Charlamagne suggests Kamala Harris should start a podcast instead of seeking elected office again
Radio host Charlamagne tha God argued on Thursday that former Vice President Kamala Harris time in electoral politics is over, but there could still be a role for her in the Democratic Party.Harris made headlines this week with her announcement that she will not be running in 2026 to be the governor of her home state of California. In her statement explaining her decision, Harris said, "For now, my leadership and public service will not be in elected office."She added, "I look forward to getting back out and listening to the American people, helping elect Democrats across the nation who will fight fearlessly, and sharing more details in the months ahead about my own plans.""Breakfast Club" co-host Morgyn Wood noted that the announcement "comes as speculation remains regarding the former presidential candidate possibly running for the White House again in 2028." Wood turned to Charlamagne to ask whether Democrats need "new blood" instead.CHARLAMAGNE CRITICIZES OBAMA'S 'MIND-BOGGLING' ADVICE TO DEMOCRATS AS TOO LITTLE, TOO LATE"Yeah," Charlamagne agreed on her not running again in 2028, but added, "I think Kamala can definitely be a leader in the Democratic Party."Charlamagne laid out a plan for how Harris could ingratiate herself with Americans as a cultural figurehead rather than a candidate lobbying for their support. He argued that over the past five years, much of Harris strategy with public engagement has been "transactional;" interacting with the American people only to solicit their support via votes. With a new shift to being a purely cultural leader for the Democratic Party, the American people could get to know Harris as a person, something he says they were never adequately able to do before. After another co-host speculated that ingratiating herself with the public could have changed the course of the 2024 election, Charlamagne argued that the electoral prospects of Harris and the current crop of Democrats look decisively grim going forward."I don't know if she should run again, but I definitely would like to see her write a book. I definitely would like to, you know, see her start a podcast and just build a real connection with people, you know, and she is - I mean relatively young," Charlamagne said. "I just don't know what's going to happen in 2028, man. I just think Democrats suck so bad. I don't - I don't know."Harris announced Thursday she will be releasing a book about the 107 days of her failed presidential campaign.CLICK HERE FOR MORE COVERAGE OF MEDIA AND CULTUREFOX News Channels Lara Trump will present an exclusive interview with Charlamagne on Saturday, August 2 during "My View with Lara Trump"(9-10 PM/ET).During the interview, Lara Trump and Charlamagne will discuss the NYC mayoral race, the state of the Democratic Party and President Trumps second term so far. Charlamagne will also share his own struggles with addiction, his mental health journey and other news of the day.

Daily Beast pulls story alleging Melania-Epstein connection after lawyers dispute framing
The Daily Beast has pulled an article detailing allegations by journalist Michael Wolff that Melania Trump was introduced to her husband Donald Trump via a modeling agent connected to Jeffrey Epstein, after a challenge from the first ladys lawyers."Editors Note. After this story was published, The Beast received a letter from First Lady Melania Trumps attorney challenging the headline and framing of the article. After reviewing the matter, the Beast has taken down the article and apologizes for any confusion or misunderstanding," The Daily Beast posted in place of the article. The hyperlink to the article appears to have been amended to : https://www.thedailybeast.com/epstein-this-story-has-been-removed/.Wolff initially made the scandalous allegations in an interview with Daily Beast chief content officer Joanna Coles for The Daily Beast Podcast, Saturday. The two were discussing Trumps alleged connections with the disgraced New York financier. The two were friends for many years, but ultimately had a falling out. The president claimed Tuesday that Epstein had been stealing staff from his Mar-a-Lago club in Florida. Epstein killed himself in a Manhattan prison while awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking of minors charges. Wolff claimed Melania was "very involved in this Epstein relationship."JEFFREY EPSTEIN THROWN OUT OF MAR-A-LAGO FOR HIRING THE HELP: TRUMP"[Melania] was very involved in this Epstein relationship. There is this model thing, and shes introduced by a model agent, both of whom Trump and Epstein are involved with. Shes introduced to Trump that way, Epstein knows her well," Wolff alleged.President Trump has been dogged by demands by his MAGA base to release the so-called "Epstein files" after a