Texas Democrats preparing state exodus to block GOP redistricting despite $500 daily fines
Texas Democrats are preparing to flee the state to prevent Republicans from passing a key redistricting plan that threatens Democrats' ability to retake the House of Representatives in 2026.The strategy of Texas Democrats is to prevent Republicans from having the necessary quorum of lawmakers to pass a redistricting plan. Taking such drastic measures would come at a cost, however, as state rules impose a $500 fine for each day a lawmaker absconds from the legislature. Nevertheless, lawmakers in the state are already shoring up funds to cover that expense, according to the Texas Tribune.Texas Republicans imposed the $500-a-day fine in 2023, two years after their Democratic counterparts first left the state en masse in an unsuccessful effort to foil GOP priorities. One more roadblock Democrats face with their plan this year is that Texas House rules ban lawmakers from using campaign funds to pay the fines. Despite this, Democrats clued into the fundraising plans told the Tribune that they are confident they have found a way to legally distribute fundraising to lawmakers.21 DEMOCRATS WHO MAY TRY TO SUCCEED TRUMP IN THE 2028 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONState Rep. James Talarico, a Democrat, is set to meet with House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries in Texas later on Wednesday. He told Politico that he would be willing to flee the state under the Democratic plan, "if we get to that point."Rep. Jasmine Crockett, D-Texas, served in the Texas legislature in 2021 and participated in the Democratic exodus to Washington, D.C. that year. She argued to the Tribune that limits on external income are so minimal for Texas lawmakers that they could simply classify donations as an alternate salary before using them to pay the daily fines.TEXAS GOV SAYS DEMS WHO FLED STATE OVER ELECTIONS BILL WILL BE ARRESTED UPON RETURNMeanwhile, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has threatened to arrest any lawmaker who breaks quorum."If Democrats ignore their duty to their constituents by breaking quorum, they should be found and arrested no matter where they go. The people of Texas elected them to do a job, not run away and hide like cowards," Paxton said earlier this month.PELOSI'S STOCK TRADING LEGACY HAUNTS DEMOCRATS AS JEFFRIES SLAMS GOP FRESHMAN'S 'THIEVERY'"My office stands ready to assist local, state, and federal authorities in hunting down and compelling the attendance of anyone who abandons their office and their constituents for cheap political theater," he added.Texas' congressional delegation currently has a 25-12 split favoring Republicans, with one seat vacant. State Republicans have yet to unveil the finalized new plan, but the party is looking to expand that split to secure extra padding to keep the House of Representatives in 2026.

Bengals star Trey Hendrickson set to end lengthy training camp holdout without new contract in place: report
One of the biggest holdouts in the NFL preseason has come to an end.Cincinnati Bengals star defensive end Trey Hendrickson, the leagues leader in sacks a year ago, has agreed to end his holdout amid a contract dispute, per ESPN.The only problem is Hendrickson is still without the contract extension hes been looking for from Cincinnati all offseason.CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COMHendricksons committal to training camp, though, could perhaps expedite the process to get the 30-year-old inked long-term.Hendrickson was the final player in the league who held out of training camp, as others, like Washington Commanders receiver Terry McLaurin, stood their ground for a bit before joining their teammates.BENGALS END TENSE STANDOFF WITH FIRST-ROUND PICK SHEMAR STEWART WITH SIGNING OF HIS ROOKIE DEALHendrickson said last week that he was in Jacksonville, Florida, where he explained the contract situation from his point of view with the Bengals."I spent the last 30 days at my home in Cincinnati, which is across the river from the stadium," Hendrickson said, via The Athletic. "We were given two offers within a 24-hour period, and [neither] of them had the guarantees we were looking for. I wanted to be there, but theres no way I would be able to sit there in the house and hear the practice whistles while also being a distraction. I dont want to ruin the other 10 guys 2025 season on my contract language."Hendrickson added that he would take a contract with less money, but the guarantees are what matters. While Bengals President Mike Brown said the team would not be trading Hendrickson, he did say "were working to get Trey re-signed as we speak.""And I think it will get done," he said, via The New York Post. The Bengals have not been seen in the best light this offseason, as first-round pick Shemar Stewart also dealt with similar contract issues. He had an issue with contractual language that could void his guaranteed money, but he ultimately signed a full-guaranteed $18.7 million rookie deal last week with $10.4 million as a signing bonus. Its unknown if or when Hendrickson and the Bengals will reach common ground, but a step in the right direction is the All-Pro heading into the building to prepare for the 2025 season with his teammates.Hendrickson, who has made the Pro Bowl every year hes been with Cincinnati since 2021 he spent the first four of his eight NFL seasons with the New Orleans Saints had 17.5 sacks last season, just like he did in 2023.He has cemented himself as one of the leagues best pass rushers, and hes looking to be paid as such. Two of the Bengals AFC North rivals, the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cleveland Browns, paid their two pass rushing studs this offseason as well. Browns Myles Garrett was first with a deal that paid him $40 million per season to become the highest-paid non-quarterback in the league, and the Steelers broke that with Watts deal, worth $41 million per year.Follow Fox News Digitalssports coverage on X, and subscribe tothe Fox News Sports Huddle newsletter.

