Trump releasing the MLK Jr. files is a victory for truth and accountability
On April 4, 1968, my uncle, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., was taken from us in a tragic act that forever changed the nation and ignited a powerful call for justice and equality. He and my father, Reverend A.D. King, fought side by side in the Civil Rights Movementnot only as brothers by blood, but as brothers in purpose. Together, they shared a dream rooted in the belief that we are one blood, one human race.As my uncle once warned, "We must learn to live together as brothers or perish together as fools." That warning rings truer than ever.He was a man of peace, a minister of the Gospel, and a dreamer whose only weapon was the truth. His death left behind not just grief, but deep and lasting questions about who was truly responsible, what the government knew, and why so much of that knowledge was kept hidden from the American people.MLK CELEBRATION AND TRUMP INAUGURATION: WHAT ONE HISTORIC DAY MEANS FOR AMERICAFor decades, efforts to uncover the full truth have been stalled. In the 1990s, Congress passed the President John F. Kennedy Assassination Records Collection Act, which led to the release of some documents related to both the JFK and MLK assassinations. But those files were often incomplete, heavily redacted, and sanitized under vague claims of national security or foreign intelligence sensitivity. What was meant to provide answers only raised more suspicion, as key names, connections, and timelines remained obscured. That has now changed. Thanks to the leadership of President Donald J. Trump, along with Attorney General Pam Bondi and Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, the American people are finally being given the truth. In one of the most significant acts of government transparency in modern history, more than 300,000 pages of long-classified documents related to my uncles assassination have been declassified. This is not a symbolic gesture, nor is it a political stunt. It is leadership. The newly released files include detailed FBI field office reports from across the nation. For the first time, the public can read uncensored correspondence between agencies and Congress, revealing how bureaucrats delayed or concealed information that the American people had a right to know.So why now?Because the excuses have expired, the justifications for continued secrecy are no longer applicable. More importantly, because the American people deserve honesty. Our trust in public institutions has been damaged not by what weve learned, but by what we were never allowed to see.President Trump did not cave to pressure from the intelligence community or permanent Washington. He stood with the people. He upheld the principle that government must be accountable to those it serves. His decision to override long-standing objections and release these documents fulfills a promise that generations of Americans have waited to see kept. And his administration made that all possible.CLICK HERE FOR MORE FOX NEWS OPINIONAs Scripture says, "There is nothing hidden that will not be disclosed, and nothing concealed that will not be known or brought out into the open." That truth is not just a biblical promiseit is now the operating principle of this administration. My uncle once said, "The time is always right to do what is right." It was a call to moral action regardless of politics. By that measure, President Trump, Pam Bondi, and Tulsi Gabbard have honored his legacy in a manner that few have ever done. Today, finally, America is doing what is right. As we reckon with the truths of history, we must also recognize this: the measure of ones contribution to justice, peace, and human dignity is not diminished by the complexity of their humanity. While some may seek to discredit the message by highlighting the imperfections of the messenger, people often fail to realize that it is through our flaws and imperfections that the brightest light truly shines. The power of the movement was never rooted in perfection, but in the courage to press forward despite it.Our nation is at its best when we remember that we are one blood, one human family. That is the legacy my father and uncle died fighting for.