series of missteps by his Attorney General, Pam Bondi. Bondi had distributed binders labeled "Epstein Files: Phase One" to a handful of conservative influencers in February. The binders failed to include any heretofore unknown details surrounding the case which has been a magnet for unfounded conspiracy theories alleging that Epstein was an intelligence agent sexually blackmailing Americas most powerful figures whose death wasnt actually a suicide which caused an outcry among the presidents most online supporters.Bondi subsequently made comments that some interpreted to mean an Epstein client list was "sitting" on her desk, though she later clarified in June that she was referring to the Epstein file, not a "client list." The DOJ ultimately released a two-page memo that denied a "client list" existed and claimed there was no "credible evidence" Epstein had blackmailed other individuals via his sex trafficking activities. The DOJ memo failed to quell the furor in Trumps base for greater transparency in the Epstein case, prompting Trumps ire.CLICK HERE FOR MORE COVERAGE OF MEDIA AND CULTURETrump has disavowed his supporters who remain fixated on the Epstein scandal, labeling them "weaklings" who are buying into a "hoax" orchestrated by the Democrats."Their new SCAM is what we will forever call the Jeffrey Epstein Hoax, and my PAST supporters have bought into this bullshit, hook, line, and sinker, they havent learned their lesson, and probably never will, even after being conned by the Lunatic Left for 8 long years," Trump wrote on TruthSocial.Wolffs credibility in the journalism industry has faced scrutiny. In 2018, the journalist told Bill Maher he had evidence that President Trump was having an affair and claimed that a clue to his mistress identity could be found at the end of his White House tell-all "Fire and Fury." Readers identified passages that seemed to implicate then-UN Ambassador Nikki Haley. Haley called the insinuation "disgusting" and "highly offensive."In a subsequent interview on "Morning Joe," Wolff denied that he ever insinuated Haley was having an affair with Trump, but then said he "found it puzzling that she would deny something she was not accused of," prompting co-host Mika Brzezinskito accuse him of "having fun slurring a woman" and end the interview abruptly. Multiple figures in Trumps orbit also denied having made quotes attributed to them in "Fire and Fury.""The scenes in his columns arent recreated so much as created springing from Wolffs imagination rather than from actual knowledge of events," Michell Cottle wrote of Wolffs reporting style in a profile in the New Republic.Michael Wolff told Fox News Digital that he had nothing to do with the article. The Daily Beast and the White House didn't immediately respond to a request for comment.

In 93 games, Correa has a .267 batting average with seven home runs and 31 RBI.The Astros (62-47) lead the American League West by five games and are well positioned for a deep playoff run.In return, the Twins acquired minor league left-handed pitcher Matt Mikulski. The Twins are also paying $33 million of the $91.5 million owed to Correa through the 2028 season, according to ESPN. ASTROS BRING BACK CARLOS CORREA IN MLB TRADE DEADLINE DEAL WITH TWINS: REPORTSYankees general manager Brian Cashman acquired seven players beforfe the trade deadline, three relievers and four position players. The Yankees' bullpen has been a major weakness as of late with a 6.38 ERA over the last 27 games. The Yankees acquired two-time All-Star David Bednar from the Pittsburgh Pirates, All-Star Camilo Doval from the San Francisco Giants and Jake Bird from the Colorado Rockies.Bednar, 30, had a 2.37 ERA with 17 saves in 38 innings for the Pirates. Doval, 28, has a 3.09 ERA with 15 saves in 46.2 innings. Bird, 26, has a 4.73 ERA in 53.1 innings pitched.YANKEES TO ACQUIRE ALL-STAR CLOSER DAVID BEDNAR FROM PIRATES BEFORE MLB DEADLINE: REPORTSThe Yankees also acquired utility player Amed Rosario from the Washington Nationals, outfielder Austin Slater from the Chicago White Sox and utility player Jose Caballero from the Tampa Bay Rays.Rosario and Slaten have strong numbers against left-handed pitchers, while Caballero is tied for the MLB lead in steals (34).Last week, the Yankees acquired third baseman Ryan McMahon from the Rockies to shore up the hot corner. The Yankees (60-49) hold a wild-card spot in the American League and are chasing the Toronto Blue Jays for first place in the American League East. The Mets made a few moves before the deadline to strengthen their bullpen, acquiring two-time All-Star reliever Gregory Soto from theBaltimore Orioles, setup man Tyler Rogers from the San Francisco Giants and two-time All-Star closer Ryan Helsley from the St. Louis Cardinals.Soto has a 3.79 ERA with 46 strikeouts in 38 innings between the Orioles and Mets this season. Rogers