ABC News The View has had 102 liberal guests in 2025 without a single conservative: study
ABC News "The View" continued to display an overwhelming lack of balance during the first seven months of 2025 with 102 left-leaning guests and zero conservatives, according to the Media Research Center (MRC).MRCs NewsBusters analyzed every episode of "The View" from January 6, when the program returned from a winter hiatus through July 25, and found that it failed to book a single right-leaning guest to discuss politics. The MRC previously found in April that the ABC News program booked 63 liberal guests and zero conservatives, so the media watchdog continued to monitor "The View" and determined that nothing had changed."The View is not shy about the fact that what they say and do is all meant to push the agenda of the Democratic Party, whether its smearing Trump and his allies or specifically elevating Democratic politicians. Its why theyve only spoken to liberals about politics on the show so far this year," NewsBusters associate editor Nicholas Fondacaro told Fox News Digital.JOY BEHAR GIVES WILD THEORY ABOUT HOW TRUMP'S USING ROSIE O'DONNELL TO DISTRACT FROM EPSTEIN"ABC needs to examine the show and plot a better course for their next season," Fondacaro, who conducted the study, continued. "The View was started by Barbara Walters to be a place where women came together to express their views. Now, the title is more than a name. Its how the show functions: only one view."Former President Joe Biden, Sen. Tammy Duckworth, D-Ill., Sen.John Fetterman, D-Pa., Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, Sen.Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass.,Rep. Jasmine Crockett, D-Texas,Sen. Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn., Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker, Sen.Elissa Slotkin, D-Mich., Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y.,Maryland Gov. Wes Moore and Rep. Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., were among the 19 Democratic politicians who joined "The View" in 2025."Theres a reason Biden chose them to be the venue for his failed attempt to push back on the allegations of his mental decline. His handlers knew they would coddle him, and they did," Fondacaro told Fox News Digital, referring to the May interview with the former president, who was accompanied by former first lady Jill Biden. The program also welcomed Obama administration staffers turned podcasters Jon Favreau, Jon Lovett, and Tommy Vietor, along with former Biden press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre. The rest of the 102 lefty guests were a medley of figures from Hollywood, liberal journalists and other outspoken celebrities, according to the MRC.Along the way, "The View" failed to book any conservatives, according to the MRC."The closest they came was former California Governor and Harris 2024 voter Arnold Schwarzenegger on June 17s show, who advocated for liberal immigration reform," Fondacaro said.SHOULD DEMOCRATS DO SOMETHING ABOUT THE VIEW? MEDIA WATCHDOGS DIFFER ON SHOW'S INFLUENCEEva Longoria, Mark Hamill, Julieanne Moore, Mario Cantone, Amber Ruffin, Wanda Sykes, Ezra Klein, Scott Galloway, Jose Andres, and Gloria Steinem were among the liberals on the program. The Media Research Center explained its methodology: "For a guest to be counted as either liberal or conservative, they needed to express such views during their appearance on The View. If a celebrity did not discuss politics, they were not included in the count of political leanings even if they had a history of being outspoken in the past. For example, actor Robert De Niro had a history of speaking out against President Trump, but was not included in the liberal count because politics did not come up."Co-host Sara Haines admitted what was already obvious shortly after Trump's inauguration in January: None of the six hosts, including its two token Republicans Ana Navarro and Alyssa Farah Griffin, voted for him.Navarro is outspokenly progressive and even hosted a night of the 2024 Democratic National Convention. Griffin is a former Trump aide who has become a sharp critic since the end of his first term.ABC, NBC AND CBS SLAP TRUMP WITH 92% NEGATIVE COVERAGE, STUDY FINDSFondacaro said that the last time "The View" brought on a guest to defend President Trump was when Gov. Chris Sununu joined the program in August 2024."The View" did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Fox News Digital. An ABC News insider, who said network bookers have met with Senate press secretaries from both sides of the aisle, pushed back on the initial version of the study."This study seems to ascribe political leanings to guests even when politics were not discussed. Celebrity guests are not booked because of their political leanings, they are booked on the show to promote their projects," the insider told Fox News Digital in April.Fondacaro also noticed "The View" co-hosts essentially stopped reading on-air legal disclaimers."The View has undergone some major changes since last year, which proves it has gotten more extreme. Prior to their winter break, the cast would defend and praise their reliance on legal notes, only to abandon the practice altogether in the latter half of the season," Fondacaro said.