B-52 was on FAA-approved flight path before Delta regional jet near miss, Air Force says
The U.S. Air Force says the B-52 bomber that had a near miss with a Delta Airlines flight over North Dakota on Friday was flying an approved flight path at the time. The Air Force released the statement on Monday, saying the Federal Aviation Administration was still investigating the incident. The B-52 bomber was in the air to conduct a flyover at the North Dakota State Fair, which had been pre-approved and planned in advance by the FAA.The Air Force says the B-52 pilots were in contact with the Minot International Airport and the Minot Approach Control (RAPCON)."At approximately 7:10 p.m. prior to the flyover, the B-52 crew contacted Minot Approach (RAPCON) to prepare for the flyover. Required checklists were completed, and the crew remained in contact with Minot Approach as it flew to its holding point 12 miles east of the fairgrounds. While holding, the B-52 crew communicated the flyover plan to both RAPCON and Minot International Airports air traffic control tower," the Air Force said in a statement.PASSENGERS SETTLE MASSIVE LAWSUIT WITH ALASKA AIRLINES AND BOEING AFTER MIDFLIGHT DOOR PLUG FAILURE"Minot Approach directed the B-52 crew at 7:43 p.m. to contact Minot International Airports air traffic control. The B-52 crew contacted Minot International Airport tower and the tower provided instructions to continue 2 miles westbound after the flyover. The tower did not advise of the inbound commercial aircraft," the statement continued. The pilot of a SkyWest Airlines flight operated by Delta Air Lines performed an "aggressive maneuver" to avoid a collision with the B-52. The pilot then explained the frightening incident to passengers in audio that went viral on social media. The flight was carrying passengers from Minneapolis to Minot, N.D. The flight circled Minot International Airport several times before landing after the incident.DELTA FLIGHT DIVERTED AFTER BATTERY FIRE FILLS CABIN WITH SMOKEThe Federal Aviation Administration confirmed it is investigating the incident."SkyWest flight 3788, operating as Delta Connection from Minneapolis, Minnesota to Minot, North Dakota on July 18, landed safely in Minot after being cleared for approach by the tower but performed a go-around whenanother aircraft became visible in their flight path," a spokesperson for SkyWest said in a statement to FOX Business."We are investigating the incident," the spokesperson added.300 DELTA PASSENGERS LEFT STRANDED ON TARMAC OVERNIGHT AFTER STORMS DIVERT PLANES TO AIRPORT WITHOUT CUSTOMSA video posted on social media appeared to include audio of the pilot explaining what happened to passengers."Given his speed ... I don't know how fast they were going, but they were a lot faster than us. I felt it was the safest thing to do to turn behind it," the pilot said in the video that has now gone viral."So sorry about the aggressive maneuver. It caught me by surprise," he continued. "This is not normal at all. I don't know why they didn't give us a heads-up, because the Air Force base does have radar ... long story short, it was not fun, but I do apologize for it, and thank you for understanding. Federal judge slaps temporary restraining order on Mississippi DEI ban
A federal judge issued a temporary restraining order Sunday against a Mississippi law banning diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) from public schools and universities.U.S. District Judge Henry Wingate, a nominee of former President Ronald Reagan, approved the request brought by plaintiffs, including the Mississippi Association of Educators, who are represented by the American Civil Liberties Union and the Mississippi Center for Justice. The order pauses implementation for at least 14 days of a state law known as House Bill 1193, which was approved in April and first took effect July 1.In his ruling, Wingate cited instances where the law is already having an impact as part of his reason for siding with the plaintiffs.Faculty members at Jackson State University have been instructed not to discuss gender theory or systemic racism, he wrote as an example.UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN, LAW JOURNAL SUED FOR ALLEGEDLY DISCRIMINATING AGAINST STRAIGHT WHITE MALES"Suppressing constitutional speech through vague prohibitions and the specter of financial retribution does not serve the public good it undermines it," Wingate wrote. "An over-broad, constitutionally borderless law should be the target of a well-aimed injunction to promote, rather than impair, the interests of Mississippi citizens, the integrity of its institutions, and the constitutional principles on which this republic stands."The legislation bans DEI offices, programs, trainings and statements and prohibits institutions from considering DEI in contracts and their hiring processes. It also prohibits programs or academic courses promoting "divisive concepts," including that one race, sex, color, or national origin is superior to another or that someone is inherently racist or