GIVE UP TEXAS REDISTRICTING PUSHTrump and his political team are aiming to prevent what happened during his first term in the White House, when Democrats stormed back to grab the House majority in the 2018 midterms. But while the Republican push in Texas to upend the current congressional maps doesn't face constitutional constraints, Newsom's path in California is much more complicated. In Texas, Republicans plan to enact the new maps they drew up once enough state Democratic lawmakers who fled the state to prevent the legislature from passing the measure return to Texas. The governor is moving to hold a special election this year, to obtain voter approval to undo the constitutional amendments that created the non-partisan redistricting commission. A two-thirds majority vote in the Democrat-dominated California legislature would be needed to hold the referendum.Democratic Party leaders are confident they'll have the votes to push the constitutional amendment and the new proposed congressional maps through the legislature.Thursday's news conference by Newsom, who is considered a likely contender for the 2028 Democratic presidential nomination, will also serve as a fundraising kickoff to raise massive amounts of campaign cash needed to sell the redistricting push statewide in California.SCHWARZENEGGER'S NEW STARING ROLE: PUSHING BACK AGAINST NEWSOM'S REDISTRICTING DRIVEThe non-partisan redistricting commission, created over 15 years ago, remains popular with most Californians, according to public opinion polling. That's why Newsom and California Democratic lawmakers are promising not to scrap the commission entirely, but rather replace it temporarily by the legislature for the next three election cycles. But their efforts are opposed by a number of coalition of figures supportive of the non-partisan commission.Among the most visible members is former Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, the last Republican elected governor in Democrat-dominated California.Schwarzenegger, during his tenure as governor, had a starring role in the passage of constitutional amendments in California in 2008 and 2010 that took the power to draw state legislative and congressional districts away from politicians and place it in the hands of an independent commission."Most people don't really think about an independent commission much, one way or another. And that's both an opportunity and a challenge for Newsom," Jack Pitney, an American politics professor at California's Claremont McKenna College, told Fox News. But he added that "it's going to take a lot of effort and money to energize Democrats and motivate them to show up at the polls" and that Newsom's effort "is all about motivating people who don't like Trump."

NJ police chief says 'out of control' kids forced new town law that could put parents behind bars
"Out of control" teens have turned community events into battlegrounds in one New Jersey town, prompting a new law that could send parents to jail for their childrens misbehavior."More and more, our officers are running into disrespectful, out-of-control behavior by juveniles" said David Harkins, chief of the Gloucester Township Police Department."This ordinance is just another way of us trying to change the course and make parents responsible or at least know where their children are and what theyre up to."PARENTS COULD FACE JAIL TIME UNDER NEW JERSEY TOWN'S ORDINANCE TARGETING CHILDREN'S UNRULY BEHAVIORAccording to the Township of Gloucester Minors and Parents Responsibility Ordinance, if a child is repeatedly found guilty of loitering, repeated school absences, violating curfew, felonies or other offenses, their parents could face up to 90 days in prison and a $2,000 fine. For evidence, Harkins told "Fox & Friends" of a brawl from last year at the Gloucester Township Day and Drone Show, which left three officers injured and nine teenagers in police custody. The same event was postponed this year, NJ.com reported, because social media posts suggested similar behavior was planned. The town is located about 15 miles outside of Philadelphia, Pa.SOCIAL MEDIA-FUELED TEEN FLASH MOBS PROMPT CLOSURES OF BUSINESSES AND PUBLIC CENTERS NATIONWIDE"Something's got to change. We've got to get our kids back on track," Harkins said."They've got to stop acting crazy and get respect back for law enforcement."Harkins said the ordinance acknowledges some parents' concerns that they are not allowed to be as involved with their children as they would like in key areas, namely in the education system.Instead of "taking control" of a family, however, the measure aims to inform parents so they can take "corrective action.""We recognize how important being a parent is I want to get back to where the parents know what their kids are doing, they know where they're going and who they're hanging around with. And if my child were to get in trouble, I would want to know about that and know that I'm going to be responsible so that we can take corrective action."Harkins also acknowledged that some parents may struggle to get their child to behave, but noted that there are measures in place to help juveniles correct their bad behavior, namely a full-time social worker who works alongside juvenile unit detectives.Fox News' Brie Stimson contributed to this report.