'Never again' requires vigilance as antisemitism spreads through elite institutions and campuses
In recent months, we have witnessed a disturbing acceleration of antisemitism across the United States. From Ivy League campuses to major cities, Jewish Americans are being singled out, threatened and in far too many cases silenced. The hatred is overt and unashamed. The institutions that once championed pluralism and free expression are increasingly impotent in the face of ancient prejudices repackaged for modern times. This is not merely a Jewish crisis. It is an American one. And it is a moral one.At Yad Vashem USA Foundation, we are guided by a singular mission and by my personal family connection to the Holocaust to ensure that the memory of the Holocaust is never relegated to the margins of history but remains central to our collective moral vision.THIS ISNT JUST ABOUT THE JEWS. IT NEVER WASYad Vashem in Jerusalem is not just a museum. It is the conscience of humanity. It preserves the names, the testimonies and the lived experiences of 6 million Jews murdered not for what they did, but for who they were.We support this sacred work because we understand a profound truth that forgetting is a precondition for repeating. The phrase "never again" is often uttered. But too rarely is it lived. It is not enough to remember the Holocaust as a historical atrocity. We must internalize it as a warning. The Holocaust did not begin with Auschwitz. It began with words. With disinformation. With dehumanization. With neighbors turning away. With silence from those who knew better.Today, we are again hearing the rhetoric that corrodes civil society. The conspiracies that deny Jewish belonging. The chants that call for Jewish eradication. And, alarmingly, we are seeing it increasingly tolerated in elite institutions in the name of nuance, in the name of activism.SIGN UP FOR ANTISEMITISM EXPOSED NEWSLETTERLet us be clear: There is no cause on earth that justifies the hatred of Jews. History has proven, time and again, that when antisemitism is unleashed, it does not remain contained. It infects the broader body politic. It hollows out democracies. It numbs the moral sensibilities of entire societies. This is precisely why Holocaust remembrance is not merely an act of Jewish continuity. It is also a universal imperative.CLICK HERE FOR MORE FOX NEWS OPINIONAt the Yad Vashem USA Foundation, we bring these lessons to life. We fund programs that bring Holocaust education into American classrooms. We are leading research that enables a profound and accurate understanding of the events of the Holocaust and their consequences in an era of post-truth. We support cutting-edge digital archives and immersive exhibits. We enable scholars and educators to teach the Holocaust not only as a chronicle of tragedy but as a framework for understanding the fragility of civilization and the responsibility of the individual. We also recognize that we are at an inflection point. Fewer survivors remain to tell their stories. Fewer firsthand witnesses walk among us. Soon, the burden of memory will fall entirely on our shoulders. That is both a privilege and a test. If we do not rise to meet it, we risk allowing the memory of the Holocaust to be distorted, diluted or erased. In a moment when the truth itself is under siege, the preservation of historical integrity is an act of moral resistance. It is why we must not only educate minds, but stir consciences. We need leaders across the political spectrum, across faith traditions, across institutions to speak with moral clarity. To say unequivocally that antisemitism has no justification. No context. No place in a free society. And we need Americans of every background to join us, not out of charity, but out of shared destiny. Because the lessons of the Holocaust are not just Jewish lessons. They are human lessons. As the world becomes more polarized, more volatile and more vulnerable to ideological extremism, we believe the antidote begins with memory, with the courage to remember not only what was done but what was allowed to happen."Never again" is not a statement of hindsight. It is a call to vigilance. At Yad Vashem USA, we take that call seriously. We ask you to join us in honoring the past, confronting the present and safeguarding the future. The path forward begins with remembrance.