oppressive, consciously or unconsciously, based on those characteristics. Schools or universities may not promote the concept that an individual's moral character is determined by his or her race, sex, color, or national origin or that "meritocracy or traits such as hard work ethic are racist or sexist, or were created by a particular class to oppress another class."The law also bans "concepts promoting transgender ideology, gender-neutral pronouns, deconstruction of heteronormativity, gender theory, sexual privilege or any related formulation."Institutions found to be in violation of the law could lose state funding. The judge notes that plaintiffs argue "the laws enforcement mechanism withdrawal of funds, dissolution of student organizations, and employment consequences exacerbates its chilling effect.""The chilling effect is compounded in the academic context, where the fear of losing state funding compels institutions to over-correct in ways that suppress constitutionally protected speech censorship," Wingate wrote.FEDERAL JUDGE RULES TRUMP ADMIN CANNOT BLOCK GRANTS TO LGBT GROUPSThe order cites affidavits from school officials complaining that "vague prohibitions" under the law resulted in partnerships and programs supporting LGBTQ+ students being abruptly severed. One librarian at Hinds Community College attested she "is uncertain whether promoting material for events like Black History Month or recommending titles related to race, gender, or identity violates the Act.""In this Courts eye, these accounts appear to reflect a broad, chilling effect across public institutions and community organizations," Wingate wrote. "The affidavits detail not only imminent harm, but a possible widespread suppression of speech, programming, and institutional function. The evidence, at this stage, demonstrates a clear and ongoing deprivation of constitutional rights in a manner not compensable by money damages thus warranting injunctive relief."The judge instructed both sides to appear for a hearing on Wednesday. Wingate can decide whether to extend the temporary restraining order by another 14 days.Plaintiffs are seeking a preliminary injunction, which would more permanently block the DEI ban. A hearing on that matter is scheduled for Aug. 3.CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APPIt was not immediately known if Mississippi would appeal to the U.S. 5th Circuit Court of Appeals. Fox News Digital reached out to the Mississippi Attorney General's office, but they did not immediately respond. The Associated Press contributed to this report.

San Francisco close to taking new step to fight homelessness
San Francisco is set to crack down on homeless people living in RVs with its Board of Supervisors preparing to vote on strict new parking limits.A proposal that would enact a two-hour parking limit citywide for all RVs and oversized vehicles longer than 22 feet or higher than 7 feet -- regardless of whether they are being used as housing -- is up for final approval Tuesday. Mayor Daniel Lurie and supporters of the policy say motor homes are not suitable for long-term living and the city has a duty to both provide shelter to those in need and clean up the streets.Under an accompanying permit program, RV residents registered with the city as of May are exempt from the parking limits. In exchange, they must accept San Francisco's offer of temporary or longer-term housing and get rid of their RV when it's time to move. The city has budgeted more than half a million dollars to buy RVs from residents at $175 per foot."We absolutely want to serve those families, those who are in crisis across San Francisco," Chief of Health & Human Services Kunal Modi told The Associated Press. "We feel the responsibility to help them get to a stable solution. And at the same time, we want to make sure that that stability is somewhere indoors and not exposed in the public roadway."NEWSOM UNVEILS AGGRESSIVE PLAN TO CLEAR HOMELESS ENCAMPMENTS ACROSS CALIFORNIA: 'NO MORE EXCUSES'The permits would last for six months. People in RVs who arrive after May will not be eligible for the permit program and must abide by the two-hour rule. The proposal, which targets at least 400 RVs, first cleared the Board of Supervisors last week with two of 11 supervisors voting "no."RED STATE NOW OFFERS PREFERRED PARKING FOR PREGNANT WOMENRV dwellers say San Francisco should open a safe parking lot where residents could empty trash and access electricity. However, city officials shuttered an RV lot in April, saying it cost about $4 million a year to service three dozen large vehicles and it failed to transition people to more stable housing, the AP reported. The mayor's new proposal comes with more money for beefed-up RV parking enforcement but also an additional $11 million, largely for a small number of households to move to subsidized housing for a few years.Officials acknowledge that may not be sufficient to house all RV dwellers, but note that the city also has hotel vouchers and other housing subsidies. The Associated Press contributed to this report.

