Senate Democrats have begun to ramp up their push for the full release of documents related to the late, convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, while Senate Republicans have tried to focus their attention elsewhere."The story Republicans hoped would quietly fade is growing louder by the hour," Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., said on the Senate floor.SENATE REPUBLICAN DEMANDS STATE, FEDERAL COURTS 'IMMEDIATELY UNSEAL ALL' EPSTEIN DOCSSchumer has led the charge among Senate Democrats in demanding more transparency on the Epstein issue, and has used the drama in recent weeks as a political cudgel to go after congressional Republicans and the White House.His remarks come after a recent Wall Street Journal report alleged that President Donald Trump's name appeared in the documents surrounding Epstein, and that he was told by the Justice Department about it before publicly saying he was not among the untold number of names within the documents.Trump also ordered Attorney General Pam Bondi to "produce any and all pertinent Grand Jury testimony" on the matter, and top Justice Department official Todd Blanche met with Epstein accomplice Ghislane Maxwell in Florida on Thursday to discuss the late pedophile and alleged sex trafficker."It has the stench of a cover-up," Sen. Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, told Fox News Digital. "The only right outcome here is to release and disclose all the files. There should be no secret meetings or secret deals."'NOT GOING AWAY': INSIDE THE EPSTEIN DRAMA THAT'S THROWN HOUSE GOP INTO CHAOSHowever, the Epstein saga has not had near the effect in the Senate as in the House, where House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., sent lawmakers home early this week for a monthlong break after some Republicans and Democrats joined forces in their calls to bring the so-called Epstein files out in the open.Senate Republicans, meanwhile, have downplayed the issue, arguing that Congress has far less power to obtain the information than the Justice Department does.Sen. Ron Johnson, who chairs the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations, told Fox News Digital that he does not like "duplicating efforts," but noted that he is still curious to know more information about the Epstein documents. "I'm like every American who knows anything about this I'm curious," the Wisconsin Republican said. "It doesn't make any sense to me, starting back with his original trial and very light sentence. But I think there are far more important things to worry about."Senate Democrats are trying to force the issue, however. Sen. Ruben Gallego, D-Ariz., again tried to introduce a non-binding resolution that called on Bondi to release all files related to Epstein, and the move was again blocked by Sen. But when Gallego offered to combine the two, he objected, and accused him of turning the issue into a "political football.""One, in this particular case in a lot of cases we're not willing to stretch the truth to tell something that's not accurate," Mullin said. "We want to be accurate with what we're telling the American people. And the truth is, what can Congress do?"So far, Mullins resolution is the only action offered by Senate Republicans in the ongoing Epstein saga. When asked if he would be interested in bringing the resolution to the floor for a vote, Senate Majority Leader John Thune, R-S.D., said "obviously there is some interest in taking action on it, and well see how intense that feeling is."Still, some Republicans want to focus their efforts elsewhere."I hope we don't waste our time on that," said Sen. John Cornyn, R-TX, and a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee. "Weve got enough to do."

Bryan Kohberger is up for a rude awakening as he attempts to settle into life at Idaho's maximum security prison in Kuna, according to current and former inmates and a former prison minister."I think hell have a target on his back child molesters, rapists and woman beaters get smashed, and hell be stereotyped like that," said Seth Ferranti, a former most wanted fugitive who became a documentarian after serving a 21-year sentence for trafficking marijuana and LSD. "Depends on the security level hes at or if hes in a protection unit."Kohberger, 30, is serving four consecutive life sentences plus another 10 years with no chance of parole after pleading guilty just weeks before the expected start of what could have been the most high-profile U.S. murder trial since OJ Simpson's in the 1990s.BRYAN KOHBERGER PLEADED GUILTY TO IDAHO STUDENT MURDERS, BUT THESE KEY QUESTIONS REMAIN UNANSWERED"When guys with big cases or who were in the headlines hit the compound, everybody knows," said Ferranti, whose most recent project, "A Tortured Mind," explores a mental health condition Kohberger will never have to worry about called post-incarceration syndrome."Some dudes will talk to the new guy, some dudes wont. The environments are completely different."In county jail, people are going through the court process and waiting to get sentenced," Ferranti said. "In prison you are actually serving your sentence. So its a big difference."Kohberger will spend the rest of his life locked up with other lifers who have nothing to lose.BRYAN KOHBERGER TRADED DEATH PENALTY FOR LIFE SENTENCE THAT COULD STILL END VIOLENTLY BEHIND BARSThe killer is reputed to be lacking in social skills illustrated by what his attorneys called a "piercing stare" and lack of social awareness in court filings. Over the past two and a half years of confinement, he appears to have lost some weight, too."He doesnt want to stare at anybody in prison, and if he's getting frail, that will just mark him as weak and an easy target," Ferranti said. "Ive seen dudes strung out, turned out, court chaos, catch new cases, get killed, get shipped out. Anything can happen in prison, it will make you or break you."Kohberger pleaded guilty to the murders of Madison Mogen, 21, Kaylee Goncalves, 21, Xana Kernodle, 20, and Ethan Chapin, 20, on July 2 in order to avoid the potential death penalty. They were all asleep except for Kernodle at the start of the massacre. "Jeffrey Dahmer got killed not because of his notoriety or fame. He got killed because he kept freaking other inmates out by pretending to eat body parts."Dahmer was a cannibalistic serial killer and rapist who targeted men and boys between 1978 and 1991. In 1994, a fellow inmate named Christopher Scarver beat him to death in a Wisconsin prison. Dahmer was 34 years old when he died. Kohberger is 30.Scarver told the New York Post in 2015 that he was disgusted by the serial killer and believes guards left them unattended together just to give him an opportunity to kill him with a metal bar from the weight room.FOLLOW THE FOX TRUE CRIME TEAM ON XPolice documents unveiled Wednesday revealed new details about Kohberger's encounters with other inmates in jail. They described him as a "f---ing weirdo" and complained of his obsessive-compulsive tendencies like excessive handwashing and staying up most of the night. One also said he hogged the shower and spent hours talking to his mom on video calls."Prison is all about blending in and not standing out," Rovere told Fox News Digital. "His people skills are not going to be where they need to be in a place like prison, when you're dealing with murderers.Kohberger is expected to begin his prison term in isolation, but things could get ugly quickly if he's introduced to the general population or placed with a cellmate, Rovere said."I can't imagine a scenario where Bryan doesn't aggravate [them] by staying awake all night when he's trying to sleep, or constantly washing his hands, among other idiosyncrasies," he said.