Giants' Heliot Ramos suffers mind-boggling baserunning mistake in loss to Pirates: 'Mental error'
San Francisco Giants outfielder Heliot Ramos committed a bizarre baserunning blunder in the teams 3-1 loss to the Pittsburgh Pirates on Tuesday night.Matt Chapman was at the plate with Ramos on second base and Wlily Adames on first base in the bottom of the first inning. Pirates pitcher Bailey Falter got Chapman to pop up in front of the mound.CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COMThe home plate umpire called an infield fly rule, which is used to prevent the defensive team from intentionally dropping a pop-up in hopes of turning a double play. Naturally, Ramos and Adames would have stayed on base, and the next batter would be up.Instead, Pirates third baseman KeBryan Hayes let the ball drop in front of him, and it caught Ramos a bit off guard. Ramos was caught trailing too much off of second and Hayes threw the ball to second baseman Nick Gonzalez to achieve the quick-thinking double play.Ramos called it a "mental error" after the game, according to NBC Sports Bay Area.ORIOLES RELIEVER SERANTHONY DOMINGUEZ WALKS OVER TO JOIN BLUE JAYS AFTER TRADE REACHED DURING DOUBLEHEADER"Trying to do too much, overthinking. Schumer calls on FBI to conduct counterintelligence threat assessment on Epstein files
Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., has called on the FBI to conduct a counterintelligence threat assessment on the Jeffrey Epstein files.Schumer said on the Senate floor on Tuesday that the FBI assessment should accomplish three things: determine if foreign intelligence agencies could gain access to the information "the president does not want to release in the Epstein files, through methods that include cyber intrusion;" identify any vulnerabilities that could be exploited by foreign intelligence agencies with access to non-public information in the Epstein files, "including being able to gain leverage over Donald Trump, his family, or other senior government officials;" and result in the FBI publicly showing that the bureau is "developing mitigation strategies to counter these threats and safeguard our national security."At his weekly Democratic leadership press conference afterward, Schumer condemned what he categorized as the Epstein "cover-up," further taking aim at President Donald Trump and House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La."Trump promised he'd release the Epstein files while he was on the campaign trail, yet he has yet to do it," Schumer told reporters. "Speaker Johnson quite literally preferred to shut down Congress, sending everyone home on an Epstein recess to avoid the topic. Americans are right to be angry over the lack of transparency, but there are also some very real questions about risks to national security."JOHNSON SAYS GHISLAINE MAXWELL DESERVES LIFE SENTENCE OVER EPSTEIN CRIMES, REJECTS POTENTIAL PARDON"Given Trump's total about-face on releasing files and given what we know from the FBI whistleblowers, it's natural to ask, what happens if our adversaries use cyberattacks and other means to access files and materials into Epstein that are damaging or worse for President Trump and or those around him?" Schumer continued. "What happens if the Epstein files end up in the hands of Russia or North Korea, or Chinese governments? Unless the Epstein files are fully released to the public, could our adversaries use that, Epstein, to use that information to blackmail someone like the president?Last Thursday, Schumer noted, the Department of Homeland Security and the Department of Health and Human Services were among several government agencies hacked as part of a breach to Microsoft SharePoint system."This was confirmed that it was Chinese actors. So we don't need this happening again," Schumer said. "We have to ensure that it can't happen. National security is not and should never be a partisan issue. We need to do everything we can to make sure we protecting the U.S. and American families. This report is vital in doing that. Beyond that, there is one more thing Donald Trump could do to quell people's anger, confusion, frustration, and/or deep fears. That is, release the files."Last week, Johnson ended the House legislative session a day early, averting a potential vote on a resolution by Reps. Thomas Massie, R-Ky., and Ro Khanna, D-Calif., that would have compelled the Justice Department and the FBI to release the Epstein files. Johnson asserted on Sunday that House Republicans supported "maximum disclosure" but argued that the resolution was "reckless" and poorly drafted, arguing that it ignored federal rules protecting grand jury materials and "would require the