Then the Islamic Republic brought us to a place that will practically kill us," Seydal said.On Tuesday, Amnesty International called for an investigation of Israels strike on the prison as a possible war crime, saying it constituted "a serious violation of international humanitarian law."IRAN ACKNOWLEDGES DEATH TOLL FROM ISRAEL'S STRIKE ON NOTORIOUS EVIN PRISONErika Guevara Rosas, who serves as Amnesty International's Senior Director for research, advocacy, policy and campaigns, said "the evidence establishes reasonable grounds to believe that the Israeli military brazenly and deliberately attacked civilian buildings."Evin Prison is infamous for its harsh conditions and became a place for Iranian officials to throw protesters. In 2022, the U.S. Treasury Department sanctioned Iranian officials and entities responsible for a crackdown on protesters, including Evin Prison warden Hedayat Farzadi, who was known for his brutal tactics. Illinois coroner releases new details about woman found dead on illegal immigrant's property
An Illinois coroner has refuted claims that a woman found dead in a storage container at the home of an illegal immigrant was decapitated. The Lake County Coroners Office released a statement Monday following its autopsy on Megan Bos, 37, saying a key finding contradicted media reports as well as a statement by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) that claimed she had been beheaded.Bos body was found by police in April in a container in a yard belonging to Jose Luis Mendoza-Gonzalez, 52,a Mexican illegal immigrant who was arrested and charged in the case but released after his first court appearance, sparking outrage. Bos' mother has slammed Illinois Gov.Immigration authorities in Chicago arrested him last week.ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT CHARGED WITH MURDER OF MARYLAND MOM DAYS AFTER VAN HOLLEN'S EL SALVADOR RETURN"At no point was Megan decapitated before or after her death," the office said, adding that no signs of trauma or struggle were found in the April 11 autopsy. Boss body was in an advanced state of decomposition and exposed to chemical substances, complicating cause-of-death analysis, the office said."This misinformation has caused unnecessary distress to the family and misrepresents the facts of this investigation."A DHS spokesperson told Fox News Digital that Bos' body was found badly dismembered and in a bleach storage container, in response to the coroner's statement.Bos cause of death remains undetermined, with toxicology showing fentanyl, cocaine and morphine in her system, the coroner's office said. The coroners office said her death is suspicious, potentially drug-related or homicidal, but not conclusively one or the other. The office said that asphyxial death is possible but hard to confirm due to decomposition."These circumstances raise the suspicion of a homicidal death or possibly a drug-related death," the coroners office said. "Asphyxial homicides may include no external or internal evidence of injury. Furthermore, the decomposition of the body at the time of discovery complicates interpretation of sometimes minute physical findings suggestive of asphyxia."SUZANNE MORPHEW'S REMAINS MAY HAVE BEEN MOVED TWICE AFTER BEING KILLED, FORENSIC SCIENTIST SAYSBos body was found in a plastic garbage container in Mendoza-Gonzalezs yard inWaukegan, Illinois."Fentanyl, cocaine metabolites and morphine were identified in the liver tissue, indicating recent potentially lethal cocaine, fentanyl and probable heroin use," the statement reads. "Making a distinction between an accidental drug intoxication and an asphyxial death based solely on the autopsy findings, both the absence of significant trauma and the presence of potentially lethal drugs in the decedent's body, is not possible."Mendoza-Gonzalez was arrested in April and charged with concealing a corpse, abusing a corpse and obstruction of justice but was ordered released by Lake County Judge Randie Bruno after his first court appearance. He was arrested again Saturday afternoon at a market in Chicago byImmigration and Customs Enforcement(ICE) agents and remains in ICE custody, according to DHS."It is absolutely repulsive [that] this monster walked free on Illinois streets after allegedly committing such a heinous crime," a DHS spokesperson told Fox News previously. "Megan Bos and her family will have justice."Bos was reported missing on March 9, but family members said she disappeared in February.Mendoza-Gonzalez is accused of keeping Bos' body in his yard for nearly two months andabusing her corpse.Mendoza-Gonzalez allegedly told authorities Bos overdosed at his house and, instead of calling 911, he broke her phone and kept her body in the basement for two days before moving it outside, according tothe report. After Mendoza-Gonzalez's release in April, Antioch Mayor Scott Gartner criticized laws that allowed the suspected criminal alien to be released, according to a report from affiliate FOX 32 Chicago."I was shocked to find out literally the next day that the person that they had arrested for this had been released from prison under the SAFE-T Act less than, detained less, I think, than 48 hours," Gartner said. "There's other extenuating circumstances in this case. Not only the type of crime, how long the crime was concealed, the fact that the person that was arrested for this is not a U.S. citizen, and, you know, can maybe [flee] the country."Fox News' Patrick McGovern contributed to this report.