has been great forthe Giants, pitching to a 1.80 ERA in 50 innings. Helsley recorded 21 saves with a 3.00 ERA for the Cardinals.PADRES ACQUIRE ALL-STAR CLOSER MASON MILLER FROM ATHLETICS IN BLOCKBUSTER DEAL BEFORE TRADE DEADLINEThey also filled their hole in center field, acquiring All-Star Cedric Mullins from the Orioles Thursday.Mullins plays a strong center field and has a .229 batting average with 15 home runs and 49 RBI, but he has been hot lately. The Mets(62-47) hold a half-game lead over the Phillies (61-47) for first place in the NL East.Padres general manager A.J. Preller is known to be aggressive, and he did nothing to change his reputation Thursday as he went out and acquired seven players. The Padres acquired All-Star closer Mason Miller and starting pitcher JP Sears from the Athletics, but the price was steep. They gave up one of the top prospects in the sport in Leo De Vries. They also gave up three pitching prospects, sending Braden Nett, Henry Baez and Eduarniel Nez to the Athletics.Miller, 26, routinely throws over 100 mph on his fastball. On the season, Miller had a 3.76 ERA with 20 saves in 38.1 innings for the Athletics for this season.Sears, 26, will be a back-of-the-rotation starter for the Padres. He has a 7-9 record and 4.95 ERA in 22 starts this season. After Preller pulled off the blockbuster trade with the Athletics, he acquired All-Star first baseman Ryan OHearn and outfielder Ramn Laureano from the Orioles.OHearn, 32, has had a great season with the Orioles, hitting .283 with 13 home runs and 43 RBIs. Laureano, 31, has also had a strong season offensively with a .290 batting average, 15 home runs and 46 RBIs while playing strong defense. The Padres also acquired catcher Freddy Fermin from the Kansas City Royals and infielder Will Wagner from the Toronto Blue Jays. Both players will provide depth on the bench. The final move the Padres made was acquiring All-Star starting pitcher Nestor Cortes from the Milwaukee Brewers. Cortes has only made two starts this season after being placed on the injured list with a left elbow flexor strain. The Padres (60-49) hope their litany of deadline moves is enough to catch the Los Angeles Dodgers (63-46) for first place in the National League West.Follow Fox News Digitals sports coverage on X, and subscribe to the Fox News Sports Huddle newsletter.

Commanders' Terry McLaurin requests as contract dispute takes shocking twist
Things just got interesting for the Washington Commanders, as star wide receiver Terry McLaurin, who has been holding in at training camp, reportedly requested a trade. The Commanders and McLaurin have not been seeing eye to eye on a contract extension, and NFL insider Jordan Schultz reported Thursday that McLaurin now wants out.It appeared this contract situation would lead to a trade request by McLaurin, but he reported to training camp earlier this week. He was placed on the active/PUP list due to an ankle injury.CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COMMcLaurin, who has totaled over 1,000 yards in each of his last five seasons, has one year remaining on his $71 million deal he signed with Washington in 2022.McLaurin is looking to be among the top pass catchers in the league financially, with a deal believed to be around $32 million per season.JERRY JONES FACES 'PAY MICAH' CHANTS FROM COWBOYS FANS AT TRAINING CAMP SESSIONIf McLaurin were to get a deal with that average annual value, it would have him just outside the upper echelon of receivers in the NFL. Cincinnati Bengals JaMarr Chase, Minnesota Vikings Justin Jefferson and Dallas Cowboys CeeDee Lamb are the highest-paid receivers in the NFL today, respectively. The current asking price for McLaurin would have him in the range of Pittsburgh Steelers D.K. Metcalf ($33 million per season), New York Jets Garrett Wilson ($32.5 million) and Philadelphia Eagles A.J. Brown ($32 million). But while Metcalf is two years younger than McLaurin, for example, they are in the same draft class. And they have some comparable stats.Metcalf totaled 438 receptions for 6,324 yards and 48 touchdowns in his time with the Seattle Seahawks. McLaurin has tallied 460 receptions for 6,379 yards with 38 scores.McLaurin held out the first four days of training camp, which carried a $50,000 fine per day. By reporting to camp and being a hold-in, McLaurin avoids any more fines from Washington.Multiple outlets have reported that the Commanders have no intent to trade McLaurin, who would be a free agent after the season if a deal is not agreed upon."Youd like to get these things done quicker, but it doesnt always happen that way," GM Adam Peters said on the first day of training camp, per ESPN."Whatever happens along the way, just understand hes a great player and we want to keep him here."Follow Fox News Digitalssports coverage on X, and subscribe tothe Fox News Sports Huddle newsletter.
