President Donald Trump will take the final decision regarding any possible military action against Iran in the next two weeks, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters during a press briefing on June 19.
The president is still hoping for diplomacy to work with Iran, as he hopes the country will sign the nuclear deal, Leavitt added.
Crypto platforms, banks, stock exchanges — both Israel and Iran have attacked centers of financial infrastructure belonging to each other since June 13, when the war began.
As reported earlier, Iran, which has been reeling under the effect of the global sanctions for decades now, has relied on crypto of late to sustain its insulated economy.
The total crypto market cap stood at $3.25 trillion at the time of writing, down from the $3.35 trillion on June 13.
As per the on-chain analytics platform Coinglass, more than $115 million has been liquidated from the crypto market within the last 24 hours — $60 million in long positions and $55 million in short positions.
As the White House secretary released the statement, nearly all the leading cryptocurrencies witnessed an immediate spike in their prices before making a retreat.
As per Kraken's price feed, Bitcoin was trading at $104,620.85 at press time. Ethereum was trading at $2,515.19, XRP was trading at $2.17, and Solana was trading at $145.39.
However, one should also look at how much these cryptocurrencies have declined in value since June 13. While Bitcoin has dipped 3%, Ethereum 9%, XRP 8%, and Solana 9%.