DOJ and FBI to release information that they know is false, that is based on lies and rumors and was not even credible enough to be entered into the court proceedings."TRUMP DROPS EPSTEIN-LINKED NAMES THAT MEDIA OUGHT TO BE SPEAKING ABOUT AMID FILES FIRESTORMJohnson said he supported the Trump administration's stance that "all credible evidence and information" be released, but emphasized the need for safeguards to protect victims' identities.During a bilateral meeting with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer in Scotland on Monday, Trump was asked why he kicked Epstein out of his Mar-a-Lago club in West Palm Beach, Florida, years ago."That's such old history. Very easy to explain, but I don't want to waste your time by explaining it. But for years, I wouldn't talk to Jeffrey Epstein. I wouldn't talk because he did something that was inappropriate," Trump told reporters. "He hired help, and I said, 'Don't ever do that again.' He stole people that worked for me. I said, 'Don't ever do that again.' He did it again, and I threw him out of the place, persona non grata. I threw him out and that was it."Trump said he turned down an invitation to Epstein's notorious island in the Caribbean and claimed former President Bill Clinton and former Harvard University President Larry Summers had gone."I never went to the island and Bill Clinton went there, supposedly 28 times. I never went to the island, but Larry Summers, I hear, went there. He was the head of Harvard and many other people that are very big people. Nobody ever talks about them," Trump said. "I never had the privilege of going to his island. And I did turn it down. But a lot of people in Palm Beach were invited to his island. In one of my very good moments, I turned it down."Fox News' Tyler Olson contributed to this report.

Ozzy Osbourne fans gather in Birmingham for funeral procession to honor rock legend
Fans are bidding their final farewell to Ozzy Osbourne. On Wednesday, thousands of people flocked to the streets of Birmingham, England to honor the legendary rock star as the hearse and accompanying vehicles made their way to the Black Sabbath bridge and bench.OZZY OSBOURNE DEAD AT 76On Tuesday, the Lord Mayor of Birmingham, Councillor Zafar IqbalMBE, JP, said it was "important" for the city to honor Osbourne in the city that he loved so much."Ozzy was more than a music legend - he was a son of Birmingham. Having recently been awarded the Freedom of the City and following his celebrated appearance at theBack to the Beginningconcert at Villa Park earlier this month, it was important to the city that we support a fitting, dignified tribute ahead of a private family funeral. We know how much this moment will mean to his fans. Were proud to host it here with his loving family in the place where it all began, and we are grateful that they have generously offered to pay to enable this to happen and support the city is giving him the farewell he deserves."According to People, Osbourne who died on July 22 will also be honored privately by his close family and friends with an intimate funeral."They're very grateful for the special family time they had together before Ozzy passed," a source told the outlet. "They're planning a small, private funeral that will be a celebration of his life. Ozzy would never want a mope-fest."The source said that the rockers family, including wife Sharon, 72, and their children, Aimee, 41, Jack, 39, and Kelly, 40, is "touched by all the love and support pouring in from around the world."OZZY OSBOURNES DEATH HAS TRIBUTES POURING IN FROM MUSIC LEGENDS AND CELEBRITIES ACROSS THE GLOBEIn a "Dear Ozzy" column for The Times in 2011, Osbourne shared his wishes on what he hoped his future funeral would be like after a fan asked if it was "too morbid to plan your own funeral? Or is it a thoughtful gift for your surviving relatives?""I honestly dont care what they play at my funeral; they can put on a medley of Justin Bieber, Susan Boyle and We Are the Diddymen if it makes em happy," Osbourne wrote. "But I do want to make sure its a celebration, not a mope-fest.""Id also like some pranks: maybe the sound of knocking inside the coffin; or a video of me asking my doctor for a second opinion on his diagnosis of death," he continued. "Therell be no harping on the bad times.""So to answer your question, yes, a bit of planning is the right thing to do for the family you leave behind," he said. "Its worth remembering that a lot of people see nothing but misery their whole lives. So by any measure, most of us in this country especially rock stars like me are very lucky.""Thats why I dont want my funeral to be sad. I want it to be a time to say thanks."