EXCLUSIVE: Trump-aligned legal group files FOIA request for DC crime data, citing alleged manipulation
FIRST ON FOX A pro-Trump legal group founded by White House aide Stephen Miller filed a FOIA request Thursday seeking all crime records and data compiled by the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department, as part of an effort to scrutinize information and crime statistics that senior adminis tration officials allege have been "manipulated."The request by the America First Legal Foundation (AFL) includes demands for a wide range of documents from D.C.'s police force, including all email communications or internal guidance reflecting any changes in the department's tracking or reporting of crimes in the city, as well as any records "reflecting the falsification or non-publication" of crime data and statistics, among other things. It is part of a broader investigation AFL launched on Thursday, just four days after President Donald Trump issued his order to temporarily federalize D.C. both by deploying hundreds of D.C. National Guard troops into the city, and temporarily taking federal control of D.C.'s police force to crack down on crime. In the FOIA request, AFL also asked for records of "all communications" related to Michael Pulliam, the D.C. police officer who was placed on administrative leave in May, after he was accused of changing crime statistics to minimize crimes.TRUMP'S EXECUTIVE ORDER ON VOTING BLOCKED BY FEDERAL JUDGES AMID FLURRY OF LEGAL SETBACKSPulliam formerly served as a police commander for the Metropolitan Police Department's Third District, which includes Adams Morgan and Columbia Heights. The Pulliam investigation has become something of a political lightning rod in recent days, as Trump officials have pointed to the investigation and his leave as evidence that MPD has sought to manipulate or massage crime statistics in the nation's capital.News of the AFL probe comes as President Donald Trump and White House officials have blasted what they describe as a "ridiculous" amount of crime in D.C., and claimed repeatedly that the crime statistics in question might not be an accurate portrayal of the situation on the ground something critics argue is simply justification for the administration to push through its executive order.White House deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller told NewsNation in an interview earlier this week that Washington, D.C., "is more violent than Baghdad.""As each day passes, new horrific examples of violent crime are reported across the district," AFL's lead attorney, Will Scolinos, told Fox News Digital in a statement. "AFL is investigating whether, as described by recent reports, official D.C. crime statistics may have been deliberately falsified to make the city seem safer than it is.""President Trump has stepped up to make Washington D.C. safer for all residents and visitors to the nations capitalbut the Left is lockstep in defending D.C. as safe enough.'" Scolinos added. "Americans know better."Trump, in his August 11 executive order, declared a "crime emergency" in the nation's capital. That order invokes Section 740 of D.C.'s Home Rule Act, saying that federal control of the Metropolitan Police Department is needed to maintain law and order in D.C to protect the nation's capital including federal buildings, property, and monuments and to ensure "conditions necessary" for the orderly functioning of the federal government.TRUMP IS THREATENING TO 'FEDERALIZE' DC WITH NATIONAL GUARD AND MORE. HERE'S HOW THAT COULD PLAY OUTIn announcing their investigation Thursday, the AFL also cited a report published Thursday morning by the Washington Free Beacon involving a D.C. settlement agreement with a former police sergeant, Charlotte Djossou, who allegedly sued MPD leaders in 2020 for "misclassifying offenses" to deflate D.C. crime statistics. That settlement was not included in AFL's FOIA request, and Fox News Digital could not immediately confirm the details of the report, or the nature of the settlement agreement in question.Still, news of the AFL probe comes as senior Trump officials and allies of the president have seized on the Pulliam investigation as a means of calling into question the accuracy of federal crime data in D.C. The administration has sought to undermine preliminary federal statistics published in January 2025 that said violent crime in the nation's capital had dropped to its lowest point in more than 30 years.FEDERAL JUDGES GRILL TRUMP LAWYERS OVER 'LIBERATION DAY' TARIFFS ON EVE OF ENFORCEMENTD.C. officials, for their part, have conceded that the drop in violent crime might be overstated (data on the MPD website now shows a 26% drop between 2023 and 2024).But they've pushed back on the notion that artificially deflated crime data is to blame. In an interview with NBC News earlier this week, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser said that a recent review of all MPD crime data found 552 fewer victims of violent crime in the first eight months of 2025, compared to the same period in 2024. Crime is down across all seven districts, with anomalies in just one, she told NBC."Any comparison to a war-torn country is hyperbolic and false," she said in a televised interview Sunday.America First Legal, though not officially part of the Trump administration, was founded by longtime Trump advisor Stephen Miller after Trump's first presidential term. Miller stepped down from AFL before rejoining the White House in 2025 as Trump's deputy chief of staff.