NYC councilwoman warns Mamdani victory will drive away key voting bloc: 'Afraid to live here'
EXCLUSIVE: Inna Vernikov,a New York City Republican councilwoman, told Fox News Digital that voters in her heavily Jewish district are "petrified" about the prospect of socialist Zohran Mamdani becoming the citys next mayor."This is a guy who wants to globalize the intifada," Vernikov told Fox News Digital. "We've never seen anything close to this in New York City. We have the largest Jewish population in America, and I'll tell you Jews are telling me they're going to run away from New York City, and Jews have contributed a lot to the city and to this country, and the idea that they are now afraid to live here it's unacceptable and unprecedented really, this has never happened here."Mamdani has been widely criticized for his anti-Israel positionsdating back to his college days, when he founded his schools Students for Justice in Palestine chapter. In recent weeks, Mamdani has been criticized over a perceived reticence to condemn the phrase "globalize the intifada," which henow says he will not use and will discourage others from doing.Mamdanis father, Mahmood, has also faced scrutiny over his past writings and comments, which included asocial media post celebrating a potential "third intifadah against settler colonialism" in Israel.MAMDANI CONFRONTED ON STREETS OF NYC ABOUT 'COMMUNIST' LABEL, REFUSES TO ANSWER"The intifada is a call for violence, we've seen what happened during two intifadas where people were murdered, innocent people lost their lives," Vernikov said, adding that "there's a lot of fear in the Jewish community if this guy becomes mayor."Vernikov, who is Jewish, told Fox News Digital people she has spoken to in her district are "petrified" of Mamdani becoming mayor.MAMDANI SPARKS FIRESTORM WITH RESURFACED COMMENT ON ABOLISHING PRIVATE PROPERTY: 'HE'S A COMMUNIST'Numerous Jewish groups have come out instaunch opposition against Mamdanis candidacy. Brooke Goldstein, a human rights attorney, told Fox News Digital earlier this month that"Zohran Mamdani has built his political brand on the same radical, hate-filled and anti-American ideology his father, Mahmood Mamdani, has spent decades promotingone that demonizes Jewish people and legitimizes anti-democratic violence."Fox News Digital reached out to Mamdanis campaign for comment.Vernikov took issue with Democrats who have started to endorse Mamdani, whichexperts say could cause problems for the Democratic Party if he wins in November, and criticized their excuse that "hes the Democratic nominee.""I'm curious, I have a question," Vernikov told Fox News Digital. "If this Democratic nominee would be like a KKK member or would call for annihilation of the black community, would they still you know, come behind him as hard as they are now, and I would think that the answer would be no, but when it comes to the Jews, that's okay.""So it's really hypocritical, unacceptable, and disgusting, and they've been endorsing him one by one. While Republicans are fighting antisemitism on behalf of Jewish Americans every day, the Democrats are supporting an antisemite."
